Very helpful app

When I want to know specifically what’s happening in Kansas, CJONLINE is the place to go. Even if you don’t subscribe right away, you can still get the gist from their headlines. And it’s inexpensive to subscribe! They even let you read a few articles per month for free. Especially useful for news about Topeka, and state government.

Wildcat Sports

I’m a proud alumnus of KSU and a subscriber to the online edition of your newspaper primarily to follow my alma mater’s athletic programs in your sports section. Lately it seems that, although KSU is the defending Big XII football champions and went further in the Big Dance than KU did, whoever’s job it is to select stories for your sports section has forgotten those facts. Every time I read the sports section KU stories outnumber KSU stories by a wide margin. You might want to look into a more balanced approach to your story selection, as I’m not the only KSU alum/fan who reads your paper.

Great way to get the latest headlines

I don’t always have time to go to the newspaper’s website or pick up a paper. This app is a fast way to get the headlines and read the news.

Doesn’t always work!

Signed up for digital subscription. Keeps having me sign in and just keeps spinning and spinning and never gets me signed in. Have talked to their technical people but not much help. Got me going once and said it was a glitch on their part. Started working but is now doing it again. Some phone helpers say they have too many newspapers to deal with so not much help there.

Worst newspaper app ever

Ever since cjonline changed to this app last March, it has been terrible. It only works for 1-2 days then stops working with a message to call customer service, saying “We’re sorry.” I have called dozens of times in order to fix the problem. If they were truly sorry they would get a better app. I am soon going to drop the digital paper.

Layout needs work

When I log into the app, all I see is sports, sports, sports, news, sports ,sports etc. I feel it would be better to have them grouped on the home page, without having to go to the menu.

Pop-up ads

Reading online with cell phone is tough enough. If we have to pay the yearly subscription price we should not be subjected to the annoying pop-up ads. Plus, can’t go back and see previous editions. So if miss a day you out of luck. COME ON MAN!!

News?

Purports to be providing news, but when you have to wade through articles which were updated 140+ days ago (business section), that isn’t news. We see the same "news" article day often day.

Articles Are Usually Stale!

Very frequently I find that the CJ Online articles are stale and there not a way to bring the most recently posted articles to the top. The app or the publisher need to give it attention.

Not all articles will enlarge For example, in the USA Today edition I could not access the article about the Reacher show I couldn’t access a main sports article on golf I hope this isn’t a common problem

Terrible news site

Two week old stories, poorly written articles. This is one of the worst news sites I have ever encountered.

Newspaper apps must be hard. They’re balky, bulky, and temperamental.

What happened

Has been working great but last 2 weeks cover screen comes on then right back to app sign. Says missing root. Now it loads Indian but goes no further. You had a great app before it started screwing up. Reloaded several times but it makes no difference. Please fix cause it was a 5 star for quite some time.

Website/app unusable

Perhaps it is because newspapers-even digital ones-are anachronistic; maybe it is because you can find better news for free, but the greedy use of obnoxious advertisements makes both the website and app unusable. People using this app do so because they don't know better.

App hasn’t worked for weeks

I used the app every day for months and then one day I received a random error (same as some of the other reviewers) and now the app just loads endlessly on launch screen. I’ve tried deleting and redownloading the app several times to no avail. A real disappointment.

Disappointing

I used to like this app, but haven’t used it for a while. Now when I attempt to use it, nothing happens and it appears to be hung up. Very disappointing.

Was great, now useless

Use to love this app but your last update made it useless. I see the Indian that sits atop the capital building but that's it. I hope it's fixed soon

This app is not free the newspaper wants you to pay a minimum of $9.95 a month just for the use of this app. ZERO STARS!!! The topuka journal is a joke.
