I'd give the app 4 stars except for one thing; when I get a notification about something live on the news at that moment and I immediately tap it, I have to watch a 30 second ad and by the time that's done, the story I wanted to watch is over. I understand the need for ads, but couldn't they start the news feed where they prompted me to watch so I could actually see the news they notified me about? That doesn't seem too difficult.
I like the app but it seems more and more notifications are being sent out. A lot of them I feel are unnecessary. It is stories that I could wait and watch on the news or read it when I check the app. I have even turned most notifications off except for breaking news and severe weather.
Just moved to the area and I’m loving this station — they keep me up to date on everything around the area and they’re fun to watch in the mornings. The push alerts are great because I can just glance at my phone real quick to be in the know. Keep it up!
When it was good, it was good but now it has a pop up that says no connection try again. I deleted the app, reinstalled it and it’s still saying the same thing. Now it’s a useless app.
4 stars because when I get the notification of an update, it's not always on the site yet. So I'm clicking everywhere to find it for it not to be there yet. If I get the notification of a wreck, shouldn't I be able to read about it too?
I tend to use this app for local news as I do not have television. However, the app will crash two to three times every time I go to look at the news. And it will also crash while in the middle of an article. And as others have mentioned, the spelling and grammatical errors are a bit much. Seriously considering switching to another news source.
I used to like this app, but it’s gotten to be so much about the ads, it’s hard to get to the news. With so many news sources out there, why do we need this kind of barrage of unwanted content? I was ok with the ads being at the bottom (sort of) but now you got to sit through a long ad before you can get to the story. Sorry, WRDW. I know you don’t care, but I gotta delete the app.
WRDW news app used to be my favorite for local news. Now there’s so many ads it’s hard to tell what’s news and what’s not. I finally just deleted it. When I want to read local news I go to the website because it’s easier to read.
I like this app & use it a lot. I usually don't mind the adds that appear inside the app cause you have to pay the bills. But now there is a full screen add that opens every time I open the app and I have to close it to get to the news. This is unacceptable. I may have to switch to another news source.
Accuracy in articles not required by the press anymore. Spelling also out the window. Proper Grammar forget it. News 12/26 employees failed English in school. They also fail their readers with fake news. Keep up the stupid news and put the dunce caps back on.
I will get it get a breaking new notification about something that happened the day before. I cannot believe some of the things that makes the news. The live news crashes and Meredith cannot read.
I’ve had this app on my old phone for years. I just updated to a new phone (iPhone 12) and it’s saying the app a virus. I’m concerned not just for myself but, for others as well. Please check into this.
Every time I open the app and click the news articles it force closes. How there isn’t a bug fix or app update yet I don’t know. Surely I’m not the only one with this problem.
I'm deleting it and trying the other local news station app. It's so frustrating to get a notification, click on it, and then not be able to find the story.
I don’t need 30 sec updates for every person within 100 miles of Plant Vogtle who gets tested, cured & died from the Rona. Please calm down with these alerts. 🙄🤦🏻♂️🤬
I love this app. I don't get a newspaper nor do I watch TV very much. This app does MORE than both TV and newspaper. I get up to the minute alerts of whatever I CHOOSE to keep abreast of. My ALERTS keep me aware of everything I NEED or WANT to know about. Thanks WRDW!
I hate to write reviews, but this "new improved" app is terrible. Can we please have the old one back. I have tried to use the new app 4 timed and out of the 4 times the shortest load time was 58 seconds the rest were over a minute and a half. The old app loadedin under 20. Until they fix this new app I can't recommend it and will not be using it.
LIVE stream is not stable. Has been crashing for some time now. Also, don't like that I have to turn on my ringer to hear sound in videos. I need my phone on vibrate so now I am less likely to watch videos here.
Updated app on IPad. No longer able to use. Will not even open! FIX PLEASE! I am not updating on my IPhone because I am afraid the same thing will happen.
