This app is terrific. I love it and have been using it the past couple of years. I gave it 3 stars because it was recently updated this past week and unfortunately it keeps crashing and freezing, making it frustrating to use. Please fix it. I would love to give it 5 stars.
Just downloaded This week, and my iPhone is up to date IOS whatever, and this app runs prefectly, I only use the application for searches of titles of books, saves me time typing and searching through the search engine of Google to find complex online website. This app is awesome! Who knew a local library would have an app that works, especially with limited downloads and reviews! Any way the books that were available on ‘Check Shelf’ were available when available and due when they said they were due. Awesome little time efficient app! :)
Trying for 2 days to get into my account on my iPad. First I couldn’t get past buffering to even open page. Then when I finally got website opened I couldn’t get past buffering to access My Account. EVENTUALLY after many tries I could actually get a result which told me I was “unauthorized” and needed a valid library card # and PIN. Put the correct numbers in and got the “unauthorized” notice again. Haven’t changed either number in decades and suddenly I’m not able to access my account. Tapped on ?App Support and for some unknown reason my full account popped up on the screen. Need to get it together guys/ladies.
I keep using the app and website hoping that it will improve with each update. Unfortunately that is not the case — you need a different interface redesign for the Cuyhanga County Library. Also, when ordering an ebook, it should be easier to choose if you want it on your Kindle or iBook as opposed to using OverDrive. There should be an option of returning an ebook prior to the due date as opposed to just letting it expire on its own. This way you could release the book and someone else could take advantage of reading it. Keep working on it please!
I had no issues with the app so far. I am running an iPhone iOS 12.1. I haven’t tried everything on it but so far it all looks good. It shows the books I have out. I registered for an event (I will double check that - always a good idea).
UPDATE: It appears waiting 3 hours was enough to get this working again. This app worked great until recently. Now whenever I try to log in, I get a pop up stating “sorry something went wrong. Unauthorized.” I’ve restarted my device and deleted the app and reinstalled with no luck.
I love our local library and the amazing material and programs that has available for the community, but this rating is for the app- not good. I renewed some materials through the app and it went through I saw it. But then I received an email that my fees were accumulating because I didn’t renew them when I was for sure I did. So do not use the app for that- now I need to pay over 20 dollars for that mistake.
Barely searches correctly. Example: VERY frequently, I search for a book or author and it comes up as no options, but then I go to the library and use the computers there and find options for the same things I search. Absolutely frustrating. Why have an app if it doesn’t work? And when I reserve an electronic book, it says I can access it, but it completely crashes and never loads.
I love the new style of this app, but when I’m listening to the audiobooks, they constantly crash. I can’t listen to a book when I don’t have Wi-Fi either like the old app. Please update it again. Bring back the older version for audio.
I’ve had this app for a while now and it’s long been a bit hiccupy but I can usually browse, check out a book, and get reading without too much fuss. Unfortunately though, at the moment it’s totally unusable for me. Shortly after it launches it throws an error that reads “Sierra Request Error: cURL error (400) - Unknown error” and I cannot do anything in it.
On the rare occasions when the app works it is great but that is not very often at all. I thought it was suppose to be available 24/7. I find it very difficult to find a way to get in to read my e books. Please do something to make this better. Thank you. FYI right now the app is not working.
For being an app for a library, it’s terrible. I use it constantly to order and renew books; however, it freezes very often. I am constantly deleting the app and reinstalling it so I can use it again. I wish someone could up their tech game on this app.
This app was starting to get better but now the last couple weeks every time I go into the app, it prompts me to log back in. The whole point of using the app is to quickly pull up my account w/o having to log in every time. Tried to go to App Support to report the issue and it just takes me to the library homepage 🙄
ETA... the log out issue should have been addressed already. This is a great app. It useless if it can't remember your ID and password! Please address this soon. I miss having it's functionality at hand. I loved this app but now I can’t even log in. What a shame the developers don’t test their product before giving it to the end user. 😡
For some reason, the app can run only over a WiFi connection. Using only mobile data seems to prevent most of the content from loading at all, with no error message. (iPhone 8, iOS 15.1, AT&T Mobile)
I want the ability to be able to sort my check outs by due date or date checked out. It only sorts them by item type. I don’t care about that & it is not helpful.
Can’t cancel or freeze holds. It keeps giving me errors. Also, when an item is on hold, you can’t see your position in the hold (unlike on the website).
I am so grateful for the award winning library we have. It’s amazing. That’s why it’s so disappointing to have an inconsistent app. Use the website for reliable service. I hope one day the app is as stellar as the library.
I download this app to be able to access my books online. unfortunately this app isn't loading and hasn't been loading each time I try to log onto it. I would rate it a zero star if I could. disappointed. :/
I like the interface. Previous version never kept me logged in, even though I told it to, and this one seems better at that so far. The search function seems like it will work well once some things are fixed. Right now it's not sorting my results well, if at all. For instance, I searched for "animation" and selected "sort by relevance" but it sorted alphabetically (as near as I can tell; it gave me a ton of results about animals, with a few animation titles mixed in). I'm giving benefit of the doubt that this is something they're working on, because it's less than helpful right now and I can't imagine this is how it's intended to work.
This app used to work really well. I enjoyed using it to search for & reserve classes & reserve books but I can’t get anything past the home page to load anymore.
Why? Why do I have to enter my account name *and* password??? At least save the account name. And the app searches often return zero results even when the library web site returns actual materials.
I actually think this app is a lot better and easier to use than their old app. Visually it's much better, and definitely easier to navigate. I like the OverDrive eBook read-in-app feature a lot. I hope future updates will offer the same for the Hoopla music service and Zinio magazines. I hate having download tons of different apps to get library content. The speed of the app has not been an issue for me, like others have said. Updates seem to have fixed issue. The catalog search doesn't work quite how I'd expect, but I'm able to find what I want.
This app was great until the most recent update. When I try to access my bookshelf it just spins saying its gathering my information . I can see the books under the notice but the screen freezes and can't do anything with books. Restarted and killed app even uninstalled and reinstalled several times over the past few days and this will not allow me to access my ebooks. Really bummed because I use the app to check out ebooks and now I can't open my books at all. Hopefully working on a fix!!
The app worked great before the update. It continues to load books and takes forever to do so. We borrow lots of books for our five year old to read and it constantly says loading 28 out of 42 books and never finishes. We have to use the overdrive app to read them which is hard for her to navigate.
Before the update, the app worked great. As a working mom, I appreciated the notifications I would receive directly on my phone, telling me when books were due or when books I've reserved were ready for pick up. Towards the end of the old app, I stopped receiving notifications and incurred multiple late fees. When I found out the app was getting an overhaul, I was hopeful that it would return to its former splendor. Nope. Still no notifications. This evening, I tried renewing a book through the app in hopes of saving myself a trip to the library. No such luck! Disappointing.
I love the idea of this new app. I like the integration of the main library with the digital collection. However, the app doesn't work. It takes several minutes to load my shelf initially upon opening and each time I make a selection it takes several minutes to refresh. The loading delay makes the app unusable. I am also wondering where the wish list is. I actively used my wish list on the old app. In addition, there is no help section to report problems.
I can't seem to figure out how to change things in the app. It set a default library that is not near me and there is no way to change it. Doesn't show items that are ready for pick up, or when they need to be picked up. Doesn't show your position in line for items on hold. There is not enough relevant information that was available on the old app. I will stick with the desktop version instead of bothering with the app.
Vast improvements have been made. Bookshelf a little clunky still, but it has been much user friendly to use. Catalog doesn't always seem to show the same results as desktop version, but! This app does what it needs to on the fly.
Unlike prior reviewers I do not notice any lag or slowness. Offers lots more options than the old app. For a frequent and intensive library user it seems an excellent choice. Yet another addition to otherwise outstanding service offered by CCPL.
The app hangs every time you try and renew an item. I tried to renew 3 items, and had to kill the app and re-start it every time. Renewal of items is a primary reason I use the app. Also seems much slower overall than the old one. This app is prettier than its predecessor, but the old one worked great! Hoping these issues are fixed quickly because I was always a fan of the CC mobile app.
I loved this app, but after receiving new iPhone 7 w/ iOS 10, the app is just showing a blank screen. Tried delete/reinstall, same result. Needs an update fast!
I find the new app a lot easier to use than the old version. I'm able to request and renew items without issue, and I can download ebooks & eaudiobooks and start reading right away!
I miss the old app in which I could do all of my browsing. I'm annoyed that this app pops me over to the website when I want to browse digital titles. Why would I even bother with the app if it's just going to redirect me to the web? On the plus side, the interface is smoother and more intuitive. That's about the on,y good thing I have to say...
The old app didn't look that great but at least it worked. This one is the opposite. It takes forever to load my 30 something reserved items. It also sorts both held and checkedout items in a weird choice that can't be changed. It's not worth using so I just use my browser anymore even on my cell.
I had quite a few books on my wish list which I cannot find.😡 How do I choose non-fiction books and browse the titles? The app takes a long time to load each page...put the old app back, please. **UPDATE 4/22** Still cannot find my wish list...Are you planning on bringing it into the new app??? 😡
Renew doesn't work reliably. Checked out items should be sorted by closest due date and color-colored for due within two days, both like the old app. It takes a long time for checked out items to be loaded, especially if there are a lot of items.
Same problem as others. In my list of books takes forever to load them up and then hangs up when renewing. Haven't found any other bugs because I have no desire to check. Guess I will wait til they fix it.
Slow app - waited over 5 minutes for my account info to load so I could renew my materials - no luck. Should've kept the old on on while the bugs got fixed on this one. Still waiting for my bookshelf to load to view my account.....
The app has been totally useless. On both iPhone and iPad, the app hangs when trying to load my bookshelf. I have spent two days trying to download a book I had on hold that is finally available. Please fix!
This app won't let me successfully renew checked out items. When I renew something it displays a message indicating it was renewed but the due date is not being updated. Please fix this.
It won't load the books I have checked out, which is one of the biggest reasons I use the app. For such a great library system, this app is huge disappointment.
