I’ve been using both the appletv and iPhone app for a few weeks now, and I’m pretty pleased with it. I have had zero issues with the appletv app and only a couple minor ones on the iPhone app, specifically trouble exiting some class screens when in the collections. I was a little hesitant to purchase the app based on some of the reviews, but I’m really glad I did! It’s pretty incredible content and it looks like they’re periodically improving the software usability based on the feedback.
Adding comment here as well since this is XPass parent company. Purchased membership as it was the only membership I could find for Rumble on Thursday. When I realized I could purchase through Rumble, I attempted to cancel on Friday. On Saturday, I attempted to cancel my class and membership but received an error when canceling the class. So I used the chat to have them help, explaining that I could not cancel through the app. Sunday I follow up and have an email saying they could not cancel because I attended the Rumble class.. I did attend the class but I paid through rumble and paid for a membership through Rumble!! So now I have two memberships and am paying twice and no one there can seem to help me. Their customer service is a disaster and they state you can cancel within 3 days of purchase “hassle free” but it has been more than a hassle to get anyone there to help. If you decide to purchase this app, good luck! I never leave reviews unless it is positive normally but this company has me irritated…
I’d signed up for the 1 year subscription but stopped using the app because I found a different service that better suited my fitness needs. I forgot to cancel the subscription and when I noticed I’d been charged for a new year I reached out to see if I could have my money refunded. Turns out they have a NO REFUND policy, so I wasn’t able to get my money back. I’ve experienced this a time or two in the past with other apps who had no issue refunding me; especially when they saw that I hadn’t been using the app or service. Things like that really go a long way with users; and I’ve even rejoined some of them later on. Xponential is only about taking your money. I recommend finding a different fitness app to use.
Video classes are fantastic, and there's lots of them. App navigation however is not user friendly or very helpful, searching for specific classes in particular is challenging and overwhelming, and the UI is not consistent with iOS. Needs an iPad and/or Apple TV version, this would make home workouts much easier. Even mirroring to Apple TV results in a less than full screen image with huge black borders, and UI elements cover parts of the videos to make it even worse. And it would be nice if we could sync watch data (Fitbit/Garmin/Apple Watch/etc) to with classes for more workout data metrics, but that's currently not an option that I can find.
This app is great and the coaches are super encouraging! I’ve loved using it and being able to change up my workout routine My one complaint is that it doesn’t show when I’ve completed a class, I’m currently on week 4 of 6 for the BFT KETTLEBELL and it doesn’t show that I’ve completed any classes even though I watch the videos all the way through Might be a bug that needs to be fixed.
I love this app! I’m so grateful for the variety of classes. I love barre and pilates, but I love jumping into a boxing, cycling, yoga, or dance class! I appreciate how the app lets you search by time limit to choose a class. It makes squeezing a 15-20 min workout into my day so easy! They also have programs in the app too. Right now I’m doing a 6-week kettlebell training program which is awesome! I love hitting the gym and using this app- feels like I have a personal trainer. Big thanks Xpotential!
I’ve been using the Xponential app 3-4 days a week since COVID, as I switched my barre classes from in person to home. I really enjoy that however there are very few 30 minute classic class offerings now. The classic class is what made pure barre popular in the first place. I do not need empower classes to raise my heart rate as it’s already elevated in a classic class- nor do we need countless targeted classes. The beauty of pure barre is the full body workout. PLEASE bring back more of the 30 minute classic classes!!
Love the workouts but the app is really annoying sometimes. When you have to pause the class, it restarts when the phone locks. When you open it again, the audio is still going and you have to reset to where you stopped. It also restarts at the end of a class.
I absolutely love the brands that are part of this app. I’m familiar with each brand having their own app but having access to all of them is way better. Variety is great and the app is super easy to use. There is so much to try between all the brands and different class types. The live classes are awesome too!
I’ve been a Peleton member for two years and decided to subscribe to X+ for Barre and yoga. Unfortunately, the app needs work! Not only is it difficult to use - no filter / searches for time/ instructor / class but the screen is super small - even on an iPad - and you can not see the instructor’s feet. The instructor wears black against a black background!!! Please develop an app for iPad with a larger view screen and change the background or the instructor footwear to help is see what he or she is doing.
Love that I can easily get my favorite pure barre and yogasix classes from home, any time I want them! The app is easy to use, has live classes, great variety and love the content. Plus love that I can jump between the brands. Stretch lab is great to have after workouts for recovery! Def a must have
I was a long time lover of pure barre and had used pbgo before they switched to this platform. I can’t even get through a workout without the app failing multiple times throughout, the search feature is not user friendly at all, and it doesn’t save your progress or preferred classes so every time it quits mid-workout I have to go through multiple pages to get back to where I was. It’s a shame because I love pure barre, but I canceled my subscription because of this terrible app.
App is great with content. Could have better navigation. Definitely needs improvement on tracking. I have done 3 video classes as part of the pure barre programs and it hasn’t registered any of them as completed (still showing 0 of 5 classes completed). Apple Watch data is also not syncing.
When using the App for classes on the go, the class shows up on my iPad as a SMALL square about a fourth the size of my screen! And no way to expand it either. Needless to say, this will not work for using the App to work out. I could not find any help within the App either. Not a fan! Not going to be able to use this App! The previous Pure Barre App I had was so easy to use and I had no trouble viewing the classes from ANY device. Bring it back PLEASE!
The classes are fine- pretty much an at-home version of what you do in the gym. What blows my mind is that there is NO SEARCH FUNCTION. If you did part of a program (say, a 5-day series), good luck finding the rest of those classes. Or your coach tells you to go open up a particular course to do? Yeah, good luck finding that too. Search is a basic function of pretty much ANY app, let alone one that draws from 10 different content providers.
I love pure barre at home, but the app is disappointing. I can’t press pause when my baby cries and then come back to where I left off. I can’t answer a phone call and have the app still playing in the corner of the screen. It is way over priced. FitOn is free which is nice and those works outs are great but they aren’t the same as pure barre:(( I wish the app was better.
5 stars because I use the app a lot. But I wish it was customizable to me. I wish I could queue up my workouts and I wish it recorded a history of the classes I have done.
I love Club Pilates but this app is absolute garbage. You can’t even search for the classes you want to take or may have left off on. Don’t even get me started on the TV app. You can’t even properly rewind. For what they charge for memberships, they need to put some of those resources into their tech. I have had 2 workouts interrupted due to tech glitches. I’m not happy at all!
I use this app almost everyday for YogaSix classes. I love all the instructors and the different types of classes offered, and it’s been a great supplement to my physical and mental health. However, the platform is really bad. I hope they listen to these reviews and upgrade the app soon.
I have never written a review because I don’t normally bother to. But I have NEVER had so much trouble trying to re-cancel my subscription after I ALREADY cancelled it once but have CONTINUED to be charged. Additionally I teach at a pure barre studio and have NOT received a paycheck in almost 2 MONTHS because of Xponential. This is an awful company. Save your money and sanity.
I love the variety of this app but the function is terrible. You cannot pause the video….if you do it starts over and throws you out of your workout. Very frustrating and time consuming.
The videos show up very small on my iPad mini…they’re actually larger on my phone because the resolution appears to be designed only for phones. Would be nice to use the larger screen for a larger image.
No app for iPad, you get tiny phone sized square. No ability to zoom in. Waste of money unless you only want to do workouts on the phone. Should have gotten mirror app instead but paid for a year upfront for this. Will try to cancel and get my money back
Terrible! Huge downgrade from Pure Barre app. This app isn’t included on Roku or Xfinity so I have mirror the video from on my iPad or phone and that doesn’t work well because you can’t remove an arrow on the screen. Also, you can’t save favorites and even though I filter for Pure Barre, other workouts appear.
I’m mostly on the app for pure barre. The workouts are great, but they’re rarely putting out new content. November had 5 new workouts and October only had 2! What’s going on??
Have been unable to access this app after signing up at brick and mortar store. No help whatsoever from parent company. Was supposed to come with the membership I signed up for I don’t feel that I need to pay extra to access this website.
They’re all replays “encore” and they post new barre workouts every 2 or more weeks. If you workout more than twice per month you will be bored. I wish pure barre never merged with them as a platform for their workouts!!!!!!!!
I’ve tried to sign up again, I’ve tried “forgot password”, I never get the sign up email, etc. their help center has limited hours and not able to connect. Etc….
I absolutely adore having Pure Barre to go since I stopped going to the studio during Covid. I also love the sculpting classes through Yoga 6. You will honestly not find a harder yoga content. I just hope the app can find easier ways to search for the classes - but I promise you will love the teachers and the content!
The website is great. However I can’t get any videos to play on my iPhone or iPad app. I also wish they had a specific version of the app for the iPad.
This is the worst app I’ve ever tried to use. I belong to both Pure Barre and Yoga six an d am unable to use this app for either one. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but it’s really terrible.
Can someone tell me why I just got a notification from the xponential+ app saying I had a message, & when I clicked on it, it was some nasty porn spam?
I have the same comment as “JBencive”. I miss the Go App that you can favorite/save work outs you want to do again. The filtering in this app is not good. I like the filter by exercise type (stretch, legs, etc) and duration, which they have. But it would be better to filter by class type. For example, “AkT” “Tone” or “PureBarre” “Classic” would be ideal filters. I also don’t like that Boxing work outs will show up when I’m in the AXT or Pure Barre sections. If I’m in AkT I only want to see AkT work outs. Also, I’ve noticed that some of the work outs in AKT will say the wrong or leave off equipment in the description. Ideally, the GO app functions with the new filters would be the best!!
I’m a pure barre Go subscriber. In late April 2022 I was informed that my account will be migrated to xponential. In early May the video platform on pure barre Go was discontinued and I downloaded and registered on xponential as instructed. However my existing subscription is not reflected on xponential - according to customer service, the migration takes place in phases and my account is still in queue to be migrated, completion date TBD! This means currently I cannot access the service I paid for on either platforms and nobody knows when it will be solved. Why did they discontinue the old platform BEFORE all the paid customers are being migrated to the new one? I want my money back.
Can’t save favorites, not in chronological order, etc.
Not only can you not save favorites, when you apply a filter for one type of workout, you can’t then filter only the “brand” you’ve been using. You have to scroll through all the workouts to find the one you’ve been using and even then, it’s not in chronological order of when they were filmed. No way to keep track of what you’ve already done, what you liked etc. Obv. they want you to try different classes. Plus, it says I’m linked to my physical studio, but yet I can’t get to it from studio’s app. It makes me go through the whole setup process again. Not user friendly.
Super excited about this new app! Xponential+ allows me to workout with the brands I already love in studio with the flexibility of taking them wherever I am or whatever my busy schedule looks like for the day! I also love their wide array of brands so I can mix things up week to week and their ability to book an in studio class all in one app. It’s a one stop shop for fitness👏
I love the variety of workouts the app offers to mix my routine up each day! Great for at home and in a gym setting as well. I also appreciate the live feature so I can schedule my workouts and join with family and friends. Download and try it out, you won’t regret it!
I used to love the old Pure Barre app. They switched to this and it’s really not user friendly. It is difficult to search and filter through classes, do finding my favorites is hard to do. There is also no way to favorite classes either. I contacted customer support, and they said they are constantly updating the app, so hopefully these features will be available soon. Until then, I canceled my membership.
