It would be great if we could link accounts to make reservations all together. This would maximize theater booking while still adhering to cdc social distancing guidelines.
Received an email today saying the New App is up and to download it. So I did. Just a blank screen when opened. Nothing works with their new app. So, I tried to contact their app support online… again a blank screen. Their own support website is down. Not sure what’s going on with EPIC, but they are losing me as a customer with failed apps, unable to purchase tickets in advanced, unable to reach anyone for help or answers, food violations at the local theater, and so much more. Why would I stay or give my business to such a poorly run and slowly failing company?
This app is in serious need of work, companies with far less resources have had better apps than this. You are limited to only selecting movies 7 days out and yet this is the only way to use the elite membership and there are further limitations with accessing any account functions. If you want to cancel your membership with the app good luck as it just times out and doesn’t work. Epic would’ve been better served just adding their membership functions to the already existing Epic Theaters app.
This app will not connect. It just says connection error please try again. Every other app and browser works fine with my phone! The old app stopped working all together and the website says my location has no show times ever! Every othe location the showtimes come right up. It’s only the one I want where I live that will not work. I can’t buy tickets or earn points so I guess I’ll just go to Regal Cinemas. Not happy!
Just received an e-mail glorifying the new app, so what does one do? Naturally, I download it with anticipation and excitement! Womp womp, the app doesn’t even open. After hanging on the launch screen for an eternity I swipe to go back to what I was doing, swipe back to this app and low and behold — I received a technical issues notification! Wow… If your going to launch something new and you send out emails announcing it, for goodness sakes, test it first! 🤦🏾♂️
I have a 12 pro and this app only loads its first logo page and gets stuck there. It’s unusable. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I rebooted the phone. Nothing helped. I really wish Epic could take its app and website more seriously! Even when we go to the theatre we can’t always use the lobby machines to get tickets and apply credit to our Epic rewards account. Heavy sigh!
It should state that the only one theater that accepts this is in NC. I bought into this thinking it would be like the Regal version where one would pay a monthly fee and can enjoy 5 movie trips a month. I spoke to a manager at an Epic Theater location near me and they’ve never heard of this app. Unfortunately the gps cannot detect any other location to use with this and I wonder if this app is really with Epic Theaters at all.
For some reason the Epic Theatre near my house (Stuart) isn't supported by the app. No one at the theater knows this app exists. I’ve been trying to get a refund for the past two days, and no one from customer service has gotten in touch with me. I can't even cancel my subscription in the app. PLEASE either make this app work at my theatre or give me my money back!!!!
This app has not worked for two weeks! Every time that I or anyone I know with the subscription tries to sign in it says, “login denied” and there is no way to reach customer support. I don’t see the point of paying for a subscription that I cannot use.
Would love to be able to use it but the app does not seem usuable at the moment. The opening screen appears saying epic elite but it does not load at all. I left it open and eventually it just times out.
Beware! I got an email this was only a beta program and is now suspended until Jan. My guess is they will raise prices. I am now trying to find a way to cancel my subscription so I will not be charged
I saw the ad for the app in an email from the movie theatre. The app doesn’t work - tried countless times and it gives you a connection error, to speak to customer service. Who would that be?
I’ve been locked out of my account multiple times. Requested account, cancellation and refunds & have been ignored for about a year all while reaching out to multiple corporate managers.
y'all must be stuck in the 20th century not having a functional app in 2023 😏 not to mention you sell gift cards on your website but don't allow people to use them to pay for their tickets on there!! REGAL smokes y'all digitally
Bro, is this for real? Downloaded this app and all I get is a black screen. The previous app…EPIC Theaters, is down. And its been down for months. Says it can’t connect to the server. I can’t even send feedback through the app
According to the App Store there have been no updates in a year. The app doesn’t load and you can’t sign in online. Signed up and did not get my monies worth. Don’t waste your time.
TLDR: The app has been down for almost a month and is still being charged to people. And you are unable to login to cancel the subscription since it can only be done that way. The last time I was able to login to the app was October 23, 2022. I have the 12 movie a month double pass. I have had issues with the app before where it would not let you book movies or just showing zero shows at certain theaters but, now at least four other groups and myself are not even able to login on the app. I tried changing my password and still nothing. I tried reaching out through customer service and nothing. Tried reaching out on twitter and nothing. Attempted filling out the help request form and, you guessed it, nothing. I honestly feel that there is nothing worse than paying for a service you are not receiving. If I paid $100 a month for something and only used $2 worth of it I would not care that is my problem I made that decision. Now paying that same $100 and not even getting the opportunity to spend it all or even use none is a problem. For the icing on the cake, you are not even able to cancel your subscription unless you login on the app, which again whole reason I am here is that you are unable. Epic I am simply holding you accountable for what is happening. There is absolutely no way you do not know this is happening either. You need to fix this issue or shut it down and refund everyone owed. It is a great idea executed acceptably and maintained terribly. At the very least send something to your members so we know what is happening.
For the love of god fix this app it's terrible. Half the time it just won't work. Says connection error or won't log you in, can't show you seats, etc. Never knows you're at the theatre unless you toggle location service on/off each time. I'm now at a point where the app is completely broken and says contact customer service, but they don't have any. Considering I'm paying $19.99/month this is unacceptable.
I bought the pass, 12 movies for 2 people per month for $39.95. It has already paid for itself. They need to have more instructions on how to use it because everybody that’s been complaining about it just doesn’t know how to use it. You purchase your tickets in the app and then when you get to the location of the theater you can check in on the app for your movie. Then you need to go to the kiosk or desk, it should have your confirmation number in the app, and you can just type it in to retrieve your tickets. Print them off and then go enjoy your movie! I hope this helps! I tell everyone about Epic Elite! It’s a great way to be able to see all the movies you want to see at an affordable price!
So I didn’t really want to write this review but I feel like I had to so that other people can be warned. I am a huge fan of epic theaters and wanted this to be a success. But this app is an epic failure.It is super buggy, it crashes all the time, it rarely shows you all the showtimes that are available, pictures of movies are still not loading on the app, seat selection constantly crashes and bugs out. Workers in the theaters don’t even know the process of honoring your membership. It’s just an absolute mess. Once the fix this app and get it running smoothly I may consider coming back but right now it’s not worth the hassle. They also have terrible customer service and no proper links or emails to talk through these problems with the app team. Hope this can change because Epic is a great local chain that I’d like to support in the future once they work things out.
