After scoring perfect scores on the practice test multiple times I was confident. But the real test has different questions and worded different so make sure to have other study materials. Other than that it’s a good app.

7 years later and I still have to mail the CAV Decal application and a check! I haven’t written or sent a check in years. Wake up DMV! Not to mention the fact that I have to wait 30 days for the new EV lease registration and license to arrive before I can apply for the new decal and then another 30 days to receive that, so I can’t drive my new EV in HOV lanes for about 2 months. It’s frustrating. This process is archaic. They need to offer a temporary decal. The DMV has been in need of a serious overhaul for years (maybe privatized). They have no vision or understanding of what’s needed or how to keep up with the current times. And that “CA DMV Wallet” app is a joke. I’ve been waiting for them to offer the iOS Wallet CDL like other states for ever. Another failure. Gavin Newsom - do something.

It took me a minute to set everything up, but I can access my current CDL, my ID that expired in 2002 (and I no longer need but can still see), and every vehicle registered to me and all the registration info. This is such an awesome app, I am blown away. You can do so many things from this app, there’s almost no reason at all to go to a DMV office. I haven’t seen if you can upload documents yet, but I already have my Real ID so it’s not a problem. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU California DMV!!

I’m not sure if the app has improved or the one star ratings were actually just end user issues. I have an iPhone 7 with the latest updates and the app opens, practice test options are available for all of the licenses. I tried the Class C practice exam 1x without issue, before recommending the app to my daughter. I found the app to be a very useful tool as did my daughter.

I took all 25 test and I passed my permit test! I credit it all to this app. I read the DMV booklet but it was really boring and hard to retain the information. So instead I stopped reading the book and instead started taking the test and I passed the permit test! Thank you for creating this free app! I appreciate it a lot!!! 💗😊

Entered all information to change an address and in the “Show me how” link it doesn’t let you return to continue. No way to close the “show me how” pop-up and you must exit the transaction in order to proceed, which deletes all your information/progress and you must start from scratch. Way to go DMV! Going to use the web browser version instead to avoid headaches (who knows if that will work...)

Not a great website lets you go all the way through the transaction to put your renewal registration in the cart and then it won’t let you pay. DMV really needs to fix their website because it’s worthless. If you want to pay your registration online on the day it’s due or even a few days before hand.

I really do love this app it helped me a lot but How come that now I can’t take any of the practice text it just loads a blank screen and I deleted the app and downloaded it again and nothing so are you guys trying to update something or i don’t know what it is

I had taken my permit test today and I had seen atleast 15 questions I hadn’t seen in the coarse of 6 months of studying and I was very disappointed. The apps I had used were dmv genie and some other app. So so so dissatisfied with there app

I would recommend this because it helps me to practice with my permit and there were no glitches when went to this app!

I’ve taken my dmv written test, last week and the questions are completely different compared to the ones on the test. However, both the dmv site and dmv app needs to be updated to be more accurate.

It would be great if they could put every single question to answer in the practice test instead of always repeating the stuff you’ve answered around the end of it.

Took several tries before it would take me to the registration page. When I finally got information added and added to cart it would not take me to the cart. Tried again and it told me it was already in cart but no way to get to cart. Garbage app. Use web site and avoid frustration.

I took the written test today and none of the practice questions on the app are on the test. I mean at all this app is trash. It’s outdated and 2 years behind in knowledge. Just read the book at least 2 times and you’ll be good. If I hadn’t read the book I would’ve failed. Good luck on your test.

All the functions are web based and take you the DMV’s website regardless. Seems pointless. A nice feature would be to integrate renewals (ie driver license, registration, etc) into the app with customizable notifications when you need to renew. Seems underbaked. Glad our tax dollars are going to good use!

I would never have imagined a worse experience than going to the DMV in person. This app said hold my beer and doubled down on making the experience as bad as possible. I will be waiting inline with my book tomorrow instead of using this app. 1 Star. Would not Recommend.

Can’t even open the app anymore it’s a waste of storage on your phone my gf also can’t open it on her phone either so you incompetent mfrs better get to making an app that actually works especially if it’s the official dmv app how is it actually this bad

Slow and clunky, but maybe it will get better over time.

Taken my permit test today.. questions were completely different and it was outdated, I am very grateful I was able to pass my permit test. So that's why it's 3 stars.

I downloaded this app on iPhone to practice the tests. It doesn't work. No matter where I go the screen is blank. Nothing comes up. I've tried several times, different days, with wifi, without wifi and just kept my 4g on and it never worked for me. What a waste of time!

Like the context itself ain’t bad but starting up the app is frustrating. Like most of the time it would not start up and sometimes it does. It just be freezing once I tap on practice exam

After downloading the app, it will not open in my iPhone 14. After turning the phone on and off several times, and deleting the app from the phone and re-downloading it, it still does not open.

I downloaded the app in order to do try to report a stolen license plate and request a new plate, but the application does not launch anything in the online section. Not very useful.

The home screen and main menu is the only thing that worked in this app. Anytime I clicked one of the links it would either go to a blank screen or when I clicked the office finder it will crash every time.

It's impossible to make an appointment through the app. After I finish my application for a permits test, the screen goes completely white and I have to restart everything again.

I’d rate it a 5 but I wanted to switch the language to Spanish for my mother and there was no option for that.

The find office map isn’t showing up, fix it please.

This app and all of its features are completely useless on iphones with the latest iOS updates. Do not download until the developer issues and updated version of this app.

I paid $2 for driver record but was unable to view or print it, if one can not view or print the the record why even ask to pay for it on the app, feels like a scam

I used this test to practice for my drivers license renewal but when I went to take the test I learned that not one question was on the test. I told the clerk at motor vehicle and she told me that the test had not been updated. What a waste of time.

I downloaded this app to help me study for my permit. Surprise surprise! The questions on the actual written test were NOTHING like the questions here. Don’t waste your guys’ time with this app. Don’t even download it. It won’t help.

I literally just took my test and I failed I can’t believe this app gives me different questions than the computer gave me!!! I can’t believe this. This app should be deleted smh

Sort of a worthless app if you're looking for wait times as they are completely off. Went early and the app said it was a 10 minute wait time, ended up waiting for 2 hours.

I took the dmv exam and I fail 19/36 right and 17 wrong answers. Theses 17 questions were never shown in the practice exam test. If you to pass on your first try, read the book instead.

I gave 1 star because I had to give something otherwise today I’d rate this app with 0 stars! The app won’t open. Keeps crashing. Wondering if this is DMV’s way to collect late fees 🤷‍♀️

I downloaded this three times, each time it wouldn’t even let me open it just kept crashing…

It was working great then it stopped working. Everything I click is either a blank screen or forces closed. I’ve redownloaded and it still does it.

As screwed up as everything in California. Can’t get it to open. Blank screens.

I stopped using this when I tried to pay for my car registration but a third-party company wanted my credit card information for an additional fee 🤨

I’ve been trying to do a title transfer on the app, and it’s forced closed, not let me type, and exits out of my screen numerous times. Just go online

The app crashes whenever is try to find a location. Nothing loads when I click on any of the menu options.

DONT USE THIS APP it’s outdated and none of the question are on the test I just took my dmv test right now to find out there’s barely like three questions somewhat close to what’s in the app don’t download this app !

No search function. Won’t even store your log in information.

The questions must be at least 2 years old. None of them are useful. It’s a waste of time if you are prepping for the exam. Don’t bother unless you need dmv locations in CA.

You guys need to do something this app keeps crashing, it was working fine a few weeks ago now nothing

App is four years old and when I click the icon it doesn’t even open the app, just closes back out, WHY EVEN HAVE AN APP!!

On many sections if you try to fill out an application or make an appointment with a dmv office it will just freeze up instead.
