First I love the App. It is so easy and convenient and really fast. I have started taking my mom every week now to Cinebistro so I am using the App a lot. The staff at the Siesta Key Cinebistro are all so courteous and just plain awesome. Thanks for making going to the movies a joy😍🌈
TDLR: The app is cool but the developers should take notes from AMC’s app. Long version: The app is good but it could be better. I strongly believe the developers of this app should go study the AMC app. It has so many nice ease of life features like reminders for when movie tickets are available, ability to choose a theater and browse movies/times as opposed to having to use the movie poster to find the the times and theaters. Also AMC had this amazing feature where you could add “entourage members” to your account so when you’re checking out your movie, you can reserve seats for your friends as well, if they had the program. CMX does this but with guest credits and forces you to pay what another individual would pay. Basically geared more toward families. I bring up AMC only because I was a member there for so long but they recently close the only theater in the entire county so CMX was my next option. CMX is a great theater, I just wish the Passport program and the UI was more friendly
This is one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. It is particularly terrible for selecting movie tickets, but in general, it’s a poorly designed app. The user interface is clunky. It doesn’t seem to be designed for mobile. It doesn’t seem like it was designed by anyone with any experience making apps. It’s very easy to understand why Fandango gets away with high convenience fees – they are the best app for finding and purchasing movie tickets. And this app is why the Fandango app exists: you’ll get so frustrated trying to use this one that you abandoned it and go to theirs. It’s not just the app when you get to the theater there is another horrible experience at their kiosk. It’s all just very mind blowing how difficult and poorly designed their technology is. I have found another theater that I go to. And this app is a big part of that reason.
I have had issues with booking using the App I’ve had two experiences trying to book 3-D showings and received a normal 2-D experience and another time where it was described as a dubbed movie but then was only shown that day in subtitles. It was very disappointing especially for my autistic nephews as the app does not provide the correct information. This time I compared the website to the app and the website shows a 3-D showing available for an upcoming movie yet the app provides no information. Hoping for the best but may have to travel multiple towns away to get the experience my family desires compared to one within a quick bike ride from our house.
I’ve always had intermittent issues with this app, but customer service used to be great at adjusting your points with proof of your receipt. That was until recently. With the new app update, non of my points have been added from movie ticket or concession purchases I’ve made within the past few weeks and customer service is now nonexistent. It’s safe to say I’ll be going back to using AMCStubs where at least I can be confident that I’ll rightfully receive my points and earn incentives.
I love the cmx theater in my city, but this app is awful. If you’re a member expecting to get any sort of rewards, you won’t. It says every 7 tickets purchased you get a free tickets. Twice now i’ve gotten to 7 tickets and it just reset back to zero without giving me a free ticket. Half the time the rewards won’t load. Movie credits i’ve earned through my subscription have just disappeared without me spending them. App needs a lot of work.
Past week has been buggy; multiple errors when trying to pick seats; wish was able to order and pay for food through app; wait staff has to manually input membership number and credit card number. Plus tipping right after ordering before receiving the food is not ideal if they are trying to have an upscale experience. Feels bootlegged.
Love the.. however, every time I click on the movie it doesn’t always pull up my preferred theater. I have to be careful that I am reserving for the correct theater. Almost made a mistake in purchasing tickets to another theater. Another thing that will be great is choosing Apple Pay instead of saving my credit card.
I reserved two seats, went to look for credit card. When I returned the seats appeared as taken. Chose two other seats, card was old, went to change it and same thing happened. Finally the third time it worked with the third pair of seats. Seems that seats time out fir a while when selected.
Start the app and it tells you a new version is available. Doesn’t let you use the app until you hit Update. Problem with that is I AM using the latest version. I even deleted and reinstalled the app. How about making app updates OPTIONAL? Even if it were reduced functionality like if it wouldn’t allow orders to be placed but you could still browse movie times, that’d be an improvement.
Ever since app updated I’ve had to be vigilant in documenting receipts to make sure my points are added. Every single time I’m emailing with proof of purchase and it takes about a week to get an answer and another week to get points. Never had this issue before update.
Only movie theater I go to in tallahassee fl but always so expensive….but I just became a member and saved 50 percent on 2 tickets! I’m so glad I downloaded the app and became a member, more movies for me this year!!
With CMX passport you have issue/errors coming up when you go to book your tickets which is frustrating and accessing your passport over the weekend is also a nightmare. My passport screen is completely white over the weekend and I couldn’t get my passport ID to show to the waiter for the 10% discount for my food. I love their service and the environment but their app is frustrating.
Of course it’s useful for buying tickets and quick access to them when at theatres, but it would be nice if there was an add to wallet option for iphone users, along with Apple Pay.
First it took several emails upon upgrading from our old theater promo club to CMX to get the app to recognize my points. Once I fixed that, I realized when I buy tickets it doesn’t add them to my history despite scanning the barcode - haven’t fixed that one yet. One month using this app, the experience has been quite terrible.
You should consider having it so that when you purchase tickets, you have the option to put a notice on your calendar and place the tickets in your wallet.
I login to the app and it prompts me for an update but there is no update available upon getting to the App Store. I cannot use the app until supposed update so I can’t use my passport membership for CMX
Messed up ordering when trying to manually enter the CC information. Sent me back to the Home Screen of the app and then the seat I was trying to pay for was unavailable. Made it difficult to coordinate with friends and family to sit near each other.
It wont let me login with my account credentials. After you hit the forgot password link, it states that it’s going send you an OTP to login, but it send you a password reset link. Even after resetting the password, the app won’t let me login. At this point it’s just glorified schedule viewing app!
I am a CMX Passport member and you say I can only use the app to book movies. But the app is super slow to load every screen. I am on 500 Mbps internet and have tried it on other wifi networks too. Please fix this!
I went to book a movie and click the wrong time and I canceled it, but it took away the member credit and two of my guest tickets. I’m hoping that I can get those back and if I can then I would give this app five stars.
As soon as I open the app it asks me to update which takes me to the app store. There's no update button, only open which of course starts the process all over in a continuous loop.
