Fat torching circuits!!!
I’ve been working out regularly for about four years now. I’ve hit plateaus and have had fluctuations along the way like anyone else and I usually get bored after about 3 months and want to try something different or switch up my workouts to avoid plateaus. One thing I do know for a fact is that weight training followed by a circuit will definitely shred you down!!! I did a four week program during the pandemic that followed that recipe and it kept me right!! When gyms started opening again I shifted more towards weight training with cardio warm up and 2-3 days of 20 mins of cardio. I noticed by body wasn’t as lean as when doing the circuits after weight training and I love how this app incorporates that into the workout which helps with accountability. I’ve been using this app now for about a week and I’m trying to play around with it because I need my workouts to be shorter yet still effective as I no longer have the luxury of spending 2+ hrs in the gym like I did in grad school. This app allows you to choose how much time you have to workout and then makes a customized routine for you. The only thing I wish is that you could pick a longer time. I’m going to stick to the workout plans and not add any extra workouts to see how I fare out after about 6-8 weeks. I’m looking forward to seeing how this app can help make life easier!

Love this - Few suggestions
Hi! Absolutely love this app & it's helped me with the gym so much, however l've run into a few issues and have a few suggestions. The other day, I noticed my health info in settings was all off. My watch had been tracking my activity every minute - so my workout minutes were at 4x over what they actually were, and my workouts were being tracked 2 or 3 times in my data in apple Health from my watch. I also wanted to suggest, during a workout session, I think you should be able to re-order workouts. I've run into this several times in the gym where if a machine or equipment is unavailable, I'll want to move on to another workout in Zing & come back to the other when the machine is available, but there's no option to re-order the workouts. Then I just get frustrated because I can't switch around my workout based on what equipment I can use. For example, if the order of my workout in Zing is dumbbell press, and then chest press machine next... if the bench isn't open for me to do the dumbbell press, I can't reorder or skip ahead to do the chest press machine at that moment while waiting for a bench to open. That would be EXTREMELY helpful. I also really value the rating how hard or easy a set was, and it only pops up and asks me for a few workouts, if there was a button at the bottom of the screen for each workout to optionally tell Zing how hard or difficult it was, this would be helpful.

Love this App!
- I have always had a tough time with being consistent with my work outs until I discovered this app! I haven’t missed more than two days since I started over a month ago! I was able to easily slip this app into my morning routine and have never felt better since! I look forward to it everyday and make sure I get it done. The flexibility to choose how long you want each session to be allows you to get some activity in no matter how your day is looking. The exercises are effective and show real results in just a week! Consistent is absolutely key and this app has subconsciously helped me with that! - I will say is that the technicalities of the app itself could be better. Sometimes my music disconnects in the middle of a session or the video demonstration will cut out, but besides that, this app is totally worth it! - one way to improve the app would be to have more options within the workout session screen. For example, if I choose a 15 min workout and then decide I want to add another 15 min, I want to add that time without starting a whole new workout session. Another would be to allow the user to skip the rest periods or control the amount of time each rest period is. Sometimes they are too long for the exercise at hand. That’s just my humble option. But I love this app overall! 9.7/10

Impressed so far
Each year I start off downloading a new fitness app to help me stay on track my fitness goals. The reason for that I normally lose interest then end up not working out due to being bored with the app. Now we are here the year 2023 and I have downloaded ZING! What makes this app different from the rest is that you have to take a fitness test (which is pretty cool). You get 3 free workouts (I’ve passed that and paid for the year). Since I have a home gym I pick the gym workouts. 1 thing I noticed is that there were no audio guidance with the gym workouts and it also doesn’t activate the watch app (I would imagine they are working on that). Besides that The workouts are GREAT you get a warmup, your workout and a cool down. I really like that it’s an actual person demonstrating the workouts instead of an animation. I see this app really helping me stay on track with my fitness journey through the whole year. (If so I’ll be signing up again for next year). Once you finish your workout for the day you can see tomorrows workout until tomorrow (at 1st I thought that was odd but now I like cause It gives me something to look forward to)…another cool feature is the fresh muscle group tracker…I’ll say just give it a try before you buy and see if it works for you

I feel it’s over rated.
I’m not sure what happened but it reversed my progress. I also don’t know how to control my subscription or purchase. Will it be renewed? Do I have the option to not renew. I don’t think I want to renew when the time comes. I’m hoping it doesn’t auto renew. I’m a little anxious about it. That makes this app undesirable. The assigned workouts were ok until it reversed my progress and not isn’t sufficient. Three months later I change my rating to 5 stars. I guess in the beginning it was building me up. It’s working me harder then I would’ve on my own or my other current apps because it’s personalized. As far a subscription renewal, when it was time it asked me if I wanted to renew. I did. I paid for a year renewal. I’m going to follow it’s nutritional recommendation too. Thanks Zing. I’m really motivated spending the year with you. I have purchased this for a year. I loved it until it updated. I can’t get in at all on my phone. I am having difficulty logging in. Please help.

IT’S A SCAM! NOT ALL AMAZING LIKE THEY SAY!
I found the app through TikTok and decided to give it a try because I am getting married and I want to look and feel good for my big day. I read the reviews look at videos and the app looks great. I downloaded it filled out the info, paid for the premium and the body scan. I was so excited to do my goals but the workout days did not work it my schedule so I asked the AI chat and they said what days would work and said they would change it. I went back to them and they told me they were sorry I misunderstood and I need to make my own workouts. What is the whole point in pay the premium and body scan if the app doesn’t adjust to your own needs? I canceled my subscription and got an email saying “Your Zing Premium subscription has been canceled, and you won’t be charged again. Your subscription will be active until August 6, 2024” so I thought I might as well try to do what I can on the days I can and when I went to login, it said my account didn’t exist. Are you kidding? I tried logging in again and it made me create an entirely new account and my premium subscription and body scan that I already paid for was gone. I looked at my bank account to see if they refunded the money perhaps, they have not. I have no idea what is going on but don’t pay for Zing or use Zing. They aren’t as individualized as they advertised and they just want your money. Such a waste of time and money!

Concept cool but execution not so much
Probably the cool thing is the AI body scan which of course seems a little dodgy because I want I look at my body and judging and put they got the weight right I think they got the types of fat right so that was really cool so I gave it two stars. I also work out separate from the app and you cannot add additional workouts, which I feel like is ridiculous because the app judges you on an activity level but yet I don’t have my phone with me every single second of every single day and I also don’t have an Apple Watch so it does not hook up to other workout apps that are not necessarily Apple synced. This is ridiculous because I do have a food calorie logging app that even though it doesn’t sync to other workout apps but it does this one, it still does allow you to add your own workout with estimated calories burned. I think for what this app offers and how expensive it is the features are just not what you would expect from this type of app. More every day accessible, helpful features that are more orientated around lifestyle would be more beneficial on this app. And the ability to add calories burned from workouts outside of this app because I use multiple apps to work out and I work out on my own in addition to this app, but I only get credit for working out with this app yet I am doing way more than that.

Don’t waste your money
Update: I finally got a refund after trying to get my subscription working. I would receive an email from support and would reply then wouldn’t ever get a reply. After the refund I even asked if I signed up again and got another subscription if it would eventually give me the same “no active subscriptions” error. I’ve never gotten a response. It’s really too bad because I absolutely loved this app and the workout plans it make for me. If they would just provide a support phone number, I’m sure this issue could’ve been resolved in a few minutes vs weeks. So disappointed Don’t waste your money with this app. I paid for a year subscription and a few months in can’t access the workouts. It says I have no active subscriptions. I have tried to restore my purchase but it still says no active subscriptions. I have emailed them, commented on their ad and Facebook group and haven’t received anything back. Of course there’s no phone number to contact them at. Just save yourself the frustration. I have emailed their support and have not gotten a resolution. So far all they’ve done is reset my password which wasn’t an issue to begin with.

Workout creation is nonesense
There is no correlation between the body areas I choose or the timing and intensity of the workout. If I choose 15-20 min 100% core I get a 7 min glute work out. So disappointing. I have to add 15 min core everyday bc your full body workouts you create for 20 minutes won’t cut it. Somehow the algorithms don’t align with the choices. I would add a few humans in the loop! I want a 35 min or longer intense workout - full body HIIT or strength . I get a 20 minute mid level workout. My heart rate doesn’t even go up. I chose workout at home indicating I have benches and weights. I NEVER get a workout with weights. If I am advanced and I want an intense 30 minute strength workout I would think your algorithm would create a ‚beach body insanity kind of workout‘ with weights. Time between hopping around for 45 seconds is 30 seconds or 1 minute between sets. Not worth getting out of bed for. I just tried to send with my name Zeeva for my account and it said. Nickname already taken! Really? When you sign up and create a password, it is a bad combination not being able to repeat the password to confirm it. Sure you add the ‘eye’ for us to check what we typed. But it is NOT working. I suggest to start UI/UX testing. A little late but better late than never.

Great tool to focus you
I’ve been using zing for about two weeks now and I gotta say it is worth it. First, you have to get your measurements and do your fit test (this is you training the AI program). Yes, the body scan has a one time fee but it is worth it: it is also insanely accurate compared to my in person assessments I get at work. The AI auto updates based on your routine and performance; tracks your muscles that need recovery; and demonstrates the moves with the proper cadences. It is a very well built app. Things I would like to see: the ability to add to the routine (for example I almost always add in core work) and the ability for you to do body building verse body performance (example: really heavy weight at low reps) while it is ‘possible’ by adjusting the reps and weights manually, a muscle building feature would be great. Last thing I would PAY for: a customized eating plan to accompany the work outs. That would be the absolutely chefs kiss! Overall, very pleased and highly recommended!

Excellent AI Ap
My wife introduced me to this app. I am 49 years old and have been working out since my teens. I currently work out from home due to an upcoming move. I have always made my own workouts, but tend to overtrain. I have used Les Mills, Beachbody and strength and various other books and online information to design different workouts. My wife is also a personal trainer and has been working for a long time, so this has done wonderful workouts every day to keep my mind and body involved and work out muscles based on rest and previous exertion. The customer service is amazing and they are very receptive to new ideas or bugs that may be present within the app. They always respond in a very timely manner although it’s early thus far this app has exceeded my expectations. I also utilize Fitbod, which I found the workouts to be quite good as well, but it was even more glitchy and would often not save my settings. I also prefer the look of this app and the flow.

Best workout app I’ve come across
I've been using Zing for the past week, and it has truly revolutionized my fitness routine. This app offers an incredible range of workouts that cater to all fitness levels, from beginner to advanced. The user-friendly interface makes navigating through different workout plans and tracking progress a breeze. One of the standout features of Zing is its personalized workout recommendations. By taking into account my fitness goals and current level, the app suggests routines that are both challenging and achievable. The variety of exercises keeps things fresh and engaging, preventing the monotony that often comes with sticking to a single routine. The instructional videos are clear and concise, demonstrating proper form and technique, which is crucial for avoiding injuries. I also appreciate the motivational tips and reminders that keep me on track, even on days when I'm feeling less enthusiastic about working out. Additionally, the community aspect of Zing is fantastic. Connecting with other users, sharing progress, and participating in challenges adds a social element that makes the fitness journey more enjoyable and supportive. Overall, Zing has exceeded my expectations. It’s not just an app; it's like having a personal trainer in your pocket. Whether you’re a fitness enthusiast or just starting out, Zing is a must-have tool to help you achieve your health and fitness goals.

Loving this so far
I’ve been looking to incorporate more strength training into my workouts, but never have known what weights and exercises I should be doing. I’ve loved these workouts so far. It’s been about 3 weeks, but I’m already able to squat 120lbs and never thought I’d be able to do that. So far the workouts have been manageable and I love being able to adjust the workouts to be a little longer from 30 to 40 mins and change out exercises if I don’t have the right equipment. I have run into some of the issues others have mentioned: (1) Apple Watch continuing to run after workout is done and logging extra calories (2) sending a reminder to workout even if you have completed the workout (3) next button on Apple Watch will get stuck and can’t be adjusted. I’d love if the app could add some features: (1) ability to adjust workout based on muscle strain (2) monthly progress check ins (3) being able go back to an exercise or set if you accidentally move forward (4) suggested meal plans to hit goals.

Promising but falls short
This app shows a lot of promise but has some serious issues that makes it fall short. Other users are right. The initial experience feels like a money grab. You are asked to subscribe and only find out afterwards that thst doesnt include all the feature (scans) and they ask you to pay more all before you even experience the app. Once inside yes you can specify equipment you have available but it doesnt matter, i generated 20 different workouts with ALL equipment available and not once did it recommend anything more then just a dumbbell and yoga mat workout. Additionally even if the “AI” is doing anything I’m not sure how it can understand how much you are loading your muscles without knowing the weights of the dumbbells you are using. Others are also right that if you email them they just say they have a high volume of issues and may not get back to you for several days. All in all I might recommend Fitbod but I do think that if Zing could get its act together it may be a great app that I’d come back to.

So far so good
I’ve tried multiple programs with no luck. The gym is too intimidating for me. A “custom workout plan with meal plan” completely missed the mark and was a waste of money. It’s either moves I can’t do due to knee injury or it just doesn’t keep my attention. I was able to note that I have a knee injury and I havent had any issues. Even exercises I can’t do (very few) I am able to modify it without feeling like I’m not getting a good work out. I love how some days I’m short on time or just don’t feel like working out I can change the workout to fit my needs for the day but still feel as if I accomplished something. The intensity is great and the workouts are great! It’s only been about 2 weeks but the progress is there and I actually look forward to working out (almost) every day

Great app, some small room for improvement.
So far, I really like the app, there’s a few things that I feel it’s lacking in that could be added and make it 10 times better than it is (not that it’s a bad app by any means), like, I wish there was a feature that would allow you to put in an injury like if you had pulled a muscle in your leg or something like that. And I wish there was more customization options for the length of the workouts. And, when you go to adapt the work out, I wish you could add extra work out on top of how many the app initially set up for you. another really cool feature would be a chat that you could talk to and advice questions that would then integrate the information you provided that chat into your workout routine. otherwise, though it has been very good, I love the fact that I can track my weights and reps on my Apple Watch so I don’t have to hold my phone constantly.

Not Syncing with Watch
The app is great! I really like that it displays the percentages of muscle fatigue and programs workouts accordingly. I also love the recovery/stretching workouts. I appreciate not having to think about it, just follow my phone. It sounds like yoga is in the works… would really use that! A few struggles: this app is not communicating with my Apple Watch, although it is connected to Apple Health. It’s not showing up in my watch app for me to install. I’ve gone back and forth with customer service because this is a very important feature but they have not been able to come up with a solution. So that’s kind of a bummer. I like the idea of the body scan feature but I am skeptical at how accurate it is. I had to rescan a few times (reinstalling/troubleshooting the Apple Watch stuff) and I got pretty different values—like a difference of you have 20lbs to lose vs you have 40lbs to lose. But I know a lot of factors go into that. Maybe it’s just for fun.

Overall
I’m still trying this app out. I don’t like that I have to do the exercises in order and can’t jump around. Most of the time when I go to the gym it’s busy and I have to wait for machines. Not being able to skip an exercise and then come back to it is frustrating. Also I can’t figure out how to delete a workout that I went through to show the app off. I came to the conclusion it can’t be deleted there for adding to my history and making it more than what it really is. I also don’t like I can’t create my own workouts for anything but strength. The scan I’m angry about. they don’t tell you until after you do the scan that in order to see results you have to pay a one time fee. I passed up my one time free scan at the gym because I thought it was included in the subscription. But overall I like that it gives me a workout and I don’t have to think about what I want or need to do when I get to the gym.

Boring, 0 added value
It’s the most boring, inefficient and unpersonalized work out app. The program is so in-adapted, the exercices are repetitive without having a virtual coach explaining the exercise, advising when moving to a new one or even push for support, which is the main thing we need with this type of app…, you have to count yourself the number of repetitions, drop the weights after each set to free your hand and press the ‘Next” button to see the next set 🙈, you can stop, skip exercices,do them right, wrong… no track whatsoever of what you are doing, weight are chosen randomly. even the review they ask for after every training are limited to couple of improvements options they are giving, so it doesn’t even allow you to say why you didn’t like the training of the day, to hope for any type of improvement… bottom line, it’s a hopeless situation, I’m unsubscribing after not even 5 days of use…doesn’t even worth the $25 for the 3 months trial.. more than the money, it’s a waste of your time and your nerves.

Great app!
I’ve been a fitness enthusiast for many years enjoying a variety of things from CrossFit to distance running, cycling, traditional strength training, etc. I’m super ADHD & get bored with anything redundant so this is a new addition to the numerous things in my fitness repertoire. Like many others, I have a busy life & don’t necessarily have time to strategically plan out a daily workout that’s going to give me the results I’m looking for & keep me on track. This app takes out that headache & offers some great positive encouragement for those needing that boost to keep them consistent & motivated. I definitely recommend anyone giving it a try. I’ve been using zing for less than a month now & just by pairing it with mindful eating has already started producing the overall results I was looking for.

The AI coach I was looking for
I turn 35 this year and have become concerned with my health and fitness as I age. I’ve spent a lot of time researching an app that uses the data from HealthKit in a smart way to create custom workouts and I think this is it. I use this and Cronometer to track my nutrition. Combined, I feel I have the necessary tools, information, and personalized nutrition and workout plan to stay in shape moving forward. The body scan seems to be about 1.5 pounds off for me in the overall weight, which is still very very good considering it takes almost no time. It also manages to be very close my actual body fat percentages. This is a glimpse of the AI future of fitness that I personally have been very excited about and I’m very much looking forward to upcoming features!

Functionality makes this a 3
Love the body analysis .. love the workout getting readjusted through my progression enjoy that I can adjust my workout based on time which is great ! .. However functionality is awful if slapp. If I miss a day I was suppose to workout it does not readjust to let me do what I miss . If I did upper body and I was suppose to full body next day but I missed gym then the next time I go I get upper body again .. If I messed up and hit complete there is no way and delete If I want to do another workout example a focus on abs.. after my upper workout I I can do custom one however the next day I end up with the same workout ?? Doesn’t let me go skip a workout and come back to it in the even the machine is being used i sometime have to skip it and come back .. to jt . There is no way to do this you have to complete it to get the next workout and can’t come back to it to make any edits I wanted hiit incorporated but I have not had any this far I selected supersets but only 1 or 2 days does it incorporate superset . The soo it’s self is so good it can be a 5 cause if it’s concept .. and personalization just need to have some user functionality to be more flexible with the user . Will continue using as a premium member hoping new updates will occur and improve over all user experience .

Good App - but…
Gym rat for 30+ years and used a lot of apps. Thank god for AI apps today! This is a good one. It’s competition, FitBod has the edge on features that generally overcomes FitBod’s AI shortfalls - which are are barely perceptible over Zing. Plus of Zing - the AI, the visuals, design of workout based on your gym’s equipment, selection of body condition goals, mini-challenge and motivation awards, AI/online coach for questions, tracks muscle, recovery great yearly fee. Down sides: Limited options offered when looking to swap an equivalent target muscle workout, equipment selection is good but not great, no built in timer (for timed warmups or cooldown), can’t super set two workouts (when they are not supersetted), only one gym setup (Fitbod allowed storing multiple gyms like a hotel gym in addition to my normal gym, then adjusted the workout for the day), only video instructions no written for proper technique.

Misleading Auto Renew
I downloaded the app on a trial basis for $6.99 and shortly after realized it was not for me, and was most definitely not worth the $38 a month after that. My membership page stated my plan “Expires on Feb 29th” which led me to believe that my plan would do exactly that, expire and be unsubscribed. That is not what happened, my account auto renewed for $38 a month and I immediately cancelled as soon as I realized that. I contacted the company and advised them what happened and the response I got was almost mocking me by saying that is how subscription services work and that I needed to cancel before the auto renew and that acknowledged I was 5 hours late in my cancellation, and therefore would not be getting a refund. I understand subscription based services, but never have I seen one that states the plan will expire, and never mentions anything about auto renewing, especially for $38…and then point out that I was 5 hours late in canceling the subscription…disappointed in how they handled my request.

Seeing results!
I’ve used a few workout apps and never really enjoyed them. They were always focused on losing weight and toning instead of building muscle. I saw zing advertisements a few times and decided to try it out since I stopped seeing results with normal workouts. I felt dead after the first workout but, I kid you not, started noticing differences within the first week! Thought I was going crazy until I got my coworker to try it and he said the same thing! Now I’m getting comments on how I’m starting to look jacked and seeing abs poking through. Also my pants no longer fit because my glutes and hammies are getting so Muscular. (Booty is looking great too) Will definitely be continuing to use zing with my gym progress. Worth the subscription!

Needs more work
I decided to give this app a shot with its AI to see if it works. I love the “personalized” workouts. It’s great to not have to think about what I’m going to do at the gym every day. And what’s also nice is it’s easy enough to find an alternative workout in a premade list if you can’t do the assigned one for whatever reason. The biggest fallback of this app is that the AI isn’t learning from me at all. It’s completely auto-generated and not progressing with me. When I took my second body scan, I learned there are no systems in place to analyze your progress. The old data is completely overwritten and lost. How is this AI? AI is meant to learn and refine its process based on continuous data. But if it’s just erasing old data, then when is the learning happening? This does explain why it seems to be stuck on targeting the same major muscle groups while only changing out the minor muscle groups. And it explains why it asks me to schedule my week after every workout. I understand wanting to protect user privacy, but if I’m opting in to an app that IS AI, I WANT it to use my data, save my data, and learn from it to ACTUALLY tailor my workouts. I don’t know how the other AI workout apps are, so I highly suggest looking into the others to see if they do a better job before jumping into this one.

Lots of bells and whistles… so many things go wrong
At first it was little things (never mind having to restart my Apple Watch every session because Zing freezes on it and won’t dismiss) app freezing or quitting, having to hit the DONE button repeatedly because the app was stuck and then it skips the next 2 sets so you have to go back and keep track manually. But this isn’t a program designed for humans. On paper it’s great but in function it’s a mess. Supersets with equipment that would never be near each other in a real gym, randomly going from max rep weight to double that (from 55 to 95lbs for tricep rope push down) so you end up fiddling with the numbers so much it defeats the purpose of having a planned out workout. I’ve created 3 support tickets in 2 months without any response from the company. The list of workouts is great and the video to show form is well done. It’s the functionality that is essentially broken.

Solid Investment
Decided to give Zing a try after seeing an instagram ad for it. Didn’t exactly have high expectations since I’d been using Home Workouts. Definitely was not disappointed! Great workout options are generated during my workout days and the AI considers the equipment I do and don’t have access to. If I prefer to do a different workout there’s plenty of alternatives to work the same muscle groups. The highlight is definitely that it scans your workout and I can feel steady improvement with each day as far as my limits with both weights and reps. Definitely a great tool if you’re just starting out and unsure like myself. Currently 4 weeks in to my 12 week workout plan and I can say I’m satisfied so far.

A lot of glitches, I do not recommend it
1) the calendar reminder feature filled my calendar up with over 200 calendar entries for every day of the week. So I had to finally just sit down for a day and a half and literally erase every calendar entry so that my phone would not keep going dead sending me notifications about working out. I will never trust your calendar again. 2) The equipment list that you offer is very limited. I have to keep substituting equipment and exercises for the stuff that you offer. So my workout weight amount are completely thrown off each time I go to a different gym. Very limited number of exercises also. Pretty disappointing. 3) I am unable to update my injury list. So if I sprain an ankle or get arthritis in my elbows, I’m not able to go back and update it.. 4) so your app is very limiting, and it does not seem to be adapting as I get stronger, or in better shape I’ve been using it for at least 4 to 6 weeks now, and I am not pleased

Transformation!!!
I’ve been using this app consistently for about 9 months and my body is transforming into something I never imagined for myself! My core is so much stronger and I do not struggle to climb stairs or run around with my kids. The workouts themselves use to be so difficult, I would cry through some of my workouts. Now I almost cry because I can’t believe how far I’ve come and how much easier these movements have become. I’m so proud of myself. I love getting dressed now, and going out and being in pictures. My entire attitude has changed all by being committed to opening this app everyday and just doing what it says whether I felt like I had the hang out it or not. Just keep showing up!

Subscription issues
I was being a charged premium rates for months and didn’t know it. I thought I had cancelled it immediately after I signed up because I read that it was hard to get out of the contract. The website is not set up conveniently for you to figure out how to unsubscribe. It is easy to get your money but it is hard to figure out how to control the access to your payments. I thought I had an account through Apple but I signed up online. This makes it very difficult to stop a subscription. I think I have finally cancelled the account but I am monitoring now to make sure after 6 months I didn’t even know I was paying for. It looks like a great app and I am sure that it can fine tune your body but I have problems dealing with any site that has control over my money. At least if I had an account through Apple I could be sure to cancel when I wanted.

Needs more work
I am using this for muscle gain and I was doing heavier weights less weights and this app seems to do low weight with a lot of reps. It is not efficient or as challenging. Also it’s frustrating on some of the models when it says use 15 lbs for example but it says it’s a KB lunge but shows DB lunge. 1 15lb kettle bell is different from 2 15lb dumb bells. Also when you do landline and it tells you weight is that put on the bar or just the bar? How much does the bar weigh? There are 45lb bars and a lighter one. My last complaint was I started this workout plan right after a leg day and it started me on a leg day so I customized for arms, so I did arms and it didn’t update for the next day. It had me doing arms again. It should take that into consideration. Not sure I will continue with this. Was hoping it would be more weight focused and less HITT. I do sprinting separately.

AI chat bot is the extent of the AI
I have used other work out apps before and they all have good points and bad. Thought I’d try this one for the AI aspect of it. Not much AI in the workouts that I can see. Have to manually adjust the workout days continuously, It will try to put you of a 7 days schedule even after you input the days you can workout out. When you adjust days it will over work muscles and under work others. So you have to start manually adjusting the muscles groups. When you strain something and put in the muscle restriction on the profile. It will still try to work the muscles. So then you have to keep manually adjusting the app away from the muscle group or area until it heals. But the AI chat bot works well. It won’t give a solution for any thing beyond telling to to manually adjust the app. But it does work well.

Has potential, but not there yet
A few things that make this app…less than expected. The constant barrage of prompts from the “AI coach” is quite annoying. The AI body composition scanner is not incorporated into the program the way the advertisements made it seem to be. The one and done scan is not worth it. While it’s a great feature, it really needs to be incorporated into the overall training process better. Like weekly/monthly scans to check progress. The workouts are ridiculously short and don’t offer much explanation as to why, just generic prompts. Other apps gave me AI generated workouts and have a more robust exercise library, allows me to change things on the fly if needed, and just overall a better experience. This app doesn’t allow me to go back once I’m in a workout, which is incredibly annoying. This app could be truly amazing, but just extremely lacking right now.

Almost Perfect
The app has improved quite a bit in the last 6 months including being able to pick the amount of time you have and specific muscle groups to have it create a custom workout. This is unmatched and got the app from 3 to 4 star rating. Then you can swap workouts out depending on what’s available at the gym or what feels better to you. A couple BIG IMPROVEMENTS needed though are more variations. They only have a small fraction of the number of exercises and lifts that can be done. Granted they are targeting most muscle groups, they need more that matches gym equipment. Single vs Double arm/leg. They also need a way to edit your full routine once you’ve started including the ability to see what’s next. Even a way to swap out the order depending on availability of equipment.

Good app but could use improvements
I needed an app that plans out exactly what workouts I should be doing everyday so I don’t have to think about it, and Zing does just that. There is some amount of customization you can choose for your workout, but I hope they will add more options like the ability to change the amount of rest time between moves, which currently can’t be seen until you actually start the workout. I also cannot find anywhere in the app to change my planned workout schedule for the week. It will prompt me randomly to update my workout times, but as far as I can tell you cannot manage it on your own without being prompted by the app. Small things like this make the app frustrating at times, but it is definitely still a good tool to keep me motivated to do my workouts.

I Like It But It Doesn’t Deliver On Intensity
I’ll give it 6 more months. It’s a great app overall, but it’s sadly mild in terms of giving an intense workout to an advanced gym rat like myself. It is also very limited in incorporating various machines like the typical ones at planet fitness (ab machines, smith machines, etc.). Lastly, I would really like to see more options for replacing certain workouts. The format seems tailored to those with injuries/conditions and novices while leaving no room for the well conditioned to push themselves further with its AI integration. All in all, great for adecent routine, but the gloves need to come off and intensity needs to be a staple in this application, otherwise an app like FitBod will be the default. To the developers, you have the AI, maximize it, capitalize on it, and change the fitness industry. I am looking forward to your future and feedback.

The real deal!
Something about this app has me not only able to use it consistently because of how easy it is, but also want to use it consistently! I’ve tried so many, paid so much in subscriptions to try them out. And this one is definitely worth it. There are some things I would change (the ability to add different pieces of equipment I have that are typically only available at the gym) and maybe some different types of exercises. All in all, I’m pleased. I feel stronger and I want to workout which is a huge change for me, as someone who’s needed something to keep me wanting to come back. The circuits are awesome. Makes me feel like I’ve actually accomplished something!

A decent resource for going to the gym!
Zing matches your skill level and as someone just coming back to the gym I would reccomend it UPDATE: after a week of using this app I have had several issues modifying the workouts and have found some of the customizable settings (such as the muscle group slider that allows you to set when your muscles need to recover) to be useless. Even when I set muscle groups down to “0%” it still gives me workouts for those muscle groups. Even when I try to get it to generate a “custom workout” it still gives me workouts for muscle groups that are STILL sore. I reached out to support 2 times and got no response. But they found the time to respond to this review….

Cool features, not part of the plan
I really didn’t like this app. I paid for a 16 week plan that claimed it would use an AI coach to create workouts tailored to me. What I found was that the plan was extremely generic and did not incorporate any of the feedback I had given the coach, did not give any guidance toward meeting the goals I set out, and did mot align with the time constraints I set. It had a lot of ‘cool’ features, like the fitness test and body scan, but none of the resulting information is integrated into the workout plan. Also, if you do an introductory plan, like I did, you have to delete the subscription from the app itself. I unsubscribed via my apple account as soon as I realized the app wasn’t what was marketed. But I was charged for an additional 3 months anyway. So now I unsubscribed in the Zing settings, so hopefully I won’t be charged an outrageous rate for a unusable workout plan again. Really disappointed on all fronts.

Deceptive Pricing and Unauthorized Subscription Charges
My experience with the Zing Workout App has been a big let down by deceptive pricing, unauthorized charges, and impractical gym-based workouts. Initially enticed by a seemingly reasonable $16 one-time trial fee, I later discovered an unexpected $40 charge for a subscription that I never agreed to. The app's lack of transparency in transitioning from a trial to a subscription model is concerning, resulting in an unpleasant financial surprise. Furthermore, the gym-based workouts provided were not only impractical but also disrupted the gym experience. The app directed users to navigate between exercises in a way that wasn't conducive to a busy gym setting, causing inconvenience and frustration. I strongly caution others against using the Zing Workout App, as it not only lacks clarity in pricing but also imposes unauthorized charges without user consent. The impracticality of the gym workouts further adds to the overall dissatisfaction with the app.

App Needs Work
I really enjoyed using the app in the first few weeks. There’s just a few things that could use adjusting. The music is limited to one app. I have to play it in the background. If you open up any app it automatically pauses your time. Sometimes I need to change the song while I’m working out and don’t want it to pause. It doesn’t allow you to skip the “get ready” time lapse before the exercises. I don’t need that much of a break sometimes. They give you 35+ sec to switch arms on single arm curls. I only need like 2 secs for that. The app is a little glitchy too. I typed in a routine to work my back, but it planned out a whole body workout. There was only one back exercise in that whole routine. With those frustrating features, I’m out. Thank you for the workout ideas tho!

Pretty Good, but…
I really like the app and how it builds the workouts for me. Coming from Fitbod, this is important to me. However my small critiques are the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars. I feel like the database of equipment isn’t near as extensive to Fitbod, and my biggest complaint would be not being able to edit an exercise once you’ve started it. If I'm trying out an exercise and don’t like it, I can replace or change it to a different one. Similarly, if I can’t make a fourth set, it will not let me remove it. I feel like I’m committed to the exercise once I start it. (I know that’s not always a bad thing, but sometimes I do need to cut an exercise short.) If these changes can be implemented, I would hands down give this 5 stars!

Easy to use - exercise library needs more
Very intelligent and makes my workout routines and the gym much more efficient when I don’t have to constantly think about what my program is for the day. The user interface is very clean and easy to use. The only constructive criticism I have relates to the exercise library. it would be great if this app had more alternatives for certain exercises. The library of exercises seems to be pretty limited. For example, dumbbell Romanian deadlifts cannot be replaced with Romanian deadlifts. This restricts the user when they may not have dumbbells that go up to a certain weight. You can load more weight on a barbell, but the user would not be able to record this alternative on the app.

Ideas for improvement
I really like the app overall, but I think it could definitely be better. I think there should be more options for user input. The schedule cant be changed for an update life schedule. As well as there should be options for more training styles and cardio options should be included. I really live zing but I wish it would allow me to train for my races. I'm training for a half marathon in April and I wish that I could either pair it with a running app so they work together or strictly work within the same app so that my strength training pairs with my running plan. I wish there was like a chat board you could talk to the so called ai system to provide input and feedback as well.

Bug Report
I’ll start with the positives - the workouts are great, I can definitely feel it the next morning. I actually had my first workout yesterday and my second today. This app needs a tutorial so that we know how to adjust weights/reps without discovering it accidentally on your very last rep of the entire workout. I was looking things over and found a way to look at my schedule for the week. Yesterday was upper body, today was SUPPOSED to be lower body. I knew what I was supposed to do, what equipment I needed and after getting set up and starting the workout, it had changed to upper body. The same muscle groups as yesterday. Why did it change? Is there a way to change it back?

More injury options
I’m really enjoying the app right now and love the home and gym workouts. There are a few things missing like the voice for gym workouts and Apple Watch sync. However I can get over these hiccups because I am enjoying the workouts. The most significant issue for me is that there isn’t more detailed options in the injury restriction. Currently I have a strained hamstring that I am recovering from. Modifying all the workouts is tedious and can’t always be done in app. The other injury actions such as knee and back don’t are closer(ish) but still have a lot of hamstring activation. It’s important to treat injuries carefully and as much as I enjoy the app it can definitely improve with more detailed injury options.

I was excited!!! Until I used the app
I have tried a lot of fitness apps. What attracted me to Zing is that it builds workouts for me, and has tutorials. The number of different apps I have tried are not as user-friendly. However, the app really advertises itself as an AI trainer. Well I understand that the artificial intelligence has to learn, and projected that I should lose 50 pounds. This is incredibly unhealthy, and just like every other app that just takes old practices into consideration. In addition, it does not allow you to customize what target weight you want to get to, which in my eye would be amazing for AI to tailor a plan to you based on that. In addition, I tried to reach out to support and ran into a server error, which was also disappointing to see. Still giving the app a try, but figured I would leave the review for

Disappointed
This app has an interesting value proposition, but the product is disappointing. I have three major issues with it: - Body scan: I’ve tested it’s repeatability and got different results on a same day. It eventually started agreeing but with some uncertainty. Not the worst part. - Progress tracking: it is very limited, you can’t track your progress by exercise, which was one the main features I was looking for in a coaching app. I’d like to be able to generate plots for reps and weights by exercise, but unfortunately you can only see a generic strength score by muscle. - Customization: not at all flexible. While you are able to choose and replace exercises, you can’t delete sets, nor delete or skip an exercise. The “custom” workout option will force you to log a fixed number of exercises. If you skip one or log an arbitrary rep+weight combo just to skim through, the data will be fed into the model and skew it. The customer service was very responsive when I reached out, and I appreciate that, but I will not renew my subscription unless I have better access to my data, am able to track progress based on my metrics of interest, and to be able to truly customize my workout.
