the other reviews speak for themselves on quality of this crapware. Let me add my own experience: - Apple is famous for offering particular attention to people with vision challenges, this app uses ZERO of such platform support - you can’t zoom (the irony) - if you tap the hamburger menu and then anything outside of that menu you get stack in a clustduck of UI paradox - the benefits history tells you two piece of information that are: “you used multiple services” or empty fields - essentially there is no history those are the top items because it is not possible to beyond without aggravation this app feels to be either developed by incompetent and non user of this type of service or by some kind of outsourced shop where the objective is to put some services of an existing web site inside a native app. Unfortunately Apple doesn’t allow to give negative stars otherwise this would be my first time doing so. what would have been better: - an accessible design given the only expectable audience - history so that you know what glasses you have purchased using their insurance - way less bugs (the login is beyond finicky and there is no progress indicator so you cause callbacks to the server when in reality is caching) and let’s call it for now - they are not going to do any given their real customers are the companies that provide the benefit and not the actual consumers…
Everyone is right - this app is horrible. As of today’s date version 2.3 was updated a year ago. Apparently nobody is monitoring this to see what is wrong with this app. I’ve been using it for a short while and I did notice that when I tried to look at my membership card, the app failed and went back to my homepage. When I tried to email it to myself the app showed that ever frustrating “death circle.” When you try to get in touch with app support there is no one to contact. I’m using an iPhone and for some reason it won’t save my password, so I have to put it in manually every single time. As I said, I’ve only been using this app for a short time, and these are just a few of the problems I found, and for some reason I think I’m going to find many more problems. Obviously VSP doesn’t care about this app at all or they would do something about it.
The navigation is horrible! If I click on a doctor to read more about them I have no way of returning to the previous page, I have to close out the app and sign in and do the search all over again. It’s always lagging and giving error message when trying to find a doctor! And the cookie message keeps popping even though I picked my preference! Not to mention I a pop up to schedule with an office I had no interest in would not click off when I pressed the X a bunch of times! Literally had to close out the app and log back in. Please update the app it is NOT USER FRIENDLY!
this is not an app. this “app” just uses the guts of Safari (sloppily) to open the VSP site. this means that: - it will never remember your password - it will never allow for FaceID - VSP doesn’t have any ID cards, but even if they did, Wallet functionality wouldn’t be possible - password managers won’t work, so get ready to copy and paste your password from those if you use them - the pages will load like a browser, but there are no browser functions. the worst of both worlds! - you get to experience the slightly less bad but still not great VSP site I’m positive they only made this because the companies they contract their plans out to required them to have an app at some point. This is an app in name only, but enough of an “app” for someone who doesn’t care to check a box off if they’re comparing VSP vs. EyeMed and other companies. But at least the other companies actually hired developers.
App is useless, have to login each time. No Face ID
This app is basically useless, first of all VSP ID card is basically your social. I downloaded app thinking it’ll let me add card to my apple wallet like the rest of my cards. This app is so old fashioned it’s ridiculous. You constantly have to enter your info to log in, the point of an app is to utilize Face ID, if I constantly want to enter my info I’ll use the basic website since my password is automatically logged in. I log in on app with no problems, I just hate having to keep retyping my login info, so for that reason, I’ll be deleting this useless application!
This “app” appears to be 90% just the VSP website. As a rep there is a lot of functionality that would be expected from a real app that just isn’t there, like the ability to save a password or use biometrics like face or Touch ID. And forgot about being able to load a VSP membership card into apple wallet. I’m surprised how far behind VSP is, this approach of taking the app and pointing it to the website is something my primary health network was doing back in 2012. But I guess what do I expect from a company that is still using social security number and birthday to identify patients.
What kind of app is this for a rebound Vision Ins Co?!
I have never worked with an app, so unreliable, so confusing, and never able to sign on without having to change my password every single time. When I asked renew a password, I never received an email. What kind of vision insurance company has this inept unprofessional type of app, I’m ready to call them and say I do not want to do business with them because I feel that they are a sketchy company because they cannot have a decent app.
The gap between VSP’s app and other insurance apps is striking
Such limited functionality on this app, and it can’t be due to HIPAA either since all of the missing functionality is present on my Aetna app, which deals with even more sensitive HIPAA issues. You can’t look at your statements through the app. You can’t log in via faceid. If you switch apps while logging in and come back to it, the login screen times out. The UI is a mess.
This app works just fine. It appears to be a Web App with the same functionality as the VSP website. Convenient for finding doctors and retrieving coupons.
Not useful. Logged in to see my benefit claim history and says to use a browser
I got an email from VSP saying my benefit statement was ready and to visit the link. Below that it says download the app to check benefits. I figured statements would be in the app like other apps I use. The statements were listed in the app but suggests I go use a browser. What’s the point of the app then? Waste of time.
The app is just a wrapper around the mobile web page, but does not handle login session correctly or links. It should just expose a safari view in the app and handle login session (both pretty easy to do) or the experience is literally worse than the mobile website. Which means users are better off if this doesn’t exist at all.
I was using the app, and then a banner appeared, and I couldn’t close it down. The close button (x) didn’t work, nor did clicking on other parts of the banner. I had to restart the app and do my search all over again
It lets you in when you figure it out. it took me a few minutes to realize that the app automatically capitalizes the first character of your password when you start typing. I think that might be messing people up. Just a bad design
Not many apps written by a three year old but THIS ONE IS
Let’s make them all login every time they open the app. Then when they get in we won’t let them make an appointment or give them an actual card to save in the wallet. If we did this right they might come to the store! I refuse to e ‘em go to a store the uses this app. Complete waste of time and effort for the customer.
The app is fine. For everyone having problems with your password, it capitalizes the first letter so just hit the arrow key on the bottom left. Logged in the first time with no problems.
Despite multiple pw changes, I still cannot get into app to see providers in my area. I’d say this is user error however I see multiple folks have the same issue. I wonder when vsp will fix or are they comfortable just getting paid for services and then not care about the businesses with whom they partner.
I have been trying to find versus book an appointment or any kind of appointment service on the app. I cannot find any location and everything else respectful process book club appointment. This is not even an app cover, and a website page so they took the website and disguise it as an app an app that got five update in nine years🙃🙃🙃🙃
I really only use it to see my member card but it is constantly signing me out then not letting me log back in even though the login is correct. Its annoying to use and doesn't offer anything special. It’s easier to just go to the website and login each time than deal with the app.
They just use their app and website to install cookies on your browser. Other than that the app does nothing. No proper UI navigations and the app just gets stuck at some pages when viewing more info. I’ve no idea how’s this app still in the App Store. Ah, maybe Apple uses the same insurance for Vision Pro then we are doomed 🤣
Every time I try to sign in, I enter my login info (which I know is correct because I just created the account), it says “the page you are attempting to load is no longer available”, then boots me back to the login page. This app is literally useless since you cant even get into it.
Would give zero stars if I could. It takes me directly to the login page and won’t even let me log in! I just reset my password (which was also a terrible experience) so I know it’s correct and it just keeps sending me in a loop to the login page over and over and over again. Really terrible.
The app is hard to long into, forces you to log in each time you open the app. UserID and Password fields don’t get recognized by the IPhone as fields where it can auto fill saved credentials. Use the website in a laptop. It’s slightly less of a hassle.
I thought it would be great to be able to load my member card into my apple wallet for the receptionist when I have an appointment, but I can’t even get access to my member card via the app as it keeps coming up with an error message after I’m fully logged in or it freezes or it logs me out. Please fix!!!
Repeatedly goes into a loop asking for extra verification by sending an email, but competing the email process does nothing and the app starts the verification process all over from the beginning. I am letting my VSP account lapse the next open enrollment. VSP is more trouble to try to deal with them than any value they provide.
I usually don't leave reviews about apps, but this app is the worst I've ever used. I can't imagine how little regard there is for the user to make them enter their password every single time without the option to use Face ID. I'm giving this app a one-star rating, although if I could, I would rate it even lower.
After installation, this crapware walks you through creating an account. Nothing off the wall, just the last 4 of your social, name, email address and date of birth. Then it informs me that what I entered does not match their records. I’m going to talk to my HR department tomorrow and see about canceling this vision “coverage” that is not usable. The word Fraud comes to mind.
Unfortunately this is my vision insurance through my provider every time I try to login it asked me to verify and re-authorize, which never works and I’m perpetually locked out unless I call and they reset the password for me. Don’t even bother downloading this app, and if you’re considering signing up for this insurance, don’t.
This app is worse than your browser since it won’t let you auto fill your password and you have to log in manually every time you close the web app, terrible, terrible web app! VSP do something about it for your customers at the least.
This app makes me wish my current company’s vision insurance was set up with EyeMed or another provider. I cannot believe a company would provide their customers with such a poor mobile experience when an app is crucial for today’s use cases. VSP needs to hire some good developers to fix this, immediately.
I’m able to log in fine to their website but the app keeps reloading the login screen whenever I try to use it. Kind of hard to use an app when you can’t get past the sign in screen. Would not recommend under any circumstances
No longer allows me to log in same as other reviews as far back as at least Jan 2022 so this has been ongoing for almost 10mos. Logging in works on a computer but not the app. Keeps sending me back saying this page is no longer available.
This app was developed for the “lulz”. Had the same error others reported various months ago: I log in and see the message “the page no longer available” or something like that. Then I’m booted off back to login. I tried three times. Then, removed the app from phone. App deserves ZERO stars.
This app is almost entirely unusable. It constantly crashes, pages are extremely slow to load, and every time I attempt to use it I’m forced to login. This app needs some serious work. I have to use the VSP website directly from my browser instead. Absolute garbage.
Every time you want to login—you have to re-enter your account name and password (which is unlike EVERY other app that I use). The rest of the app seems to work ok. It feels like one of the VP’s had a second cousin who wanted to be an app developer!
Do not offer an app if you can neither offer some baseline functionality nor maintain the app. Why would there be an app with a section for benefits history where one cannot view…benefits history? Oh, it lets you try to do so. It doesn’t work. In tiny print above where it appears one SHOULD be able to view statements: use a web browser to view. ……..? I’m sure the executive VP of digital or whatever got to put in a deck that they shipped this app to collect his or her 6 figure bonus. Unanimous 1 star reviews speak for themselves. Useless.
The app lets you try to log in once and if you try again you’ll run into caching issues and an extremely unhelpful error message stating “The page has expired”. No option for biometric login either so good luck to any poor soul who tries to use this software.
Zero stars, not able to use password keeper, you can see the rebate form click on download mail in rebate but you can't print or save, feature to see what you would look like in glasses... App spins but never loads... I could go on and on but you get the just worthless app.
When I selected to not receive advertising cookies the app would not let me scroll down to confirm this selection. Either this is intentional or a bug. Either is not acc. Finally got it to work. Now we will see if the app is useful.
This app waste user’s time with single option browsing. Why isn’t there an “all” option or at least the ability to select multiple. Lousy work just turning the website into an app and zero consideration for user experience.
I’m having the same experience where I get a “page expired” page when trying to log in. Speaking as someone who provides support for a health organization’s mobile app, it’s pretty bad form when your app won’t even let users log in.
It keeps saying the page I’m trying to access is no longer available. Even though I just made it. Starting to feel like I’ve been clammed…. Also can’t even see my insurance card when I go on the website… fix this already!
As others have noted, it’s a web app with zero app features like Face ID, so be ready to input your login EVERY TIME IT IS OPENED. Save your time and use the website instead…at least the web site — but not this pretend-app — will work with Keychain or a password manager.
App never works and will not let me sign in no matter what I do. Either gives an error message, says my sign in information is not valid (it is I even reset my password) It also just reroutes to the login page constantly and never gets passed that screen.
Neglected app that should be removed from App Store
This is a neglected app that should be removed from App Store. There are no bug fixes on the app history. Login does not work. If you manage to get logged in, app logs you back out. Can’t access member card. Of no use, just delete it or don’t download.
I can’t even log into the app, let alone go to the website and get my membership ID information. Paying for something that doesn’t work. I will definitely be looking into different vision insurance in the near future
I only downloaded the app to have digital access to my member id card. What a waste - the card doesn’t include my member id# AND when you go to download it wants to save it to your photos. Maybe upgrade so it has helpful info and can be used in a digital wallet?
Tried to login with the right password and ID (email), but as mentioned on other reviews the system keeps stating thy the page is no longer valid and takes you to the login page again.
Unable to access VSP at all, both on the application directly or on my phones mobile browser. Only way to access your vision insurance information is via laptop/desktop computer
The app is very buggy. It is impossible to navigate menus. It begins with a cookie notification that is impossible to navigate except by excepting all. The information is difficult to find and read. It would be better if the app didn’t exist.
