Reserved a cheap vehicle for two weeks. $10/ day. That car usually rents for $35, but this is the scam. Thei will tel you are late and the car is not available any and a different car is available for three times or more money.... God ripped off by this Agency, and left without a reserved car that I had deposit for . Also no deposit refund. -Read carefully their terms, an you'll see where the rip off is. Good luck traveling!
Bad graphic interface on iPhone using iOS 17. I try to log in and it asks for country of driver. It allows me to select my country from the drop down list but the confirm/continue button doesn’t appear on the screen so you can go no further. I am able to access the app on my iPad mini.
They enter car pickup location in the app as downtown but it is not in downtown. you have to walk 60 minutes to pickup the car. When I sent message to customer service, they did not refund my deposit and ignored their mistake.
Do not trust this site. Car rental agencies will still find ways to charge you for other fees. Very deceitful and predatory practice. Car rental agency did not disclose in voucher that clients are MANDATED to pay for their “insurance.” This was not disclosed anywhere in the booking process. Booking offered option to decline coverage, yet agency hid it on a technicality in the fine print of voucher. That is deceitful, misleading and overall bad business practice. Don’t offer crazy low prices only to lure customers and trick them - on top of keeping their pocket change money.
The deposit paid to secure the booking is ignored at the car pick up. After multiple attempts to contact the support and hope they would intermediate in our favor, they simply ignore. The extra issuance is another fraud. The car rental charged me for a fictitious damage and I after filling a claim, guess? Never got replied. STAY ALWAY FROM THIS UP!! BOOK ON THE RENTAL WEBSITE DIRECLTY!!!
Stay away from this company. They lure you with what appears to be a low price for a rental and make a number of misleading claims during the booking process and you don’t find out till you are done booking that you were deceived. They say “FREE cancellation until 48 hours before the reservation begins” but hidden in their terms and conditions is a statement that says that no refunds are given and they will only give you booking credit for a future rental. They also do not have a 24/7 customer service like they say they do. There is not a phone number you can call. There are also other hidden fees in their terms and conditions like that most renters would not expect. (If your car insurance is not up to $1 million you have to buy insurance from them in addition to paying a deposit etc etc) It is now more than 10 days before my reservation is scheduled to begin and I cannot get a refund. Stay away from this company and go with a normal rental car company. You will actually save more money by going with a normal company that appears to be more expensive at first not to mention better customer service and less hassle.
Before you start using DiscoverCars app, I wanted to share my experience with you. I had a terrible time with it, and I don't want the same to happen to you. I rented a car through the app, and when I went to pick it up at the desk, I was charged additional costs, which turned out to be a scam. I immediately contacted DiscoverCars, but unfortunately, they took a long time to reply back to me. As a result, I didn't get the rental car and had to rely on bus trips which completely spoiled my vacation plan. Even after contacting them multiple times, they didn't offer any resolution or refund my money. So, I have gathered all the information to start a file process to report them to FCAB. If you have also had a bad experience with DiscoverCars, I suggest you report to FCAB too.
They are promoting businesses that try to rob you with insurance tricks, marking them as “100% recommended”, whereas in reality they have a rating of 0 elsewhere. Beware!
I cannot stress enough how terrible my experience with customer service on discovercars.com and Dollar rent car in Mexico Cancun was a complete and utter scam! Despite making reservations through discover cars and reaching out to their support team with specific inquiries about costs and coverage, they failed to provide me with satisfactory answers and took far too long to respond. This left me feeling incredibly stressed as I went to pick up my rental car at the airport, only to be hit with outrageous costs that were not disclosed beforehand. They started at $1600 for insurance for just one week plus a deposit security of $5000 but managed to haggle me down to $1400 plus a security deposit of $2500. It was quite clear that they were running a scam operation. I immediately contacted discovercars.com, but they were unresponsive and did nothing to resolve my issues or even offer a refund. I cannot emphasize enough how horrendous the customer service was and how utterly they ignored me every step of the way. If you ever have to deal with any issues, they simply won't care.
