Great experience
I have had two sessions with my tutor for my five-year-old. So far it has been fantastic. My tutor is Amanda. She is very patient with my daughter. She helps her with sounds and recognition of letters and numbers.. so far I give this app a five I don’t normally write apps, but I believe this is one that needed rated. I highly recommend this app for the age group that I am working at because I don’t know how the older apps work for the older children.. I am glad that I found this app. I actually googled to find a tutor and these guys came up and I thought why not give it a try and so far it has been fantastic. And the communication from the developers is fantastic. They always asked me how the session went and how things are going and give me reminders of when the time is coming up, which is great because we live in a super busy world and we sometimes forget things

Good for easy subjects
n my recent experience with this service, I must say that it was far from satisfactory. I had decided to cancel my service, but the representative who attended to me insisted on giving me free hours, even though I made it clear that I wanted to cancel. After agreeing to the free hours, I was promised that I would not be charged after the free hours and that my service would be cancelled. However, I was charged, and when I called to get my money refunded, the representative named Jay was unprofessional and rude. He told me to go through my bank and cancel it, which was extremely frustrating. To make matters worse, the tutors that were provided by this service were underprepared and slow. They couldn't do half the problems that were given to them, and it was clear that they did not have a good understanding of the material. Additionally, they have a terrible response rate to emails, which only adds to the frustration. It's really disappointing to see such a lack of professionalism and quality in a service that's supposed to be helping students succeed. Overall, I would not recommend this service to anyone. It's a waste of time and money, and the quality of tutoring is very poor. I strongly suggest finding a different service that will actually provide you with quality help and support.

Varsity Tutor scammed me
I called varsity tutor at the end of September to request few sessions for only a month for my son preparing for his SAT. They told me 7 sessions will cost $579 and I opted or the 7 sessions ( average of 2 sessions per week) since the examination will just a month away. I gave them my credit card information and they took the $579 out immediately. Getting a tutor for my son was my first challenge as the Tutor assigned to him confirm but DOES NOT show up for sessions. My son will sit in front of the computer for hours waiting and no one will show up and no apologies. I requested for another tutor and in all my son only got 5 sessions instead of 7. The worst part is they started taking out $579 every month when in actual fact, I told them how many sessions I needed. By the time I realized they had taken the money three times without my knowledge. I called them to ask why they did that when I explained in clear language what I wanted and they told me they cannot refund me the money. First, they frustrated the service I contracted them for and then taking money out of my account without me authorizing them. Varsity Tutor Refund my money.

So grateful
I can’t begin to verbalize how grateful I am for Varsity tutors. My son was tutoring to pass his EMT National registry. He had been losing confidence after 2 failed attempts prior to tutoring. The cadet program he is currently in only allows 3 attempts to pass or you cannot continue in the program. I learned about Varsity Tutors while researching online and it sounded like the perfect fit for his schedule since he was working full time. He connected with “Julia” his tutor immediately at his first session. She was so flexible with him working around her busy schedule as well as his. I slowly saw his confidence come back and he completed all of his recommended hours. We just learned yesterday that he passed his 3rd attempt of his National Registry EMT exam and it brought us to tears. Thank you to Varsity Tutors and a special shout out to Julia his awesome tutor. We will forever be grateful to you!

ACT tutoring
I signed my son up for Varsity Tutors to help improve on the English section of the ACT. In doing the practice exams with me at home, he was consistently scoring a 28 which brought down his overall score. We signed up for the 6 week program and could not be happier with the results. Varsity Tutors will ask questions about your child to help find a compatible tutor. Having that connection and finding the right tutor is key! They did a fantastic job in pairing up my son. Michael Bay was professional and knowledgeable. He would send me notes after each session, videos of the lessons and he came up with a strategy that was able to improve my sons English score to a 33 with a Composite score of 33!!! I highly recommend Varsity Tutors and will be back for the college essay help and tutoring for my other 3 kids. Thank you so much!!!

Amazing, but is missing just one thing
This app is absolutely amazing. It allows you to sign up for day camps and group camps to join. It provides the recommended ages that would most likely fit a certain class, and it gives you a zoom link around 2 hours before the meeting, so that when the time comes, you can just click that and not have to type anything. (Most would call that being lazy, but it’s actually quite helpful!) I joined a fan fiction writing camp hosted by: Britt Sherman, that was many grades ahead of me. But, I actually learned to write much stronger fanfics because of this, and I even made a nice group of friends. The one problem is, people under the ages of 18 can’t host any group meetings or day camps on the app. No matter how good they are at that subject. If Varsity tutors could make a place for children of the ages 13+ to host or cooperate meetings, that would be amazing! (Most of the classes are free during summer time, so try joining some now!)

Chemistry FTCE
I had taken the chemistry test two times and did not pass the test. I knew that I needed help and I needed a good tutor. When I first signed up for tutoring I received a tutor and I was looking for something a little different. So I reached out to varsity tutors advisors and they were helpful and assigned me to a new tutor. We worked so hard tougher. She motivated me, she helped me see problems that I couldn’t see myself when doing practice problems, and together I got a very good foundation for chemistry. She explained new concepts very well so I could take very good notes then apply those concepts. This foundation help me pass my chemistry test and I’m official chemistry teacher. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I thank this service without them I may not have passed but I did and forever am grateful.

Would NOT Recommend At All- unfairly Charge Clients
I had a class for a month. The classes were just fine and You are automatically charged on your account. I made sure to let them know that I need classes for only a month but they charged me again for a second time and did not refund. I still took the classes for a second time just to make sure to use the hours. I made sure to call them and let them know that I do not need these services further. However, they kept insisting that I might in the future and paused my account instead of deleting it. They told me they would call me again to see if I needed any classes in march. No one called me instead I received a charge of $329 on my account (for nothing) even though I had not taken any classes nor did I intend to in the future. And they wouldn’t refund my money. I would not recommend any one going for Varsity Tutors as they are unclear with there billing process and are ok with charging their clients money for literally no reason.

Restoring My Vision

I have run a home day care for 7 years, been a foster parent to 15 children, taught Pre-K and Kindergarten for 8 years, run before/after school programs, summer camps, and have been a substitute teacher in 3 different school districts. I have been blessed to receive a grant to purchase a 24-passenger bus that has now become our Mobile Academic Program. I am grateful to have been selected to provide tutorial assistance to over 50 students from all across the country during the pandemic and afterwards.

Huge waste of time and money
I spoke with a representative and told them I did not want a subscription, I needed 1 - 4 hour session I could schedule and learn all the basics of Quickbooks. when I got the tutor, he said it would be better to learn it incrementally and wanted to hear more about my business to better understand how to help me. We spent an hour talking about my company and he gave me a website to go to for a Quickbooks tutorial. We spent the next session trying to figure out budgeting, but he had desktop and no knowledge of QB online. I tried to get another tutor to try to help me with an Excel problem I was having and couldn’t get a session without wifi even though I had full cell service. I gave up with some time left on credit and they charged me the next month because I didn’t cancel the subscription I said I didn’t want. All said, I spent over $700 and the only thing I learned is to pay better attention to subscriptions

Not Worth The Hassle!!
I paid $500 for 15 hours of tutoring- reps on phone sounded very professional and tutoring sounded promising. We were paired up with one tutor, but she cancelled on us after our times didn’t work. A week later, we got a new tutor, but she never showed up for our first session. Our daughter spent 30 minutes waiting for the tutor on an empty screen. We called customer and IT support, but they were not helpful and only could tell us to use instant tutoring. We finally got connected to use instant tutoring, and the tutor asked my daughter to pull up her homework. She switched tabs to get her homework, and then was disconnected by Varsity. Not very impressed with the tutoring we have already paid for. Varsity took our money right away, but it has been two weeks and we have not yet gotten through with a tutor that has lasted longer than two minutes! Find another tutoring service, this will not work for actual academic problems.

This update is a no! Please read.
Hi ofc it’s a app apps have bugs it’s normal. I love the app it’s very cool that you can write stuff on the screen and everything. It always has bugs which is okay, but then this update came and everything went left! It’s so bad it’s not funny. It has so many bugs and so many problems I honestly, think that this update just made it even worse. I never seen it this bad. I can’t even hear what my teacher is saying most of the time. My teacher can’t even hear me or sometimes can’t even see me. Sometimes my picture on the screen looks like hers like we have the same face if something! It is really bad, you guys really need to fix theses problems. Sometimes it don’t even let me join the session. Please read and fix thanks 😊

Not worth the money
I signed up for month to month service for my 11th grader even though I thought it was pricey at $579 per month. I needed two tutors, one for arts and one for science. Arts tutor was good but the sciences one was not and had to get a replacement. Read the terms of service carefully because the sales person will not tell you about some of the gotcha things of the service. The service auto renews even on the month to month option. Hours expire monthly and they are unwilling be flexible on when you can use them. You cancel the service from the app or website. When you call the sales person tries every trick in the book to keep you signed on even when you tell them you don’t need it. That was annoying! Overall I would not use this service again. It’s expensive and doesn’t deliver the value equal to the cost. I would say it’s better to find a local tutor in your area.

Great tutors and great system
My son was struggling with math and went through two well known tutoring companies prior to Varsity. He was still failing. I started researching online and I saw the great reviews. They were already conducting virtual tutoring from 2018. They have such a great system and very interactive. My son was failing Math in 2018 with two exams left for the semester. His tutor managed to not only get him to pass but score a 94 on his Final. They both worked a few times a week to accomplish this. We were so happy and again until I had this experience I wouldn’t believe it. I don’t have to drive anywhere and it’s recorded. My son is currently receiving tutoring for the SAT exam outstanding tutors. Thank you so much Varsity Tutors Rosa Ryan

Waste of time
This was the FIRST session for my daughter who wanted to use Varsity Tutors for enrichment to make sure she’s ready for her tests and if she’s uneasy to get help vs me taking her in early to see her teacher so she can continue to do well in AP Algebra. The tutor was a no show until we reached out via messaging on the app, he came into the session and left and came in and left. Thirty minutes late he messages for her to join and he is now ready for the session. We declined because she went in instant tutor so she could get help. The instant tutor was able to help answer two questions but was unsure of a third algebra equation and my daughter knew it was incorrect to what the teacher had shown so they got off the session in order to not waste any more time. My daughter also said she could hear the instant tutor typing in when she was explaining the question. This was not a good experience at all.

Japanese tutoring
My child is in a Japanese dual language program and has always really enjoyed the experience. However returning to school after Covid has been rough and she was very far behind. It reached the point where she became to anxious and sky to even try to participate in class. We turned to Varsity for help with tutoring and her tutor, Lucy has been grade. After a quarter , the 7 areas measured at report cards went from all “does not meet expectations “ to “ meeting” or “close to meeting “. More important , she likes speaking and practicing again and is excited about her improved abilities. Thanks so much !

Worst customer service and very wrong cancellation process
I have canceled service multiple times since August over the phone and everytime every new billing cycle they are automatically charging my account for services. There is no cancellation process on the portal customer do by themself and they are forced to call customer service and they don’t do their job and every month recurring charges keeps occurring and upon repeated calls they say I have requested extra hours I haven’t don’t anything since August but still ended up paying a lot and during last call even after stating issue multiple time and explicitly mentioned for my account not to be charged at all but again they charged $209 Looks like they intentionally not cancelling service and what they do we can’t see not we have ability to cancel service on our end. This is fraud

Waste of Time & Money
My son was enrolled for one to one SAT prep. at Varsity Tutors and we had a very bad experience. First of all there is no plan what to teach the students. They just taught random topics and the tutors was changed in the middle of the program with no proper communication or handover between the tutors. The second tutor was not even aware of what was taught in the beginning and she was also not aware that she is the second tutor for the student who is already in the middle of the program. The management is least bothered about our concerns and not even bothered on what are the topics covered and what is the progress on that. The next issue is with Tutors who are also not interested to know the students needs. The prime focus was only making money and not on the quality of education. We had a worst experience with Varsity Tutors. So don’t waste money and time.

Incredibly Frustrating
The systems they have set up for charging clients seem intentionally set up to take more money than they have earned. Be very careful! Even after I pointed out where they clearly made the mistake that cost me hundreds of dollars. Instead of just crediting those hours to my account so that I could use them, they said they would. “ Reimburse me” it’s been at least a week or two and I have seen nothing. It’s just as I suspected. And now I’m still on the hook to pay the money for them to do absolutely nothing for me for the next three months because of misinformation when I was deciding to sign up. The tutoring itself was fine. I liked the teacher. But I would never intentionally get involved with a company that behaves like that.

Worth every penny
I was hesitant about Varsity at first because of the price, but if you’re struggling with a course I promise it is worth it. The tutoring work board is fantastic, someone with the company calls once or twice a week to check in and make sure everything is going okay, there are tutors available all the time to help even if it’s not your regular tutor, and if you have a problem they handle it in a timely manner. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Varsity Tutoring. Highly recommend from me, and if it isn’t for you they have a 30 day refund policy. Spend the money and pass your class. It’s worth it.

Impressed with tutoring services and customer service
Before we enrolled with Varsity Tutors my daughter avoided school work, especially reading and writing. I tried to work with her myself on improving her English and reading, one on one. It was a struggle to get her motivated and we both would end up in frustrations. Since we have been working with our tutor, my daughter’s attitude is much more positive and looks forward to her tutoring sessions. Definitely worth the money. Our evenings are more spent on laughters than frustrations. Also everyone we have worked with at Varsity Tutors have been very helpful & awesome customer service.

Adequate, but that’s about it
Whether I’m on an IOS or a Windows device, the VT functionality leaves a lot to be desired. More bandwidth is needed, and a more accessible and reliable tool is needed for group interface. In working with a group of three students, I could only see or hear two at a time, no matter what we tried, and even with tech support on the other end. If you expect to capitalize on the current boom in home-based education, you seriously need to upgrade the system. It’s also cumbersome to have to upload documents that can’t be easily edited on screen. Please consider using something like Google Docs for immediate editing. I’m an English teacher, and my students and I are hampered by the existing system.

Bad Tutors and No Refund
My tutors didn’t even know how to do the problems I was doing. When I asked for a tutor, I told them I wanted to prepare for the Math II Subject Test but the tutor got every single question I asked him wrong. I would ask him a question and he would answer it by saying well i guess you do this and this so you get this answer, but then we checked the answer and he got it wrong too. Also, I asked Varsity Tutors to refund us and they wouldn’t even though I didn’t use those hours yet. So now I have a bunch of hours that I paid for sitting there because if I use a those hours it would be a waste of time. If you are unsure if you should use this service, DO NOT USE IT because you will not get a refund and they force you to pay for a lot of classes at the beginning so you can’t even decide if you like their service or not.

Fantasic organization
I have worked with several of the tech who assist with online connectivity for tutoring; several of the advisers regarding scheduling & other “how to’s”; & several of the students-everybody has expressed a very positive attitude. The online techs will resolve any connectivity or software issues within a minute or less. The online advisers have always been friendly and informative. The clients I get through Varsity Tutors are top notch students who are wanting to learn! One of the best decisions of my life! App works great, too. I can access this from my laptop, my iPad, and my iPhone!

Money grab app
So frustrated, one severely overpriced for what you get. I had to go through multiple tutors to find one that’d fit my schedule and when I did find one they couldn’t help me with what I was doing. Even if you sent the practice problems or pictures of the chapter days beforehand. Having to re explain what we’re doing in class every time n having them try to figure out how to do it takes away valuable time that I paid for. When I tried to cancel my subscription it became even more of a hassle. I basically had to yell at the phone representative because after 10 minutes of them trying to get me to buy more sessions. I have unsubscribed from multiple email chains and to this day they litter my inbox. Poor business practice and a waste of money.

Lauren is such a joy to work with "My son just completed his final tutoring session with Lauren . I would highly recommend her for any child's tutoring needs. She is very reliable and worked extremely well with my son. She and my son connected right away and had very positive tutoring sessions. Lauren assessed my son's needs and tailored the sessions around them. She is extremely knowledgeable in great tips, and suggestions, and she communicated well with both myself and my son. My son has a great new sense of confidence going into his class. She wish her the best of luck in her new job. Thank for matching her with us.

I decided to get a tutor for a research methods class that I was in desperate need of help in. I was struggling with this class & had a final due in a very short amount of time. I called & it was a very thorough process, assuring that I was fit with the perfect person. It took about 15 mins to find a match & my tutor was AMAZING. Well knowledgeable in the field of Research Methodology. Sylvanus schedule was very flexible & we met sometimes twice a day for 2hrs. I’m glad to say I received a 100 on my final! I highly recommend Varsity Tutors, well worth the investment!

Awesome Experience!
This was the best experience I’ve had in an educational setting in many many many years. James was very friendly, very interested we had a lot in common about Exchange Students. And I can truly say that I would neverGo back to a group experience when I realized how much you could connect in a one on one. And the icing on the cake or the cherry on the Sunday was receiving the email with the video of our lesson so that I can review it. That is truly Awesome! Thank you James I look forward to many lessons to come!

Professional and Attentive
I am enjoying Varsity Tutors as an “employer”. Their concern for the students as well as contracted tutors is above average. I love the timely reminders as I am sure some tutors need them. Tech support is awesome and quick to respond. All questions are answered rapidly with information that resolves the request for help or honestly states they do not have the answer. Feedback is also given when seen as needed. It follows an informative voice rather than one of authoritarian correction. I work for another tutoring company who does not have Varsity Tutor’s professional demeanor and from whom I will soon depart. Thank you for all that YOU do. I appreciate it. Ann Schide

Lousy service
This platform asked their tutors to travel up to an hour to earn only $24 per hour. There is no guarantee on the minimum lesson time so you are being asked to travel for a long time just to teach an hour and a half. by the time you factor in travel, you’re making around $10/hour, so it’s simply not worth it. Their occasional online tutoring assignments only pay $15 per hour, less than a living wage for any major metropolitan area in the US. Maybe this service works better for someone in a different region, but I live in one of the most populous areas in the US, and it was terrible. This company is in the service of skimming huge amount of money off of what they charge customers, not helping students learn. Not to mention, being inappropriately contacted by creepy clients.

Expensive... but high quality!!
We have been matched with two HIGHLY professional tutors who work well with our son. The customer service dept. is friendly and helpful. The communication with staff and tutors is very easy using the App. I love that I get a written summary/report of all progress and tasks from each session. I would recommend this 100%.... except I have to take a huge chunk off that rating due to the cost. If we didn’t have funding from our son’s disability services to cover the cost, this would be completely absurd to pay for.

Passed my ultrasound registry!
I worked with my tutor Sarah for SPI (an ultrasound registry) for 24 hours total and passed my registry today! Our approach was 2 sessions a week, 2 hours each. After the first week she saw where I needed help the most and came up with her own plan to guide me. She provided an abundance of sample questions, review materials, and we went over my own review material. She was very easy to work with and honestly I enjoyed our time! I would recommend for any students or learners struggling to grasp their concepts.

Terrible Experience
Purchase the 24hrs tutoring package by January. 2 first sessions the tutor did not show up, so I asked for a new one. Sessions should be 2hrs each. The second tutor gave me 2 sessions, one of 1hr and one of 30 minutes because she felt sick. After 6 weeks I was supposed to be taking the test, but I barely finished one whole session. So I asked for a refund. Their communication is also terrible. After all the emails I sent with complains, I had maybe one short response saying “we will find a new tutor” and that was it. Interesting that they are just a third party that put tutors and students together but they can not give a decent customer service. I am still trying to see what is the point of this company. They made me waste so much valuable time showing no respect.

Mar Leakey is awesome
I haven’t done math in over 20 years. I am now taking a business course that involves Marketing Math. I was totally utterly lost. After just one session with Nat, I was able to use basic concepts that he taught me to navigate around my first assignments. By the second session, I was able to answer more difficult questions correctly and felt so confident. I have asked him to keep me as a student for at least another several months. He is an excel whiz - another skill I need to learn. Also has a great personality - is patient and listens

Not great
They say you can get a new tutor in 24 hours. Not true. We had a tutor assigned who did absolutely nothing for a one hour session. Nothing academic. No advice. No feedback. No value added. Her notes on the session were that my son was a nice boy. They assigned us a new person after we called, emailed, texted and begged. The new tutor only worked limited hours during the week. Never worked weekends. Ever. We specifically said we could only do weekends and needed a weekend tutor. We had it in notes and emails and I guess nobody read it or heard me say it. Then we were told they didn’t know when they could get us a new session. And they aren’t sure about refunds. Well because it takes so long to actually find the tutor and it’s a monthly membership, it’s hard to fit in the sessions you paid for and it’s use it or lose it. If you have a ton of time and money, it could work. If you have a busy teenager and you can’t spend four hours arranging sessions, this service might not work well.

Convenient Tutors Anytime Anywhere
We have sufficiently succeeded school this year! Started the year struggling with pre-algebra math. Now we have a better understanding. The best thing to give your children is to build a good foundation for their education. Thanks to Varsity Tutors! We recommend them. The online platform was our best choice, the flexibility was at your fingertips. Their instant tutors were awesome for last minute struggles on homework problems. Looking forward to purchasing more hours and schedule as needed for the upcoming years.

LIFE SAVER
There are not enough positive words in the English language that I can use to accurately describe how amazing this program has been for my son. He is a very good student earning a 4.0 GPA on average in all of his high school courses. Spanish has been exceptionally difficult as he is currently taking it at the community college. The on-demand tutors are great and his one on one tutor, Deborah, is exceptional!!!!! The app is easy to navigate & feedback is instantaneous. Expensive but worth every penny! What a Life Saver!!!!!!!!!!!!

Warning
WARNING: hours expire after 1 year and they do not tell you that - apparently it’s in the “fine print” when they send you an email authorizing the payment. I purchased 18 hours via phone ($1350) for my daughter who was away at school - she used only 1.5 hours then dropped the class. When I requested an extension of time to use them, they denied it. So I tried to use the remaining balance on a prepaid virtual class (before expiration) but there were no classes open/available to do so. Waste of money-and very disappointed that this company would not even try to come up with any other solution or even partial credit for what I spent. Use someone else!

Terrible refund process
They do not allow you to get refunds, they will drop your calls, and make getting your hundreds of dollars back a nightmare. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have been charged multiple times for a service I cancelled more than once. Once they have your credit card info they will continue to reopen your account and charge you upwards of $600 and unless you jump through the hoops to get your money back and you pay attention to your credit card statements they will just steal your money. Great service, absolutely abysmal customer service and refund policies. Wish I never used them, or heard of them.

Would love to see better push notifications
Currently, the push notifications only show the subject. It would be awesome if they could give more information, such as the time requested, and allow tutors to reject an opportunity from the push notification itself. Other than that, it’s a great way to manage my sessions when I’m away from my computer (such as when I’m on the bus or at work). The iPad app works well for hosting sessions as well, though I think the smaller screen would make it pretty difficult to accomplish much.

5 stars!
I cannot recommend these guys enough! They are professional, friendly and SO helpful. My tutor, Dr. Geoffrey Reynolds was the best. I was very doubtful anyone would be able to help me with statistics for my graduate level psychometrics class. He got down on my level (which was pretty low) and explained things very simply, without making me feel like a complete idiot! I’ve always said “it’s all about having a good teacher,” and this again proves my point. I would highly recommend these guys!!

Easy to work with, professional, and motivating.
I was a little wary of the idea of online tutoring, but these people push you to schedule, they follow up to make sure you’re getting exactly what you need, and they express concern when they see that you haven’t scheduled in awhile. Kinda like, “Son, have you done your homework yet?” (But in a loving way.) So if you appreciate someone who is looking out for your best interests and who is fair and proactive about helping you, using them is a home run.

1:1 tutoring
I preferred to be on 1:1 session than in a class session. I am more focus and not disrupted when answering questions. The only problem is money, I can’t afford to pay, but I got the offer for 8 sessions (class with minimum of 8 students) plus 4 hour 1:1 tutoring that was a big plus to me. Overall I would recommend varsity tutor to those who will take the NCLEX RN exam. The instructors are great, they will help you understand the question before answering it.

Efficient and Fast
I have been using Varsity Tutors for my kids for almost 2 years and I am very pleased with the quality of their tutors, their flexibility and quick response. You can find tutors in all kind of subjects. My son needed help in AutoCad and Varsity Tutors was able to place him very quick with a tutor and he got the help he needed to succeed. For more common subjects as math and english you can find help right away, it is a relief to get help so fast!

Great
This has been great for helping me with my summer class. I was doing homework at 9 pm and was really struggling. I was able to get a real person on demand to help me solve my problem. My scheduled tutor and instant tutors I’ve met with have all been of consistently fantastic quality. I was hesitant to spend the money, but I was desperate so I bit the bullet. It’s definitely worth the money for me. If I could afford to subscribe year round I absolutely would!

Ms. Virginia- Elementary School Reading
Ms. Virginia is an excellent tutor. She is helping my 8-year old daughter with reading. According to my daughter’s teacher, she has improved by 3 levels in only two months, which is remarkable. My daughter has such a good time during the tutoring sessions, she independently goes into her room and signs in early. I can hear her laughing and talking away from downstairs. I couldn’t say more great things about Ms. Virginia! Highly recommend her!

Convenient and effective product
Each student is unusual in their own right and our son is no different. He was paired with the perfect person, Teddy, to lead him through a study of Neuroscience. Our son is so happy to be learning subject material which really interests him but isn’t offered through “normal” channels. How would we ever have found this wonderful teacher/person/pre-med student if it hadn’t been for Varsity Tutors matching us up across the miles. Worth the investment!

TERRIBLE TUTORING AND DECEPTIVE PRACTICES
I enrolled with Varsity Tutors for SAT tutoring for my son. The tutoring hours are expensive, but I was verbally assured that I would be refunded for all time not used. Not true. If you do not seek a refund within 30 days of signing up, you will get a refund. It is in the small print. DO NOT LISTEN TO THIER CLAIMS ON THE PHONE. It took weeks for them to find a local tutor and she was about 80 years old and out of touch with the needs of a teenager. When I enrolled my son, I explained that I would need a live human being to be a tutor. We finally had to use a virtual tutor, which was not effective. The tutoring was substandard, expensive and did not improve his scores. I would hire Kaplan or just about any other tutoring service.

Very, very nice tutors but my son made an “F”
Can’t say enough about how nice each and every person is at Varsity Tutors. Unfortunately my son made an “F” in both College chemistry and it’s chemistry lab, despite having a tutor weekly for the entire semester. As per the tutor’s request, I did not log on to my son’s college Acct a few times a week and check his assignments/grades (as I had done in the past). Evidently he wasn’t doing his assignments and received “0” for months. Not sure why she felt confident with that plan but It didn’t work.😟 I am very disappointed in his grade. He did make a “C” in Calculus with ½ semester tutoring though.
