Like the convenience of the check-in, but the location/class finder needs A LOT more upgrades
The check-in is super convenient, as well as looking at my plan/personal info. The part I find most annoying is the locations and class schedule. It’s not user friendly. There needs to be an option for using location to find gyms, I don’t care about seeing them in alphabetical order and getting ones for Colorado when I live in Utah. To me, the class schedule finder is not as user friendly as the old VASA app; there are not that many classes offered to really justify needing a “filter” option, and it just makes more work to find the classes in general.

It’s all fine until you try to cancel
My husband and I opened accounts a few months ago. We enjoyed the gym for the duration in which we were members. We tried to cancel the membership because we are moving to a place with a free gym on site. In the process of cancelling, we were told both accounts were cancelled but we found out later that mine was left open. I only knew because I got an email warning me that I had a pending transaction from VASA, we called and they said that fee would be waived and we would be fine. A few days later, the fee was taken out and we had to use the *awful* online help service (because they hung up on us on the phone three times) and they said that we aren’t getting that money back even tho it wasn’t our fault and so we were charged, in all, $145 to close our accounts. Lack of communication, awful customer service. Not to mention, no sight of a refund for their error… but thank goodness they waived the $25 cancellation fee *the second time* we had to cancel. Just be warned that if you try to cancel they make you wait until they get their monthly and THEN you can cancel after paying for a month you can’t use. In all, we liked it when we were members, but it all goes to one star when you’re treated like garbage for just needing to cancel.

Con artists posing as a fitness club
Vasa is horrible company and I wish we never signed up… they lured us in with a 30 day *free* studio membership and tricked us into adding a member (which didn’t show their would be a single charge but in reality that extra member was being charged full price so now my wife’s card is getting charged double!) and then when we want to cancel we get hit with all these hidden fees, some we knew about and some we WERE NOT TOLD ABOUT!… and had to learn from customer support which I waited an hour for them to give me a callback…. there’s the $50 yearly fee charged after the first 30 days(they said 2 months), there’s the $25 fee if you want to switch plans (why!?) $25 fee for canceling in the first 6 months, and when you cancel you get charged for the next month because they need a “30 day notice”, like..just because they can and apparently it was in the fine print…. What else is in the fine print that I don’t know about???? Do they charge $0.25 for every mile you run on a treadmill, do they charge $5 for every shower you take? Do they charge a $200 fee for every 9 months you stay?? They could literally put whatever they want in the fine print and get away with it because “you signed a contract” this is the slimiest, sleaziest company I’ve ever dealt with.

Worst registration ever
I was trying to help my wife register for Vasa and get an account but the entire registration process was by far the most confusing and frustrating process I have ever dealt with in a modern day app ever. Terrible UI and completely archaic. First it wouldn’t confirm whether or not she had actually paid for the membership and we were convinced we were going to get overcharged. Then it was nearly impossible to find the activation section in the app to even create an account. THEN we couldn’t even submit her account with our own password, we had to use their suggested weird password even though it had the option of our own password. Then we had to get a temporary password in order to create our own password. THEN we tried to change her automatically generated “home gym” to another one nearby and it tried to charge us $25 to simply declare a “home gym”. Most ridiculous and annoying registration ever, but the actual functionality in an active account is great. Seriously developers, you’ve got some stuff to fix in this thing because it’s the worst design I’ve ever dealt with, a 15 year old who’s taken an intro to typing course could design a better UI than this

Says I don’t have an account
I tried to login to the new app but it says that the email I’m using doesn’t have an account connected to it. I went back into the old app and sure enough under my account info there was the email address I was using to try to login to the new app. So do I have an account or no...? This isn’t my first bad experience with VASA’s account system. Last year I was trying to figure out how to reactivate my account but there was no information on the website or app about how to do that. The system didn’t recognize that the email I was using already had an account attached to it so it ended up letting me make a second account with the EXACT SAME EMAIL. That also somehow reactivated my old account without letting me know, and I ended up getting charged twice the next month as a result. VASA please fix these problems, I’m sure I’m not the first person to have them. It makes you look very unprofessional.

Convenient
Most of the 1 stars are about the gym and not the app itself. As someone who was with Genesis for years, vasa is 10 times better and they offer the same Les Mills classes. But this app is truly amazing for making my gym experience so much more. I like the links to InBody for my scans. Check in is so much easier since my old gym had a key tag and I always forgot to grab it if I took a different vehicle. I like the badges that you can work towards and I love that I don’t have to take a picture of the class schedule, it’s right in the app. I do wish I could update my photo as I please but overall it’s night and day to my old gyms system

Ridiculously flawed app
I have downloaded this app and set up accounts for both myself and my husband. We normally share the same email but I had to set up separate emails for each of us. After downloading and setting up the app, the next time we attempted to log in to reserve an hour for work out per COVID, neither of us were able to access the app. After failed attempts we contacted support followed instructions which failed so we actually went to VASA and had a staff member help us to set up the apps once again. The very next time we attempted to enter the app it would not recognize emails/passwords. Contacted support and was given new registration keys for each of us. I entered, reset password then went to log in and again it would not recognize. I am sick of farting around with this app. If we get turned away because we haven’t reserved a time slot next time we go to VASA we will drop the membership.

DONT CHANGE PLANS ON THE APP
This app is alright for clocking in as the scanner is pretty easy to find, and see your history. But DO NOT change plans on the app, call customer support instead. I changed plans thru here and it made me make a new password which I found odd. Which then just made a whole new account for me, It had all my previous accounts info and payments except the the check in history which I thought was alright. Then I started getting charged for this new account and my previous one, was told it would not charge by next paycheck. And then I got charged for both again and had to call in. Save yourself some money and just don’t do anything but check in with the app, talk to the people to do anything else or you’ll lose a bit of money.

SCAM!!!!
I purchased a membership in the summer of 2023 and went to cancel a few months later. I was informed that with my current plan, it would be a $50!?!?!?!? Charge to cancel before six months of membership. So I waited. On month 8 I went to cancel again, it tried to charge me the SAME $50 on top of the $25 cancellation fee. I called the gym, they hung up on me multiple times. I tried contacting customer service, never heard back. Finally I was able to cancel my account for the normal fee, but now all of a sudden I’m getting bombarded with phone calls from a collection company trying to collect close to $200?!?!?!?!? From me?!?!?? Make it make sense. Telling me that I have several months of overdue payments when I cancelled way back in January of 2024. Why will nobody help me with this. Do I have to report to the Better Business Bureau?????

Negative starts if I could!! Only 1 because you can’t go lower!!
Biggest legal scam in the world. They literally have fees hidden everywhere for everything you could possibly want to do. They tell you you can get a membership for only 9.99 a month but once you sign up, surprise there’s a 99$ membership you have to pay, want to cancel? Surprise you have to pay another fat fee! Think your rate is going to stay constant (they tell you it will) surprise they increase it to whatever they want for no reason and if you ask about it they tell you that you can pay a big fee to “lock in” your rate - and it still does nothing. And the worst part is none of these fees are disclosed in their sign up or fine print or anywhere! If you’re thinking of joining vasa just know you’re requesting a scam artist to take your money.

Kicks me out everytime I try to scan in
I’ve had my membership for over a month and everytime I try to open the app, it kicks me out and shuts down. And after three weeks it’s finally let me open the app. But nothing even loads and the check in button is behind all the other icons at the bottom. Trying to click the check in button kicks me out of the app completely and shuts it down as well. Even after restarting my phone, uninstalling and reinstalling the app over a dozen times, and just plain opening and closing the app it still doesn’t even work. I have to ask the staff to just check me in with my phone number Everytime I workout. Such a laggy app and honestly the membership with its extra charge after the first two months of signing up feels scummy too.

Nice look
When I first downloaded the app to my iPhone8 I was not able to login. I was a little worried, because I had already deleted the old app. It was night time, so I texted tech support using the number provided and went to bed. The following morning, I received a reply with instructions and an activation key. That did the trick! The new app has a good look and feel. I can’t wait to go to the gym and find out if it logs my workouts correctly and is still linked to my benefits program. Update: I am able to track workouts with apps on my watch and phone, so there is no need to have that feature in the Vasa app.

Make it easier to look at class schedules across multiple gyms.
I am the type of person willing to drive a gym quite further than I live to find my group classes that fit my schedule. That means it would be excellent to see the class schedules of all the gyms on one page of classes within 25 miles or maybe up to 50 miles from me. But with the Vasa app as it is currently, I have to click on the menu button, click locations, click other gyms, then scroll through the many locations to find the next gym to look at their individual class schedule. I will have to do this 10 times because that’s how many gyms I have to sort through to find the class I want to take. Please update your app to make it easier to view the class schedules of multiple gyms. Thank you.

Why is this so hard!
Update: I tried again now a few days later and it gave me an error that I have already registered....so it made me reset my password and then allowed me in. So I’m in...the app is great for using the barcode, can’t find much use beyond that though. If I could add the barcode to Apple Wallet and have the barcode show up on my lock screen when I get to the gym then that would be vawsome and worth 5 stars! Old: Why is it so hard to make a decent app! I can’t even register!!! I have an activation key, I put in my email and a password and it just says there was an error. I really wish there was a different gym to go to. Vasa just can’t make a good app

Unable to See Class Schedule at Other Gyms
I love Vasa and the app is great too. I would’ve given it 5 stars except, I’m only able to see the class schedules for my home gym from the app. When I click Other Gyms, the list doesn’t appear, it’s just blank, I’m unable to book a class at other locations, and I cannot see the other gyms’ hours or locations. I wish it was more convenient to check the class schedule at other gyms without having to Google them.

Easy to use
This app is so easy to use! Within 5 minutes of logging in, I was able to clearly see what I needed... including my gym schedule, my barcode to get in, my account, details of my home location and hours, and also I was helped from Daria, she has great customer service. My email wasn’t working at first and I texted the “help” number and Daria helped me understand and made instructions clear so that I could log in. I appreciate this service, and I appreciate this app! Making the world easier thru apps! Yay!

"The Gym Membership Struggle: Cancelling at VASA Fitness
I've been trying to end my gym membership, and it's been a real headache. Initially, the long wait times and app issues made canceling a hassle. Even after an in-person visit where they assured me it was canceled, I still got charged for an extra month. Waiting for callbacks feels like forever. VASA Fitness seems more interested in money than their members. If you're considering joining, be cautious – they don't seem to value their customers. I'm determined never to deal with this awful establishment again. They've wasted so much of my time and caused unnecessary anxiety for something I willingly paid for. Shame on you, VASA Fitness. I hope taking my money was worth it.

Finally able to log in to app!
For about 2 years the app has not worked on my phone. I’ve mentioned this to staff at the gym when they ask about it, but they never once told me I could/should reach out to their app support (not the best customer service on part of the gym staff). Well, I finally found the app support info and reached out to the support staff. It took 3 days of texting back and forth with support staff, but I am finally able to log in to the app! Hooray! Thanks for your help and persistence.

Billing is a JOKE
I froze my VASA account back in September. At the beginning of January I was charged the monthly fee. When I called, I was informed it was because a freeze could only last 90 days, which I was never informed of. I was given zero notice that my 90 days was going to run out or that my account was going to be charged again. At this point I decided to cancel all together and was told I would still have a charge come out in February. It is completely ridiculous and I only see it as stealing money from customers, as I moved away and live nowhere close to a VASA gym. There should be no reason to charge me in January and February for a service I cannot even use. Completely unethical.

Gym locations difficult
This app seems to automatically make your home gym something else even though I accepted location services. When I go to other gyms, it seems to glitch when I click on the gym I want and opens some other location instead. This is annoying, we should be able to choose our home gym or change it easily. I also would like the calendar more if you could add free classes to it just so you could set up a schedule for yourself and get reminders. But no you can only add the ones you “book” which are premium classes. So unless you’re a premium member I guess, then this app is pretty useless.

If I didn’t have to have the app for my membership, I wouldn’t
For checking in, the app is fine. But if you want to do anything else, like check the schedule of other locations, it’s impossible. This app is not user-friendly, it is not intuitive, it’s hard to find any of the information that you need – unless you want to upgrade your membership. The app freezes every time I look at other locations, and particularly if I want to view the class schedule of other locations. Again, if I didn’t have to have the app for my membership I absolutely would not. Fix it Vasa. Do better.

Never coming to this place again
Vasa is just one big scam I only went for one day for two months and they ended up making my account negative 100 not once but twice and they proceeded to tell me it’s a easy process to get out on the vasa app, then come to find out I have to pay other 100 so I told for only one day ever going there I payed 300 dollars yea never again worst workout place and very bad experience with this company I’ll make sure to tell everyone not to come to vasa really bad establishment, I wish there was a zero star rating because I would definitely put that for this company.

Needs Work
This app is great for checking in BUT it’s a hassle to set up in the beginning. Also, REALLY needs to allow members to delete old payment methods. I updated my payment method but couldn’t remove the old one and have now received a late fee because they attempted to use the old payment method instead of the new. I’ll be extremely frustrated if that fee isn’t removed because I don’t feel as though it’s my fault that they tried to bill my old account. I’d gladly rate this app better if it allowed us to do things we should have access to do (IE: remove old billing accounts).

Needs Apple Watch and more
The app has a lot of problems at best, first off the #1 reason I use the app is to check in. That should be the first thing I see when I open the app, the barcode. If not, I should at least be able to long press on the app icon to open directly to the barcode. Lastly, I should not have to have my iPhone at all and should be able to check in with my Apple Watch. This app was not built with the user experience in mind.

Doesn’t record all visits
I have been to Vasa the last 4 days. I would have earned a badge this month for going 16 times and I didn’t because the app isn’t keeping track of all the days I have checked in. It is very frustrating going for badges and trying to hit weekly goals when the app is supposed to keep track of how many times you’ve gone, and it doesn’t. Employees just say, try deleting the app and downloading it again.

Great start
I am a fan of the prior app, only because it mirrored my iphone (multiple icons on home page). Look forward to seeing future iterations of this app. Thus far, it worked well to place a “support ticket” and the mobile app team was quite helpful. I will miss the ability to record our exercises. Hope that comes back! Otherwise, the app itself has a clean look and feel.

It’s Useful, but Needs Improvement
This app often has issues. Call them freezing, login, etc. issues. It would be great too if it could extend to the Apple wallet and Apple Watch for checking in. VASA no longer gives tags with barcodes, and I no longer carry my phone into the gym so having an alternative as using the Apple Watch to check on would be a nice improvement.

New vasa member!
When I first got the app I was registered as a guest for some reason even tho I just got a membership. I reached out to get help but the first time didn’t work so I reached out again and I heard back within a few hours. The person who helped me through the text number for the app help was helpful and now it says I’m a member and which membership I have. The customer service is really good!

Love the Support Team
I downloaded this newer version of the app because the previous one goes offline at the end of the month. I had major difficulties getting it to work with my account. I was put in touch with the Development Team and they were amazing. They replied quickly and worked with me to get my issue resolved. I have never seen such a dedicated support team!

New App working
When I first tried to restart my Vasa app it could not find my email or my account. I contacted the app support team and after some texts back and forth we were able to get it up and running and I was signed in again. They responded quickly to get the problem solved, even though the issues were tough. Pleased with the great support!

New home page update
I have been with Vasa for around a month now and I saw the before and after of the newest update to the homepage. I preferred the first of one, primarily because it showed my progress, classes and badges as the first thing I saw once I opened the app. Now the first thing I see is an ad encouraging me to upgrade my membership and an affiliate link for their multi level marketing scheme. I’m on the app to track my progress and scan my barcode to workout. Not to be a Guinea Pig for your new ad campaign.

Knock it off
Okay, I can accept using the app for check-in. I can accept that I have to click a button for the check-in barcode, versus the user-friendly default of the barcode being available immediately. But now? Now I have to clear "Trainanza" solicitations whenever I check in? There's a line that forms as people try to clear the garbage from the screen so they can manually bring up the barcode so they can check-in. Give us a break already. We just want to work out.

Please stop showing ads on the card menu. Every time I go to check in, a ad pops up and blocks the barcode, so it doesn’t scan. And I have to close the ad. Also as im trying to check in, im not going to spend time looking at the ad anyways, because i need the barcode to check in. So having it show on the card menu is pointless in my view. Plus why even show ads/promotions give us a option to say don’t show promotions, we are already paying a membership fee, why should we have to see ads when using the app.

Difficult to compare to the company’s last app. It’s an ok app that is geared more towards upgrading membership, payments or child care instead of encouraging working out. My husbands app logs him out constantly. I haven’t had that issue luckily. Apple vs Droid I guess. The “home screen” is to schedule appointments which don’t exist as an option and honestly should be updated to just being your barcode instead for easy check in. Last app for classes was easy navigating in comparison. MyZone would be a great addition along with a Rewards program again!

Too many bugs, not enough tech support
The app logs me out on a frequent basis. I use the exact same credentials to log in each time and the app is now telling me there is no account associated with my credentials even though I still pay for a membership and have my fee locked in. Their support line can’t take calls, it only takes texts. You have to wait several minutes before getting a reply. I’ve started to just have team members look me up at the front desk each time I go to the gym because the app is too much hassle. Not sure why they switched from the old one.

Crappy app with little to offer
I wish it would show on the calendar itself what days I checked in. I used to go to 24 Hour Fitness and their app would show on the calendar which days I checked in. Also, it’s not even accurate. Today I checked into the centennial location and it says I checked in two days ago. It’s also isn’t showing my check in for yesterday. This app is very bad and needs some work. Please work on this now. I will absolutely switch gyms.

App won’t show me other gyms
VASA has terrible customer service to begin with. They let me cancel my membership, but then started it up again 6months later with out me ever confirming to start a new membership with them. Now that I’m forced to use their gym, I’ve been trying to look at a gym closer to my new place, but the app won’t update for me to change my gym to look at the class schedules. I have to just Google the gym near me and their schedule every single time I want to go to a class. Horrible experience with VASA, their customer service, and their app.

Location Stupid
The app does not let you look at the classes at all of the locations. When location services are on it will only show you your home gym and one alternate gym. The other gyms section want to have every gym close by so that you can look at their group schedules. The app is trying to be smart by using location services, but it does a poor job. The website also does not list every gym. I want to see the different classes at each location.

App will not load after updating
I enjoy this application, makes going to the gym simple and convenient. However, since my last update I am not able to use the app. It is stuck on the splash screen. I tried reinstalling the app and restarting my phone, also tried using multiple network connections but the app just hangs.

Customer service
Great and fast customer service! Had a hard time registering my account on the app. Kept saying my info wasn’t in their system though I know I have and pay for an account with them each month. I contacted their support team. They were helpful and quick to respond. They got me registered and back in the app ASAP.

Not Fond of the Major Overhaul
Just downloaded the new app. Taking a few minutes to familiarize myself with it, I have to say that the previous version was better. Buttons were clear and easier to navigate. The overall look of the previous version was better, too. I’m not sure why it was decided to add tons of verbiage to the new app? Now, it looks and operates more like a website. And, what is the purpose of “My Calendar”, if I can’t add anything to it? Things I will miss: -Overall ease of use. -Ability to record workouts without having to use another app. -Goal Center notifications. -Comprehensive view of weekly calendars. -Ability to change my profile pic. (Not a huge deal, but it was a nice perk.) Things I like about it: -“My Account” now includes detailed info on “Plans” and “Billing”. -Operating hours have been added.

Almost Love It...
I love the look and feel of the new Vasa app. My only two complaints would be is I liked being able to see the “history” of when I checked into the gym. I don’t see that as an option on this app like it is on their old app. The other is when looking at the classes, I’d like to be able to click on it to see the details of the class and the location.

Great Customer Service
My app wouldn’t pull any information and I couldn’t figure out why, which was beyond annoying because I couldn’t even scan into the gym. I reached out to the help desk to see if they could fix this problem and wow! They were so quick and nice! They had me set up and working properly in a matter of minutes.

Terms and Agreements + Transaction
When signing up for Vasa fitness the employees would skip over the terms of agreement without allowing you the option of going through the importance of reading it first. Transactions penalties for cancellation would cost a good dollar or two I believe it’s $45? This isn’t a reasonable cost since you the applicant were the one who payed the hefty amount to just sign up and simply cannot attend at Vasa fitness for work or other importances. If you enjoy the place keep it going but wouldn’t recommend for new comers

I was not able to log into my account, unaware that the app had changed or was changing and I needed to have a new account activated. texted the support team and they replied very quickly and had my account activated within minutes. Made my morning so much better with that finally resolved! Thanks again!

Vasa Thief’s
I’ve had the app for a long time, getting charged the same thing every month through autopay for a little over a year now, until they charged me $50 a week before my monthly payment… I feel robbed & even worse not being told why that was taken, no email, no app notifications, does not show in app that I was ever charged the $50 or anything related. Be careful signing up for apps/gyms like these because after you do they will take whatever they please from your accounts(s).

Staying logged in and keeping info
The app is great but for some reason whenever I log in it won’t keep my information like the schedule for my gym I have to always go into filters and change it to the the gym in my area and then whenever I close the app and open it back up I have to constantly retype my email and password to log in and it’s very frustrating so if there is an update that can fix it that would be great!

Would like widget for barcode at the ready
Pretty much it nothing wrong with the app would like a widget option so I can always have my barcode ready even at lock screen when I swipe over instead of unlocking phone then opening the app

App Will not Load
Since the update the app will not open. Will not even allow me to login. Activate my account on the app etc. I have talked to the employees at the gym and they are at a loss at what to do. I have deleted and re downloaded the app several times. I have shut down and restarted my phone several times. No matter what I do the app remains on the opening screen and never progresses. Very disappointing after trying to give vasa another chance after leaving two years ago.

Does not work
I joined VASA in my town at the beginning of 2022 and downloaded the app and have yet to be able to use it. I opened it and it just sits on the VASA logo and doesn’t ever finish booting up and loading so I can check in. I’ve restarted my phone, deleted the app and reinstalled it, and I’ve backed up my phone to wipe it clean and reinstall the app and it still does not work. There isn’t a help page online I could find to report an issue so I hope someone sees this and can fix the issue. I have an iPhone 11
