Zangle worked just fine with one exception. The teachers do not do their part to update it daily. I have five students in the ASD. Half of their teachers update assignments daily or every few days, one fourth of their teachers update assignments once or twice a month, and the remaining one fourth do not update at all. A little consistency would help before the district spends more money on apps. Our State is broke! Stop spending money on things that won’t make a true difference.
I am a student, and I have to say this app is only useful when emails come through about events. Otherwise it is awful for keeping track of assignments. I had a missing assignment from when I was sick, and it took about eight days for it to get updated into the system. I don’t know if that’s the teacher being busy grading other assignments, or this app. But either way, it’s super slow. Another thing: this app repeatedly logs me out. I find it highly inconvenient. Especially when it tells me my “email,” and password are wrong and refuses to let me log in. I have to delete and re-download this app quite often, and I would greatly appreciate it, if it kept me logged in for more than a day. -Thanks.
They obviously put a lot of work into this app. Very user friendly, easy to customize what and who you want updates about & from. Can see kids’ assignments, grades, school lunch info, account balances quickly. Can set to receive updates from specific schools & organizations. I’m impressed. Much easier than using the parent connect website!
I get kicked off randomly about once every two months being told my password is invalid, even though it’s not changed and the main web site it still works. So I have to reset it often. Also, randomly my children will be missing from the profile. I have to sign out and sign back in or delete the app and reinstall.
As a student this app is efficient and convenient for when I need to check my grades. I don’t have to go to a web browser and search up Student Connect and log in. I can just open the app and I’m already logged in.
Zangle has always been nice but this app goes into more detail such as exact balance on the food account. Easy to navigate and get the information needed right away. Great job Anchorage school district!
As a student, this is a great app. It’s easier than the website. Easy to access grades and info about my school and the district. One thing I want is the update for the iPhone X screen. Thanks!
Can’t provide real time data if data is not entered in real time. Teachers simply can’t keep it up to date. It’s good for school news & that’s it. Total waste of money that could have been spent in the classroom instead. I gave it 1 star because it wouldn’t allow a zero star rating.
The app randomly logs users out and needs to be reinstalled in order to log back in. There’s a lot of great information available, but it needs to be more stable.
Keeps logging me out and takes forever to re-enter all my info and have access again. I have an iPhone 6s. I’m very frustrated. Right now I have to start all over with telling it what language I prefer and which schools I follow!!! I’ve had it installed since last spring and keep it updated.
It’s easier to navigate and less clunky than navigating Zangle Parent Connect through iPhone Safari. May I suggest adding GPA and Transcript menus like the ones in Zangle.
The app logged me out and I’ve spent months trying to get back on. I’ve reinstalled the app and have reset my password multiple times, but I still can’t get in. I can log in just fine on my computer so I know this is an issue with the app.
I’m a student It’s easy to use but doesn’t get updated enough I had 2 missing assignments and I got them all turned it but for about 5 days it has still said missing. It just needs to be updated more often
Since installation of the app I find myself struggling with insomnia, hallucinations, and severe depression my therapist prescribed the strongest legal medication and no avail. I would not recommend downloading the application if wanting to remain healthy and sane.
As a parent of ASD students, I can’t wait for them to graduate out of this dysfunctional education system. After ten plus years of witnessing multiple cases of crimes committed against children that the ASD covers up to suppress data and avoid the PR fallout and subsequent lawsuits that would come to light against the school district. Instead of honest transparency ASD actively suppresses information from parents as to what is really going on within the schools. Violent assaults, robberies and other various crimes are now present within the school district and are purposely being kept from the parents. Principles at two separate schools from my own experience have lied in official statements to police while doing crime prevention investigations to protect their own careers at the expense of children. These are blatant attempts to sway or manipulate investigations by making false statements to law enforcement officers. Combine these facts with the budget shortfall on top of embarrassing low national scores, ASD is not just a joke it’s a disgrace at the administrative level. From the principles office on up to the head shed on the East side of town expect nothing but lies , deception and the run around by ASD administrators. The new boss isn’t going to change anything unless he changes and cleans up the entire corrupted culture at ASD admin. Good luck trying to get one of them to respond through email in writing. They rather talk in the office where there’s no record of content. The chances of getting a straight answer when they play damage control is slim to none. As for the teachers, from our experience a vast majority of the teachers including immersion are amazing as I commend you for a job well done despite not having adequate management or leadership within the district. Seems to be an Alaskan staple of inadequate management lacking leadership. Parents need to unite to litigate a class action lawsuit against ASD to hold them accountable for the crimes against our children that they're covering up for the very reason to not be held accountable. Principles protecting pensions will go to great lengths to protect them including covering up crimes against children. Do not believe ASD initial assessment or statements on anything. Parents need to do their own due diligence on asking the right questions at the right time in writing !!!! The Scott Thompson ticket needs to be investigated further for covering up these crimes against children. Three more years. I’m sure by then ASD will be even farther below budget due to in part outrageous administrative salaries that aren’t performance based or warranted. ASD administrators are an extremely poor return on investment and they should be subsequently replaced by competent personnel that put the children first as in safety as well as education and not focused on protecting your pensions.
Can you please add a button that shows the school year calendar? Just like the paper copies or the screen you get when you click on “2019-20 school year calendar (print version)”. This is very helpful to parents to see in-service days, breaks.... Please please and thank you!!
