Technical problems abound
I’ve bought 11 courses. I would get excited to see them on Facebook ads. I’ve been too busy to even do the courses. I watched the first one more than actually took it. Figured I could get back to it when time permitted. When I finally found some time this week to sit down and start a course, the whole setup seemed different. I guess they’ve changed the app in the weeks I’ve been otherwise occupied. Now none of my courses play right on my iPad Pro. They start and then they go off track and drag. I’m using the latest app version, so that’s not the problem. I’m gonna want my money back if I can’t figure out how to access what I paid for. I won’t buy any more courses until then, either. What’s gonna happen, if Domestika can’t get it together, is someone will come and do what they’ve done here better. I love the concept, the brightly lit videos and the variety of topics and artists! But not the frustration. I’ve also been bothered by the very poor translations from Spanish to English. So, I’ve tried to avoid the Spanish language courses and opt for the few in English. Get it together, please, Domestika! I want to LOVE you, not feel regret that I ever saw you go by in my Facebook feed.

I feel like a kid, again..
I feel like a kid, again. So many courses, that remind you of your childhood. When you find yourself dreaming about the person you might be: from being a famous painter like Van Gogh, to that glue-behind the scenes in the art props department, to writing that novel that changes lives —not just your own. All I missing is skateboard, my posters of Harrison Ford and some guy from one of those teen magazines, and 80’s pop -purple eyeliner. And, when you think it’s all over, then you throw in the newest software that you thought there was no-way you could make a business out of it, and suddenly that dream that seemed like it already past, is now just day or two away, like the morning sun—you never know what you going to learn about yourself with Domestika. I feel like I’m a new person, and I don’t want to get off the rocket that seems to be beyond all that I know in this universe, this world, …All you have to his push play (aka PLUS) and that theme song that transfers you into another you is just a PLUS away / galaxy away. Hit the play button Sir Elton John. You just never know, what soundtrack might pop up on Domestika station—Cue the music Mr. Elton John. I’m ready to rocket out of here. (Rocket Man / —-Grrl…..)

Deleted Account(buyer beware)
Everyone read the TOS. It specifically says they can delete your account at any time without any explanation. And they will. Over the last several years I have purchased six of there courses through the app. With one of the last sales they had I purchased a course outside the app. In order to have the course in the app I tried to sign in to my account. However it had been a long time since I logged in I could’nt remember my password. As a result I inadvertently set up a second account. I reached out to Domestika. Through their online form. They gave a indication they could merge accounts. But instead of merging they deleted my in app account. Despite repeated attempts to reach with pictures of proof of purchase for my in app purchases. No one EVER got back to me. Buyer beware. EDIT: They finally sent me an email with instructions on how to get back into my account. Thank you.

App No Longer works
I LOVE DOmestika, but their app no longer works for me. I have a 5th generations IPad PRO 12.9, with the latest IOS update, but this app has been glitchy for the past 6 months. SO Gltichy, NONE of my classes show up - only my “lists.” I’m an avid user, buy both the monthly subscription and buy packs. I have purchased over 100 classes! Downloading the classes has always been a pain. No, It’s not even an option - the app doesn’t allow me to download anything. In the past, when I downloaded, it was a hassle: I can’t just click a button to download all the classes in a course, you have to click each individual class. If there is a choice of languages, I have to also click on the language I want, FOR EACH CLASS, rather than just once for the entire course. If I log out of app, all my downloaded classes are deleted off my device, even though my account is active. Supposedly when you purchase the class, you have lifetime access to that class - so then why does it delete itself when you log out? Even if I don’t log out, when my iPad gets a new update, I’m automatically logged out, so then, all my classes are deleted, again. This app has made it so difficult to use the the service.

Excellent Resource for Lifelong Learners
Domestika offers a wide-range of affordable classes for beginners and experienced students alike. Each class is so thorough and professional. The teachers are professional artists and writers from all over the world. i have enjoyed the dozen or so courses i have taken so far. i have taken classes in a wide range of interests too, from writing to painting to ceramics. As a retired person, with little experience in any of those areas of study, i feel fortunate to have found an affordable way to learn new things. The affordability is very important to me. After purchasing each course one at a time over the past couple of years, i decided to try the Plus membership. I love it! now i can try a different class every day, if i want to, just to learn new things and be inspired by incredibly talented artists from all over the world. Thank you so much, Domestika.

My favorite craft learning platform
I’ve been a Domestika user for about five years now and continue to discover new types of crafts and techniques. It’s the best place for me to learn and try different things. I’ve purchased over 100 courses there, each one enriching my skills in unique ways. Recently, I was awed by a course on innovative materials that I can create in my kitchen using trash (like orange and banana peels, eggshells, etc.). I also appreciate the traditional craft courses that bridge the gap between our modern world and our ancestors. Only issue is a language barrier. A lot of courses are in Portuguese or Spanish. I’m waiting for the moment when they implement proper voice translation; the technology for that is available. Hey, Domestika developers, listen to your loyal user!

Good but would appreciate improvements
Steady app, doesn’t crush. I’d gladly give it 5 stars but the app heavily lacks improvement in My courses section, for example like filters tool so one can filter out completed courses from currently watching/unfinished ones from freshly purchased etc.. maybe possibly of creating some folds/lists for My Courses… also would be nice to be able to see the course metrics/stats like total duration of a course (1h45min, 3h etc..), to leave a review… Wound highly appreciate a possibility of fast forwarding a lesson/vid by simply tapping on either sides (1 tap equals 10 secs, 3 fast taps = 30 secs, etc), or at least being able to hold and drag the… dot(?) on the video progress bar in full/horizontal view mode without picking up the entire screen with the app together as if I’m trying to minimize the app or close it all together when I’m simply trying to fast forward or to rewatch a segment… thank you!

Stop automatic play of course trailers
There needs to be a setting to stop course trailers automatically playing when you’re browsing courses. Sometimes, the page is still loading but the sound automatically starts with no way to stop it. It’s pretty obnoxious and startling. There are also a few bugs with the in-built video player while playing purchased course videos. Videos that are on full screen will, at times, not go back to the smaller size even after pressing the correct button on the screen. The only way to combat this is to close the app and reopen it. Apart from these two issues, I do enjoy using Domestika. Their courses are well produced and they have a wide gamut of courses that will appeal to everyone. I would love the “My Courses” section to have Ongoing/Completed/Not Started course filters as having one large list can get quite unwieldy when you have a lot of courses.

Good content, poor user experience
We’ve found some really good instructors on here, some less so. The student reviews are typically a pretty good guide. My aggravation is the app’s lack of understanding that many of us do NOT want courses in other languages, will NEVER take a course in another language, and do NOT want them to keep emailing us “great new courses” that we get all the way to checkout and have to remember “oh wait - let me make sure this is in English before I buy”. My settings say English. I’ve had to cancel two courses for language when we first started on the app. And yet today I get an email with three “new courses I would like” and two of them are in a foreign language. I doubt we are unique on this? Seems like a simple concept to fix, but instead now I’ve had to just turn off notifications entirely so my daughter doesn’t accidentally purchase again. Frustrating.

I love Domestika!
There are so many videos and things to learn and I have enjoyed everyone single one I have watched. Even if it’s something I’m already familiar with, I usually pick up a new trick or two. Most of the speakers are great, some struggle with their presentation time and can be a tad slow for me, but I’m sure that’s great for some other folks out there. I do with they had an English dub for everything. I find it hard to read subtitles while trying to learn how to do something and follow along. But it seems like Domestika is working on doing English dubs for most of their videos eventually as every time I look there’s more and more with dubbing. I have a monthly subscription and it’s totally worth it!

I love this app and the unique courses it provides.
I absolutely love that I have the option to subscribe or purchase courses directly. The teachers are professionals in their field and the classes are easy to follow. And I love that they give you the option to be taught by Non-English speaking teachers and they provide the translations(captions). (Some translations are better than others so you have to pay attention to that.) I’ve found specialized courses on here that I have struggled to find anywhere else. I’ve already purchased 10 courses and am working to complete one of the projects this week. It’s been easy to use and watch the videos while on the go and when I’m at my art desk. Once I make it through my purchased courses I’m sure that I’ll be back for more.

Love the content but…
iPhone app is glitchy and can be unusable at times in full screen at landscape. When rotating my screen to landscape, it will sometimes display just the Domestika logo while continuing to play the audio. The video plays as normal once the screen is in portrait mode again, but it’s hard to see anything and makes learning on the go from my phone impossible. Another error I’ve found is the audio from the course’s introduction video will continue playing while I’m watching the actual course. Obviously this prevents me from using the app. Both issues don’t resolve even after force closing the application. I just get lucky and sometimes it works, which is extremely disappointing considering I paid for a full year of Domestika Plus. The mobile site is more reliable but unfortunately lacks some of the features that the app has.

App that actually works well!
The app works well, has deals same as web, and makes it easy to watch classes while using airplay to my Apple TV. Or on the go. Or on the sofa. lol really good, quality instructors with classes that are just the right length. Only complaint? Please please have a real translator (a human being) verbally translate non-English classes. Y’all used to do that but now it’s just captions which makes it harder to read captions, watch the demonstrations and learn at same time. However the classes are easily checked to see what languages are supported before you buy, which is appreciated. All in all really like this service and product.

Best Course Content Out There, but a little problem
Domestika is the absolute best course app I have ever used. The courses’ content is high-quality (way better than Udemy), there are so many resources to enhance our learning, and much more. However, recently, I ran into a problem. In the Domestika app, whenever I try to play any video, it tells me that there is no WiFi signal to watch lessons, even though my WiFi signal is working on other apps just fine. I have tried closing the app and reopening it, checking if there is a new update, and resetting the WiFi router, but the app still does not let me watch videos, which in turn makes it practically impossible to use. Please fix this issue soon, as this is an amazing course app, and I want to keep learning.

Great classes, great app
The app is easy to use and I love every class I have taken. Unlike, ahem, hope they are reading this, Masterclass, Domestika makes it easy to find the classes you have already signed up for and easy to see where you left off. The classes themselves are well presented. The work of the instructors is brilliant. Many, if not most, speak Spanish, so we anglophones are treated to new-to-us people and fresh ideas. Best of all, you are taught the skills to at least start to do what they are doing. Actual practical skills, what a concept. So, easy to use, reasonably priced, instructive and inspiring. Even though the machine translations get a little weird at times, I can't ask for more.

Quality Courses!!!
I have tried various websites/apps for classes (i.e., Skillshare, Craftsy, etc.) but Domestika is by far the best one! The quality of their instructors and classes are phenomenal! I also love that you can purchase a class instead of being required to do a membership to access any of the classes but walk away with nothing once you cancel said membership. I will say their offered membership “plus” option is actually totally worth it, too, because you can “purchase” a class with the monthly credit (“token”) you accumulate with the monthly membership. I highly recommend!!!

I like the idea of the app and have learned a lot
But it’s getting flooded with classes that overlap bf is starting to feel like a money grab. That’s ok, but I wish the app had better tools to let you filter out similar classes from ones you already own so you’re not paying for classes that are very similar to one another. My biggest gripe about the app is I wish it would let you continue where you left off and sort classes you’ve finished from classes you haven’t. Once you buy more than a dozen classes, it gets annoying to scroll things you’ve already watched to get to ones you haven’t, and as the classes can have similar sounding titles it can get tough to remember what you’ve watched and what you haven’t.

Great Courses - App Bugs
I have purchased 15 courses once I learned of the bundles available. All have similar course sequencing that is simple to follow and learn the skills you want. Exercises have all the references of links and pdf’s to make the assignments easy. Problem: When I use the app it freezes at some point and I have to get out of the app and go directly to their website hopefully not getting issues there. As a comment, it would be nice to have a verbal translation option to English. Although I love to listen in their actual voice and read the translation, it is hard to read and watch how to do brush strokes, for example. Please continue to improve and expand as you are providing great content.

Disappointing Experience with False Pricing and Lack of Support
I recently purchased five courses through the Domestika app, which were advertised at $5.99 each. However, I was charged $6.99 per course. To make matters worse, the email receipts falsely state the price as $5.99, while my bank account shows $6.99. This is clear false advertising and misleading pricing. I reached out to Domestika support multiple times, but all I received were automated responses with no real attention to my issue. This has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. I have proof of the false pricing and misleading advertising, and this issue needs to be addressed immediately. I urge Domestika to correct the charges, refund the overcharged amount, and ensure promotional accuracy to avoid potential legal issues. Until then, I cannot recommend this app to others.

Unauthorised Charge and Lack of Customer Support
I recently purchased a course on Domestika, and to my surprise, a month later, they charged me for a yearly subscription without my consent or prior notification. I had no intention of subscribing to an annual plan, and there was no clear warning or reminder before they took the payment. To make matters worse, finding any customer support or contact information on their app or website is incredibly difficult, which feels like an intentional barrier to prevent users from resolving such issues. It’s frustrating and feels deceptive, especially when it comes to unauthorized charges. This experience has left me feeling like the platform is engaging in unethical practices, and I urge others to be cautious when using Domestika. Be sure to carefully check for any hidden fees or automatic subscriptions.

Must have for aspiring artists
I’ve been dabbling in art and drawing for years and still seemed to maintain only an average amount of talent. This has helped my skill immensely and is so much fun. Full of helpful and fun exercises. It is also super awesome they have subtitles because I only speak English! It’s nice to have teachers from other countries, great way to broaden horizons and see artists from around the globe. I’ve got a number of courses I’m enrolled in and can’t wait for more!! Also they have an incredible amount of variety. From vector illustration, to crochet, time management, watercolor, botanical drawing, resin jewelry and just about anything and everything in between.

Even professionals love to learn more!
I have a degree in art, but I still love to learn, because there are always new skills to learn or enhance, or new ways of looking at information you learned long ago. I love Domestika. The instructors are concise and articulate as they communicate a wealth of information in their areas of expertise. One of my favorite aspects of Domestika is that I have the option of purchasing classes outright, so that is how I accumulate the classes that I take when I have opportunities. Here’s to more happy years of experiencing great art and learning through Domestika!

Great app GREAT COURSES!
Learned a lot! Just finished three courses back to back. Haven’t had this much fun since Art school. In fact the Illustration courses here were BETTER than the classes I took in Art school. But, Puño was especially informative, explaining everything in simple detail, getting the best out of us creatively. Being a school teacher I appreciated the way the lessons are given in a sequential manner. In Art school many of the instructors were working artists, but they couldn’t teach. The Domestika teachers know how to convey their ideas/ concepts into practical applications.

Can’t access the courses I paid for without Plus
The app is no use to me if I am unable to access my any of my accounts without having Plus. I have purchased a number of courses that I would like to access on my devices via the app. Forcing customers to get Plus does not help customers who may want to use the app then eventually transfer to Plus, after having a chance to use the app. In addition, their may be individuals who can afford to buy a class, but cannot afford the Plus, so they are at a disadvantage. I get Plus makes money, but you have consumers of all income ranges that use apps and buy your product who would like the convenience of accessing the content on their devices.

Yay for an app!
So excited y’all have an app for this now, after the hassle of using my phone browser for months. Big suggestion: please create an update to search for courses within the “My Courses” section. I find myself having to search the course title I’m working on from scratch in the main search bar every time I open the app. Also would love to see the “My Courses” section of the app organized the way it is in the browser with categories for Started/Not Started & Finished. Thank you!

Love it but …
My primary issue is that my free credit does not show up after paying for the Plus subscription. It’s been almost a month. It’s been so hard to get someone to respond and help with the issue I have. First their support form is buried deep in their site and only found with a Google search, their email contacts sent in the subscription confirmation email isn’t correct and then the response doesn’t match my issue at all. I am not able to use my course without the credit and have lost a month trying to reach someone. I am finally forced to give them a bad review to get their attention.

Not as advertised
I bought one course as a trial promotion. The course was on landscape design. It consisted almost entirely of the instructor discussing what she likes about landscape design and how she personally came to be a landscape designer. Very little information teaching about the actual topic of landscape design. Went to cancel my trial membership on the expiration date and could not. No customer service seems to exist for Domestika. Even the FAQs say that if you’re not able to get a refund through them to dispute the charge through your credit card company, which I did, and was not successful despite nobody being available from Domestika to speak with or email with. Do not recommend.

This is a well crafted and beautiful way to learn
Domestika pulls me in with very single one of their courses. I see an ad on Instagram or Facebook and end up buying a new course! I love how the videos are produced. It makes them easily digestible, and the production value is stellar. I also love that I own the videos after I buy courses unlike other learning platforms m require a subscription model to access videos. I highly recommend you give Domestika a try! Investing in learning something new is priceless.

Several classes
So far classes I have purchased are great! Through and informative, fun, filmed well. I find your website a bit confusing to navigate. And there is currently an ad on Facebook for all classes for a limited time at $5.99 each. In your site however everything is still $6.99. I just purchased five classes anyway because when I went back to Facebook a couple of the classes I wanted we weren’t listed anymore.

FIX IT!!! Initial page is the “PLUS” page with no way to get to my courses!
I am totally frustrated with the Domestika app! I was charged erroneously ( I was able to get credited back, what I determined happened (as it is still happening) is when the app loads, it goes directly to the “PLUS” page, no way that I can see to exit. At the bottom of the page is a “START” button, which I pushed as it was the only visible option, then you’re directed to their plus courses which you now have paid fo by clicking the START button! I’ve stopped the app, reinstalled it, etc. Same page loads. I can’t get to my paid for courses. This needs to be fixed or I want all my money back I paid for many courses!

Too much push for subscriptions
You have the option to purchase a course out right or to subscribe. I have been buying courses since 2020. That’s A LOT of courses. Now, the app keeps pushing for subscriptions and it’s a bit much. I signed in to see a big start button under the Domestika Plus sub ad. I hope that clicking start doesn’t auto-subscribe me. Nearly everything is subscription-based today and I enjoy not adding new bills to deplete my check whenever I can. I’d like to keep purchasing courses more easily as I can, without the beating over the head…Please and thank you.

Hidden charges
They have cool deals where you can get items for cheap if you do a free trial. The free trail does NOT state on it that it will charge you, or the cost of the charge. You have to search through a really badly organized help section to find any information. Then they charge you, and they dont allow any refunds as of 2024 for these plus subscriptions. (I guess due to how many people did not want the subscription that you need a continuous $100 yearly payment in order to keep any items from it anyways) Ive seen multiple reddit posts and even petitions for them to stop this. I mean, adobe was taken to court for this very thing, so hopefully Domestika gets taken to court for it soon too.

No customer support at all (problem fixed)
I’ve been trying to recover my many purchases and all they do is email you back a copy paste of their troubleshoot which I already read on their site. The Just don’t care about you EDIT: so 4 stars only because they take super long to help. But they do get around to it. It was maybe a month or more before the issue I had got fixed. Also if you do a free trial be aware that the yearly will take place not the monthly. But it’s easy to deal with so thanks for that Domestika.

Great community and courses but the app could be better
The community and the courses are top notch. Love how all courses are very streamlined and curated well. But during the use of the app on my ipad had few hiccups. For instance initially when i used it, even though i was connected to wifi and everything was loaded, could not play any videos in the courses and kept getting error messages ‘not connected to wifi’. Later uninstalled and reinstalled, and tht issue was fixed. Im sure the dev team will address these issues. Overall I have no complaints much. Love Domestika.

Love it
I love it. I have taken a few courses and all the courses have pushed me to spread my wings and let it go. There is no judgement just encouragement. I went to art school so some instruction is something I already learnt at university but review is always good. Every course I’ve taken I’ve learnt something new. There is always a course you can take to refresh your skills or to tackle something totally new. I’d encourage anyone to take a course and go for it.

Great variety, new techniques, and inspiration
I feel like I'm getting a great art education at home with Domestika. This year, I've been learning mostly with artists on Patreon. It's been great for going in depth with one single teacher. With Domestika, you're learning specific new skills with various teachers, getting exposure to each of their viewpoints, styles, and techniques. Your art will really go to the next level if you dedicate yourself to the classes!

I love, love, love ❤️ Domestika!!! You can AFFORDABLY 💰learn pretty much any art 🖌️technique or skill. Some classes are in a different language🇧🇷, but just turn on the Closed Captioning and its all good. I just wish 🧞‍♂️this was around when I was younger so that I could have skipped art school 🏫 and saved myself a lot of debt! The courses are art school 🎨quality. I recommend Domestika to all my artist friends! But you don’t have to take my word for it! 📖🌈🦋

Domestika
This is the learning app I’ve been waiting for. No one can teach professional skills better than those who do it for a living and at the highest level. My only nit as someone who doesn’t speak Spanish is more dual language options for the fundamentals would be helpful. Reading subtitles while trying to also watch what is being demonstrated adds a layer of difficulty. Otherwise, love it.

So Much to Learn!
I have purchased numerous Domestica Courses, and have been amazed at the quality of talent using Domestica to showcase their teaching skills. There are classes in several languages, but subtitles in English for English speaking students. See this as an opportunity for world class knowledge. The classes are short but informative and will leave you with a new understanding of what you are wanting to learn. Try a class and see for yourself.

Really like this app and the courses I’ve found. Would really like a way to sort the courses tho. By title and/or subject. Or even group them into folders as a better way to sort now that I’ve purchased quite a few. Would also really like more language options on the courses as it’s hard to follow along when you have to read subtitles. Have seen several courses I’d like but passed up because I would need the audio in English.

I love this app.
I’ve bought many courses in this app but I don’t like that it kicks you out and I have to login again. Once in a while it’s ok but it’s quite repetitive and annoying. (May 2024) Issue is still there. Stop making me login every other day. It’s an annoying experience. I would give this 1 star but the courses are great. And please fix the issue where the “maximize” screen button on the right hand corner sometimes disappears while using the app, but not from the browser.

I love Domestika! The quality of instruction seems much higher than other platforms I've used and I've been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the included resources for many of the classes. Every class I've taken has had subtitles available in English and the quality of the machine translation is quite functional though not perfect. I really care about content if I'm paying for a class and domestika delivers...

Great content; some issues with app
I love the courses I’ve taken so far, particularly Puno’s. The content is great, but I find myself having to close out and reopen the app if I want to go back to a past video lesson; it just won’t play. This would be a five star app if I didn’t have these technical issues. They might not sound like a big deal, but it’s jarring to be in a “learning” mode, and then having to do the whole “unplug, plug back in” thing to keep going.

Great on the iPad
This is easy to navigate, and courses are easy to follow. The instructors are interesting and there are a variety of styles/courses to choose from. My only true challenge is keeping up with the images as I have to read the English subtitles, which makes it hard to keep up with the visuals in the videos. Since the app makes it easy to rewind a section, this is only an inconvenience, not a problem.

Great courses
Stop creating excuses to not improve yourself. You don’t need a car, to break the bank or to get a loan to study, you just need a computer and to invest in yourself. Domestika is a great start for you to be familiar with online education: you don’t need $1000 to enroll or infinite time, you just need $50 to buy at least 3 courses and 30 minutes per day. It will be worth it!

Best deal on the internet
Domestika is the best deal on the internet. You can learn any subject you want, in your own time, and at your own pace. The instructors are people who make a living at what they teach and the individual courses are well thought out and taught sequentially so learning is easy. I highly recommend Domestika over any other online learning platforms.

Variety of Courses!
I love many of the courses, and they’re relatively affordable, and often on sale! However, you need to pay attention as many of them, the audio is in a different language. They have CCs, but, as I like to draw while I watch tutorials, it’s really hard for me to do both. If all classes had English dubbed for me, it’d be my favorite tutorial app! Still love so many of the great artists and instructors on here!
