If I log into my account I should be able to see and use my tickets from my app. Really need some updates. Maybe be able to see restaurants, menus and be able to pay by the app.
This app while to some may seem pointless I found incredibly helpful when my kids stole and promptly lost the paper map (like every single time we’ve ever gone to any zoo) and decided they NEEDED to see certain animals. I loved the you are here dot on the zoo map it took a lot of the guess work out of everything. All and all I think it’s brilliant. If the developers are reading this perhaps the only way to make this even more handy would be gps style turn by turn directions to things like the nearest bathroom or popular exhibits.
Downloaded the app after seeing a note on the website. I figured it would enhance our experience while at the zoo. After exploring the features ahead of time the only purposeful use case for the app would be to access the map and the pinned insights on the animals. Unfortunately, the map is worthless since multiple attempts to use it causes the app to crash each time. The additional insights are the exact same information from the website. No self guided tour, videos, or anything inherent to an enhance (digital) experience. Stick with a paper map and use their website if you’re looking for additional animal insights. It’s sad to see money was spent and Spark Creative didn’t deliver any benefits to the visitor’s experience.
The Fort Worth zoo just released this brand new app and the map still is horrendous. It is too cumbersome to use doesn’t show you where you are and doesn’t give you any good details. There is another app out there that is 10 times better that is specifically for the zoo and has the map and all the points of interest including bathrooms, food, and exhibits I highly recommend the other app.
This app has been helpful. Also, I have a fairly general “Zoo” idea.. It would be awesome if we could add our membership card (info and barcode) to the Apple Wallet for more convenient access. 😁
The app was difficult 😥. I didn’t use it . The app should follow you on the zoo map. And the zoo! There was no animals. we saw about 15 animals no elephant not many birds 🦢. And we were there for about three hours!I enjoyed the sting rays but they only gave you 1 fish for two dollars for the sting rays to eat! And the lettuce 🥬 was six dollars 💵! For the giraffes 🦒.the giraffes were fun. And the food was good. I wouldn't recommend going.
I was hoping that I could reach my account and view tickets and such. But nope. Most things are just links that open in a browser. Which defeats the purpose of a native app.
The map could be interactive in that it shows where you are. Tickets could be purchased and displayed digitally for scanning. It would be nice to push alerts/reminders for the different daily keeper chats, shows, and events. Maybe even have a list where patrons can check the boxes for the events/shows they want to attend and the app sends a reminder 15 minutes before so people can get there. Maybe include a scavenger hunt where kids can go and have to find something and take a picture of it and get a tshirt on the way out if they show all the pictures. Beautiful zoo though :)
Zoom to location? Crash. Zoom out? Go to far and show gridlines instead of stopping you from zooming out to far. Viewing map? Can’t click on exhibits to see what they are.
Map is not very functional and definitely not designed for use on a mobile app. Web store should be integrated into the app with Wallet support. The other zoos using this app developer show that better maps can be added to the Fort Worth Zoo app.
