I originally wrote a bad review for this app but am now updating to a good one. I’m an annual subscriber and love their content. Excellent bites of therapy and philosophy for easy consumption and always thought provoking. Initially the app wouldn’t allow me access or recognize my subscriber log in. No easy support link could be found to report the issue. It would deny access to paid content after my log in. They have since responded and provided a fix. Happy with the app now and use it a lot. The content is excellent. I adore School of Life materials, books, everything and the subscription is well worth the money. I enjoy the easy access through my phone. I do hope they put more of their videos on the app.
1. I don’t understand why app changes the homepage multiple times per day. Each page already contains too much information, so to see the articles constantly being swapped throughout the day is overwhelming and fatiguing. Keep it simple and let me have a few small things to ponder throughout the day. I think there is an article about minimalism in there :) 2. I wish the content had a better mix of education and therapeutic content. It feels like 5% education and 95% therapy content. If we are going to bring up art history and philosophy, treat me like an adult and give me just a little bit more to chew on. For example, why not give me a tad more background on the painting I’m looking at besides just the name of the person who made it? Why is this painting significant historically/culturally? I have no idea! But the author just wants to say “it’s ok to feel sad” or something along those lines. Which is fine, but I don’t know how to think about the painting in its actual historical context. 3. Are widgets coming?
I lean on the wisdom and encouragement in this app daily! The subscription is well worth it. It could really improve by having a dark mode available. It’ much too bright for my tired eyes, especially at night or during insomnia when I need the app most (even with phone settings at the lowest brightness with blue light dimmed).

The magic of school of life is somehow translated perfectly in how this app • operates (the light, genius of something so easy as the card flip. but I look forward to flipping it every single day... sparking my joy & curiosity.) • and the offerings - so many card deck themes and question cards and for any occasion… question and multiple choice (but the UX interface is innovative creative and unexpected!) about your view on something or feelings or xyz and then directs you to just the video article game or learning that might be of interest. I should be getting paid for this but I’m not - if you’re interested in a copywriter/marketing brand fan of the year on deck, I’m yours. But seriously, if you are a lover of school of life, you are going to be so happy once you see what they’ve dreamt up for you when you open it and see. 5/5 A song link could be cool, and definitely add widgets with a thought of the day or the like or an image w word like the card Flip. I’ve love the School of Life website for a while and was very excited for the app! Pluses: amazing knowledge organized into topics, combination of videos, articles and aphorisms, good search function. Minuses: needs to have annotation and notes functions.
If you’ve enjoyed school of life videos and are craving more depth and well organized content, go ahead and get this app. Read about a topic or two on the train or before falling asleep and you’ll begin to enjoy your screen time like never before without any regrets.
I think the app is great and I love how you can track your progress. I thoroughly enjoy school of life’s content but I wish it was just as accessible on my iPad as it is on my iPhone.
Love the app in general, a lot of helpful content for self growth. I do hope all videos can have subtitle for accessibility reason. Please consider this!
I have a professional and an imaginative love for this strange and Peculiar application to my phone by which I am oddly enough from a historical perfective attached too.
I tried to reset my password and got a message telling me to use the password I set upon joining, which was obviously the entire problem. I wrote to them to explain as much and request a refund for the paid version and got no reply. The absolute worst
I never write app reviews, but this app deserves a five star review. Wow- I absolutely love it. So much content in here to explore and better ourselves. Love this!
A highlight to every waking morning. Highly recommend for anyone who already engaged with The School of Life YouTube, books, set of cards etc. My most praised subscription.
The school of life YouTube channel is what I’m used to watching. I just found out about the app and have been reading a novel they provided about self discovery, I also saw that they have a section to access immediate help for a variety of emotional issues. I’m new to this app so will take away stars/update review if I find something I don’t like, but I want to give my biggest salute to the people over at school of life as they’ve taught me so much emotional maturity and brought me a great deal of peace when I had no one else.
I wanted to keep it but the videos load extremely long and some have trouble being played. I prefer to stick to the content on YouTube because at least there I get to watch all of them. Why would I pay for this frustration?
I think I’ll just stick to the free videos on YouTube. I’m not too thrilled to have to pay a subscription for the same content I can get on YouTube. Great app concept though. Just not for me.
