Overall very good!
Hi! I hope the developer sees this as I have one request, hoping it’s an easily resolvable one. I saw another review and it asked for a practice test feature. That would be great because I’m not sure I’m retaining everything I’m learning. The lessons are quick and it’s hard to be able to tell if everything I’m learning is being retained. Another thing I’ve noticed is that in the study section the answer is always “yes”. There’s never the option for me to say no because they’re always right. I’d also love for there to be a feature like flash cards where it shows the sign and we tap the screen and it shows us what it means. The practice test feature would be great and so would the flash cards. I hope this is seen but other than those requests I love this app and in the short amount of time I’ve used it I am remembering a lot of the things!

*mwah* amazing for beginners.
I LOVE THIS APP. i downloaded it because i wanted to use asl so me and my stepsibling can communicate without having to talk, and just because it would be a good skill to have in the future. i downloaded this and i immediately got to learning. i’ve had it for several months and i love it so much. however, it got a 4 star from me because you can only do one lesson a day. i think that doing one lesson a day might be good for some people to learn and obtain knowledge better but for some people not so much. you have to pay to do more than one lesson a day. other than that the app is great. i wish that for the flash cards it would challenge you a little bit more because the answer is always “yes” but it isn’t a huge deal. i absolutely LOVE the dictionary. it helps me so much and i honestly use it several times a day. it has helped me form sentences in asl and figure out words that might be kind of difficult. the videos that help me learn and pretty clear and not confusing, although sometimes it can be a little depending on the word but that isn’t their fault. overall, i think that anyone who is looking to learn asl and is a beginner should download this app. it also has a page with the full asl alphabet which helped me a bunch. good luck!!

Do not get, confusing things
So Today thx morning, I went to open the daily lessons, but when I got on, it was doing random swords I didint know, well I kinda did know cuz I looked it up in the dictionary but if I didint know, I would’ve gotten it wrong, but guess what, I still got it wrong, because it first, pointed at me, then pointed at herself, then did the love sign then pointed at me again. So I typed in, you I love her, because when you point at someone, it mean you, then I did I and love, I got those to correct, now why did I add the her? Beacuase it pointed at me again and I could choose the same word twice if it didn’t have the same word, but what I’m really upset about is that it started off like that, didint give me a hint at the bottom and didint ahve 2 rectangles with the person inside of it doing asl, and I picking which one I think is correct. Oh and 1 more thing, don’t download beacuase all you can do with out paying weekly or monthly Is the dictionary and alphabet and the daily lessons, if you pay weekly or monthly, you can do lessons and other things. Oh and for the flash cards, I might now use them ever again, cuz for the yes or no questions, it’s always yes, yes, yes, yes. So one time I just spammed Yes. Bye bye and don’t download I may be deleting this app right now. Bye.

Questioning the validity of these signs
I am a hearing person interested in learning ASL so that I can better communicate with d/Deaf people. I’m disabled, so I value inclusivity and accessibility. I was excited to find this app and see so many outstanding reviews. Then I downloaded it and found out that not only did it provide about four signs per day (and charge a lot of money for anything more), but these signs seem… off. For one, the signer seems to be hearing; her “e” shape is open and NOT worth emulating. I understand that some d/Deaf people accept the “screaming e,” but overall it is discouraged by the community. Trying to learn ASL from someone who uses inaccurate handshapes feels like when I tried to learn Spanish from a teacher who never bothered to use correct pronunciation. Also, the sign for “why” is not what I learned from a Deaf person at all. There may be alternate signs for it I’m just unaware of, but after seeing the “e” in “elevator,” I’m skeptical. I would hope that the few signs I’ve learned from this are accurate, but I worry that they’re negatively impacting my understanding of the language as I just don’t know how many of them are correct and how many aren’t.

Great start!
I came to send a message to the developers, but many of the things I’ve to say appear to been echoed by many already. It’s an ok app if you’re starting to learn. However, there’s quite a few things that leave more to be desired. There’s no test feature, so there’s really no way to see if you’re learning anything. The study feature is pretty useless as well as it’s just always yes. The one time I’ve ever had to push no, it wouldn’t let me, and accepted yes as correct even though it was not the correct sign (beef vs hamburger). I don’t yet understand the point of all the treasure and gems; it seems you only use them to buy things like skips, but the lessons are so easy and you get chests so fast, I don’t know what to do but collect them all I guess. I’ve also seen in some harder lessons (where they put more signs together and you need to translate the sentence) that the interpreter uses signs that haven’t been taught yet so you just give it your best guess. Even happens in the study cards somehow? Again, great app if you’re just starting to learn like me, but definitely could be better too.

I think it’s great
First and this is just my personal opinion, I see a lot of reviews that say they don’t like the flash card questions as being bad because the answer is always “Yes” personally, I like it because it’s more of a review and that seems to work for me. I believe there are many other aspects of the app that tests your knowledge to see if you know what a particular sign means. Perhaps they should change the flash cards to review cards but like I said, in my case at least, they reinforce the correct sign. I think the best part of the app are the hints that basically explain the sign and how to make it which provides a mental image association with the sign making it easier to remember and recognize when you see it. I think it’s a great app

Paid options are not great
The best feature of the app if the dictionary. The lessons are very limited and beyond hand holding. They don’t actually give you a chance to learn but rather they force feed you the answer by keeping all of the pictures in every area making it nearly impossible to even try most of the time. Some of the video sentences play in the wrong order compared to what they want the answer. The study feature……. This could have been an amazing part of the app. It sadly is beyond far from it. Every answer is yes. It shows the word and the correct sign every single time. Then once you learn the flash card once you can never just hit study and go through those words again. I am just very disappointed as a whole on what some of the features are and you can tell it was put together as a second thought with some of the features. Real shame because this app could have been something amazing.

Eh
I was so happy to learn a new language to communicate with myself and when I’m angry and then I had to pay to learn a language like people we learn English without money you know because our parents probably know English and we learned English from so basically you’re saying that to repeat that thing again we have to pay for it there are so many apps that do not need to be forced for you to pay for them I’m sorry for complaining but I just would like it if you maybe could do the subscription for other things like you know if it’s like something really cool that you can just do something like that but if it’s just some thing like what you just did to me or whatever I don’t know then I will get a bit upset I mean yeah I was good you have a really good app and I want to say thank you for creating it for people to learn sign language and whoever heard that woman to do the sign languages is like so epic but that’s all I’m saying so yeah

Great app- needs an “add to mastered list” feature
Overall very good app. This app has the most comprehensive dictionary out of all of the apps I have tried. There are a few issues, such as the flashcards- the answer is always yes. It would be nice if it were an actual quiz. It would also be nice to be able to review the things that you’ve already mastered, not just be able to review signs once. One feature I would love to have is to be able to add my own signs to the list of mastered signs. For instance, if I look something up and learn it, I want to be able to add it to the list of mastered signs, so I can go back and review it. Thank you so much for a wonderful app! I’m really enjoying using it to learn to sign and communicate!

Overall very good
Ok so, i learned that there is going to be a deaf girl in my grade this year, so i thought it would be a good idea to start learning how to sign, in hopes of becoming her friend. I’ve been searching for ASL apps that didn’t make you have to pay a ton of money just to get a couple lessons, which is what i like about this app. My only issue is that there are only a certain amount of lessons you can get for free before you have to start paying. I have already learned a lot from this app, and i have been encouraging my parents, siblings, and friends to start learning as well. so what i’m trying to say is that if you want a good, ASL app that doesn’t cost a million dollars, this is the one you should get, 110%.

Best ASL App
I think this is the best app to learn ASL. It doesn’t force you to pay for a subscription or anything to learn more—for free it’s one daily lesson, which is pretty absorbable for me. It’s really really effective at teaching and getting me to memorize the signs. I struggle with studying consistently, especially with languages, but this app makes it fun to learn actually. My favorite feature is the dictionary where you can look up any word and see the video for the sign, which is enormously helpful and amazing! I’m really grateful for this app because it’s making learning ASL super easy. I’d recommend this app for anybody who wants to learn ASL. Though it says I only have a 1 day streak and it’s definitely more than that lol

Amazing App
This app is great, in my opinion one of the best apps to start learning ASL. I even paid the montly subscription (you are not required) but I do love this app. One thing that would make this app AMAZING is having like sentences with the actual word on the “study” section and not just the multiple choice review. Just like how there is build up sentences in the learning part, there should be also one for the study section. And it would truly help being able to study with random words from sections that were already reviewed, instead of having to click the category; because I already know which words are going to appear. By having random words from different sections, you are obligated to know them by heart and not just by section.

Thought I canceled my subscription a week ago
It says I canceled my subscription a week ago then today I got billed $65 (even though 1 year is $60, not sure where my $5 went) can’t find any contact support That can help me. Searched the web and couldn’t find anything there or in the app. May have my family’s lawyer help me out. But this is ridiculous. $65 is insanely expensive especially since I got through half of the app in a week. It said canceled in my Apple ID but I guess this app charges anyway. I would definitely recommend my school get this for all the laptops if I could get some help because I do think it’s good for learning. But the fact that I was charged so much for nothing is horrible especially since we’re in the middle of a pandemic, and I don’t have the money to cover the $65. I bet this is happening to a lot of people. If the app developers could give me an email to contact to resolve this issue I would really appreciate it.

Awesome app to learn new words!
I love this app and I’m learning so much! To get the most of the app you do have to pay but it is very worth it! The only complaint I have is that when you want to master words you have been taught the only way to do that is with flash cards that just show you the sign and ask if the sign is correct (and it is ALWAYS correct) so there is no good way to really test yourself to see if you know it or not. It seems like there could be room for something to be added and I think better tests would be just the way to do that! Other than that I use the app everyday and the visuals are very nice. Oh another thing is that if you have music playing in the back ground then it cuts out when you are learning new words so I can’t have music playing in the background at all.

GET THIS if you wish to learn asl
I wanted to try to start learning ASL with one of my language goals, but finding an app that was free & good I practically gave up. This was the exception I am glad I found. If you can afford it, it’s $5.99 a month but if you are on a very small income such as myself you don’t need to pay. It’s very easy to comprehend and here a few reasons you should get this app to learn asl. 1) treasure chests are rewarded every time you learn the daily free lesson. 2) treasure chests give you lives, & other tools to keep you learning even if you get an answer wrong. 3) Very easy to understand & learn. 4) study section where you can get treasure chests from too. 5) study section lets you study alphabet, words, sentences & I think a few other things but I like the sentences because I can actually comprehend what it being said & take a chance of answering correctly. 6) Library where you can type in a word or even a sentence & it will break the the sentence down word by word so you can say it in asl. I really liked learning sparkle & brilliant from that.

Wish for features but great start
Hello! I love this app. It’s has a great format and is good for practice. I have a few wishes that should be easy to implement: - I wish, like flash cards, there was “test yourself” section where you just show the English word and I have to remember the sign myself, THEN I could see the sign once I click to see it. Right now, you can’t quiz yourself this way. - I wish for more variations of words in the lessons. The word apple and orange keep coming up, as if those are the only words mixed in to each themed lesson. Please mix in more words. - I wish I could turn the photo hints (which are amazing!) off to challenge myself - I wish I could turn off having to type the words into a box. It slows down my practice having to do that.

Many signs are wrong!
Im not sure. Im deaf and do sign (not fluent). Some of the signs are odd. Like “hello” and “store” Both signers are doing it oddly. Maybe its a regional thing? Hello is just the salute. But she adds something in begging of salute. A little movement. Its just a salute. Then “store” she does it sideways and on forehead? Not correct. Its tips of fingers downward and sign is on torso. Not forehead. Am i to trust any other signs they do? Plus most of this is a guessing game with picts. Duh. It says which is orange showing 2 picts. One is orange and one is truck. Gosh which is orange? Not very challenging at all. I do like the dictionary though but again can i trust they’re doing the signs correctly if they cant even sign hello correctly. Update; played with this more and these people don’t know what they’re doing. Just check out airplane. The signer looks stupid. Shes poking her face? Really? This really upsets me because as any language its extremely important to be accurate.

you can legit always play!!
What I love is that even if you don’t have premium, every 24 hours you get a free daily lesson that teaches u brand new signs abd u can replay it however many times u want. Also the same thing but with Flashcards you can do Flashcards every 24 hours too. Favorite asl app and this deserves more credit. There dictionary is also amazing and you don’t need premium for that. What makes it more interesting and fun is the diamonds and the treasure chest items, this game in general very thoughtful and I love it. If you wanna learn American Sign Language this should be the only app you have because it’s all you need. I’m about to get the premium too Not kidding!!

Very great app!
This app is great for anyone starting out and has a passion to learn something new. The lessons are great and they demonstrate all the words very well. They also have a dictionary where you can look up specific words. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to learn. You do have to pay for this but you get a free two week trial and it’s only 6 dollars a month and in my opinion it’s worth it completely. A few things I wish they would have added or fixed are - the study section repeats some words over and over (like milk and soup for some reason) and so before I can get to new words I have to make it through six or seven of the same words over and over - I wish there was a section showing all the words you’ve learned just in a list as I’d like to be able to go down the list and repeat the signs almost like flash cards - is love for there to be little practice tests or something like that after say every 5-10 lessons so we know that we really are retaining everything we’re learning Over all this is a really great app and I’m excited to continue using it!

I would sign great but who’s going to see it.
I love this app and it’s thought me a lot of signs I feel like finding a deaf person and just signing until my arms fall of well anyway you should get this app it’s so awesome my sister got a different app and it wasn’t as good it had glitches and the signs weren’t correct they had weird signs that had nothing to do with the thing they said it did! Besides I’m on this app as much as I can be I try never to miss them ever so I do three to four lessons a day. Well I all ready know some signs but I wanted to learn more I watched sue Thomas FB eye and that show taught me signs like sorry hungry baby and a hole ton more.

Inflated Price & Underdeveloped App
I think it’s obvious what the dev is doing here — your “free trial” ends after two weeks (which is an atypical period of time for most trials of this nature which seems deliberate) and then the app charges you $65. The abnormal “free trial” time period coupled with the inflated price is suspect to me, and I think it’s a pretty transparent ploy to get $$ quick from an underdeveloped app that needed more work before being rolled out. I’m skeptical if the dev is actually planning on finishing the work left to do, or if they know they’ll make $$ from folks who forgot to opt out after two weeks and then ride it out until they shut the whole thing down. Don’t think the dev speaks ASL or is involved in the community — lots of mistakes, and the name of the app literally says “ASL (American Sign Language) Sign Language.” Pretty lame imo. If you’re passionate about language-learning, there are better, actually free options for learning ASL online!

Only Good for Free Trail
The app has potential, but it’s obvious immediately that this was a very low budget development. I’m not sure if this was this girl’s thesis project or Something similar, but it misses the mark in so many areas. There are misspelled words, some of the videos include extra signs that aren’t included in the “quiz”, many times signs you haven’t studied will be thrown into a sentence and you’re expected to know them. I get that this is supposed to be like a DuoLingo for ASL, but again I feel it has totally missed the mark. And what are the chests and all that for??? Some of the sentences she signs seem much more like SEE than ASL (ex: she signs the word “the” many times in sentences) I’d recommend using the free trial to learn vocab , but make sure you immediately cancel the free trial so you’re not charged after the 2 weeks.

Love to learn this way!
This app is great and the best really free app I have seen for learning ASL. I hope they are able to add more units in the future. I would pay for ad-free but not a subscription just because I hate that sales model. I am also willing to deal with the frequent ads if necessary. I suggest the developers have the progress page at the end of each lesson load more quickly because it is repetitive and adds to the time between lessons. Most of the ads are pretty short anyway, so that would make it less of a bother. Keep up the great teaching and the dedication your work shows!!

Considerations
If the developer sees this I hope you help me. I can’t pay for the subscription. If it may be possible could you change it to us having to pay diamonds for a new lesson instead of making us pay because I would love to learn sign language but I can’t afford it. By the way I am thirteen and I think this would be good for the app and boost its users and sales if you put it in adds and make it all free. Also I would suggest fixing the yes and no part because the answer to all of them is always yes. I hope you consider these changes, and work on them very soon for the benefit of your app. Best of luck to you! Signing off, Your hopeful user

THIS is THEE app to learn ASL
I tried a few sign language apps, this is undeniably the best, in my opinion. I took a year of sign in school, so I was looking for a great way to not just refresh my memory but increase my abilities and knowledge in sign. Here are some of my favorite features: -a free lesson every day -free word search -free flash card lessons -sign-along feature (you turn on your camera and mimic signs. It will move on to the next sign when you’ve correctly completed the first) -common word lessons in the finger spelling section Those are all from the free version! I also just found out that all the daily free lessons you complete get added to the flash card section! So I can go back and practice all the previous lessons I’ve taken, for free. I will absolutely be recommending this app to others. I already have relearned a few strong sentences and am building my vocabulary. So happy with this app. Huge thank you to the people who made it possible.

Sloppy and confusing
Edit*** I just realized they misspelled language in the title. Well that tells you everything you need to know about this dumpster fire of an app. I really don’t understand how this has above a four star rating. I’ve been taking ASL lessons for 6 months and would be happy pay for a good app that would help me improve and practice my signing. I expected, for the price, to get actually lesson with someone who is certified to teach or interpret ASL. Instead you get choppy gifs with emoji style pictographs too learn words like apple and egg. This app is laughably basic beginner level with very little content. It’s also confusing and really sloppily put together, it just looks very amateurish. There are no lessons for grammar or to help practice sentence structure, or fingerspelling (besides learning the alphabet). All it shows is basic words. You can find much better for apps that charge once the price this costs per month. I really applaud people creating ASL learning apps, as it’s a great skill to learn. But this app is exploitive, tricking people into paying for something they will learn nothing from. I tried the free trial but immediately canceled after using it once. I’m still in disbelief that someone would try to pass this off as being worth a $60 subscription.

I love it!
I really enjoy this app and it is very good at teaching new signs that I didn’t know! One problem is you can only do one free lesson a day. You have to get a monthly or yearly pass to do all the other lessons. One thing I find confusing sometimes is sometimes there are other gestures when they are signing it and I can’t tell if it’s part of it or not. And one thing that would be amazing is if the flash cards weren’t all yes. I think it would be cool to have yes and no cards. But overall it’s a really amazing app and I have expanded my asl vocabulary!

Could be vastly improved easily
This is a clear knockoff of duolingo with ASL which is a great idea. They are lacking in some very basic areas though. The only way to study is flash cards with yes or no answers and the answer is always yes. When they give you three options to test a new sign, one of the options is almost always an apple or orange instead of something more relevant. The gifs are edited incorrectly sometimes and some of the hints are clearly mapped to the wrong signs. This app has a great idea and can easily be a five star app if the developers cared more and spent one week fixing these issues. I still want to learn sign language so I’m going to use the app, but i hope that it is repaired soon.

It’s OK
Very good comprehensive app and I do really like the dictionary feature. However, there’s no real way to review everything you’ve learned in one motion without going through individual sections. Flash card answers are always “yes” so there’s not much point to even viewing what they’re asking. Sometimes the parts where you’re given a video and have to put the sentence together uses vocabulary you haven’t learned yet - which, I understand the point, but it’s frustrating and just a process of elimination. During these, the actors often use different signs for the words we just learned and never explain further. There are also multiple instances where there are no hints or explanations to why a sign looks the way it does, and no explanation on how the hands should be held (as you can’t see them from every angle) I also wish the lessons were a little harder / options were varied. Every choice I have when given a “what is this sign?” Scenario has the correct word next to the apple and orange signs - which haven’t actually come back up in learning at all.

Yeah, NOOO
So I got this app because I wanted to learn sign language (obviously) so that I could talk to my friends during class and be bilingual. There was this other app that I was considering, but it was $18 a month and I’m not Bill Gates. First of all, oh my gosh!! This app is very unreliable, I already know a bit of sign language and some of the signs used in the app are way off. While this app is already definitely not about to win “IPhone App Of the Year,” it then does something as horrific as nails on a chalk board. After my first lesson I try to do a second and it tells me I need to get a subscription for this! The only reason I didn’t give it 0 stars is bc I physically couldn’t. If there is one good thing I can say about Pocket Sign it’s that somebody is “making an effort” to make learning sign language accessible for everyone.

Great app!
I’ve tried several other ASL apps and this one is the best! I like that it quizzes you with multiple choice questions. The new version, 2.2.2, is doing something with the audio on my iPhone. I hear a chiming sound sometimes. I prefer no audio and there should be a way to disable it if you plan on using it more extensively. A way to send Dev feedback and bug reports would be nice too. I was on the verge of subscribing until this version.

Not what I expected
So I want to learn ASL because I have a friend who is sometimes nonverbal and speaks in ASL. I downloaded this app and did the first free lesson. As the lesson went on I got diamonds or whatever so I thought that I would “pay” for other lessons with said diamonds. However, it is a subscription that I didn’t know I would have to sign up for. I didn’t expect it since the app was free. Not only that, but the price seems higher than other apps I have. Though the free lessons seem good for beginners like me, I would probably not recommend for someone wanting to be fluent in ASL (other reviews say signs are wrong). (go read other reviews before downloading too, good to see pov of others before downloading an app)

Some of the signs are wrong?
I’m currently in ASL 2 and I thought I would just download the app for fun to see how much I already know and to try and learn more in addition to the stuff I’m already learning but I’ve noticed that some of these signs are either slightly to sometimes even drastically different to the signs we are taught in asl, I know sometimes there are different ways of signing the same thing but whenever there is a sign like that my teacher makes sure to go over those signs, and I know my teacher isn’t the one messing up considering her mom is deaf and she was an interpreter for a while, idk just seemed weird to me

Please make Flash cards more challenging
I have been using this for about two days and I have tried a few other apps and this is the one I like the most I’ve definitely learned a lot so far I just wish they would make it a little more challenging when it’s asking you like which one is apple and there’s the giant apple figure on top doesn’t do much to challenge you and like a lot of other people said definitely not making the flash card a constant yes would help a lot more so I can actually know if I can figure out the word myself.

Good app, but some sign explanations missing!
When I first tried this app the daily free lesson had image descriptions / sign explanations for each word. This was probably what made me most excited about this app. However, I could not see these explanations in the “study” section of the app when I wanted to review words I learned. And sometimes, the free chest for 7 correct answers in a row would completely cover the sign explanation as well. Finally, the second day’s free lesson had no sign explanations at all. With these issues fixed I could definitely see myself paying for a subscription.

Tests
Please add more tests. Where they sign a phrase and you text what they said. The two each lesson aren’t enough. I’d like to see real conversations so I can better learn. And the study aspect would be cool if we could make our own flash cards. I wish the lessons weren’t exactly the same after you finish in case you want to review. I flew through the lessons in a day so I’d like to go back and practice but each lesson I go to review is exactly the same and the phrasing test in them are the same so I already know what they’re sign. If there was a section of just testing. Lessons then a real test that would be awesome!

Very frustrating, practiced with it before going to class taught by community members from MSD, (maryland school for the deaf) so many things I had to forget and relearn and no way to send feedback. will never spend money for another ASL app unless its recomended by a teaching member of the community. Ive tried to use it to review our last lesson and its almost always diferent than what was taught. Also it has you memmorize the exact sign (translate) then expects you to intereperate a phrase rather than translate what the signs are WITHOUT explaining the conceptual diference between translation and interpertatino.

This app is infuriating
i used this app for so long without researching because you know it’s an app you’d think it’d be correct but instead it was wrong😭 it’s not correct look for example you search up side eye nd it’s signs the side of your body then to your eye which is incorrect it’s just separates it and won’t let you put symbols like hyphens nd most of the time it doesn’t have the things you need to search it doesn’t have all of the signs i still continue to use this app but come on please update this

Even the free daily lesson is good
I’m happy with all that I’m learning, and I find the dictionary very helpful, but one thing that bugs me is the way the free daily lessons are set up. First says what is this, and shows u a picture. And then it says what is that, and shows a picture. Then it asks you to type out the name of the sign shown. But the answer is ALWAYS the first question that was asked. And then it just repeats. I hope the company can challenge themselves into making it better. Everything else is great.

Good for beginners
My only real critique of the app is that sometimes the instructors have too much of a flourish on their hand movements so it makes it difficult to understand the sign that they’re trying to teach. (“Window” shouldn’t bounce so much, it should be one solid movement) Or their facial expressions doesn’t match the sign. Other than that I think it would be awesome to have a harder difficulty setting for older learners. It’s easy to know the answer for “what sign is orange” when there is a picture of an orange next to the sign.

Cool app
It’s fun learning a bunch of little things and teaching my kids certain words and sentences. One thing I don’t like is some of the videos where the main girl does the same sign twice kind of fast instead of just one time at a learnable pace while sometimes the video will sort of glitch and you don’t know when the word begins. Idk if I explained that very well but for 5 bucks I’m not mad. My kids and I like it. I’ll probably add an additional app to my phone tho to learn from different apps :)

Game changer!
Recently at my job, a deaf man was hired to work along side of me. I had no concerns other than “how can I communicate better with him?” Since I don’t really know ASL I figured pen and paper would work too. But my friend showed me this app and I was able to quickly learn phrases we use all the time at work! My co worker likes that I’m learning and helps me out too! This app has really helped to break the ice and help me learn to communicate better with my co worker. Thank you!!!

Great app
This app is great and I just started using it. I know some sign language but is a good way for me to learn more. I think it would be a great idea to have a setting menu to say seton up a reminder to do lessons and a profile to see your overall progress. I have one question, what are the gems used for, I do not see a store page to use them and when I click(tap) on the gems it does nothing. I would love to see more features added in there near future. Thank You

Great!
I just started and already learned so much so fast. I was so surprised that I learned it that fast that I decided to subscribe. $6 a month is not a big deal. Plus, if I’m paying for it, I’ll be more motivated to keep learning. The way it teaches me really helps me to learn fast. I just showed my husband all I’ve learned already. I didn’t guess about any of it. It shows a picture, the word, and the video of the action to say that word. It goes over it again if you didn’t get it the first few times. It doesn’t leave you behind at all. It makes sure you got the word before giving you much more. I’m really excited about learning sign language now!!! Oh, yeah, it gives you rewards to use like a video game, too! This app is definitely the one to get.

Like it a lot but wish for updates too
I love all of what I’ve learned so far but I agree with so many other reviewers. I wish there was a longer testing section and a study guide that you could swipe thru instead of having to pick each word or to have to click yes or no for all of the flash cards (even though they are all yes). It would also be nice to have other options aside from apple and orange. I think seeing and being tested on conversations would be great too.

This app is good but
This app is good but you can only do the free daily lesson over and over and any other you need to pay for even if you unlock it. This app is great for someone like me who is good at something if you put all your focus on it. I would recommend you do the study part that says yes or no to refresh your brain because the answer is always yes so you basically just get a recap on what happened. I really recommend this app but I am going to try a different one and compare😊

Good App!!
I like this app! Unlike the other ones I’ve quickly scanned, this one seems to have questions to help you retain it, instead of others that just give you the sign and hope you remember it. I did notice that when you study, most questions are the answer yes, which isn’t honestly that big of a deal. But when I did come across one that was no, I tried to press the button “no” and it didn’t work (nothing happened). And then when I pressed “yes” it told me I was right. But besides that, I think it’s pretty good! :)

Developers PLEASE
I love this app but it DESPERATELY needs a “report” function on some of the words in the search page. I have found a few signs that were outright incorrect. Also, it would be incredibly helpful to have words with multiple meanings clarified - like “second” - whether it’s regarding *TIME* or first, second, third *PLACE* etc. A simple button for suggestions on the search results would allow the team to review and correct or update their dictionary as needed.

I just started today and it’s awesome
My mom would buy it for a premium but to do any lessons in one day but I have an ask her but you can do it for free and that’s what I’m doing right now and it’s so fun you can do it for free where you practice and there is an alphabet and it’s super easy once you get to know everything it’s really fun to see how far you can go with it and tell me where you go and where are you use it I’m so curious

Rewards
Great app but I wish you could have more options to use your rewards for. You gain gems and peace sign and the only thing you can do is use the gems for is your by skips, double try’s and bombs. I don’t even know what the peace sign is used for!! Overall this is a great app to learn from but it’s also very easy and therefore it’s very easy to gain and keep gems. I wish there was harder levels to unlock or other thing you can use the gems and peace signs for!
