When I download this game there was a new update, but no old trains, when I loaded the game the first thing that I do is restore purchases and since I purchased all the old ones on the old version, and it gave back all my app purchases, if you read this budge in the go go Thomas game I have issues that I can’t restore no matter what I do, but on this game I could restore purchases from the old version, so could you help me budge on the go go Thomas app, but back to Thomas magic tracks the restore purchases worked and I finished the game, thank you budge for your great work and keep it up😉👍, bonus there’s a glitch where I go to a cart place one gets stuck and I have to go every time to get my cart back please fix it, if you do thank you budge!

Suspicious practices

I am highly suspicious of this app. After my son enjoyed it for a little bit it suddenly started spamming for purchases. That was expected but “wasn’t” expected was how the app responded. It “instantly” tried to trick me into processing a payment just for tapping on any entry. Had I not been using an old iPad mini that still requires me to type in my password much less had been supervising my child this thing would have gone ahead and charged my card without me knowing it! I quickly hit cancel when the iTunes Store asked for my account password and the app was “kind” enough to pop up with a message saying “sometimes processing payment may take a little time”..geez thanks! We had considered making a small purchase to remove ads but after reading reviews from other parents who thought the same thing it appears that doesn’t work. I’m already looking into how to report this app to Apple since last I heard some of these business practices went against some of the App Store polices. At this point it appears even if I had agreed to purchase something from them they would have went ahead and spammed my kid with another app asking for more money.

Pay to play for children’s games?

This is ridiculous! Such a cool concept behind the game and my son loves it. Problem is you can’t do anything without paying real money. I would have no problem paying $5-$10 for the app and let my son play to unlock everything. Problem is that’s not the case. $10 wouldn’t unlock 1/100th of the game. What toddler or young kid has the money to play this game. So now my son just keeps doing the same old challenges over and over because he completed Thomas’ challenges and you have to pay crazy amounts of money for them to move to more. You will never get a dollar from us because of how you are trying to rip these kids off. I feel like the developers are scum bags for trying to exploit our children for money like they are. I would give this game negative stars if it were possible for this.

Waste of time and money.

Even though I’m not the targeted demographic for this game, I feel like this it treats kids like they’re barely a year old. The game constantly holds your hand and forces you to stop and play the same simple mini games over and over again, setting the pace to a screeching halt. Furthermore, the set can be difficult to navigate without the aid of a map to show you where certain locations are. But the worst offense in this game is how it forces you to pay real money for all the other engines after you collect everything for Thomas’ set! I can understand if you had to pay for special/fan-favorite engines like Ryan, Ashima, or Diesel 10; but having to pay for all of them is ridiculous! As a Thomas fan, I did enjoy the references to certain songs and little locations, but I’m also disgusted with how the developers made this game with the idea that kids will buy anything. Parents are better off buying real toy trains for their kids.

Kids Enjoy It

My kids love vehicles and this game is enjoyable for them. However, I paid $20 for all the “toys” and expected the annoying ads to be removed, but it still pops up in the corner of the screen to tempt my children to nag me for more games. I would appreciate it if the app developers could think of us parents too and remove all ads if we decide to pay for the whole game. Thanks for reading my review of me whining about stupid ads in children’s games/apps. Other than the ads, this is a great game for kids.

I haven’t played this game for a long time, but I love it very much now

This game is amazing and every way the all engines go thing is pretty cool and this is amazing because it has Thomas in it and the other engine from all engines go like kana diesel Ken Kenji hiro characters like James Percy, Emily and Thomas and Borden and other characters like Nia and riff and jiff and Federico and farona and Carly and Sandy I love this game very much and it’s so cool that the original version got turned into a completely different version although most people don’t like it I like it though and amazing nowadays

When an update is not an update...

I updated the application with the August update for my 5year old. Since I don't play the game, I did not look at the update. I should have. First thing I heard.."oh no what happened to my Magic Tracks, it looks awful. Thomas looks like play doh and the haunted castle is in daylight, it is supposed to be in nighttime, mommy did you update my app?" The graphics is a mess. The trains are washed out and lack detail, and the board, which was completed with purchase, is missing most of the buildings as you drive around. They appear suddenly, as if they were time-warped in. For the price gouging HIT and Budge do with this game, I expect better from Budge. And don't think that 4-6 year olds won't notice your miss. Before this I previously rated the game 4 stars based on my kid's love of the app.

Keeps freezing

Downloaded the free version for my son. He loved the app but hated having to come to me to click off the ads and the constant offer to purchase. So I decided to pay $20to unlock the whole app. Unfortunately, all it does now is freeze up. Not sure when the last update of the app was but there must be some bugs. Love the app and the enjoyment it brings my son. Just wish I didn’t have to force close the app every 10 minutes.

Great for kids

I’ve seen many complaints from parents about the app spamming with purchase prompts, but as an ipad player for the last 7 years, take it from me… this is not unusual for a mobile game so honestly here’s an easy solution, TURN OFF THE WIFI IDIOT LIKE HOW HARD IS THAT TO FIGURE OUT?!? LIKE GROW UP DUDE ITS NOT THE 1980s ANYMORE LOL LITTERALY EVERYONE WANTS MONEY SO JUST DEAL WITH IT!!! Anyways what I’m saying is kids games like to prompt you with purchases so the kid will buy it I was like 2 and spent 50 bucks on a train game using fake previews

I did some funny things with Thomas. First, Budge the cringe monster greeted me. Then I entered the game. Then I made Thomas speed and no police pulled him over. After that, I went to the train station and found some people who look like wax figures and I left some behind. After a while, I was randomly driving and fell into the ICE AGE?!?! After I escaped, I found a volcano and instantly fell in and witnessed Thomas the soulless looking tank dying :) experience: it was totally a 10/10

I like it

I like this app but I wish I had more control over rail choices. I also would love it if the choices were not discussed by a commentator; it stops the progress of the game even if it is only for the duration of asking the direction forward, left or right. I think it would be more fun if the forward lever could also steer the train. Also forward motion should be fully controlled by the person playing the game ( or maybe have levels that can be adjusted in settings). I really like this app and I look forward to seeing its progression in the future. Thank you.

scarred for life

As soon as I opened this app I was greeted with Thomas the soulless lookin tank engine seriously who ever made this game ANIMATE THOMAS EYES!! Anyway while I was driving Thomas to a station to pick up some passengers and then WAHHHHHH!!!! THE PASSENGERS LOOK LIKE GROSS WAX FIGURES (which they probably are) so they got into Thomas and I drove off I was heading up a hill when I saw Henry we talked for a bit but then he challenged me to a race!! WHAT A RACE!?! WHAAAA????? Anyways we jumped over a FREAKING VOLCANO AND I FELL IN THE LAVA and I had to witness Thomas melting slowly.. 10/10

Adds don’t go away even when you buy the app.

We were a bit disappointed when we realized that there were still adds piping up even after we paid $20 for this app. I would expect to not have to make my 4 year old stare at adds especially after I pay for it. We love Thomas but we will not be purchasing other games from them.

Developer continues to promote their own apps with ads, even after paying to unlock all content.

This is ridiculous. I know how these apps work. You download the free version, which is roughly 5% of the final product, and will be hounded with ads to purchase the full version. Well I did that, because my son really enjoys this app. And guess what? Every 5-10 minutes, he brings his tablet to me because an ad for another Budge Studios app has stopped him from playing (where you have to tap on a tiny red X in the top right of the screen to close it). I paid for this... STOP WITH THE ADS!!! Let’s also not forget to mention that we encounter bugs every so often that make it where the throttle doesn’t work, and you have to close the app and restart. The screen has also locked up a few times. It would be a good app if the devs would fix the bugs and stop trying to squeeze more money out of those that have already bought their content. We won’t be downloading any more Budge Studios apps.

Needs fixes

My son plays with this game and there seems to be quite a few glitches. The round table won’t let him go to the right and makes his train crash. The brick bridge pieces won’t always move. The crane wouldn’t turn either. After these we restart the game but it still glitches. Please take these suggestions into consideration as this is one of the most expensive games I have bought him.

Fun game

My son loves this game. It became a reward for getting his schoolwork done. It was aggravating to constantly be told of new purchases you can make, but that also became a reward. We rarely had a problem with the game but now there is no audio. You can still play it, and he has it memorized, but you can’t pull the whistle to hear it. In all my son will say, “I love playing this with you, Mommy!”

BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL CHARACTERS

My 3 year old son used to love this game, for a while every time he opened the app he asked where various trains are and why they were gone, he now has the response memorized and says “ugh the people that make the game changed it to baby Thomas and that’s not good.” Your target audience does not like the change. Please bring back the original trains. Make a different “baby Thomas” game. Another thing, baby Thomas says “tidmouth” wrong.

No way to remove obnoxious ads

I downloaded this app years ago, and initially made in-app purchases to remove ads. This worked well for years. But the app has now been updated so that it is impossible to remove any ads. Despite the fact that I had paid to remove ads, they are now here forever. My kid is disabled, and can’t navigate through the ad screens independently. So this app is now completely useless to him and to me. It’s really too bad, because he used to enjoy it and asks for it often — but doesn’t recognize the current version as the same thing.

Why are you guys hating?

I wish I could give this five stars but but with the ads and purchasing it’s to much. I used to play this 6 years ago and it was fun but I remember always having to watch ads and pay for stuff, and I have to admit all of your apps are like this. I wish i could say these apps are for fun, but I’m starting to think you guys are just trying to get money. On a side note game mechanics are cool I like the hearts mechanic and the mini games, so yeah cool game but can you make some stuff free?

2024 EDIT: This review is for a version of the game released prior to the “All Engines Go” themed overhaul. It was originally four stars but I’ve since bumped it down to three in light of the changes made to the app. I love Thomas and friends magical tracks! And that should be no surprise, considering I am a huge Thomas fan. And since I also like model Railways, it only makes sense to download this app. Period. However, for an authentic experience, I suggest you get the train sets by Bachmann. Nonetheless, this game is flipping awesome!

Freight and engines

I love this game! But there’s a few problems problem you can’t have that many freight cars and you don’t get a break van. I would also love if you added Henry and Edward and made it so Gordon could pull a few express coaches and give Thomas Annie and Clarabell. Please actually respond without your thanks for your review bla bla bla. Actually do this because if you do this game would be really fun and slightly educational. #1 Thomas fan Oscar

Well duh

I know that one or two parents may complain that you can’t get everything for free but this is no different than when you make the mistake of letting your kid in the toy isle in Walmart or target and they threaten to have a tantrum if you don’t buy them that one minis pack so they have a one percent chance of getting the skeleton Thomas or whatever they want and yet you still complain about a guarantee what you get as if it actually matters.

Where is Edward and Henry

Hi budge, I am a father of someone who LOVES Thomas and friends, especially AEG. But he is wondering. Where are Edward and Henry in the game? He really wants them to be added. They should be in the game. Emily is in the game, but she has NEVER spoken! So why Budge, why are Edward and Henry not in the game??? Answer to me please. Don’t just say “sorry about that, if you have any more suggestions or questions, contact budge@canblablabla”, actually talk to the other workers, and see if they can add Edward and Henry. Shameless ads to manipulate kids.

I downloaded this game for my 2.5 and 6 year olds and paid the 20$ bundle since it was cute. Now I’m seeing that they put an animated ad at the top right every minute or two that is super distracting to kids. It has the budge monster shaking a paw patrol \ etc ad. You can’t turn it off in settings even. This is disgraceful, especially after paying for it. I’m never downloading a budge game again and will add bad reviews on each one I see this on. Please do the same when you see it. Horribly manipulative move by budge.

I’m a big fan of Thomas I have been watching and buying Thomas and freinds merchandise I also have dvds and expensive remote toys of Thomas here is reasons why I am no.1 fan:Thomas is a train and I like trains,the CGI voices sound amazing,even though you make goofs in episodes I dint even notice it,last there are so many episodes that it is like it will take me a hour to watch them all. That is why I love it

This Game is Great for all Ages.

I love this game so much. It’s a good game for Children, Teenagers, and Adults. But I don’t know why you have to pay money to buy items. It’s really cheap though! $1.99 for Mini Packs, $2.99 for Builder packs, and $4.99 for Mini Game Packs. In my opinion, this is a really good game for little kids, and family. Hope to see more updates!

Glitches

Very cute and fun game. But for $20 you would think that a game would not have as many glitches as this one. There are bugs that need to be worked out of this game and not just ignored. Would definitely purchase again and recommend if glitches are fixed.

Money grab

My son loves the app and it works well. However, it is so disappointing that each new little minigame costs $5 for only 1 short new challenge and that the game never gives bonuses. My son has been playing for many hours and he ran out of new toys to open after only a couple of hours. Many games encourage loyalty by doing specials, or freebies once you reach a certain stage. Don’t get me wrong, the game is cute but not one I will spend money on as there are many good child appropriate games that aren’t quite so cash needy.

Was a Great Game

I liked this game for my three year old because it was easy & he didn’t get frustrated from not being able to play the mini games or not winning. We have had the app for a long time and had unlocked many of the surprises. Recently, I was showing my younger child how to play and realized that everything is locked down now and you’re only allowed to open so many surprises. Now you have to pay for each train and their set of surprises except Thomas. I haven’t checked out how much that costs, but even if it’s 0.99 per train, that’s over $13.

It’s downgraded and not upgraded

I used to love Thomas games I used to have all 3 or 4 Thomas games made by budge and no one likes the. New rebooted Thomas and friends it has 2 rottin tomatoes witch means no one likes it and that means your what you think is upgraded Thomas games are actually downgraded so change all your Thomas games back to the original graphics because no one likes Thomas and friends all engines go and also 5 year old me loved all your train games budge but I only like two ones now Thomas and friends minis and that one chuggington building game

Costs a fortune

This is a fun game and my son loves it, but you can only play for about 5 minutes before needing to buy another pack to continue to get new adventures. It’s ridiculous. My son is constantly asking to buy another pack and I’m constantly telling him no since I’m not shelling out all that money on an app.

Cute app...but

This app is cute and my son really enjoys playing it. However, the game gets stuck quite a bit in the turn table area and then you can’t do anything. You have to shut down the app completely and then start all over again, which is very frustrating. It seemed to start happening after we bought all of the trains. Overall the game is cute and I would love to give it more stars, but this glitch happens too often.

Why did they change the game?

The old version of this app was my 3-4 year old son’s favorite game until they completely overhauled the game to match All Engines Go. Why not just release a new game and leave the old one alone? My son was in tears when he found out he could no longer play the old version. We spent money on unlocking content from that old version and now most of the characters he loved are gone. What a slimy and thoughtless move for fans of the old version of the game!

Pay to play for toddlers??

Great game and concept but theres about 20-30 mins of free contents and then you have to pay 5-10 dollars for each new packs which is maybe another 10-15 mins of entertainment. Its not even pay to win its pay to play every 15 mins

I have five things to say!!! Glitch

My son loves the game. However, there is a glitch. Every time we have to match a colored person and slide them onto the train. The matches do not move only the people that do not match move how disappointing we always have to restart the game.

Could be awesome

My little one has been playing for a few days now. I bought all the trains and shut off the pop ups. Now all the sudden the trains are constantly getting stuck making it impossible to play. My little one is super frustrated and I’m super upset I waisted the money.

Nostalgia and a money grab..

This is a nostalgic game I ever played in 2017 but I have something to say. Thank u for putting that bundle it’s a surprise but the mini games a money grab. But at least this gave me my old memories back and I will ask my parents to get another mini game or bundle.

Can’t restore purchases

My kid loves this game so I purchased one of the $5 packs for him yesterday. He had a blast playing with it. Today, it’s all locked again. I’ve tried to restore my purchase but the game says that there’s no purchase to restore. So frustrating! I can’t spend $5 a day on this thing.

Really shady ad practices

The in-game ads are set up in a really evil way. They come up constantly and only present items that can be purchased. You have to scroll to get to the ones you already have. When an ad pops up there is no way to exit out. You have to click on the ad then back out after. The gameplay looked fine but if you intend on having your kid play this at all, you need to disconnect the phone from the internet.

It is great! But I have a teeny, tiny concern.

I played the game before the preschool version came and it entertained me for about 3 months before getting bored and deleteing it. But I don’t know why they would change the trains to the preschool versions of the trains. That all I got to say.

If Thomas is five years old why does he have a drivers license? annoying monster in the corner trying to make me get more apps but I’m more scared of thomas than the monster. Thomas is now even less aerodynamic than he was before why is that? You would think that by now thomas would be super old but nooooooo. I would like it better if thomas was more old now. But he’s not. You’re not supposed to swallow helium but Thomas did it anyway

Far too many glitches and freezes

Every time I complete a mini game and change characters the trucks and tenders are glitched out and sometimes when you choose directions and the camera pans to the right next the tree tunnels next to to rolling stock stations the game wants to freeze up.

Just the worst: money, money, money

I can’t believe such a friendly show has created such a money-hungry app. Every turn is filled with $7 “in-games” and advertisements for other money-hungry games. My 5 year-old couldn’t play more than a minute without asking Dada to fix the game. And everywhere he wanted to go was another $$$.
