This is a good basic app. I usually miss the news on tv so I catch up with this. Unfortunately the last entire week shows the same stories. Nothing has changed? Not sure what the problem is, but I know things have happened that should show up. Hopefully the developers will fix this issue.
There are several updates to the interface of the app. There is now just the one definitive version - this one. I encourage those who had an issue with previous versions check it out and re-evaluate it. And if you still have issues, let them know here - they say they will work on it.
Previously this app was not updating itself and had news from August 7 day after day, but a recent update seems to have fixed this problem. Hopefully, there will be no further problems as I depend on this app for my local news and weather.
Ever since doing the latest update this app is worthless for me. Push alerts are current but when I open it, I get a prompt stating “Your Request Cannot Be Processed At This Time. Content Not Available” The exact same thing is happening when trying to read a story inside the app. I can see the main page but am unable to read any if the stories.
You are unable to watch live weather when there are tornado warnings. You also are not able to just immediately start watching you have to watch commercials before you can watch anything. So if it’s an emergency, you’re out of luck. I recommend the KFVS 12 app instead.
Just deleted this off my phone! I gave you access to send me push notifications for news updates, not to send me advertising about the St. Jude Dream home. I’d expect nothing less from a shady news station than to send out shady ads dressed up as news alerts.
I had to delete the app before I could get the Weather on the 6’s to stop. It was driving me NUTS! There was no way to shut it off. This new update is awful. Like the old saying, if it’s not broken, don’t fix it! I downloaded again to write my review. I just wish you would have left well enough alone! 😩😩😩😩
App is broken since Apple updated their OS in Sept 2020
I have had no news update on this app since The just iPad update in September 2020 I believe it was. I’ve reported it to WPSD with no resolution. States there is no data available. I uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Can this be fixed? I miss the news casts at times and this is how I keep up.
This is typical form, my previous version worked well and was easy to navigate but let's not leave well enough alone. Let's take something that works away and release a version that does NOT work. This latest version absolutely stinks.
I open up the App, but when I tap on a news story, the app can’t load the story and says my request can’t be processed at this time. I’m hoping this can be resolved soon so I can continue to use the app.
Clicked for push notifications for breaking news, now getting daily notifications for solicitation and drawings, sometimes more than once daily. NOT breaking news!
Doesn't allow you to view news stories once the app is actually opened. Not sure why they updated it to something that doesn't even work. Switching to WestKY Star.
After updating the app I was able to open and read 1 story. Now I cannot open any stories to read and I cannot get it to go to any other categories, i.e. Weather, crime, etc
New update brings a totally new look. And that's it!!! Hope you don't want to actually read the news or check out the weather. Pure junk. Best best is using West Kentucky Star
As others have said it needs more frequent updates. I was reading the viewer answers to their "Question of the Day," but a few users take up all the space with hateful comments to each other so I have stopped. They should put more effort into monitoring the news and comments.
This app is well organized and provides lots of information to it's viewers considering it is for a television news station. The graphics are blurry, but the amount of information makes up for the graphics.
This is a really good app for keeping up with the news- both local and international on many fronts. I personally would like a little more in depth on some items... but overall it's really useful. Doc FB
Great needs week end updates & sport score from local teams. They never get posted. Breaking news runs 7-10 days after its posted. It's a good app for me to keep up with local news I'm out of town a lot. Needs some updates but it good that I can check the Local 6 News
Good application worth following for local news and what's breaking. After stories break, go elsewhere for details. I understand the need for advertising since the app is free but I would pay for an advertisement-free version 🤓
The amount of advertisements when scrolling down through the page is ridiculous. It could offer much more news if had less advertisements. You can easily click on an ad accidentally.
It's a great app! Wish I could see hour by hour weather, but overall I really like this app. It's very accurate and there's lots of other news you can read & videos to watch for our area.
The breaking news scroll at the top of the App can sometimes run the same story for several days- not breaking news if it is old news. I think it is a great idea, but it needs to be updated more frequently.
Awful news app!! Wouldn't recommend because I think WPSD doesn't report real news, but instead they look to report things that aren't truly important to the general public! Quit reporting the small things like who got arrested locally for DUI, etc!! That is not news!!!
