Autism mom

I’ve a 5 year old nonverbal autistic son and I think it’ll be a very great way to start with this app and I’m surprised that it’s free because I’ve been looking into similar apps for a while and most apps charge you a hefty amount. What’s more interesting is its very easy to use, it’s only been few hours that I’ve started using it and I’m blown by it. This is my first time writing a review, I never write a review but I couldn’t hold myself this time because I think this deserves more than five starts. Hopefully it works for my son! Definitely recommend whoever is looking into a speech device!

Awesome app

My grandson is autistic nonverbal he hummed and talks gibberish I think this will help him to learn words very useful I love it now I just need to learn more on how to use it thank you very much and like one of the other reviews said can’t believe that there’s no charge that’s very awesome it seems everybody wants your money but this does not I’m hoping that this helps my grandson to start talking he does everything else normal he just does not talk

Amazing app

My grandmother had a major stroke and we’ve been using the app to help her relearn words and objects along with getting her to help communicate better with us. It’s been working great so far and our only gripe is that there isn’t a way to increase the size of the flash cards to help her see or click on them properly.

Great, except…

Looking into apps for my (basically) non verbal autistic daughter to help her communicate! I absolutely love that you can add custom cards and custom photos. However, when I add my voice to the card, the option to play the sound does not work. I am unsure if it’s an issue on my end or if I am doing something wrong. This app looks great and do plan to use it but need to figure out why the volume will not work on it! Please help! :(

Fantastic app,

This app is great, I have a 4 year old autistic non-verbal son and he has taken to this very well, we’ve seen great communication improvements just from using this app. My only complaint would be that I can’t put my original cards in the preset categories or rearrange cards, but it’s really my only complaint. It’s a free app, and it’s fantastic!

High potential, needs improvements.

This app really helps me communicate my needs when I go nonverbal. It’s nice that you can add your own cards to fit your situation. However, I would very much like to see some improvements. 1 - Turning down the touch sensitivity so you don’t accidentally poke a bunch of cards while you’re scrolling. 2 - An option to see ONLY your custom cards. 3 - A way to sort your own cards, be it by category or manual dragging. 4 - Options to turn off certain sounds, like the ones made when you tap to add/remove cards. That said, this app is an invaluable resource for when I go nonverbal and I look forward to continuing to use it. I just hope that the developers respond to the feedback and give it a few updates.

Excellent App with Results

I have a non-verbal daughter and this app allows her to respond to questions. She uses it to ask for certain items. I can see great improvements in her communication skill. Love this app!!! Highly recommend it to all parents with non-verbal and partial verbal child/children.

Wonderful tool for Children with Autism

Been trying to find apps to help my daughter. She has had a long hard journey with autism. This is similar to many tools being used to communicate with nonverbal autistic children and it’s absolutely awesome. She loves the cards and with time hopefully she can use it to express what she’s feeling or her needs.

Worth It

I’m autistic (18 y old btw) but only found out recently so now that I’m allowing myself to be nonverbal and not suffering through trying to speak I need some form of communication and this is great. I use my own cards, not the suggested ones, and theyre really helpful to have and fun to make. 100% worth it.

Card Talk

I am a speech & language pathologist and this is the best speech generating app have ever used. I strongly recommend this app to be used with all non-verbal children regardless of the age. The best feature is being able to create your own cards using photos of the child's home environment or classroom at school. And it is free!!!

Card Talk

I love this app. As a preschool teacher of nonverbal students with different abilities, I was overjoyed to find a free app that I could recommend to my student’s parents as well as use in the classroom. Some student’s families can’t afford the expensive communication devices that they so desperately need. Thank you so much.

I am an RBT

I am an RBT working with a 4 year old nonverbal autistic kiddo. Super easy to teach and add/ remove cards that are needed or not needed for daily use. Only wish more cards were available in the deck but still worth more than 5 stars

Easy, convenient way to introduce pictures for communication

I really like this app! It’s very easy to customize and create your own cards. I like having the ability to choose the voice for the recording as well.

To Amazing to be true

This app helps my artistic son speak. He struggles with learning about pacific stuff and talking. This app helps him communicate with me and his teachers and his peers. I’m so grateful that this app is a thing. My son can now speak to me and I am so happy. App is amazing love it.

I think it’s pretty good!

I definitely don’t struggle as much with speaking or not but I think this helps when I really don’t feel like talking. But I do wish there was different voice settings!

Easy to use, customizable

I found this app really by mistake and I am so grateful. Very very easy to use and set up. Simple and not a lot going on that may confuse a toddler. Thank you for offering this for free.

Great

This app has been amazing so far. My 3yr old is not using many words yet and it can be difficult to communicate. Her preschool teacher told us about this app. It has been a great tool to her success in school.

Great app, one minor complaint

This is a great app and it happy to have found it but one thing I wish you could do was put your original cards in the category that fits it (like putting an original snack card in the food category) otherwise, good app!

Love!

I love that this app allows you to create your own cards and add your own voice and pictures to it. Also, major bonus it’s free and first time use, my son loves so far. I think this is gonna be a good fit!

Proloquo2go but free

Basically proloquo2go but free and simpler. We purchased proloquo2go to go and it’s terrific however imo this app is hands down what a person with speech issues should be using.

Awesome; needs improvement:)

I’m a paraprofessional working with a nonverbal student with autism; she is taking to this app QUICKLY, it has been amazing. We have created many original cards for her. Two very necessary improvements should be made to this app: allow original (user-created) cards to be moved into specific categories (We have a custom “chicken nugget” card that should be in the food menu but it is in originals) Expand card limit from 3 to perhaps 6 or more

Volume doesn’t work?

This seems like it would be a great resource but the screen is not optimized for iPhone and doesn’t actually make sound when I press play.

Great app

I really like the app and it has so much potential. There are so few apps that support different languages. This one can be a lifesaver for a child who speaks one other than English.

Very Helpful but..

Useful for semi verbal 3 year old but it is not well suited for my iphone 11. The screen doesn’t fit right and i can’t access the corners.

works great!

this is a really good text to speech app that i use when i’m semi- or non-verbal (i’m an autistic 15 y/o). some of my favorite features are: - custom cards - a “deck” of cards you want to use most often, functions as a “favorites” collection - easy to use and navigate - cute pictures i wish there was an option to type for a text to speech option, but of course it’s hard to have everything especially in a free app.
