There have been issues with this app recently and, when I contact the developer, there is no answer. The first issue is the Search function that does not work at all. The developer is aware of the issue but has given no idea of when and if it will be fixed. The other issue is that, although I can access premium content on the website, I can’t always in the app - I’m prompted to pay for the class, even though I’m a premium member. Again, no answer. I’m wondering if they are planning to abandon the app since they haven’t done anything about these issues for a while and they are pretty significant issues. If you are thinking of downloading this, just be aware.
Works OK if you always have Wi-Fi . It allows you to download classes, but they do not stay downloaded which is very frustrating when you need to utilize it where there is no Wi-Fi! I have needed to download courses 5 and 6 times to use them. One of the reasons I bought Craftsy was to use when I have time, frequently while traveling. It does me no good to take the time to download all the different classes in a course and then when I go to use them to have them disappear and tell me I don’t have anything downloaded (3 times today with very slow WiFi when I do get any). For the price they want their service, the app should be flawless! I did get a response from them and you can see it below. They did not address the problem well. I downloaded two sections of a course made sure I never rebooted my device and left the app open, and I still lost them after a couple of days. I think the issue is I am not always on wi-fi or cellular and the app does not know if I have exited it or not for when I go in without connection even though the app is still supposed to be open, it I still have to log back in!!!! If I could give them no stars or 1/2 a star I would! Very frustrating from a person who was able to do this with the original app (before it was bought out).
This is a marketing company, app fails if you run protection
Had to go to safari and “turn off content blockers” just to see subscriptions in the app. Then when I bought a year, app doesn’t function anyway, just hangs. It seems this facade of an app is actually just a vacuum for your personal information. To their credit, they don’t go far to hide it. It’s laden with Google spyware, had to get past an annoying 12-stage Google “captcha” on their website just to log in! I have no idea how good the app actually is, because this is about the marketing company. They are so focused on themselves and getting as much of your personal information as possible that they forgot to make the app functional. And this is the PAID subscription- $120 a year for this spyware?!? THAT’S “crafty” if anyone actually continues to pay for this. Instant refund request, Google and other spyware PLUS YOU CHARGE A HEFTY SUBSCRIPTION FEE?
Since returning back to Craftsy I notice several of my classes I had originally purchased are no longer there or I have to buy them again. I have not been able to make contact to fix this error but I do want my classes updated, especially before committing to another monthly subscription. Thank you, Jennifer Roush
There’s a new deal to become a premium member today if you’re a T-Mobile customer. I’ve never heard of this app but as a crafty person I was so excited when I saw the deal. And immediately tried to join. But I can’t even make an account and log in to the app. It keeps timing out. Is this happening with anyone else? It seems based on the other reviews the app is pretty poorly managed. Update: the response to this is just a copy and paste of the original instructions which I followed the first time. Not helpful and I still am unable to log into the app.
Have had this 3 weeks at the most on a $1.49 offer. Do not find reason to continue. Tried to delete account but told not possible because it’s active. Tried the two ways suggested but neither are a real email or web address. I want to close account and therefore not have the subscription why is this so difficult? Sending me to places associated with Apple ID very unusual or an address which isn’t valid. I don’t want my $1.49 back I only want to be done with the subscription permanently.
I downloaded this app because T-Mobile is giving its customers a one year free subscription to Craftsy. However, it’s been a warning notification when I try to register for a new account. The app will not let me register or sign up on the app. It keeps giving a warning notification about the data is incorrect or something like that but anyway, I will be deleting this app. I just won’t get it if it’s giving me problems to sign up and register Account no telling what this app would do, if I am registered
Contrary to most of the current comments, I have no issues with the Craftsy platform. Been on it since the beginning. I do wish there was a way to organize the classes in My Stuff, and I wish I had the ability to hide or delete some of My Stuff. Hope that might be an option in the future.
when you become a member, you cannot easily find out what type of membership you have. There doesn’t seem to be any benefit to paying for a membership since the things that you get for free are the same ones included with the membership. I still have no idea if I upgraded, or what I can use without getting charged for once became a member. I tried to get into the class that I joined specifically just to be a part of and they still wanted to charge me for the class, so what’s the point
Content is well organized and the front page loads quickly. App owner responded quickly and fixed my problem. Glad to have access again. Previous comment: Can’t log in with the app although I have no problem using a browser and logging in at the website.
This is an okay app. I mean it’s not worth paying all the videos but it’s a really cool app. Personally I think it’s pretty decent. But it does take a while to load sometimes and it can be frustrating but it’s not that bad of an app and also I hate how it sends me about 4-7 emails per day and I’m getting kinda paranoid with that I’m not a huge fan of the app but I don’t think I’ll delete it… I feel like I’m about to tho.
The classes/videos are alright, but what is confusing is for a new premium member, it first seems like you have to buy most of the classes/videos. Took me awhile to figure out that the buy option is for those that want to keep the classes after they end their membership. You can watch all videos though. I wish this was better explained.
When one episode finishes, the app queues up the first episode of a completely different series
This is so strange…I have to stop the episode I am watching before it finishes, else the app queues up the first episode from a completely different series. And then freezes. The cancel X at the top right is non responsive. I have to close all, and then refind the series I want to watch. Please fix!!! Thanks you
Won’t go past the main screen. It either flashes the main login screen or keeps loading the Craftsy logo. So many (too many) events through Craftsy require giving your name and email to a third party to get the materials for the event leading to unwanted newsletters and probably a good bit of spam. I wondered if user data was being traded or sold less obviously, too. Now that I see the reaction of the app to a VPN, I feel certain that it is.
I downloaded this app because a 1 year premium membership was offered by T Mobile Tuesdays. Unfortunately, I keep getting an error message and can’t even sign in. I tried this 5 times. Guess I’ll have to delete the app now because the offer is useless.
My membership is scheduled to renew in 2 days but I can’t find out how to cancel from the website. Content was good and helpful, but some classes are very dated. Update: I called Craftsy and a pleasant representative canceled my subscription. I will probably renew later because there really are some helpful classes.
Every time I try to get classes, I am prompted to pay for them, even though I am a premium member. I am constantly being redirected to “activate membership” and when I do, the app acknowledges that I am a subscribed member, and then REDIRECTS ME TO ACTIVATE AGAIN!! Pressing “restore purchase” does nothing as well. It is a constant loop that never ever resolves. So basically download only if you want to pay for content that you cannot access.
I didn’t want to renew my membership. I received an email stating if I didn’t want to renew, I should log in and click on the membership details icon. I tried deleting my account, but the app wouldn’t allow me to do so. I searched to delete my payment method so it wouldn’t automatically charge my payment method, but couldn’t find that either. Seems kind of scammy.
I have not any issues with the app. I watch this while cooking and I have learned so much from drawing to cake baking! Thinking of upgrading my subscription!
I’m having so many issues logging on. I don’t even know what a premium subscription is because every time I go in there, Its wanting to charge me for classes and when I try to hit the button to play the video it directs me to get access and get a membership. It’s very confusing! I don’t even know if it’s worth getting if I’m not gonna get the classes that I want.
I love Craftsy and have been on the platform since the beginning. When I go to log into the Craftsy app it says there is an error. “Warning the data couldn’t be read because it isn’t in the correct format “ Please fix your app!!!
I can’t review the content of the app because I can’t even get into it. The login screen kept crashing and once I was finally able to attempt to login, it states my data cannot be read because it’s not in the correct format (whatever that means). I’m using the information from the email craftsy sent me. Very buggy app.
I cancelled my subscription and I was still charged a crazy amount of money. They keep charging after I dispute the charges with my bank. I am really upset this is the worst app by far. I also can no longer access the app I open it and I get a disco party on my phone! The app just keeps flashing lights. There is no way for me to use this and I want my money back!
I was set for a renew in two weeks. The charge for this went through weeks earlier with no warning. My bank account is now a mess. I sent a request to reverse this transaction and went through the process of cancelling. I hope this will be refunded in a timely manner. I am very shocked and do not recommend signing up with this app.
Like many other people, I tried to get this app and the one year membership with the T-Mobile Tuesday promotion. I followed the steps as outlined, and I was charged for one full year of the app. The only way to reach customer service is via email, I sent an email and also filed a complaint with Apple to get a refund.
Content is varied but good. Lots of good classes and tutorials but I favorite things I want to watch later and yet my favorites list shows I have no content on my favorites list so I look the class up again to favorite it again and it shows me as already having it in my favorites list.
“Free” trial ended up impossible to cancel and several months later I was auto subscribed using my apple account for a full year at $97 without my authorization or consent. Additionally, not everything is included. Most of the valuable content you have to pay extra for - in addition to the inflated base cost. TERRIBLE.
I’ve even tried reinstalling as well as restarting my phone but this app just hangs on “Loading…” but never loads. So this app gets a ZERO! No stars… just 0. Hopefully they’ll fix it so that I can actually check out the app and take advantage of my membership using the app
I created an account when T-Mobile offered it a few weeks back but couldn’t sign in…Now, it’s not even recognizing that I created the account. It wiped out the offer from T-Mobile!!!!!! I wanted to love this site, since my daughter loves DIY crafts/projects, but I’m SUPER DISAPPOINTED. It’s been frustrating, at best.
I am signing up for the T-Mobile one year free subscription. Every time I try to enter my own password, it tells me that the data fields are not valid. I cannot sign onto the app and today is the only day that it would be free for a year. It’s an offer that is only valid on Tuesdays.
Tmobile states on Tuesday members receive a bonus! I used my points and got the Craftsy App but it’s not allowing me access anymore but took money out of my bank I am going to fight for my money back soon
It’s not fixed, as per that last answer by the developer. I cannot search for anything, not to mention why I can’t find actual recipes to anything. Cancelling my subscription and contacting my cc company to dispute the charges. Insanity.
Signed up for the trial and contacted before cancellation date. Was still charged and had to file a claim. Videos are hokey and spend a lot of time on tangential topics and trying to make it entertaining rather than informative. Found courses old fashioned and the instructors kid of odd.
My payment method has been hacked through this site 2x in the last 30 days for over$200! Either this is a shady app or your payment method is not secured. Calling the bank yet again today to fix.
The mobile app does not work well. Buttons(such as PDF) are dead. Hard to get Favorite link to work. Very frustrating. Received response from developer stating that pdf does not work in the app. Then why have a button in the app?
What is this nonsense? You can’t review lessons to give feedback or slow down or speed up lessons. It’s 2024. Get it together. You’re better off checking out library books to learn your skill.
Idk if the app has been abandoned or what but I can’t even log in so I can’t really give a review. When I try to log in it says data can’t be found due to the wrong format so idk what that means but hopefully it can be fixed.
There is no way to cancel the subscription or delete my account via the app. Also, I’m not able to unsubscribe from my Apple settings. Currently talking to Apple support and they themselves are confused. I need help!!! Like if I could rate 0 stars I really would.
I’m having trouble locating the cancel button. I go to delete account and it says “can’t delete account you are a subscriber” the app isn’t what i was told. Now I can’t get out!!
I just purchased membership and I can’t figure how to join a class. Not clear. The class I can join is from 2016 so I’m wondering with others if this app is being abandoned.
$40 to watch videos on TOP of the $113 a year?!?! Holy cow, this might be one of the most expensive apps I have ever seen! I will NOT be renewing at these prices, and I advise everyone to watch carefully on what you are charged!
You pay to get started & then nearly every “class” is still charged for. I’m pretty certain I paid for the premium plan, but can’t verify that on my app. I’ve sent a couple emails in the past, but not seen replies for them. It’s a disappointment.
