Arrive Canada app
I arrived at the Canadian border in Vermont today with all required paperwork. I had filled out the App and submitted it. I was unaware that it did not go through completely and as a result did not have an activation number. Because of no Wi-Fi at border (which makes no sense to me), I had to return to the US, find a place with WI-Fi, hit the submit button again which took all of two seconds, return through Customs again with my activation number. Very frustrating and upsetting. If it had been made clear to me when I submitted the app that I should make sure I had a confirmation number, I would have known I wasn’t done and it would have saved a lot of time today. I am in Canada for my Mom’s funeral and was anxious to get to my destination.

Poor user experience & synching to border agents
This app is supposed to make travel to Canada easier it is a fairly laborious process to fill it out and it doesn’t link well with the border agents. What would make this app better, especially for repeat travelers back to Canada, is to remember some of the basic information about the traveler. The app forces you to manually input information about your identity, vaccination status, and testing every time you return. Although some of these things of course will change over time some of the basic information stays static to the profile of the traveler. My advice is to take the time ahead of your travel to ensure that you have the app precisely completed. The second major issue with the app is the connection with the border agent. We are repeat travelers back to Canada and at the border each time the border agent has given us the permission not to quarantine - double vaccinated and had negative tests. This however was not reflected in the app nor our communications back to the government of Canada. Daily we would receive notifications from the app about needing to quarantine in place even though we were permitted to travel per the discussion with the border agent. This caused us quite a high degree of anxiety not knowing which was right. Again, my advice to all those who are using the app is to ensure that you have clear guidance from your border agent so that you do not have to worry about what the app says.

ArriveCAN form painful and slow
Spent several days trying to fill out the ArriveCan form online without the app. Could not login; said the password was incorrect. I requested it to reset the password and gave it my email, but the process locked up at that point; never able to get an email or reset my password. Finally I found out there is an ArriveCan app and I downloaded that. No it would not let me enter in my true embarkation date, because I’m already on the ship and it won’t let me back up beyond today’s date. It also would not let me use or upload a previously scanned copy of my passport; I had to take a new picture online. When filling out my COVID-19 vaccination information, when I went to fill out the second date of vaccination; it would have been nice it’s a calendar reverted back to the date of the first vaccination, because the second vaccination supposed to happen within 30 days at the first. But again it reverted back today’s date, and I had to flip through the months to get back to last year‘s vaccination date. But I will say that I was able to get my information entered through the app; whereas I could not do it online.

I WAS ok using this app until…
I had no issues with using this app until recently. My husband and I cross the border on a weekly basis, never had issues using the app but I do occasionally panic and forget to do it and do it in seconds before we’re crossing the border. It’s pretty fast to fill out. With that said I don’t wanna believe they’re tracking you but I believe they are. We crossed recently and went to Bellevue Washington for the day in our Tesla, when we were crossing back around 1 AM the border guard asked us if we were at a casino. There is a supercharger there and that’s the one we always use. It’s such a random question but I saw him studying the screen. I should mention we are Nexus and usually cross through really quickly. He was also studying the screen for most people ahead of us which I’ve never seen them do it that way. Asking us if we were at a casino is such a random question. Usually I have my data turned off, on that day I used my data. it’s very suspicious. Anyone else have this issue?

Of questionable use
We used ArriveCan twice over a three week period, to enter at a land crossing to get to the Montreal airport to fly to France, then when coming back from France to cross back via the same land crossing into the US the same day. No provision whatsoever for this type of entering/exiting Canada… At least not one that is obvious. Had to call to find out what we should do, as the app doesn’t accept US addresses as a “destination.” Had to enter the airport’s address. On top of that, at both the land crossing into Quebec and arrival in Montreal by air from France, it was never checked. So a lot of hassle to use, and if the authorities never check upon arrival that you filled it out/used it, what’s the point? All throughout Europe, and to enter the US, nothing was as much of a hassle as entering Canada and using this app. Won’t be traveling to Canada again until they drop this nonsense (as well as the stupid random testing requirement that you receive AFTER you have already left Canada and have to clear to stop them from sending the Mounties after you…).

Needs clearer instructions
The app is easy to download. It asks for time of arrival. I had to rstmate the arrival. Because we are driving in it depends on the traffic, how long it takes to get lunch before we arrive at the destination, if we leave on time, etc. It took a long time to find out where we were entering the country. It might be easier if you are familiar with all of the options, but I was not. I could not figure out how to do the scan of my passport. I could scan it on my own scanner but that was not an option. So I had to enter the information manually. I understood that I could not enter the information until 72 hours before entering Canada. However, it did not tell me that it Hass to be 24 hours based on the TIME of entering. I tried to enter the information that morning, but could not enter information such as the time. It was very frustrating. I think clear instructions would have been helpful. There are three of us (we are friends) coming in the same vehicle but we do not live together so each of us filled out our own information. This also caused confusion as to how to accurately enter information. I am looking forward to my time in Canada and hope that getting through customs will be quicker because of the app. Thank you for the opportunity to complete some of the information ahead of our arrival.

Seriously Unnecessary & Confusing
First and foremost I’d like to say we all waited for 2 years for the border to open up. But how can you cross now? I have your answer. A complicated app that requires to capture your passport, drivers license and COVID results but in reality you don’t 🤣 *BOTH American and Canadian border websites must act updated 24/7 on how you need requirements to cross the border. My boyfriend and I ALWAYS check both websites and we’ve never seen anybody update it until “August 21” the big opening to cross. Little did I know, I had all my information by hand and I was immediately refused by Canadian officers because I did not have proof that I needed a NEGATIVE PCR test. This was the day after they had opened the border. Everything had to be electronically documented on the Arrive Canada App and again I didn’t know since their website was not updated. I was frustrated waiting to be sent back to America along with other people waiting in their cars. Also, I had a bad experience with officers from BOTH sides. That was not my day…

Absurd Requirements!
We will be in Vancouver for 3 hours to board a ship which will depart, test us daily, and will not re-enter Canada. There are multiple layers of procedures to go through before riding the shuttle to the ship. We have had total vaccinations and 2 boosters, and had a monitored Covid test 72 hours before arriving. We are forced to register with app from cruise line, forced to register with app from airline, forced to register with ArriveCanada. We are then subject to random test on arrival, for which we are forced to pre-register, and then pre-register for the testing facility which might have to administer the random test. We will have to walk to the Covid testing facility while carrying our luggage and handicap sticker. If we are lucky enough to board the ship before it disembarks, we will be in international waters several days before the test results are known. The cruise ship will not re-enter Canada and quite frankly, we do not plan on entering Canada again either. I cannot recommend travel to Canada until this is simplified. Dr. Straube

Nice app… until we got the Canadian boot
We planned to visit Canada. We are U.S. citizens and planned to bring our 13 year old daughter. My wife found that our child would not need a passport and asked me to verify it which I did. (The U.S. State Dept. website said/says she can travel with proof of citizenship, also not true. Be careful which authority you trust in this kind of thing!) When we got to the airport, we were surprised to learn from the airline that we could not board our daughter without a passport… nasty surprise! We had to emergency reroute our vacation to Colorado and are potentially out hundreds or thousands of dollars in Canadian airfare and boarding. If a passport was required, why did ArriveCAN allow us to upload a birth certificate for our daughter if the authorities would only accept a passport?!? According to the app, she was pre-cleared to enter Canada. This is a ridiculous oversight, in my opinion. If it weren’t for that, I would give the app a 4 or 5 star review.

Form is good, content is bad
Intuitive app, simple to use. But you get bad/incomplete information, you have to start over several times to finally get through. For example, you check “passport” as the ID document, you will get a rejection at the very end, but if you select Green Card, then you’re fine. Would be nice to know in advance… You don’t know if you’re supposed to add a 9-month-old baby as a traveler. When you select a date, you can only select the year and month, and then you have to click on the date again to enter the day. When they ask you where you’re going to stay, you don’t have the option to say “nowhere” if you’re doing a one-day round-trip. Edge cases are not accounted for. Last thing, it may be just a preference but I don’t like that when you select something it automatically and instantly goes to the next page, I’d like to check what I have filled and click “next” myself.

Rude customer service
As an American citizen arriving in Canada and returning immediately home to the US on arrival, I was unable to provide a Canadian address which stopped me from being able to adequately fill out the form. When I called customer service for help and guidance with this issue, a man named Fateh continued to read me a generic statement that did not answer my question and then suggested I “come up with an address close to where I was staying” (not sure how since my address isn’t even in Canada). He would not give me an opportunity to explain my question further and was extremely condescending. When it became clear I was not going to receive a clear answer, I requested to speak to a manager, to which he responded by cutting me off and giving me a “warning” as if I were a small child. This form is very difficult to fill out if you are arriving in Canada with no intention of staying in the country, and to make matters worse, the customer service agents are not only rude, but downright unhelpful.

Excited! Perhaps allow U.S. visitors to enter info early?
We are literally crying with joy to be able to come to Canada and see our beloved cottage in beautiful Ontario after so long! With this app would it be possible (with any coming updates) to allow us to photograph or otherwise enter our CDC vaccination information in advance of our coming to your country next month — for any processing you guys do upfront? Right now info entry is only a few days in advance of arrival as you know. Also: Do you anticipate integration of the Nexus system with this and the scanning or submission of testing results — to make the border crossings smooth and perhaps less prone to traffic jams? So many Qs! So much happiness! Thank you Canada for having us at last!

Doesn’t recognize names nor dates
I tried all possible border crossing names but none was accepted. There is no list to chose from. If you want to use the app AFTER arrival, you are out of luck, as it only recognizes dates in the future, not in the past. For me, the app was a complete non-starter. But it gets worse: at my second attempt BEFORE arrival, using the “forget password” option produces a popup that blocks the text field, so you are stuck. Sorry, not working. For an “essential” app to cross the border it’s a major nightmare. PS: Getting far worse: after choosing a strong automatic password on my iPhone, the automatic fill in first replaces my email address with the confirmation number and then doesn’t find my password because it looks for some Canadian website. The last problem may be an iOS problem but I am sure the app developers could have avoided that - like all the other app developers who managed to do so. Sorry guys: one of the worst apps I used in along time.

ArriveCan Application:
I am one that does not enjoy filling out governmental forms on a website as there is usually some type of wall that I usually run into. Fortunately it was straight forward and went fairly well. Last August when the Canadian border was first opened we made a trip to Ontario. The successful result with ArriveCan was the same as now. Back then we had to have a molecular/PCR test within 72 hours of crossing the border. Since a blood sample had to be sent away there was a mild concern it would not be back in time. That concern combined with the hassle of having to get a physician’s order and have blood drawn made it considerably easier than in August 2021. Bill from Sac City, IA

Arrive app
It isn’t too difficult and is common sense. There is one small glitch I found. When uploading a photo of the vaccination card it would not advance. I have ALL my info on ONE card, and it’s all on ONE side. I had to put the SAME photo in the second picture slot to make it finally go on to the next step. So if you are stuck, just put the same picture in the second spot like I did and it will finish up. Someone needs to fix that so it accepts just a single photo and not force you to add a second if it isn’t needed like me. Or, put a note below the uploader that you must use both photo squares to make it work? Example: “You must fill both the photo squares. If your vaccination card has all info on one side, submit the photo twice.” Thanks

ArriveCAN
Far too difficult for a 71 year old to first understand the 72 hour time limit when we have to be at the airport 3 hours ahead and we board the plane at least 20-30 minutes ahead. So when it says 72 hours ahead of boarding plane or scheduled departure time you are really not saying 72 hours ahead. I had to go in over and over again to be able to register. Very frustrating and no I will not be coming to Canada again. Trying to register on an iPhone is difficult but had to use it so we could download app. Some of the areas during registration were hard to get to because they would be covered up by some “message”. And I wasn't sure what you were asking. Ex: near the end it mentioned having to do something in Canada in one area but wanted me to fill in the United States of America as my place of originating or citizenship although I did not understand what your application wanted. I tried 3 or 4 times until I understood that. This was a very frustrating process. Also you wanted covid tests to be within 72 hours which puts it very close to departure time and date. Especially since you wanted the results before boarding time. Did I mention I have been frustrated for 3 days trying to “jump through hoops?” I pray Canada will not disappoint on our first vacation out of the country in several years and first land tour in Canada.

Glitchy App
This App must’ve been put together quickly and without much thought. This App does NOT save your information as you progress through it not does it work well on an Apple 8plus phone. Trying to call Technical Support for assistance was a 2 hour deal with surprise from who picked up on the other end worrying more about HOW I got the number! I submitted everything requested and got to the last step to submit and was sent a message saying I had to connect to the Internet (which I already was per going through the App steps) and couldn’t finish the whole process. This Application and the programmers are severely lacking and quality control needs to happen. This is a terrible App to try and use. Apparently, it’s needed to be used on a newer device (ergo why I got it done on my BF’s new phone). And seriously, if you believe in a fully vaccinated Canadian trying to get to Canada - WHY require such strict rules for crossing? This App is out of whack.

Very good app, but Save&Close backs you up
This is a very good app, but most people are going to be getting only part way through before they are ready for the receipt. It would be improved if people were asked for their quarantine plan first, before being asked for their negative test result. Instead, you have to wait to get your negative test result for your entire party before handling the quarantine plan. Also, when you Save&Close, the checkpoint created backs you up to much. The next time you start the app you will have to back up and re-answer the same questions. The app could also be improved if - like uploading the vaccination images - you could also upload the negative COVID test results, either as a pdf or an image.

ArriveCAN
1.) The prompts are very confusing. 2.) The “Save and Close” feature takes you completely out of the program, which means you have no way to verify anything is being saved until you reach the final screen. 3.) The wording of many questions is awkward and ambiguous. You are expected to be completely transparent (good thing). But the wording of many questions causes you to struggle with your answer. 4.) The disclosure appears to provide the Canadian government virtually unlimited access to do what it wants with my phone. I thought the sole purpose was quarantine compliance in Canada. 5.) I filled out the ArriveCAN registration 4 days before I am scheduled to cross the border. Am I being tracked right now by Canadian authorities even though I am still in the US? That should not be the case, but how do you know?

Very easy to complete and submit. I love it this App
After 2 and half year of not traveling, I decide to go to Niagara Falls. ArriveCAN helps me to enter all necessary information to avoid being delayed at the border. The developers are genius. It is easy to uploaded the proof of VAC and the passport info. Even it gave you slot to enter the hotel to stay. Only one hotel you can enter at the time invade you want to switch hotel with your stay in Canada, probably you need to update your info. Maybe the developers should add more hotels slots to be able to enter more hotels where one wants to stay. Thanks for the App. I recommend everyone to use it. Makes traveling easy.

Improvement request
Filling in the app was easy and allowed several spots to “save and close”. Getting back in and continuing was easy also. The singular improvement needed is to have the ability to identify “only driving through Canada w/o stopping or staying”. Here’s the problem, driving from Michigan to NY through Canada (3hrs trip) the app forces you to provide a location you are staying in Canada. To fill out a location as advised by the helpline is a lie and you could risk prosecution for making false statements. As a fully Vaxed individual I would be exempted from having to provide a location even if I were to stay in Canada. It might make sense to put an option for people “driving through” or “fully Vaxed” to be exempt from this confusion for additional info in the app.

Intrusive Laborious and largely Unnecessary
No doubt it is deeply satisfying to the bureaucratic mind to send travellers scurrying to find out information not readily available - like what terminal their flight is arriving in (who knows that? And where do you find out? Next you will be asking for the name of the pilot!) - as well as information they have no right to (like the address at which a Canadian citizen is staying at after arrival) but the level of detail required here is not only laborious (I can’t imagine how persons of lower education levels, or unused to computers and cell phones could manage) but also intrusive - more typical of a surveillance state than a democracy. I will concede that it does not seem to have the glitches that had friends of mine practically in tears on prior journeys home to Canada.

Well developed + intuitive design
Really appreciate the user experience flow and design of this app. Works smoothly with features for saving your process as you go and for multiple reviews of your info before submit. Attractive interface. I recommend a little more instruction around the “Add traveler” feature, as it was a bit confusing for two adults traveling together—should we both add each other? Should we have the information only on one device with the second person as an additional traveler? We ended up calling the border crossing (a challenge in itself!) before arrival for advice.

Doens’t update
I have had to use this app since the beginning of the pandemic, and it continues to ask questions that are no longer relevant. Then when i answer honestly, I have incessant calls from immigration asking me why I am not quarantining, even though i am fully vaccinated, and boosted, and a Canadian Citizen living abroad. Also, no one asked me to see my receipt from it last time i went home, but i still got calls from Covid Canada. When i finally spoke to someone in person to explain to them that i am fully vaccinated and boosted (and that information is uploaded into the app) she said i have an old version of the app and have to download a new one. Very truly a waste of a lot of time. I understand and appreciate the need to be safe, but there is very little to no consistency on how this app is being used, and yet it is still required to enter the country.

App Review
I find it’s this App not to userIssue friendly. From a Government user point of view, it makes sense. From a user point of view, it doesn’t 🤨. There are so many entry points into Canada 🚗🛻🚌🇨🇦. The problem is that the entry points are listed in Canadian Cities. I am crossing from the USA 🇺🇸. Shouldn’t it post; Surrey/ Blaine. PAC HWY has 2 entry points in the same town. Upon trying to find my entry point, I need to find the name of the Canadian side city in order to fill out the Canadian entry form📑. It takes a lot of time & research. 😠 Why do you need to manually enter the date of your COVD Immunizations & photograph your card too. It’s on the COVD Immunization card. The app is only set for an extended stay. 1 day visits are not an option. The App only excepts a designated place to stay if I get exposed to COVD. My advice is too re develop the App. 🤔

Refreshingly clear online form
Nowadays, entering travel information into online documents for an airline can be a nightmare. Fill in one set of data after another, only to get to the end to receive the most feared message, “Sorry, cannot complete your submission. Try again later.” You try and try, and having wasted half an hour of your time, you finally call an agent, who tells you that you’ll have to submit that information in person at the airport. That’s not my experience with this online registration, which was clear and quick. What a relief!

ArriveCAN AWESOME
I am a landed immigrant, having lived in Canada many years. The thoroughness and safety-mindedness of the Canadian people and government has awed me since first entering Canada in 1977. This country is exemplary in its commitment to safety for its citizens and has always been an inspiration to me through the many years I have lived here. God bless Canadian integrity and commitment to it people. “God keep our land glorious and free”! Canada never ceases to impress me! And now, with ArriveCAN monitoring the Covid 19 status of all entrants to Canada, we can feel safe in the knowledge that the virus is being controlled in a very effective and efficient process. BRAVO, ArriveCAN!

12 and under proof of vaccination - can’t enter
My eleven year old is fully vaccinated, but the app will not give me an option to upload the document or even ask me about it. It just assumes “no”. When I called the “help” number they told me to create an entirely new account with a different email or try to do it on my desk top. So create an account for a minor with an extra email I don’t have? Also, doing it on the desktop, did not work. When I asked if I can just show the border officer the documents and still get into Canada, the response was….”it depends on the border officer!” I can’t tell you how frustrating this is! I am happy to follow all rules and get all documents together, but we his process has many flaws! I’m going to drive 7 hours to drive the border and I may or may not be granted entry. I’m Canadian with my American children.

Need update for current regs
Unfortunately this app does not accommodate the most recent requirements for vaccinated US citizens to enter Canada. As requirements updated this week, vaccination documents must be entered 2 weeks prior to arrival at the border. This app version only allows info entry 3 days prior to entry into Canada. Look forward to getting back to our cabin and hope this roadblock will be cleared soon. UPDATE: I appreciate the quick developer response. My error was in understanding data submission deadlines. Thats what I get for getting info from the media and not official sources. Will update my review again when I finally get to use Arrive CAN, 72 hours prior to the border arrival.

Invasion of personal freedoms and information
Part of a dictatorship to control high tax paying citizens rights to freedom. It’s no ones business if we choose to go on day trips or visit the US for extended periods. This is a complete invasion of privacy and all 3 of us are seriously against being treated like communists. Hundreds of thousands of immigrants fly into Canada without vaccines and given more rights and privileges than the Canadian citizens who live here and pay your salaries with extortionist taxes. We can no longer afford to live here and real citizens are forced to live on the streets and pay the highest rents in the world if they are able to pay for a place to live. Trudeau is nothing more than a dictator and has destroyed what once was a great country. ArriveCAN is nothing more than a tracking program for the government. There’s my review!!!!

Confusing…
I don’t know what “ArriveCAN” app the government has, but they continually ask me to go on the app and report if I have symptoms. There’s no where on the app to do that… ??? … it only allows you to pick an arrival date and that’s it. No daily reporting or anything of the sort. This is extremely confusing… UPDATE: developers are good at feedback I’m impressed. However, it was stated that the app sends you a notification every day at 10am. I’ve quarantined 4 times due to work travel, and not once have I received a notification to report symptoms. Note that I *DO* have notifications completely on (banners, Home Screen, persistent, etc) and do not get these notifications. Would be glad to work with developers to sort it out because I’m sure I’m not the only one.

A bit confusing
My travel situation was passing through Canada to get to the Northwest Angle so likely less than an hour passage each way. The lodge is in the US and has a Minnesota address. After struggling to understand how to do this in the ArriveCAN app I found that the lodge circumvents this with a Manitoba address. This would seem counterintuitive to most. Also, I’m traveling with a buddy who filled out his independently so wasn’t sure if I had to identify him as someone I’m traveling with in the app. Some “information” links to clarify would be beneficial. Last thing I desire is that using the app causes a delay for the crossing because it doesn’t provide adequate information/instruction.

Is this App even necessary ?
This app could have been made easier and faster if needed at all..You have to specific the type of COVID vaccination and dates for each shot, then when you are done with it you download your shot info either through scanning you hard copy card or a vaccination document you have stored on your phone . Do not know why you had to enter shot info individually, if you are downloading the info. Seems a little redundant. The departing country menu bar is not in alphabetical order, you can spend 5 minutes looking for your country. After filling all this information in. I was told I would need it to get through immigration . Guess what- I was never asked for it!!! This is a pretty useless app. Maybe Canada needs to rethink its purpose.

Excellent App and easy to use
It makes getting through customs a little easier. Lines are still long because everyone is now traveling. If you travel a lot, it stores you past travel info which makes it a breeze to fill out when you visit next. Negative comments are silly. If you are driving, estimate your arrival time OR submit Arrive can when you get closer to the border. If you are unvaccinated, you are not being discriminated. It was your choice not to be vaccinated. It has nothing to do with this App.

I have to give a good review for this particular app for people who is going to enter Canada as a transportation driver. It’s very user friendly and easy as long as you established a profile. Thank you. It makes my job much easier. But one thing is not clear to me is; If I have to drive my own transportation (car) to enter Canada for company’s business . Do I still have to go through all the regular procedures? Do I have go get another testing within 82 hours? Even though I across the board every other day by driving company’s truck.

So rigid
There is no way for me to properly register my trip on this app. I’m a Canadian citizen living in Washington who needs to drive to Vancouver to pick up my Daughter from college to come home to WA for the summer. I am not staying over night. There is no category in this app for me to properly fill out this info. So now I will probably have an issue at the border, which is very stressful because my daughter really needs to come home. We haven’t seen her in 5 months and she needs to get a covid vaccine which she can’t get in Vancouver but can get here in WA very easily.

Nice app!
The app is aesthetically pleasing, and I appreciate the government’s attempt to quickly roll out the app (I suppose part of the reason was to minimize people looking for paper forms and lining up to fill them?). The development team does a very good job of responding to questions and updating the app as necessary. The app has certainly come a long way since its launch. I do have one suggestion. It could help grouping land border crossings per province (or include their province for the search feature) as not all the border crossing names are known by the nonlocals. This can save a visit to Google Maps!

I've used this app from the beginning (aka when the border was still closed); it is frustrating to have an account (website) and each and every time I update the app, I've got to start over! I've got to upload my travel documents, my vaccines and images and then once I get past all of that, the app miraculously finds my information and the others that have travelled with me in the past. Frustrating! Why can't the update not start from zero? Why can't the update remember the date of my previous vaccine and start from there? Why's it go from today? I've been using this app for over 2 years next month and it hasn't improved from an end user/ design thinking prospective. It is cumbersome, not intuitive and not made for Americans. I still have USA friends who will not cross the border because they have to use this app. I started to rate it a 2 but decided that because it at least remembered my previous travellers, I'd give it a 3.

Needs user error messages
This is a nice app, and pretty much required to get into Canada, but the inputs can be picky and when it won’t store/save info, there is no indication of WHY. Entering my vaccination images, it would not accept them - changed orientation, tried closer/further away, etc- no go. Googling found a 2 Meg limit in the image size. I was going to a hotel in Canada. Entering my destination address was ok, but wanted an apartment/room number - digits only no explanatory text. Some feedback on bad data entries would be very useful, perhaps with explanations of the input requirements.

First time user
I knew nothing about this as I live in the US. My brother in Canada told me about it. It makes so much sense as it makes it easier for the traveler to fill out info at home rather than at an airport. Also the immigration and airline people must like it as things should go smoother. Why can’t someone with the airlines promote this in the US. Let’s keep the cattle moving. If the guy or gal in front of me has this filled out if will keep me moving on. Good for all. And the airline companies may not be blaimed for the delays.

United States more likely than United Arab Emirates
So when picking from pull down menus after you’ve indicated that you’re driving into Canada, at the Peace Bridge, why on earth wouldn’t an app designer populate all lists with United States as first choice instead of forcing the user to type in the entire word United and the letter S? I’d assume that United States would be the most likely response under such circumstances? Much less likely that someone is from the United Arab Emirates or the United Kingdom. United States Minor Islands before United States? Really? May want to reconsider. Otherwise it’s a really easy app to use. Nicely done.

One screen can’t hit a button
The app is easy to use except for one screen when the ask if you have traveled to any other countries besides the United States. The buttons No and Yes are below the save button. I tried to slide it up and quickly hit no. It took me a super long time and a quick finger to hit that button. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall, turn it horizontally and a bunch of other “tricks” nothing works! If you could please fix that it would be great! The same issue is with a few more people we know so I know it’s not just my phone.

Good App; a Few Unanswered Questions
I mostly liked the app. My complaints are: (a) it is very easy to accidentally abandon your application and be forced back to ground zero; (b) the app needs to be tweaked for the August 9th rule change. For US citizens/permanent residents who are arriving by car, you have the right to withdraw your application for admission in lieu of quarantine, but the app requires you to create a quarantine plan to complete it. While we have all submitted dummy data to get through a form, it is a different thing when it is a customs’ form.

Stop Harassment
Hopefully the arrive Canada app Will lessen all of the harassment that people have to go through to enter Canada,Including Canadian citizens. There is a limit to what people should have to go through because of COVID-19. For example, you don’t kill a mosquito with a sledgehammer. Three years of Covid and I have never been to a Covid funeral, nor do I know anyone else that has gone to a Covid funeral. Something is big-time wrong with the COVID-19 information we receive daily. It is extremely questionable, in the highest degree of the word.

App should require you to enter date of your test
We arrived to find out our test was 24 hours too old. We were sent back. If the app had required us to enter the date PCR test TAKEN it would have saved them and us a lot of trouble. I grant it was our bad math but we couldn't find a PCR test in MA and had to do mail in and wait for results. So we mistakenly took our test one day too soon. Otherwise the app works better than many government issued apps in the US. So kudos to CAN for the app, but one minor user experience change and I would give it 5 stars.

Arr-Can preflight questionnaire …
This opportunity to prepare for a flight to Canada at the ArrCAN website was an intelligent idea. The questions are similar to those that Airport Security would request of any passenger flying international from the United States to a foreign country. Passport information, along with reminders of the amount of money, products for retail (if any) or gifts is asked. Basic information too, your name and possibly the names of others in your party is pretty much typical. The process is easy and intuitive.

Not a functional App
This is just a Google doc. Should just be on web browser. You can’t change any information after it’s been input. You can’t change your quarantine plan. And there’s no feedback if something is submitted in error. The app gives you a receipt that makes it appear that you’re good to travel but then when you get to the border they can do whatever they want to you. This app is therefore rendered meaningless. Shameful on the Canadian governments part to use this pandemic as an opportunity to make money. These “quarantine hotels” that this app is meant for is causing greater exposure. If you want an app thats going to do it’s part it needs to track Covid cases like they did in Korea. That would make the app more useful.

Review: ArriveCan
I really appreciated the way that this was designed - to not have to know everything that needs to be submitted at once - because you don’t know all of the info needed until you go through the app. It was very kind, that way. I needed to go out and then return into the app a few times (e.g., ran out of time) and it allowed for that. It also allowed for changes to your response in case you’d misread the question after you’d passed that page. Thank you very much.

Caught in the loop
Tried to fill out info without adding yet another barely used App to my work iPad. Canadian Government site gave option to fill out info on line. After selecting this option I added all of my info then tried to submit form. The site said I could not submit until updating the App which, by the way, I did not download in the first place. Went to App Store get the App. It only had option to update App. It said I could not update the App because I did not purchase it. At that point I was stuck between info that would not submit and an App that would not update. Had to go through whole process on a completely different device and download App first for it to function.

Need an option for traveling in and out of the country the same day
No Canadian address to put in when you’re planning to travel straight through the country in one day. We received notifications to quarantine our children and report symptoms even when everyone in the group is fully vaccinated and asymptomatic. We were told to request exit and stop answering the questions. It’s a hassle to request exit from the country online, then you continue to get the notifications to report symptoms for quarantine. Maybe that could be added to the app? Was instructed to create a second account to travel back through the country when it was less than 14 days from the first trip.
