Pop-up Adds and Spam Links

This app has pop-up adds from local businesses that are frequent and annoying. And every legitimate story is followed by countless spam links to those bogus stories that are everywhere; you k ow the ones: “What you should pay for dental implants…” “Smartphone users, do this today…” “Unsold SUVs going for Pennie’s on the dollar”… They are all spam and click-bait crap. Put legit adds that your readers/viewers would appreciate, but don’t pop them up so frequently, please. Thank you.

Too many non relevant ads

News comes in spurts but your ads are like Niagara Falls and not the least bit relevant to me. It’s like you pick the ads that pay the most and show them to everybody. This was the way things were done in yester years but now with Cookies (and milk) when one signs up things are generally a bit more.....

Way too many ads

The news itself is great, but the ridiculous number of pop up ads makes the experience almost unbearable. The app makes the station come off as more of a tabloid than a reputable news source. I understand that funding is necessary, but user experience is vitally important as well.

Frozen on tracking adds

I had to delete app. Every time I go in I get a message about reverent/less revenant adds and wants you to track me. Because I don’t want to be tracked for my own personal privacy, it is frozen and will not allow me to view the news. Your new app stinks. I only go to WRBL to get my news now.

Very Slow...Alerts do not lead to a story

App very slow to load. Get alerts on phone, but when clicking on the alert, there is no news story to follow. News on app seems out of date.

Keep digging

How does one continue to make the app worse with every update. Now when I have a notification, I can’t click on the “Alerts” section at the top of the screen. It just won’t respond. Must be nice being the only game in town.

App Update

The updated app is more focused on advertising than providing news. I understand that I may have to endure pop up advertisements, but I should not have to allow tracking in order to view the news.

Major league frustrating!

Too many ads coving the news articles. And THEN it’s almost impossible to close the ads and make them GO AWAY! What good is a news app where you can’t read the news?

Horrible since the upgrade

I can never get anything to load. Especially during breaking news. It always tells me to reload. Every once in a while it will load.

App crashes and won’t open

After the last update, the WTVM News app crashes when you try to open it. When it works it’s a good app

New update is all spam

I can’t even see the notifications I click on. It freezes and crashes. Then I get pop up ads. Changing to another news outlet.

The WTVM and FOX 54 are credible news source! I rank these two news stations with channel 2 in Atlanta!

Full of Adds -New version in Apr 21

Almost unusable. New version is full of advertising and is difficult to navigate. I will be switching to another local news app.

New App

With the new update the app locks up and can get the news. Deleted the app and reinstalled. Same issues. So I deleted the app and loaded the WRBL app. That app works fine for local news.

Only see part of the page on iPad due to ads

The app does not do this on my iPhone but the ads make it so hard to read it is almost not worth it.

Nearly all of the notifications pertain to rain. Rain in 16 mins. Rain in 22 mins. Rain in 6 mins. Is this app legit???

I Love This App But....

I love the WTVM app because I don't always get the chance to catch the news on TV and this allows me to keep me up to date. My only complaint is I have noticed that the ads have become more invasive. I could be in the middle of reading a story and an ad will pop up and I have to give it a minute before I can close it out to get back to the story. Please change this I know this is a free app and that is how revenue is created to keep it that way but it's annoying.

No new news.

Okay, whoever loads the new News is behind. There have been numerous important items that have occurred in the past few days that have not posted. All that shows up are old. The things I'm talking about have been on the television but have not made this app. So get on the ball and update the news and I will give you five stars. Until then it's three and will keep going down until fixed.

Too many alerts

Recently WTVM has been sending out alerts like crazy. The articles, within the app, are obviously not proof read before publish, because they contain grammatical errors and often lack coherency. If you are going to send me an alert at 4am, make the article, it links to, make sense.

Alert links don't open correct page

Amber alert pops up and you say to yourself, "I really should click on that. What if the perp drives by. I'd really like to have that info right now". You click on it and BAM a blank page in the sports section, or a two week old news story.

New teasers?

I downloaded the app in an attempt to keep up with the local news because my current situation doesn't afford much time, nor opportunity to "tune in" at a specific time. I would like to read all news stories and possibly watch small clips instead of missing the news altogether..

Way too many notifications

Good app to have and I use to really like this app until they started sending alerts out about their news times. I get alerts at 5 in the morning or 12 midnight and I want to throw the phone across the room. I'm really considering deleting this app if they don't stop.

Very good app. Very quick with the weather updates and breaking news for our community. Love this app!

Good app, too many non-news alerts

I deleted the app after years because the app was sending alerts before several daily newscasts. I understand the value of pushing to news programming, but it was excessive, particularly at 11 pm.

Could be 50% better

Half of what I watch on the news daily is never seen on this app so if I miss the news one day I can't click on this app and find out what's going on, Channel 9 should do better than this, I'm going to install WRBL news and compare.

No news after news alerts

This app sends news alerts, but once you go into the app, there is no further information about the news alert?!?!?!

I want the old app back

The weather map is lousy. It will not show the area I'm looking at as close as I would like. The county lines, rivers and roads are hard to separate from each other. The old app allowed much closer views. I could even get my very small town's name to appear! Change the maps back!
