Has great benefits, I get cash back on almost every purchase, at checkout they automatically check for coupons to get you the best price possible. I made 2 purchases, checked my app and I saw that I had a $40 coupon to a store of my choice! You can also split the coupons between stores if you want too. My favorite part is when the capital one app noticing some things you were shopping for they tell you exact what cash back you would be getting on that purchase. For example I was looking at some new balances, the original price is 155 they gave me an offer for 30% cash back on that purchase! Sometimes being nosey is a good thing, they can track whatever websites I’m in as long as they saving me some funds! Sign up right now to get your $10 bonus! Run don’t walk
As a previous review said it’s not great when shopping on your phone as many of us do. I am still able to shop in my apps to receive my rewards/points etc. I just make sure I am logged in and then I log into the accounts I am shopping in through capital one shopping. It’s an extra step that takes seconds so it doesn’t bother me. Your points etc will still be there. I find it is better to use the capital one shopping app while shopping on your iPhone. I installed the browser on my phone but it doesn’t seem to work most of the time even when I open it directly from the search bar. I have missed out on hundreds of dollars in rewards because of this. I try to remember to open the COS app now when I shop. I also find the rewards tend to be higher for some reason directly through the app than on the iPhone browser extension. I have done well with rewards and discounts. It would be nice if they could fix this issue but I still absolutely believe it is worth it. I have no issue with the browser extension on my computer. I have saved a couple thousand dollars since I began using COS even with the ones that didn’t go through. I also feel very safe using it. I am an extra cautious person so it took months of reading about it before I gave it a try. I’m so glad I did. Do yourself a favor and download this app. You will be too.
Never records my purchase even though it he shopping trip is recorded; despite following every single step then quadruple checking to make sure. Customer service just will send a generic auto response to wait 60 days (yes I know the cash back /funds won’t be released for up to 60-90 days depending on purchase. But you know within the week if the transaction /shopping trip was recorded and it never is. Maybe 1 out of every 10x. I have iPhone so idk if it’s only iOS users that have this issue but it’s extremely frustrating. Not even worth chancing it anymor. Just Stick to another cash back site for the sake of saving money and your sanity. Capital one shopping needs to get better customer service and address these app issues. It’s funny that it also never works whenever there is a good cash back deal too. Very convenient for them. I’ve been using sporadically for about 7 months now. I honestly don’t know why I try. Developers have plenty of emails of people sending in issues but don’t acknowledge any of them. I have missed out on 498$ on cash back. Not that they will even read this or give a hoot. GO ELSEWHERE! Esp if you use iOS.
Capital One Shopping obviously listens to feedback but they have only been able to improve the service incrementally. My shopping trips are only logged correctly I would say 70% of the time. Some retailers work better than others. It’s impossible to know if your shopping rewards will be properly logged. If you reach out and ask for further information you will get back bullet points that basically say they aren’t responsible for anything, anything is possible, and that if it doesn’t work then you should have known beforehand but at the same time there is no way to know if it will work. So basically a bunch of hogwash to not take responsibility for tricking people into thinking they will get cash back. If you don’t understand what I just wrote then that’s pretty much on par with trying to understand how this application works. This is simply not good enough coming from such a large banking institution. They should either improve the service or completely redo it so it becomes transparent and honest.
What I love most is that I don’t have to remember codes, or promos. I also don’t have to remember what places Capital One is with so that I can get the benefits of shopping multiple places. Just another reason I love this card. I’ve had it for a couple years and I have not ever been disappointed. Keep up the good work. I hope this company doesn’t get complacent. All businesses seem to get that way and everything goes downhill. Everything from the benefits to the customer service is wonderful.
This company, if you don’t have a bank nearby can be a nightmare trying to deposit or move large sums of money. I had to get a broken AC unit fixed in my house and getting the money transferred has been a month long nightmare. Their customer service has made me wait an entire month without air conditioning to redeposit my own cashiers check back into my bank account, because the HVAC technician’s bank couldn’t accept it for whatever reason. Not to mentioned it cost $20 to just receive the check, and $10 to mail it back to them. They told me it would be 5 business until the money was in my account. Surprise, surprise. It wasn’t in my account and of course they didn’t follow up. The package with my check in it had to be signed, and it was according to the tracking, however they claim to not have any records of it being received. So, now they have to do an entire investigation pushing this back EVEN further while I sit here without my $8,000 dollars because of their incompetence. I’m switching banks the second I get my money back.
I was excited to download the app for the apps premise (I’m and avid shopper) but pushed to do it faster for the $10 bonus you can claim. It has you go through all these steps before you can claim the $10. I downloaded the app, had it as an extension of safari, allowed access, etc. But then it said that I needed to transfer to a desktop and basically do the whole thing on there in order to claim the $10. I gave away my desktop as I only use my phone for shopping. I can’t thing of a time I went on a desktop computer to shop. And of course you don’t find out until the very end that you do not qualify for the measly $10 until you do all the steps. I hate these types of deceptive user experiences. I had to delete app and take away access from everything. I feel like I would have loved to use the app, but these experiences always leave a sour taste.
I don’t want to waste more time than I already wasted trying to get this app to work. There are many signs of cheap engineering labor: It’s not engineered well enough to deal with users having a variety of devices and browser settings, and to guide the user. The design and layout of the intro screens looks like some engineer just slapped it up without proper requirements. It probably means a product manager and a UX/UI designer were absent or disregarded. The multitude of typos on those same screens says a fully fluent English-speaking copy editor was absent or disregarded. The obviously crummy layout and failure to function in common use cases says a software QA team was absent, unqualified, or disregarded. My guess is there’s no real product, UX/UI, copywriting, or QA team, and the engineers weakly test and quickly approve their own stuff. Bet CapitalOne pays very good money for this 3rd party app developer, though.
I tried using the app and shopping websites through it to get there “cash back”. But never got it. Then I realize that this app is NOT associated with capital one credit card, so they don’t share the same customer service or phone number and capital one credit card won’t show the “cash back” on your credit cards. So the capital one shopping app it’s is own entity, they are they ones that will give you the rewards through a 3 party after you wait 30-90 days if you ever get it. It won’t even show your purchase from history or reward history, you would have to just wait it out 30-90 days. Plus! This app does not have a customer service number to call, it’s only a pathetic email! I feel soooo betrayed, this company shouldn’t be named capital one if it’s not even part of the real company. I highly don’t recommend
I’ve been using capital one shopping for 4 years now and I can’t count the amount of times I’ve needed to contact customer support for not paying out shipping trips and only twice has someone responded. I have followed all instructions and even use my phone app only for purchases vs my computer because they said that originally was the problem. My final straw was the 24% cash back on Macys and support reported my trip as $44 spent when I had confirmation of spending over $300. So instead of getting $80 cash back, they gave me $10. While Rakuten offers less cash back you’ll at least be guaranteed to actually get the cash back. I’m done with capital one. It’s not worth the hassle and headache and then not getting cash back rewards. I’ll take 1% on Rakuten over a guaranteed 0% on Capital One.
People do a lot of shopping on their phones, it does not work with the iPhone merchant phone apps which is ridiculous. I was trying to use it to purchase from Ulta. I don’t want to check out in a browser when I have everything in my cart on the app. It’s not efficient to have to log in again in a browser and add everything to your cart for a second time. Then I also don’t get my mobile coupon, so I’m spending more money. I don’t understand why capital one can’t give you the rewards directly? They can see where you have made purchases. This is not an iPhone friendly application. It’s too much extra work for a little reward. It is fine if you are only shopping on a computer. Very dissatisfied.
I have had two occasions where Capital One Shopping put forth an offer and then broke it. 1) I made a purchase under an offer exclusively tendered to me by Capital One Shopping about a product I had been watching. After meeting all the terms and making the purchase through their app, the trip never appeared and the reward was never issued. My requests to the help line have ultimately been ignored. 2) on another occasion I made a purchase through the app and they tried to pull a fast one. The pending reward appears during the shopping trip at the top corner of the app. After I hit confirm purchase, the number changed on the confirmation screen to a lower value. There are also multiple times where their service merely misses any discountable options.
Saving money and didn’t even know I had a coupon for it
I love capital one shopping!!! It’s easy it’s convenient and what I really love. Is that how it pops up when you’re ordering something and about to pay and it runs all these different codes and I’ve saved a significant amount of money since I’ve had the app only a few months. I would recommend this to anyone and I actually do believe it or not. my daughter and friends are using it. Thank you so much!!!
The app is okay. I like it because they generally have higher cash back percentage compared to Rakuten, and it has coupon codes you can try too. But what I don’t like is it takes a long time to actually get the cash back. Sometimes it takes 5 days or a long as 2-3 months for the cash back to show up. During that time it’ll show as pending. Rakuten is usually pretty quick about it. I don’t mind the gift card redemption, but more options would be nice, or maybe the ability to send the cash back to a capital one account, whether it be a checking or savings, even a credit card.
Capital One kept insisting that I download their shopping app to redeem $10 on Shopping. I opted out of doing so. When I went onto the Mercari app to purchase an item, once again CapitalOne insisted that I try the shopping app and redeem $10. This time I did. I downloaded the CapitalOne Shopping app into my Safari. I followed all instructions as prompted. After my account was set up and ready to use it showed that I had a zero dollar balance. Instead of receiving the $10 Capital One claimed you will receive after following prompts, shown another notification that claims it will give you the $10 after you install it on your computer instead. If you ask me, it sounds like one of those petty lawsuits you could win.
Since I put Capital One in my search engine (I’m not really sure that’s what it’s called), but I’ve almost always reduced the price I’m paying for an item because Capital One automatically finds coupons & discounts that I never thought of. It saves me significantly above what I would ordinarily save. I just don’t have to search for discounts offered. Capital One finds them and uses them on any purchase I choose. I’m so much better with it than I was without it.
If you look up other experiences with this app on places like Reddit, you’ll find many people who have found it doesn’t work. I made a shopping trip and it didn’t register it at all. I have used similar apps like rakuten with success but this one honestly feels scammy. It’s weird to me that this app has 4.9 stars with this type of technology. Edit: I’ve reached out to support, as Capitol One suggested when responding to this review. The support was unhelpful. They just send a canned response that rewards can take 90 days to appear. Which wasn’t my question. There is currently no indication my account has captured the two trips I completed. Or that I’ll be credited for the bonus from adding this as a Safari extension.
Literally used it once on a big trip and didn’t receive my rewards. It says to wait at least 6 months and once it got to 8 months I called capital one asking where my money was. They said that capital one shopping is separate and the only WH to contact them is email. I finally got ahold of someone and they couldn’t even tell me why I hadn’t gotten my money or how to avoid the situation In the future which leads me to believe they were just never planning on giving me my money back! So dumb. And on top of that you can only use your reward money to spend on a handful of gift cards from select places. So you don’t even get to do what you want with your own money?
I have been a Capital One credit card user for a very long time. And although the interest is a bit high they have always solved any issues and have done it (no questions). The customer service is very personable and professional which I feel is worth the money, no hassles. I strongly recommend Capital One. If your trying to get your credit score higher than Capital One is the best option. Thank You Capital One
Poor customer support & trips don’t log correct in app
I was excited about using the app after my friends had a great experience with it. Initially, the app was logging my trips and I was receiving rewards. Lately, my trips have not being showing up and places i have not been showed up on account. I reached out to customer service and they were not helpful. They kept saying I didn’t go to the app or someone has access to my account, which they don’t. It’s not worth working with them to let fix a problem with the app. Rakuten is easier to use and I get better service. I have used them for several years. Save time and use them.
I was told I’d get a $10 reward for downloading the app and adding it to safari. I did not. I also made a purchase, got no bonus for purchasing as it said. There’s no contact number, I submitted a ticket to assist with the missing bonuses. The got a message that said “make a purchase to receive a bonus.” Completely disregarded the fact that I had already made a purchase and it has been a substantial amount of time with no bonus, and did not comment on the $10 bonus that still wasn’t in my account. I’ve clicked every button that says “get your $10 bonus!” Then takes me to the app and nothing. They make it impossible to get these rewards.
You gotta love it, you gotta use it. It’s so easy. I have it on my iPad Pro which I use when I do most of my online shopping. When I go to an online store it pops up and gives me the best coupons it can find for me. I’ve been using it for several months and I’m always surprised at how much money it saves. It’s fast and I double check when I checkout so I know the discount is really there! Very cool.
The functionality is buggy at best. It look a week off going around and around with support for 1 of 2 rewards credits I was owed. Other than the copy/paste answers they provided that didn’t solve the problem, I was told not to even navigate other tabs in my browser when checking out as that could also invalidate my rewards from the purchase I was making. Rewards also take almost 90 days to process and can only be redeemed on a limited range of gift cards that are available in their portal. Pulling teeth for less than $10 in rewards in 4 months isn’t worth it.
I think this app is a neat concept, however it does not track purchases well. I make a lot of purchases on Ebay and some of the other advertised sites only to find out this site is not tracking all of the purchases - it is not even registering the visits at all! I am missing rewards/transactions as well as the initial sign up bonus of $10 dols (I followed the instructions on the app). I think I will be switching back to using AAdvantage, they offer me miles p/dollar spent rather than a few cents here and there, as this app is not tracking the bigger purchases but rather the smaller purchases I have made.
As with many other Capital One customers, this app just will not sync with our Capital One account app. It seems that this iPhone version does not work and they recommend using a laptop to use this program. Makes this app useless. A better idea would be to make this app something we can click into from our primary Cap One account app. Problem solved. Why is it always so impossible to just sync/login? We love our Apple Face ID and fingerprint login technology but Cap One must be focusing on lower end Windows users (we hated carrying a notebook of passwords for Windows and all of the viruses and conflicts). Would be great if this app was functional and we could actually use it.
So far Capital One gets my vote, we used this to book our trip to Nashville for our Hotel stay. It popped up automatically and showed a fair sizable reward for booking, so I clicked and long story short there must have been a glitch because it didn’t take. Needless to say Nathaly from Capital One shopping made it right for us. So highly recommend this extension to anyone who wants to save some $, put this one your computer or phone and it automatically finds deals or coupons for you.
I love the way that this app shows up on my buying app even if I’m only just window shopping because if I decide to purchase something the % is already calculated for me and all I have to do is click to buy the item and I’ll get that discount immediately and I don’t have to think it through or wait for the discount in the mailbox. What a step up from my shopping experience.
This app is amazing, when go to any site to make a purchase it will put in the coupon for additional savings. I went to one site to purchase make up for my daughter. I purchased $1600 worth of makeup in addition to the discount that was offered this app found a coupon for an additional 30% off so I was able to purchase, this make up for only $350.
I have tried to use this app a couple times. This time I read the privacy information in more detail. In providing information, it asked for a password. I realized it was asking for an active password from a Shopping service. I do not care to share my passwords with anyone, let alone an organization that will share information with others. Perhaps I read it wrong, but I couldn’t find anything that would explain it more clearly. If I need to share my passwords to use this app, I’d rather not use it.
I have been using Capital One Shopping for a while now and overall, when everything works it’s great. However, I made a purchase 6 weeks ago that had an error so I got the wrong percentage back. I have contacted them now 5 times regarding the matter, 3 times within the past 10 days and no response whatsoever. It’s incredible that I have to struggle this hard and resort to commenting on the application to even have my voice heard (MAYBE). I have a Capital One credit card and will more than likely be canceling my account if my problem is not corrected.
I have tried several times over and over again. I have an apple iPhone 12 and I cannot get the $10 bonus. I’ve added the app I have added Safari. I’ve done everything and I never get the bonus. I’ve had several issues when using this app and I’m learning that because I have an iPhone perhaps things should be updated to be better equipped for an iPhone when majority of people usually have iPhones, but I don’t even use the app anymore because of all the errors.
This is awesome. I have been ordering something and it just pops up to let me know I can sign in and get the discount. It watches discounts for me! Capital One offers amazing perks for having an online account. Credit advise. All of it right on. Worked in that industry 44 years. Recommend the checking and all the free perks, like Credit Wise where you can always see your credit score.
I had a button pop up on my capital one app saying you’ll get $10 for downloading the app and adding it to safari. I added the extension, made an account, followed all the directions and no $10 bonus. It’s been a week. Just called capital one and they said they don’t even know what this promo is and there’s no contact number for capital one shopping since it’s not even officially part of capital one. Whole thing seems like a way to get your browsing, personal and shopping data. Complete scam. Do not download if you wanted the bonus. There is no bonus.
Rewards take FOREVER to become available like 8 weeks or more. Screenshot any offers as they will pay you 0.5 % and say that was the reward. I was enticed to buy concert tickets with the promise of 22.5% back as a reward. They rewarded me with 38 cents (.5%) and when I asked customer service about it they said they couldn’t help until the reward were made available to use in 8 weeks… They send you a lot of emails as with offers as well but they don’t honor them.
So easy and convenient! I’ve downloaded so many different saving apps, but this one actually works and the best part is I don’t even have to think about it. I just downloaded, signed up and everytime I’m buying something off a website it automatically loads the coupons/discounts and that’s it!
I will admit, I have not used this app at all. But lease listen to what I have to say. Recently, I have been told to read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service in app such as these. I read the Privacy Policy. Don’t get this app!! It takes ALL of your personal info like where you live and your credits that you may earn. It also takes information FROM YOUR EMAILS. Like, who you’re getting emails from, their email address and many other things like what websites are being used, things you’ve sent to other people over email. This is not safe. Imagine what they could do to our personal information! Privacy Policy as of March 2, 2020.
Capital one makes online shopping the only way to go!
I’m so glad I have CapitalOne card for the convenience of shopping from home. I live in the “sticks.” we are an hour away from everything but grocery stores and fast food joints. It is so nice especially in the colder months and weekend. Heavy traffic to be able to shop from home. I’m so grateful for capital one!
I have had so much cash back rewards since signing up for this app… Capital One has bought my grandsons Nike Air Jordan’s for the past 2 yrs… I have also received so many discounts while using this wonderful app… Anyone who shops online a lot like I do needs to download the app and download it on your computer as well… Keep the savings coming Capital One…❤️❤️❤️❤️
Most of us have downloaded this app because you get a $10 bonus when you sign up. The UI is bad on desktop and mobile to begin with. They seriously need UX/UI designers. Next, the deals that you shop for can be found better using other chrome and safari extensions. The last thing I’m going to mention is the rewards have really bad options. The best one is for DoorDash but aside from that they don’t have main retailers, cash cards, or restaurants. It’s not worth the $10, I still haven’t redeemed mine. If you already use capital one this is probably better for you.
Everything you go to do takes sooo much time and it’s confusing. I earned reward bonus and had an email with a link to redeem, but even that took way to long to figure out. Clicking on the link only opened the apps homepage. Took me at least 5 mins to find the reward and then I had to figure out how to actually use it. When buying products on a website it pops up but is very clunky to use and doesn’t take you back to the pages you need to be on to complete the purchase.
Looks fantastic. Only if I knew where or to whom these saving are going to, I’d be a happy camper! Apparently I’m saving money and something is applied to my account that I can never log into because they don’t have me or my 2 emails I use to sign up on file. Other than that it makes you feel great, like you’re smart and saving money. Bravo!
I have been hitting the button to get Capitol One Shopping every once in a while when it comes in my email. It keeps telling me it’s not available on my device. It’s a new iPad Pro. This shouldn’t be this hard. I did something different today and it looks like I have to log into an app where my husband just gets offers when he’s shopping online in his laptop. Frustrating.
Enjoying everything about Capital One , i am learning how to get a higher credit score also the app is teaching me the responsibilities in having a credit card i honestly had no idea , it’s really easy to access nothing difficult about it at all !! Love the bonuses and shopping experience 🥰
I was gonna buy something on my PC and at checkout I was given a deal that said it was $80 off and I was like sweet. Not sweet. I try taking the deal and it didn’t work, I tried it so many times, on different browsers, I downloaded the mobile app and everything and it doesn’t work but the deal is still there. I contacted support which they don’t even have a mobile number email only, and they said so many words but nothing useful, i then told them to cut the bull$&%# and they said “we’re working on the problem and we’ll get back to you.” Massive waste of time and effort.
First and foremost, I enabled the extension in my browser and made a purchase that the extension said would qualify for 1% cash back. I did not receive the promised 1% cash back. Second, I downloaded this app as part of a Treasure Hunt quest on WEBTOON in exchange for coins. I followed all of the quest steps properly but did not receive the promised coins. After following up with customer care, I was told that I was ineligible due to an automated list of potential reasons that didn’t apply to me. This seems like a scam to just track your web usage without providing any appropriate compensation. Don’t bother downloading.
Not compatible with iPad nor iPhone! Link to show compatible devices doesn’t show compatible devices. Developers have ignored a wide market yet really, really want to advertise to us anyway. It’s 2022 people, get with the demographics or stop congratulating yourself and wasting our time. Fix this. Why tell everyone to send a note to help@capitaloneshopping? Seriously, you have told this to everyone who comments on your app yet you do nothing. It’s as if you are invested in wasting a person’s time. Is it to demonstrate false concern? I recommend you stop advertising to us and get busy solving the obvious problem.
I think this is an amazing service! I love the online platform. I only wish that the app was a little more user friendly and that there was an extension for safari. I’d also love to see the products when you search them in the app and not just the stores that carry the product. Overall great job!
I do love the shopping discounts. My only complaint is that it can’t be added to the safari browser on my iPad or iPhone. Otherwise, thank you for the discounts. Big savings. I used it around Christmas time when I had some extra money to spend and, with the app, I was able to buy just about every tool from Cricut that I would even want to try out. Huge savings!
Still undecided if this app is legitimate or not - works well with coupon codes and suggesting offers (though sometimes on things I already purchased), but the cash back %s change frequently and take forever to process. So still questioning how legitimate the platform is. Says it takes up to 30 days from order confirmation to crediting of cash back rewards, which imo is incredibly slow.
It accesses your contacts and their information and that is not cool. Beware if your friends start getting unannounced invites and people they know end up blaming you for spam. Plus the application is really clunky and looks like my 9 year old made it. With features and “coupon” codes that look like they were taken from a fake site and that really makes me question the validity of the application. My suggestion is to fix the UI, make it more reasonable with featured products. Make the user want to engage with the application. Then, next to its category setup a coupon that has lower prices. This should be easy to do using an application called express which will rake data from any site. Then post it’s data into your json datasets. However in this case, I was very disappointed as I am turned off by both the UI and it’s request to collect my contacts with Gmail. 4 thumbs down.
