I’ve been consistently using Veri for a few months now and have made some significant changes to my diet and lifestyle now that I am equipped with data about how my body responds. There are a couple of little things that are keeping me from making this a five star review- namely the integration with Oura pulls over my “time in bed” vs my actual sleep. I struggle with insomnia so I’m often in bed for enough hours but not actually asleep. The snap shot in veri isn’t an accurate representation of my actual sleep. Like others have mentioned, i wish you didn’t have to write text with every scan. Sometimes I’m on the go and don’t want to have a gap (like at work, or on a road trip) but am not in a position to type anything out. The support team is INCREDIBLE, and all these little issues aside, their willingness to help solve my issues in a speedy way is why I keep using the app after all these months. Additionally, their speed to market on features enhancements and bug fixes is impressive. Overall, I love Veri. I wish the cost could come down a bit, but until the healthcare world recognizes that CGM technology should be affordable and covered for the people trying to prevent disease (vs those already sick with diabetes and managing disease), I don’t see this happening. If you’re curious about how your body responds to the foods you eat and the lifestyle you live, I strongly suggest you give veri a try!
Because this app focuses so myopically on JUST glucose responses - it can offer positive reinforcement for the wrong things when trying to consider a healthy, sustainable diet. The app happily gave me my best scores on days where I forgot to eat; even if I was hungry and had a terrible headache by the end of the day, and my body felt like trash, the app cheerfully offered me a 95 daily heath score! The meal scoring also offered very low scores for foods like fresh fruits that (while they might cause a totally normal, more “spiked” blood glucose response than other foods, are still inarguably healthy foods that should be a part of any well balanced diet!). Because the food journal doesn’t include consideration for ANY nutrients, doesn’t offer the ability to track nutritional composition of foods, and the app doesn’t consider any biomarker other than blood sugar, it is not what I would consider a complete or helpful way to evaluate or change your lifestyle or optimize your metabolic health… there is so much more to metabolism than blood sugar!!! If you do use the app, don’t put too much stock into the daily food scores - too many “high” scores for foods and activities I know aren’t healthy or sustainable, and “low” scores for things I logically know are healthy and reasonable!
I’ve been using Veri for a few months now, and have learned so much about what affects my glucose. It also helps keep me honest in making more healthy choices. The customer support is also great, very responsive. The app is quite sleek, simple, and easy to use. I do appreciate being able to compare my numbers with the the Veri community at large. A few things that made me knock off one star: no dark mode; I don’t like being required to write a comment for each time I scan my sensor; and I wish I was able to add comments without scanning. For example, the sensor reacts with a false glucose spike when I shower - I’d like to note it. Or rather, I’d prefer Veri to not take these spikes into consideration when calculating the Flow number. I also don’t know how that Flow number weights spikes from food versus exercise - I suspect it doesn’t differentiate, but it’d be nice to have an intense workout not drag the Flow score too low. Overall, I’m looking forward to how this app grows!
I have been using Veri for about 3 weeks and really like it. First of all, customer support is amazing. I had an issue with my first CGM, and they responded quickly to help me figure out how to get it solved. They are very responsive, friendly and helpful. Second, I love having this data, because I have learned several things about what affects my blood sugar that was counterintuitive. For example, my blood sugar gets higher in the morning with the same meal than it does, in the evening, which is opposite of what I expected. Also, I’ve learned how exercise impacts my blood sugar, including learning that I should take a walk after every meal to lower the blood sugar sugar impact. I am very healthy, but have a lot of family issues with diabetes, so having this information helps me feel like I have more control over my health and making sure I don’t get diabetes in the future.
This is a nice easy to understand app that provides great insights into your health. I have two complaints though. First is missing data. I see the data in Freestyle Libre but Veri will show a 6 hour gap with no data. Eventually Veri will catch up but it’s frustrating. This doesn’t happen frequently but it happens enough to be annoying. I’ve seen it occur about 6 times in the last 2 weeks. I’ve already reached out to Tech Support. Second is the pricing. Remember you’re only getting 2 sensors for the 3 month subscription. So that’s a total of 1 month of sensors as each one lasts 2 weeks. That means you’ll have 2 months of your subscription where you’ll have no sensors which makes the app pretty useless. You can buy more sensors but that adds to the cost. So at face value Veri looks cheap compared to Levels or Nutrisense but once you factor in buying additional sensors the cost savings is wiped out.
I was really excited about getting a couple of sensors and trying this product out. They are rather expensive at $150 for 2 sensors which they advertise a sensor is good for 14 days. Well, not really. Placement was easy & painless, but each sensor only came with 1 patch/cover to protect it from water. After about 4 days I could see the patch/cover was getting worn & was not going to make it to the end of 14 days. I showered every other day and did not go swimming or expose the patch to water for an extended period of time, but it still came off about 10 days in. Being that these are expensive & insurance doesn’t cover them at all, I would expect them to last 14 days or come with more than 1 patch each at the minimum. So, I lost almost 1/3 of its usage. That really shouldn’t be the case, especially since they say it lasts longer than that. I don’t think I’ll continue with this patch. I’ll have to research other compatible options.
The Veri program was instrumental in helping me to understand how various foods and activity affect my health and sugar levels. I was suprised at how foods I though would be unhealthy were actually ok in moderation and when paired with let’s say protein or exercise they were fine to eat. I have lost 10 pounds in 6 weeks by watching what I eat and how it affects my own body via the app. I am not on a diet per se I am on a program to eat and do the right things for my own personal bodies reactions that are monitored and measured real time by Veri. It is eye opening to see in real time and to track the history over time which enables me to make the proper decisions for my own personal situation. Extremely happy with Veri and the results it has provide for me
I went into this very curious and expecting to find it interesting to see how diet and lifestyle impacted on my blood glucose. It really has been interesting and I’d give the Freestyle Libre sensor 5 stars - it’s easy to use, doesn’t hurt and stays on. The Veri app on the other hand is glitchy and support for all intents and purposes highly lacking. When everything is working the Veri app is alright not the best user experience but OK. When it doesn’t work don’t expect any support. The app stopped recording my data and I got told to use the Freestyle Libre app instead. I was told it stopped reading my data because my reading was too low, but also that the low reading was perfectly normal. If it’s perfectly normal shouldn’t the app work with it? Apparently not. So I paid a lot of money ($169 a month) for a sensor and an app that might work sometimes. And sm using the Freestyle Libre free app instead. Really frustrating. It feels like the Veri app is in beta testing.
Product fell off once and broke once - horrible customer support
I got 2 sensors. My first fell off with a few days to go, so they sent me another, which I really appreciated. The replacement had a problem with the applicator so it never stuck in my arm. It was frustrating to have to deal with customer support again, but I did appreciate that they sent me another. But I asked them to extend my app usage because of these problems. They agreed to, didn’t, and then charged me for another subscription. I reached out asking for them to cancel/refund within a few hours of seeing the charge and was told they would not refund me. So no matter what happens- this company will not refund you which seems like a scam. Also, the sensor is through LibreLink which has wonderful customer support. So avoid Veri and use a different app that has a better customer support team.
As of right now, I’ve been using Veri for three days. So far, I’d rate the Libre a 5/5. However, if we’re taking about the app, right now I’d rate it at a two and a half or three. There’s so much more that could be done! The simplest being better integration with Apple health. Apple Health has blood glucose monitoring but the app doesn’t talk to Apple Health. The biggest thing that needs improvement is the logging screen. It shouldn’t take me four-plus taps to log something other than what the “default” is for that time. It would also make sense to allow people to duplicate entries (and maybe use previous data to create a more accurate “score”.) I subscribed to two sensors a month - so I’ll have plenty of time to update. I’d really love to see what else could come of this app.
Poor company and customer service that don’t care about their customer at all. All other review saying that they send sensor late is true. They charge my credit card two or three days ago and they don’t send an email at least to said nothing about shipped sensor not tracking information. My sensor expired and theo not even shipped other sensor yet. Look like they don’t know the two sensor have a life of 28 days . This app only does is mimic the real freestyle app. This app don’t give any value information that you can not find in the app from the sensor. I don’t recommend this app or this company to anyone . They are very o responsable company to the least . When I finish my 3 month contract or wherever I will never again look at them. You can go to your local pharmacy and get better deals .
I wanted to like Veri’s app so much. Let me first say that my experiences with their customer support has been just great. Very courteous, supportive, and prompt! Unfortunately, the app itself has some functional shortcomings that are driving me towards a competitor, the most significant of which is that the glucose readings the app collects are NOT written to HealthKit (though the app does ask for permission to read various HealthKit data points, including sleep and exercise data). For me, if the glucose measurements aren’t written to HealthKit, they are just trapped in the app, and effectively become “dead” to me. Additionally, the meal logging is very limited — if you’re not eating something that’s an exact match for a collection of terms built into the app, you can’t log it. Keto versions of foods like tortillas, breads, ice cream and more are impossible to distinguish from the regular variety. In any case, if you don’t care about storing your readings in HealthKit or about accurately tracking your meals and snacks, the app itself is pleasantly designed and usable enough.
I have really enjoyed using this app. It has helped me be really mindful of what I put in my body and how keeping active + a good night's sleep really impacts my body. Customer service is the reason why I am posting this review because they have provided swift responses and have helped me out with a CGM replacement when I needed one. I was worried until I heard back from them! Overall the app has been wonderful. Only issue i've been having is that it doesn't recognize the "trend" of me wearing my CGM and therefore doesn't give me a habit score for my metabolic health.
I have been wanting to try CGM in a while. I had no idea that certain food that I enjoyed many years is affecting my blood sugar. I hope this app has more information on the diet side. Like having a countdown how much carbs I have left for the day. I constantly go to another app on the food intake. I do like the simple feature but wish it has more information on the diet part.
This app is great for anyone wanting to track their metabolic health. I’ve been using it for two weeks and I’ve learned so much new information about my body’s response to diet changes. The app also has tools for tracking changes over time and ways to connect meals to metabolic response. The social aspect of the app is also terrific. The Veri community seems very responsive and supportive of all the users as well as the users supporting each other in the common goal of improving our health. I highly recommend it.
I’m now on my 4th sensor and have learned so much about my metabolic health using the Veri App. The changes I’ve made using the data have helped me to not only feel better, but to start losing weight as well! I’ve had several issues with the app during my time using, but these were all easily resolved by contacting support through the app. The support feature is easy to use. My issues all required a person to get involved - I was contacted quickly and my issue resolved quickly.
This is not a cheap program. I applied the first sensor with no problems, and I enjoyed having the info available to make good choices based on my body’s response. The second sensor I applied in the same manner but for some reason it was hurting and jutting out at an odd angle. It eventually pushed its way almost entirely out so I removed it, disposed of it and contacted customer service. They asked a slew of questions and asked for pictures including pictures of the device in my arm, which I had not taken—for safety I had immediately disposed of it in a sharps container. Because I could not provide them with information other than my detailed account they would not send a replacement sensor. Buyer beware, their customer service does not care.
I’ve been using the app for a week. A few things that make the app confusing is that they have two numbers a glucose variability and oscillation. They both sound the same and the descriptions of each confuses rather than clarifies. Also the meal scoring is subpar. Let’s say I ate something poor and my body is getting rid of the excess glucose but then I eat something good (soon after the first meal) and my glucose is still going down from the first meal, my second meal scores poorly because there was no “stable” glucose response. But the second meal did not cause a spike in my glucose, so in fact it should receive a good meal scoring. I certainly won’t use this app again.
This isn’t live data. You have to scan the sensor. Getting a hold of anyone in customer service is nearly impossible. I had a sensor that kept giving me urgent lows that didn’t come anywhere near my BG values. I took off the sensor. Then I contacted customer service, but no response. Also found out that the plan that I’m on is for 2 sensors on a payment plan of 3 months… so I’m paying 300 for 2 sensors which I used for a total of 7 days. That plan isn’t even an option when I check their site. I requested a refund. I don’t they’ll issue one, but they should because this is the worst product experience I have ever encountered. Ridiculous.
We are all unique to some degree in regards to what makes our blood sugar spike. The Veri app takes the data from Libre3 and presents it beautifully with real information about what is going on. You do have to track your food manually but it then gives you data that you can understand and act on. Their lessons are also helpful for learning about metabolic health.
The app did not provide added value to my health goals. I wrote to Veri asking for consideration to cancel my contract after using the app for only 5 days. My contract was $25 a month. The customer service person parroted the contract terms like I was trying to get out of an apt lease and said they would release me from the contract for a charge of $20. Have never had this type of experience with an app. Much less one that adds so little value to one’s health journey. Update: the company reached out and waived the cancellation fee.
Was very disappointed with this app. It uses the Freestyle Libre 3 cgm monitor and you have to use that devices app continuously, Veri the imports from that app. Veri does little more that Fresstyle Libre’s app already does. Yes, it gives you a score for each meal you input but i never got below an 8 out of 10, which I find very hard to believe consider times when I ate sugary or starchy foods. Save your money and just find a source to buy the cgm from. If you tell your doctor you are wanting to do research on your blood sugar, they can often help you order one at cost or through your insurance.
The program worked pretty well for the first 9 days. Then my readings were dramatically off. For example, I’d take a reading when there was no food intake and it would show a dramatic spike in glucose. Then 15 minutes later on my “timeline” it would correct to baseline. However, that is a problem. When I reported it to customer service they actually said that my readings look “ordinary.” At that point, I lost trust in them and took the monitor off. Could be a really informative app if they work out the kinks.
As prediabetic insulin resistant, I have been trying to get control of my blood sugar levels for years. I did a lot of finger pricking. But cgm and Veri have been eye opening so far. I’m just starting Stage 2 and I’m excited to keep learning about my individual response to foods sleep and activities and finally start making positive changes.
I loved this app for nearly three months. I like that the logging of meals is ingredient focused and not about calories or micros/macros or anything that could trigger an eating disorder. Today I find that there is a new addition to monitoring health and that is BMI rating. Not only is this unnecessary to the app and system, it is UNHELPFUL for those trying to make actual sustainable changes for their health. The BMI is trash. Get educated on the origins of this outdated system and please remove it from your metrics.
My only wish is for the ability to scan foods into the meals. Other than that this is one of the most insightful tools for my health I’ve found to date!
I’ve used Veri service for about a week and learned a ton about my body and metabolism. I’m healthy, thankfully, so got this to learn how to stay that way. Some of my food assumptions were wrong. Everyone will benefit from this personalized knowledge. With diabetes on the rise I can’t believe these CGMs are not given for free to everyone
I love Veri for its intuitive app and great staff! The app is user friendly especially for people like me who’s never used such an app before. I quickly learned how to use and optimize it. Also, people like Emily have been highly informative. She looked at my results and gave me some tips! I highly recommend Veri!
Had some trouble with my first sensor & customer service got back to me quickly with great information & a replacement sensor. Now everything is going smoothly and I’m enjoying seeing the control that I have on my health and well being! Thank you Veri
The app is nonresponsive. Meaning - I can’t scroll to select event times or enter meals. It’s impossible to deal with. I quit the app and it may work if lucky but mostly it doesn’t. I’m on iPhone 12 Pro with newest OS. This is the only app behaving this way. Right now, when I try to add a meal the app does not record the meal and forgets the photograph I uploaded. It feels like it’s an alpha. Pretty unusable for me personally. Also: it doesn’t send glucose to apple health so it’s a data grabber but not data sharer and that makes me feel skeptical of the company.
After using this app for about a week, I have to say I am pretty underwhelmed with it. I wish it had a way to track nutrition information (giving more insight into what specific foods spike your blood sugar.) Also as others mentioned, I wish it was better integrated with Apple health, right now it can read you workouts…. But it doesn’t write any data.
Not impressed. The app largely relies on tags (which is fine) but you can't add your own, what's available is VERY limited, and the search functionality isn't great. Canceled because it just wasn't useful enough for the price (data export is one good feature since the provided stats aren't helpful). In-app cancelation didn't work and was charged for another month. Customer service said I should have known to cancel through them and not the app 🤷♂️. Don't recommend.
Honestly, I already know what spikes my blood sugar however this tool keeps me accountable and really helps me stay on track with healthy eating, exercise and sleep. Lots of quick easy reads along the way to keep you inspired to stay on track!
I only had 2 sensors and after months stop using and deleted Veri. But their subscription was keep going and emails went to spam. After few month I reacted to notification about charge and went to cancel subscription (it was hidden well). I asked Veri help to refund at least last month (I canceled same day) but they were pretty much “nope, we have your money”. I created dispute with credit card provider (apple) and got money back.
I have had such a frustrating run with Veri. Their plans are illogical (2 months of sensor and 4 months of app access makes little sense to me) and they recently sent an order that is now lost and they are lackadaisical about it and not hunting the package down: I have to say I’m disappointed given the high cost. I’d encourage others to look elsewhere as I will do once and if I ever get my final order
I used the 3 months subscription and mostly all the monitors they sent me didn’t work. I was getting crema I number like 40,50 when I just had a meal and the finger monitor was marking 120. Totally a waste of money! I reported snd got a new one but 1 of 2 monitors were with error and was very disappointing been paying for something that does ent work. Maybe try I’ll try another one, but this Veri is the worst …
Incredibly insightful program when used with the continuous glucose monitor. I was able to make meaningful changes to my diet and stabilize my glucose levels. I highly recommend Veri!
The service provides useful info to help understand the impact of food and exercise on blood glucose, possibly helpful for weight loss or training. Cheaper than some competitors, about $800/yr above the cost of sensors if you purchase directly in pharmacy…freestyle libre app is free but has less/ no capability to analyze and compare meals.
A missing piece in my fitness journey. There are things happening that you can’t always see until you test and experiment. What foods spike my glucose and how exercise affects my glucose is now available to me!
I requested to cancel my order with this company within 24 hours of purchasing after speaking with my doctor about my specific needs. They refuse to refund and then lied about shipping out the product. (Shipping labels created on a Sunday via USPS and they claim it shipped, but it has not.) Poor customer service and their policies are hidden. Avoid at all cost.
App is missing the ability to actually put real food and dishes (not just signal items) and quantities, so no analysis of macros, nutrients, quantities Vs blood glucose. Basically after couple of weeks you’ll understand that food makes your glucose go up, than down and than what?
Veri’s support team is top-notch! They are very responsive, courteous, and professional. They could put on a Master Class for the world’s service industries to follow. I am very impressed! They are Extraordinary!
App is super clunky and buggy. Doesn’t sync very very well with Libre. You have to SCAN in libre and the import to Veri. Totally useless. Just use Libre for free. Customer service is whack. Had a broken sensor and they refused to help fix the situation. If you have ANY issue be prepared for them to not help and continue to charge you.
The 3-month app subscription for blood-glucose monitoring only includes 2 sensors which last 2 weeks each. That’s one month of value and then the rest of the time is a huge waste because this app provides no more value than a few webmd articles and a notepad to log your meals. Huge scam.
The app tracks the blood sugar fine, but if they don’t provide anyone to interpret the data, the numbers are useless. I should have done my research better. I should have paid more money and used a different company, one that provides a dietician to help understand.
This is a sleazy company. I wanted to try it for one month and see if I got anything out of it. I wasn’t a fan but when I tried to cancel they told me I had to pay for 3 more months. I was under a contract. Now I have a not great app that I have to pay $360 for. What a rip off. Just don’t do it. It’s not worth it.
The app has a bunch of functions but design is extremely annoying to use. It’s pretty, but it takes sooo many taps, swipes etc to do anything. Also BEWARE the glucose monitors are the cheap rubbish ones you have to manually scan. Overall not a good experience
