Does this really frustrating auto capitalization any time you go back and edit something...even if you add to the middle of the word. It’ll keep doing it too, so you have to type the letter a couple times until it’s no longer capitalized then arrow over to delete the capital letters. It can be really distracting during an exam to work around. Also it fills out a blue bubble of the questions answered, but it will do this to questions that aren’t answered as well. So, be very careful to go back and check that all your questions are answered, especially if you did any jumping around.
We use this app all the time at our school for Exams/Quizzes. The new interface is okay, but the old color scheme was WAY better. The new color scheme is kind of difficult to see/differentiate. Honestly, this app has a crazy amount of potential for being great, but they really need to invest more time/money into developing a more user-friendly interface that is simple, efficient, and functional for everyday testing use. It would also be incredible if the test results or file could be downloaded and imported from this app rather than go to an online link to access this. Obviously they instructor can choose to release these files or not.
This is a nice app but it could be much better if we are able to write on the exam itself instead of simply being able to highlight. This would save me a lot of time when taking exams because I would not have to write things out on a separate paper such as chemical structures for instance. It would also be super beneficial to be able to clear the long list of exams that has accumulated or at least sort through it. Plus, I would also like to control the time at which my screen dims. A lot of things that can be improved upon. Thanks!
It is an ok app, personally liked SofTest better. There are a couple of nice improvements. I really dislike the fact that my newest exam that needs to be downloaded or hasn't been taken yet is at the BOTTOM of an extremely long list of completed exams! Allow me to clear those exams, put those in a separate "completed" column or at least sort the exams so that the exam of interest (the newest one) is at the top. Not sure that you people are familiar with how many exams are taken in pharmacy school..... but lets just say multiple per week, in other words this list is too long and continues to grow. PLEASE FIX!!
I use this app frequently. As already stated MANY times, the next test is placed at the BOTTOM of the list of tests. This means that I have to scroll and scroll and scroll and scroll to find the test I need to take next. This is a very easy thing to fix, but the developers evidently could care less, because they choose not to fix it. Also, updates are delayed, and they take a long time to update to a new iOS. . . Which means they recommend you not update your iPad. . . Failure from lazy programmers. It has terrible ratings, but because institutions choose it, students must live with this unfortunately inadequate app. If they took a few weeks of actual work, they could fix many problems, and solve the complaints. Hope that you never have to: -write an essay/fill in the blank question -open an image for a question -take more than 10 exams on the app -want to update your operating system -have to use the app frequently, as eventually the uploads fail. . . Best of luck.
In my schoo we have been using this app to take exam. It wasn’t a big issue until the recent update. With a new interface it’s very confusing to see what is the answer you choose. They all look the same to me. Next highlight doesn’t work even if professor enable this option. The worst is when you try to upload the exam, there is no clear notification that would allow you right away to see if you able to upload it or not. It used to pop up the yellow screen. Now it wasn’t. The new customer service is just another issue, they need to learn how to talk to customers and not to raise their voice.
Examplify has a disorganized interface when compared to that of SofTestM which neatly organized exams into categories as you downloaded, took, and submitted them. The option to directly access exam grades from the app has also been removed, which means I now have to navigate to examsoft's website, and login to see my exam grades. With SofTestM I simply had to press one button and I was directly navigated to my grades. Please add this feature back in.
Examsoft was great on the iPad. Had a good user interface that was pleasing to look at. This app looks like it should be from Windows 95. It’s completely greyscale with graphic icons from that era. Examsoft was colorful and the layout was so much easier to navigate when taking an exam. I hope the developers read these reviews and decide to recode Examplify to look like Examsoft. It’s great that we don’t have to go into guided access with Examplify anymore but the user interface is about 10 steps back. Will keep using since i’m forced to by my educational institution but please please please redesign this app to have a better user interface.
Works well, good functionality, easy to use. Some easy fixes that would vastly improve it? Put completed assessments at the bottom, not the top. For failed assessment uploads (say, missed upload deadline) eventually have it "time out" and stop giving an error message every time. I've had to delete the app and reinstall it several times to circumvent this frustration. Otherwise, solid.
I have never seen a website struggle so hard to accomplish a successful login. It's a game of random chance trying to get anything to work. Sometimes it works for no reason and most of the time you'll have to try again another day just to get on the website to read your score. I can only imagine this started as a prank on higher education and then administrations actually started paying for it. God have mercy on your soul if you're forced to use it.
I don't know why there are so many negative reviews. As a student I've had mostly good experiences taking exams on examsoft. I started using it 2 years ago and at first there were some issues with highlighting but it has been perfect since that got fixed. My only suggestion would be to be able to download the results doc from the app and not have to go online.
The app uploaded my answer file as “corrupt” so it cost me both my grade in MED SCHOOL, and a long time on the phone with customer service who just read the same things I was sent in email. Additionally they had to look up answers for every question I sent and were incredibly hard to understand. It cost me several hours on the phone over 3-4 days just to make no progress. I would not wish this level of service on my worst enemy. HORRIBLE, AVOID AT ALL COST.
Downloaded the app to my iPads but upon registering to add an account you have to add your institution and they don’t have my institution’s program listed in the app. They only have one program from my college for the app version. Please update with full list of institutions programs in registration.
The overall app is good but there are so many little bugs. During writing an essay, if you ever have to hit the delete button, it automatically capitalizes the next letter typed. Also when downloading exams the most recent ones are at the bottom of the list, which is fine until you have been 40 or 50 classes worth of tests in the completed list so the newest tests are at the very bottom of an endless amount of swiping.
One new update made the calculator useable! There are still QoL problems like autofilling the last answer whenever a math operator is pressed after a result, instead of giving a invalid input. Sometimes the app crashes, which causes some undue heart attacks.
Cannot find school even though it uses this program for exams
Cannot find my school even though it uses this program for all of our exams and midterms. I can find it on the Mac/windows program but I cannot find it on the iPad. If I can find my school ID on the Mac program, I should be able to find it on the iPad version. And if not, then it doesn’t make sense why I can only use it for one but not the other.
My university uses this app for every test we have. It worked okay for the first few months but all off the sudden it won’t allow me to open my tests. It just says “loading” and then stops. I have had to take my last 5 exams on paper because of this. Not that I’m complaining, I prefer to take paper tests, but this product is still a broken piece of crap.
My classmates and I have been struggling with technical issues for the entire *three years* of pharmacy school. It’s simply terrible. There should be an entire class in our curriculum dedicated to troubleshooting technical issues with this godforsaken app. I wouldn’t give it any stars if that were possible.
Ok the app isnt that bad overall but i rated it one star becuase i am really annoyed and want them to fix it. Whenever you type mid sentence or edit something when typing on an exam, it capitlizes a letter. It keeps doing it and makes writitng any type of report or answer to essay questions really annoying. Once that is fixed i will update my review.
I like your app. It’s simple and professional. What annoyed me is the inability to highlight MCQs . It used to work perfectly when I did my exams on pc or laptop. Fix it please ASAP before my exam comes 😢
Examplify doesn’t come out with an update at the same time as iOS does. Therefore our school does not allow us to use out iPads as testing devices if we have updated our iOS software. it would be nice if Examplify would stay on top of that so everything could update and be functional at the same time.
Does not scroll if you have bigger figures in the question
When the question contains long enough figure requiring you to scroll down to select options, this app always gets stuck. I have to scroll ten times in a highly stressful exam environment to scroll down.
Like another user said, completed exams need to go somewhere else or at the bottom of the list. Not sure why the developers wouldn't do that but definitely a growing problem, literally.
After using this app for 30 minutes I felt a sharp pain in my heart. I went to the doctor later that day and he gave me bad news. He told me I have stage four cancer. He said it was strange that I never felt anything befor but I was going to die. I think its from Examplify. One star, tell by dog he can have the coke
My school is not available on the iPad version, only the desktop version. Such a silly problem, and should be extremely easy to fix, yet apparently this issue dates back nearly a decade.
There is a zoom in issue on the latest version. Before, there was no issue. Seems like the situation is getting worse. It is really annoying that I cannot see the full question :) Please return to the old version.
The app glitched out and froze my entire iPad during an exam. Then, after restarting my iPad, I can no longer open up the app without it crashing. I hope this gets fixed fast
Worked on my iPad until few days ago now requires iOS13
My iPad didn’t get iOS 13 support but now all the sudden iOS 13 is required for this new version and without the update I can’t access the app. What an useless app.
You need a new UI designer. One thing that would help would be putting a filter on the exams so we can avoid scrolling through every exam we’ve ever taken... the list gets longer and longer. Also I’d like to get my test scores in the app.
It works ok on an iPad, but I could not enter the app using a laptop. Told me that it couldn’t work on a device with arms processors, but my laptop doesn’t have that and I could never open the app on my computer.
Lots of potential, but way to many headaches when attempting to do calculations on a calculator for iPad. It honestly puts you at a disadvantage. Use a computer for any exponent based mathematics. Also, different calculators between iPad and Mac laptop users... What GIVES
Exams not populating, I have to reset my password every single exam, having to constantly work with my professor to reload the exams on exam day, cutting into my exam time. Do not recommend if you are a school look elsewhere.
For example, if the given institution wants to remove backwards navigation and administer a 100question exam with a time limit of an hour, then examplify shouldn’t allow them to do so. It’s unfortunate for the students on many levels.
I had so much trouble talking exams for school and I could not even log in on other devices to fix the issue. My university accommodated but it was still an inconvenience.
Has so many glitches, sometimes restarts your exam and typing in it is horrible. One of my exams had select all that apply but it only allowed me to pick one answer. Delete this app and tell schools to stop forcing us to use it.
If I could give this a zero I would. This app is so bad for taking test on. Schools need to find a better a seriously. Is so hard to make a test. Can’t make math test on here.
When free typing an answer, the App capitalizes each letter after you backspace. Drives me nuts and makes my timed writing assignments look awful and unprofessional.
It is frustrating that I can not use the app on my iPad. I highly suggest adjustments be made for the accommodation of Examplify to be utilized by someone using an iPad.
Examsoft was a much better app. Currently I’m dealing with... 1. An extremely long list of exams I cannot clear/delete or sort through. 2. Scrolling to the bottom of said list to download new exams 3. A screen that constantly dims. Seriously, every 15 seconds the screen dims as if my iPad is about to sleep. 4. Constant notifications about failed exam uploads Can these things please be fixed?
Poorly optimized and formatting for questions can be really messed up. Open-ended questions have constant problems, like letters being permanently capitalized. Terrible app stick to normal paper Exams
This app has failed to support iOS 17 and is worthless on new apple devices. This is a neglectful approach to take with a software required by many schools.
