A collectors perspective

I’m a serious photography collector and Artsy is invaluable to me. It’s the first place I go to begin researching an artist or looking up available work and gallery information. Sending out queries directly from the Artsy App is convenient. Their customer support and auction advisors are attentive and knowledgeable. Because I find Artsy so easy to navigate on my IPad, and its content so rich, I finally cut all ties to Artnet in favor of Artsy. I love the newsletters as well. My only gripe is that upon receiving the notice email of “New works by artists you follow”, it would be convenient to click on the new image that is pictured and have that link directly to that specific page with the new work by that artist. As it is, I’m just routed from my email to the App...I’m on my own from there...not the worst case scenario, as exploring Artsy is always a treat for me.

Great app for collecting, connecting with galleries, tracking artists

Whenever I learn about a new artist, I go to Artsy to look them up, and I follow them. The list of the artists I follow has essentially become a list of all the artists I’m interested in, saved in one place. Then, the app tells me whenever those artists have new works available on Artsy. I’ve purchased a couple of works through Artsy and it makes connecting with a gallery seamless and simple—it really takes the intimidation factor of collecting out of the equation.

The only app I’m HAPPY to be addicted to

Art brings me so much joy, and I love how this app makes that joy more frequent in my life. I particularly appreciate how Artsy surfaces amazing artists I never otherwise would have discovered from all over the world. And I look forward to collecting more of these artists. Speaking of which, Artsy is the first app to make buying and selling art as easy as using Airbnb. I can’t imagine going back to doing it any other way.

Not Working

I am unable to add any categories other than the only one I chose when I first opened the APP. (Impossible to return to that page.) Tried deleting the APP and reopening. The one Category I was able to open in the beginning has very clear photos. Where are the categories so I can add more? Have tapped on literally everything offered to no avail. Does it need to be this difficult? One page only partially displays so parts of words are missing. I got the same results using my iPad. The Help Center responded quickly and tried hard to help me. I’m using 11.3.1 IOS on 6s+ iPhone. So very disappointed as I am an artist active on Instagram and Pinterest and heard good things about it May 11, 2018, on an artists’ podcast (Artists Helping Artists)

Best art buying app!

I’ve been using Artsy for sometime now. I can say that when I first made a purchase the delivery was well coordinated with the auction house. Payment method was quickly accepted and I received my art piece in a well insulated and protected shipment. I’m definitely going to be using Arty to considerably grow my collection.

My favorite app in the universe

A million artworks from Warhol to new emerging artists from galleries on the other side of the world. Incredible art market data and transparency which you can’t find anywhere else in the art world. Great editorial. Live auctions. Click to buy. The whole thing is amazing if you love art.

Issues with search

Overall, I love the app, but lately, I get stuck after searching for an artist just once. It gets stuck and I have to swipe out of it. It appeared to have been fixed in the last update and I was excited, but just tried attempted a new search and can’t even scroll through the list of artists once I have put anything on the search bar. Help!

Great way to discover new artists

I love the personalized recommendations. Every time I open the app I discover new artists I want to learn more about. I have a modest collecting budget and like to buy unique art by up and coming artists, and I’m constantly finding things I want to buy.

Font too small

Great site, but the font is often too small to read on a smartphone and for some reason you can’t enlarge. Mainly on certain auctions and when filtering. Don’t make it hard for people to give you money.

Very robust app

I use this app to help me understand the art market, what is trending, and to enjoy art without having to travel to galleries. The user experience is intuitive and Artsy gives me excellent recommendations. I would strongly recommend!

Not as good as before

The app was great a while back. Now they removed other features like magazine/news content. It would have been good to be able to access this news content from the app. You put so much editorial work into it, not sure why you would remove it from being read and to increase readership on that content.

Information

This site is a great place to search and buy photo realistic paintings. And it exposes me to artists that I enjoy, that had not heard of, which helps me make future purchases

Devs Loss

To the devs: Very unfortunate you get featured in Apple Apps and you don’t feature self representing artists...your loss! Deleting app...sounds like you have further issues anyway...good luck...perhaps I will redownload if you get it together. Before you down load...if you are a self representing artist don’t bother they don’t want you. If you are looking for self represented artists go to EBay, Etsy, Fine Art America...don’t look here they only want ones that are featured by galleries and other venues.

Too often says “unable to load”

I love Artsy, but the app doesn’t work for me about 60% of the time for me. I run into “unable to load” too often when trying to navigate through the app. Also, for some reason, it doesn’t sync with my profile I have on their web version. Artists and galleries I follow on the web page don’t show up as being followed on the app.

Great Online Market Source

This site is well designed, intriguing and responsive with a minimum amount of stress. All parameters of the art transaction are clearly explained by logical tapping on proffered artwork or prompts. Never was I led down a rabbit warren of twists and turns, unable to return to where I started.

Amazing and reliable application

I use this to keep track of artists and artwork I like. When I want to find galleries to check out, this app is very useful for that.

Some feedback

I love the app, website etc. one thing that would be very helpful is if you could choose a currency to display prices in. While some individuals may have the conversion rate of Swiss francs to usd in their head, I do not.

My favorite way to discover new artists

Using the Artsy app is such a positive part of my day!! I love how it’s organized, it’s incredibly easy to use, but best of all it allows me to discover new artists I haven’t heard of before.

What happened to the articles???

I downloaded this app so I could read the interesting content Artsy puts out. But with the latest update I don’t see a way to get to the articles. Please restore this feature so I don’t have to go to the web separate from the app to read the great information you produce.

AVOID!

Avoid this app and this company UNLESS you want part of your purchase funds going toward extreme leftist political causes. Extreme political views and activism combined with part of the purchase prices of products and services should not mix for either side of the aisle! The sooner that merchants and vendors figure that out, the better! Do not support this or any company that chooses to say “F you” to 50% of the population, whether it’s left or right leaning. Moronic companies!

Can’t access account settings and website doesn’t work

I rarely use this app and decided to delete my account after receiving an email from Artsy about a data security incident. I can’t do that because there is no way to access my account through the app. I’ve tried to visit their website but it’s not coming up so I have no way to even reset my password like the email suggested I do.

How to read articles?

I love the artsy app but every time I try to click on an artsy link from Facebook/my browser it launches the app but doesn’t open the article. Unless I can’t figure it out there’s no way to read the articles on the app. Gave up on many articles because of this

Very expensive.

UX is great and so is the quality of works on the platform. With that said, it's far too expensive to justify the cost. A great up and coming system is called artcloud. Much more affordable and a comparable experience.

I enjoy getting updates on artists and their work. Most items are beyond my price range; or so my wife tells me, however there are pieces I’d love to own. However, I already have so much artwork, I’ve no place to hang new pieces. Yoniben

Facebook articles dead end in artsy app

Every time I click on Artsy article in Facebook to read it, it automatically goes and opened my Artsy app but never takes me to the article. Just takes me to my feed of the artist I’m following. So annoying! I basically have no way of reading any articles unless I open on a lap top.

Avoid this service at all costs.

If you are a gallery owner or a collector you should 100% avoid this service. If you’re on here to buy art, please don’t support these crooks and buy your art directly from a real gallery. If you’re a gallery owner, trying to figure out if this service is right for you, it’s not. They’re an awful company to work with and a huge waist of money.

Magazine Format?

I just updated after ages. The old app still worked, and the home was a magazine format with possibly articles and complications, but also large format pictures. Where did that go? It was visually very interesting.

Good Size, Bad Quality

If you’re looking for artists who sniff their own farts or glue to get high; you’ve found the application. It takes forever to find something that is just decent in terms of fine art. Everything is overpriced. You can buy better art off of a comission on Fiverr. Better off doing something else with your time. The interface is slick and there is art actually on there. But, if you’re looking for something to actually buy and put in your home: Pass this app.

Compression is annoying

When I try to save a particular piece to my photos using the “share” feature, it becomes awfully compressed/blurry and it’s pretty onnoxious

I can’t open the app

This app seems overall ok and it’s good that it supports artists but I’ve been having trouble even starting the app up, every time I try and open it I closes up in the span of 1 second.

Absolutely useless!

First, they expect you to create an account. I’m not even sure I like the app yet. I used a fake email and name. Next, the reason I downloaded the app in the first place - to try it out on my walls with VR - doesn’t even work. The lighting in my room is about as good as you can get, and this can’t detect my walls. Lame. 👎
