This app needs fixed desperately
This app used to be great, I have ordered a couple things from this app before and it worked fine until recently. I don’t know why but I was logged out of the app, and now any time I try to log back in it just kicks me back to the opening page of “sign in or create account” nothing will load, and the app keeps taking me back to that same opening page no matter what I try or do. I could literally just click the “sign in” or “continue as guest” buttons and it puts me back to the opening page. This is so frustrating. This app had so much potential. Please fix this issue as soon as possible. Barnes and Noble is such a great store and having this app is so convenient, but only when it’s working. Which according to other reviews, it doesn’t work 95% of the time. Considering the amount of bad reviews there are you would think they would try to fix this app but it’s starting to feel like a lost cause :(

Please update this app.
The B&N app needs actual bug fixed and a redesign.. I'm trying to order books right now and it takes forever to load any page, when I'm scrolling sometimes it just freezes, and half the time when I add a book to my cart it says there's an error and it completely signs me out of the app. The slowness and freezing happens in this app too frequently. I'm trying to give you my money vs cheaper competitors, please update this app. The amount of negative reviews for the app and the low rating should be a major sign to the company that it needs to be fixed if you want to continue selling books online.

B&N going out of business?
**Yet another** B&N app that doesn’t do the things you need an app to do. Really only useful for comparing prices to see if you want to go to their website the next time you sit down at a computer (because the mobile site is a mess, too). So they closed most of their stores, making it highly unlikely you’ll purchase a physical book. And they decided to have **multiple** apps - but where none of them will let you purchase digital content? And logins are unreliable, and the app loses your cart, and it’s buggy, too! So now we have a couple useless nooks with no easy way to get digital content. And you have to drive an hour to experience the in-person equivalent of an airport gift shop? No thanks!! Are the developers closely related to the CEO or something? Any other business would treat this as a 5-alarm fire and demand a functional and integrated app “before the Christmas shopping season”, yet this has been a mess for years. B&N has been playing around like time and money mean nothing to them. Must be nice, but they can’t push people away forever. I’ll be shocked if B&N exists in a year. So sad. Family loved shopping in their stores back when they were plentiful and large and fun. B&N… we’ll miss you!

This app compelling me to write my first app review….
I think this app has worked one single day ever since I downloaded it. That’s it. That’s the review. I spend too much at B&N for this 😭 Just let me browse and buy things!!! Sometimes it just crashes every time you open it. Sometimes it logs you out every time you click anything. Sometimes you actually manage to keep the app open and account logged in, but then it refuses to load anything. One notable time, over $1000 worth of random books were added to my cart and THEN I was booted from the app leading me to think I’d been hacked. So that was fun. I truly do not understand how non-functioning this app continues to be. Do we not see that under two star average rating? Can we pls fix this app? So I can buy your books? Thanks so much xoxo

Login issues
The app won’t log me in or will log me in for a moment before booting me out again. I want to make a purchase and literally can’t load my cart where I added everything I wanted to get. I also can’t access my rewards because of this. This is frustrating and encourages me to go elsewhere where prices are lower anyway. Additionally, search functions as well as product display would benefit from improvement.

Used to work, now it just spins
I can literally (and have) cook and eat an entire meal and this app will still be trying to log in. It’s not a server issue because the Barnes & Noble website works just fine, not a wifi issue as the issue persists when I use cell data only or I’m on a different network, not cell signal issue as the issue persists on cell data only where other apps work fine, it’s even a bad install issue as the issue persists when the app is uninstalled and reinstalled. This app used to work just fine and somewhere along the line an update broke something. Also, on the rare occasions I’ve been able to log in on the app, the search also just spins.

Wow. Worst app I’ve ever had.
We went to Barnes and Noble today and it was such a fun store. I figured I would start getting some ideas for Christmas gifts so I downloaded the app hoping to be able to make wishlists or something. That option is not available. THE WORST THING is that it doesn’t load properly! Unless you stay on the exact page your on. If you go out of the app and try to come Back in, it won’t load images or it will automatically take you to your empty cart and then I can’t click to get back to what I was looking at. So the solution is to clear the app go back in and find where I was at. This app absolutely needs to get fixed.

Don’t bother
I never write reviews for apps but this has got to be the single worst app I’ve ever used. It doesn’t matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall or restart my phone, there’s no getting past the sign in screen. I log in and it just spins and spins and never goes anywhere. I assumed I had a password issue so I tried using the password reset option. That did absolutely nothing but flicker the screen at me. “Enter as Guest”? Yeah that button doesn’t work either. And it has been like this for at least a week if not longer. Thankfully the website works on my computer, but this app is completely pointless.

Login Issues
I love this app so much! And I love reading. But lately when I go to my Barnes & Noble app, it just randomly appears to have me signed out. I never signed myself out and I go into the app multiple times a week. So there’s no reason for it to sign me out if I was “inactive” because I wasn’t. Then, when the app login finally works, the pages never load and I can’t search for a book or author. I have an account and a membership with rewards and Barnes is my safe place, I would like to keep it this way.

The most bugged app on the store
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a single good review of this app. My main problem with the app is that it NEVER works when I’m on a WiFi connection. Not on my home WiFi not on ANY WiFi connection and will only work when I use my data and that’s incredibly annoying. I can’t browse the store or log in to my account unless I’m on data and if I switch over to WiFi while logged in the app will just stop working. I’ve redownloaded it multiple times seeing if maybe it was just me but this has been an issue no matter how many times I’ve redownloaded the app.

Unusable
I bought three books, the checkout process logged me out and cleared my cart several times during the ordeal. After a few refreshes, it would appear again. As soon as I finally placed my order it showed that my gift message wasn’t added nor was the gift wrap on only one of the books. I submitted an email to customer service after I clicked send in the help center - page went completely white so who knows if they actually got it or not. Embarrassing amount of errors for a company this big. Please invest in UX designer………. Probably also several dozen delivers.

Terrible.
I’ve never seen an app so horrid for a company so large. How has this been allowed to remain like this? The developers have asked me to provide details, as, apparently they can’t determine this for themselves based on the other thousand negative reviews. The app is illogically organized, inefficient, freezes constantly, erases carts randomly, is unbelievably slow, and does not seem to be created by someone who has ever read a book or been to a store, either online or in-person. I have known 7th graders that would do a better job on this. Is this enough information? What else do you need?

App Rarely Opens Correctly
The app is as bad as the website. Enter your password or use your bio-password/face recognition and it just spins continuously with no end result and no way to access wishlists, shop, etc. Sadly it is spotty at best. Feels like the website that always shows some dumb downed version saying your browser is out of date, when it isn’t. I get it’s difficult to support all browser types with constant updates, and some do work well, but now the app too? Will absolutely change the rating opinion once the tech is actually consistently user friendly.

So disappointing!
This is probably the worst app I’ve ever used. In an age where technology is everything and everywhere, it’s extremely frustrating to have an app that is basically useless. For the past several weeks when I go into the app, it logs me out every single time and I have to log back in. Additionally, it’s not even loading any content or books and just says “page not found”. I’ve had so many issues with B&N in terms of the app and shipping and orders, it’s so disappointing. At this point it’s just taking up space in my phone and that’s about it.

App fails to log me in
I routinely log into the app and suddenly face recognition won’t work and the app won’t accept my password. Then the app tells me I need to reset my password. After numerous attempts the app tells me I have made too many attempts and I need to wait X amount of minutes. Long story short, I had to log onto the B&N website to reset the password which works fine now. The app accepts the new password and then sits on continue and won’t log me in. I love B&N but I use the app for all of my business with you. Fix this problem or you’ll loose my business.

Barely works
As others have posted, I’m having log in issues. I never sign out as I use the app multiples times in a week, but I can almost never get signed back in. I always get redirected to the sign in page. I’ve done face authentication and even logging in my email and password. Nothing. When it does work, the pages won’t load at all and eventually I get logged out AGAIN. It’s been like this for months and the developers acknowledged the issues and claim that they’re constantly working on it, but nothing has changed.

Constant glitching
Constant glitches & bugs. When scrolling through a list, it will randomly glitch and send you to a random point pretty far up the list & if you try to keep scrolling it’ll just keep sending you to the same spot. It’ll log you out & refuse to let you log back in, every time you try it’ll load and then send you back to the sign in as member or guest screen. Very frustrating to use do not recommend, I’d rather just use the website on my browser even thought it’s less convenient.

No more mobile cafe ordering
Mobile café ordering was nearly the only function I ever used the app for and now that they have removed this without notice to their customers, I feel extremely disappointed. I used this often! I recently spent a lot of time searching for the cafe order function, thinking I was going crazy and not seeing it after an update. I had to find out from searching Reddit. Not cool.

Crappy new update
I enjoyed this app for a while because i used it to order starbucks in the mall however since the newest update it has takes my cafe option off and i can no longer do that. this is pretty inconvenient because i don’t use it bc i’m lazy i do it because when on my lunch break, i do not have the time to sit and wait for my order to be made. I need y’all to bring my cafe option back.

Always Buggy
If it isn’t the slow loading times that have nothing to do with my internet connection (other apps are fine), then it’s the constant login loop which ends with me having to choose Guest mode to see anything, or the clunky UI. Why in the world you don’t have a dedicated account/profile link at the bottom navigation is weird, too. You have to navigate to Home and hope that you weren’t in an active search there to go to your account page.

Shuts down constantly
Everytime I use the app it freezes and then kicks me out. I close out the app and try logging back in and it returns me to the sign in page every single time. It’s extremely frustrating. I can’t make a purchase, I can’t even reliably browse. It’s also slow to load anything on a good day. If B&N wasn’t a huge retailer I wouldn’t care. If you’re a monopoly in an industry and yet you can’t make a workable app then don’t have one at all. It honestly just comes off as lazy.

Honestly not good
The app regular doesn’t work correctly even when up to date. Searches often reveal no results even when picking authors from their own books pages. Frequently logs my account out, slow searches. More often than not it’s better to just use the website rather than the app.

Constant Issues
It’s so slow, I’m constantly being logged out in the middle of using the app, and sometimes it won’t event let me log in to begin with. I’m so annoyed since I have all my books on my wishlist and it makes it impossible to access my list. They are a massive corporation so I’m unsure how they don’t have a little budget to pay for the app to just function. I don’t even leave reviews for most things let alone an app but I am so fed up. Less than one star if possible.

More bug issues need to be fixed
Previously, you could access this app and order books for in-store pickup. However, you can no longer sign in, as the app just spools without actually logging you in. This is incredibly frustrating, as you can no longer place those convenient book orders. Furthermore, other users have reported the same issue, yet the problem remains unresolved for months with no updates from the developers.

Worst App Ever
I am not a review writer. I either have to have the best experience or the worst to take the time to write a review. This app falls under the absolute worst. Face ID is useless it goes through the motions of Face ID as if to sign you in but you just end up back at the login screen. Can’t even get into the app. I’ve never seen anything like it. Please fix the issues with your app. Start over if you have to. I’ve already uninstalled & re-installed the app. It’s the app not its users.

Useless app
From your nook app, get this app to purchase. Get this app, try purchasing ebook and get “This app does not support purchases”. So basically you have no app to purchase nook ebooks, other than web purchases. Get with the time. You want e-commerce, but don't have any app for that other than an actual NOOk. My Nook version is no longer supported, so what are the chances of me purchasing books without 1usable app from you. If I could give you No stars, yes less that 1 star I would.

What’s going on?
It wouldn’t let me finish making an account so I continued as a guest and nothing works?? No page works, all of them say they can’t load or anything. It’s not wifi because I’m using everything else perfectly fine. I had the old app, it told me to download the new one so I did. I just wanted to check the price of a book, but I guess not. This is terrible and seeing that everyone is having issues is not a good sign.

It works until it doesn’t
Overall the app works enough for my needs until the app freaks out. I enjoy the convenience of having Apple Pay as an option however, either it can’t load items in my cart or like today won’t even let me in the app. Very frustrating.

Pretty useless :(
I haven’t even been able to open the app in about 3 months. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, changed the password, and even gotten a new phone within that time and I still can’t even open it. It’s pretty annoying. I used to use the Cafe option in the app all the time, not to mention check my rewards progress and look to see if a book was in stock, now the app is garbage. Please fix. :(

Don’t order from Barnes and noble App
This app has limited functionality. I attempted to order a technical book. There were two formats. Paperback and ebook. Paperback had a price but ebook did not. The site said” Digital purchasing is not supported on this app. Books purchased from Barnes & Noble or a NOOK device are available to read in the Nook app.” So I purchased the book because it did not say you needed to go to the Barnes and noble site. I expected then to be able to see the purchase in the nook. This obviously did not happen. I feel the site should have said go to the Barnes and noble “website” to purchase the ebook. Now I know but this statement should be reworded. I will be sending paperback book as soon as I receive it

I love B&N, but the app alone makes me not not shop there when I want. It’s not worth having to deal with the crashes all the time and being logged out and just overall NEVER WORKING. I’ll just order my books from somewhere else to avoid having to deal with this. For such a big company, you’d think they could afford to have an app that works. Also… their website isn’t really any better :/

Still having issues. Still kicks me out. This is garbage. Can’t look anything up. Can’t resent my membership info. What the heck is going on over there. It’s not that hard to build an app that freaking works. Stop logging out every time. Make ship to store an option. Accept my address. Why is it Impossible to purchase an ebook for nook ?
I loved my nook when it first came out . But B&N has gone so far downhill there is almost no way to get lower. I just tried to purchase some ebooks for my Nook. How do we add to our nook library ? Every Nook site I go to says it's not able to add an ebook to library ? What has happened to this formerly great store ? They say they are adding all kinds of physical stores ? App will not open
Please fix your app. I was currently signed in looking at books to purchase and the app kicked me out and closed. I go to sign back in trying to use both my Face ID and username/password neither worked. The page has the icon in the middle spin in a circle like it is going to open and it being me back to the main page to either sing in or continue as guest.

Such a slow app
I love shopping at B&N but this app makes it difficult. The app works so slow. Being able to get anything done on here is difficult. Just updating anything on your account takes a while and browsing is even difficult.

Always so full of bugs it doesn’t work
If I could give 0 stars I would. Why even have an app if it isn’t going go work or be sluggish 90% of the time? I’m tired of being kicked out or trying to view books and it won’t work. I don’t care what kind of promotion you’re running, I’ll go shop online elsewhere if I have to fight your app every other time I use it.

App won’t even let you log in
After the last recent updates I have not been able to log into my account at all. I have a gift card on my Apple Pay that can be used in the app but I can’t get logged in. I have uninstalled the app multiple times (like the developers have recommended) to no avail. Would really like to order my birthday present 🫣

Disappointing app
You would think for such a large company, the app would be better. At least it’s slightly less clunky with the new version, but I still can’t sign in, even with deleting and redownloading the app. Since I can’t sign in, the books I save in my cart will at some random point completely disappear, so I’m not able to order them.

The app keeps logging me out
The app keeps logging me out and won’t allow me to log back in. My email and password are correct but when I select continue it just takes me back to the sign in/create account screen. Any time I try to get on the app it is like this and I can’t make a purchase. It’s so frustrating. Just bring back the old app already.

Doesn’t work more than it works
I had no issues for a few months, but now it tells me “page not found.” So, I uninstalled and the reinstalled. Now, it won’t allow me to log in and when I try to use it as a guest, it again tells me “page not found.” I’d love to say it’s user error, but even my husband, who codes for a living, says it’s buggy.

Constant issues staying logged in
I am frequently logged out in the middle of trying to make purchases or even searching for products to add to cart. It is so frustrating to even try using this app that is supposed to make shopping through B&N easier but only ever seems to make things more difficult.

Can’t buy off the app
I can’t buy ebooks off the app and the website constantly is not working and says I need to update internet explorer even when I am not on it. I have completed all the updates available and still get the message. It is a shame I cannot go hear to buy my ebooks and have to use kindle instead.

Horrible
As an avid reader and a fan of sales I rely on apps like this to do my shopping. This app always logs me out then never wants to log me back in. Always slow and can’t seem to remember my password even if I’ve changed it. The app crashes and it’s so incredibly slow. This app needs to be updated and they need to do better.
