Great App with Room for Improvement
I have been using this app for quite some time now, and I must say that I absolutely love it. The books available are amazing, and the overall experience is great. However, there are a few areas where I feel the app could be improved. Firstly, I would love to see more characters unlocked at a time. It can be a bit frustrating to have to wait for a new character to be unlocked, especially when you're really invested in the story. It would be great if the app could offer more options for character selection. Secondly, the time between chapters can sometimes feel too long. I understand that the app wants to create anticipation and keep users engaged, but waiting for a long time between chapters can be a bit tedious. It would be nice if the time between chapters could be shortened to keep the momentum of the story going. Lastly, I find it confusing why some books have different time intervals between chapters. It seems inconsistent and doesn't make much sense to me. It would be helpful if the app could provide some clarity on why this is the case. Overall, I think this app has a lot of potential and provides a great reading experience. With a few improvements, such as unlocking more characters at a time and reducing the time between chapters, it could become even better. I hope the developers take these suggestions into consideration and continue to enhance the app for an even more enjoyable reading experience.

I love this app but if you few a things that wish to could be to change with would only get chapter day understand could wanting people to subscribe. I wish we could have 3-5 chapters a day or give give 2 chapters every two or hour or something. I fee that there are different a better ways to get people to subscribe. It feels like we are basically forced to subscribe to actually enjoy the book or even read. If that was the case I could just use kindle instead. I was never big on reading books online or on my phone, but this is a game changer. I kept seeing people talk about it on Facebook and decided to give it a try. I'm happy I did outside of what I stated earlier about the subscription issue. I love it there's plenty varieties. I found some things I never thought I would be interested in. Like the audio feature is also nice it helps me get a feel for the chapter. Usually I prefer it quiet while I read. I was never big on reading books online or on my phone, but this is a game changer I love it there's a variety of books to read. I would recommend this app to others. I've also tried the sister app and I enjoyed that also it's lotta similarities minus the subscription thing. I don't understand why we'd have to be on a 20 minute call to earn more points when you're not doing anything different on the 20 minute call but giving a review when we can type a review that takes less than five minutes.

Best reading app ever
I'm a big fan of reading books with different styles that are put into it. I like how the app gives you a visual feel to the story along with sound, it helps boost the imagination of the story. Two things that I personally think should be improved are the ways to obtain points (vou need them if vou don't want to wait for the chapter to unlock) and the time length of the story. I think that the amount of how much points you need to unlock one chapter a bit much. You only earn one point a day and that's only if you comment on a story; I believe that we can have login bonuses where each day we login to the app we earn a certain amount of points and/ or we can watch short ads that can get us points. Now as for the wait time you only unlock one chapter per day at a certain time. It's nice to know all the stories your reading a new chapter comes out at the same time, but some people don't have patience to wait a whole day just for one chapter. It's either we have more chapters unlock at that time (for me they unlock at 7am everyday why not have 2-3 chapters unlocked at that time) or have chapters unlock every few hours (like one chapter at 7am, then another at 12pm, then one more 5pm...and so on). I would love to get in contact with vou quys about the ideas vou can put but I don't do audio calls like in the app u suggest as a way to earn points. I was planning on keeping this review short but it ended up long

It’s pretty great
This app is very well organized; pretty clean cut. I started using this app an hour and a half ago and fell in love with their genres. They give you a few free chapters per story and then when those run out, you have two choices. 1) wait some hours for the next chapter to become available to you or 2) pay money to get the next chapters immediately (you can pay to unlock the whole book). There are monthly subscriptions but you can also just purchase coins whenever you need to without subscribing. The only reason I’m giving it a 4/5 instead of a 5/5 is because of the wait time. I understand 30-60 minutes but seven hours is excessive. Which I suppose is the point, how else are they gonna make money? I do wish there was a better and faster way for my broke self to obtain chapters faster. You can watch a bunch of ads to gain points but I do wish that we weren’t limited to only 10 ads a day (2 points per ad and a chapter costs 10 points). There are other small annoying tasks you can fulfill but you’ll run out pretty fast. But you do get daily points as rewards for completing a chapter! (a point for a chapter/ no additional points per extra chapters) On the fifth day you get 5-6 points. So I think changes should be made but it’s a legit app and so far there aren’t any ads unless you request them for points. It also has an audio feature for most books that give background noise/music appropriate to the situation! I love that feature!

I enjoy reading and listening to the variety or styles. I enjoy now ine app combines sound and visual elements to give you a sense of the story; this lets the story's imagination soar. The methods for obtaining points (you need them if you don't want to have to wait for the chapter to unlock) and the duration of the story are two elements that, in my opinion, may use improvement. I find the number of points required to unlock one chapter to be a bit excessive. You can only receive one point per day if you leave a comment on a story. I like that we can have login incentives where we get a specific number of points every time we check in to the app, or we can watch brief advertisements to get points. Regarding the waiting period, you can only unlock one chapter each day at a specific time. It's convenient to know that every story you're reading has a new chapter available at once, but some individuals (me) don't have the patience to wait an entire day for a single chapter. It would be nice if we could get at least 3 chapters a day or at different times of the day. Also can there be more options to open points other than the "20 minute feedback call" because I don't like calling people and also being on call for a 20 minute review when I just typed this in about 3 minutes is very unnecessary. All honesty we just want to read y'alls amazing books but it get annoying sometimes when you have a very short patience and only get 1 chapter a day.

Love the stories
I love the stories, some I can really get into even if it’s just a romance. So many different authors giving good story lines. I have read so many of the books here and I didn’t at first like the long wait but it was ok because I don’t need to sit around all day reading. The points system WAS ok also and most of the time I would buy points just so I could read on but now on one story I’m ready the points went from 10 points to 16 and now 22. What’s worse than that is you can’t read the next chapter for 22 hours unless you use the 22 points. To me that is ridiculous. This really makes me upset at the way Galatea has changed things from bad to worse. I can’t afford to pay for points when the amount goes up so high. I once bought the 100 points and used them all to finish a book but the points for each chapter was 10, the book was really good and I didn’t want to wait. I can’t do that now if it’s gonna cost me 22 points a chapter or more. It was bad enough to wait 6 hrs but that isn’t as bad as having to wait a whole day. You say it’s to help your authors so maybe more people will pay for membership but I can’t afford the price of that. That’s why I read the other way. I’m afraid you will lose more readers by changing the amount of the points, because I’m tired of watching the same ads all the time over and over to get more points too. They take up your time also. Why change a good thing?

Two things that I personally think should be improved are the ways to obtain points (you need them if you don't want to wait for the chapter to unlock) and the time length of the story.

Pretty Good
I enjoy how the app combines sound and visual elements to give you a sense of the story; this lets the story's imagination soar.

Honest Review
So I’ve seen a lot of reviews on this app that just say the same thing over and over. Here’s my honest opinion of the app. Over all the experience reading the books in enjoyable, especially those with the “immersive experience” that gives background sounds to the story and make it that much more vibrant. I also highly enjoy the availability of the audiobooks for when I want to listen to something while I’m getting house work done. I went ahead and did a subscription because of the amount of books I’m going through. I do understand that people want to be able to access more freely but you also have to understand that these authors are only making money if the app is making money. That’s how it works and these authors, though they enjoy writing, deserve to be compensated for the hard work they have put into these books for our entertainment. On a side note… the app does seem to glitch every once in a while and I have had to uninstall and reinstall it in order to make it work again because even though updates have occurred, oddly you can’t just click update like you do with most other apps. Not sure if this is an issue in the programming or what but it’s a bit time consuming and annoying. However, it’s not dire and I assume it will be addressed at some point. Over all a very good app with a wonderful variety of books and audiobooks to choose from.👍🏻👍🏻

Awesome stories-buggy app!
Update April 12, 2023 I hope my review is posted/read bc it seems all the ones in the App Store were basically the same. Anyway I don’t have to delete and reinstall the app as often as before so the updates have helped. I don’t get the crazy scaling up of the time & points on some of the books. I’m trying to read “When the Night Falls” and it started out with a 6h timer between chapters or 10 points to go early. I’m only on chapter 13 and now have a 30h timer or 18 point cost. That is up from yesterday’s 24h wait or 16 point cost. This makes no sense to me that it adds 6h more each time. There are 43 chapters in this story at this rate I won’t finish it this year. 🫤 I have had the Inkitt app for many years and enjoyed it so I loaded this one and really have enjoyed the stories I got to read however I only finished the few I started due to being an avid reader and persistence bc I had to delete and reinstall the app about every 2-3 days. I did contact support and they told me the same stuff I read on the help menu. One time I lost my ad points though support was able to give those back. This last time I have lost my reading streak and it set me back to day one, which is where I get some of my points. I love to read and while this app has some good stories for me there are plenty of other stories to read without the hassle.

Good selection of books, however..
Gatea has a diverse selection of romance novels, so it makes it a great application because you won’t get bored with the selection. A feature I really like is the immersive reading with the music and effects you can choose to have on with many of the books. Honestly the only downfall this application has is the point system, there are ways for you to earn points without having to buy them. That being said if you’re deep into the middle of the book and you’ve run out of unlocked chapters it’s likely you will go through all of the different ways to unlock points. You’ll have to wait six hours for the next chapter to be unlocked after reading your last chapter if you don’t want to buy the points. Six hours is entirely too long to wait when you’re in the middle of a good story that you can’t put down. The thing I don’t get is why they don’t just have a monthly subscription option for a reasonable fee rather than the only option being a yearly subscription. Mind you the yearly subscription is about 60 bucks and that’s too deep for my pockets, especially when I can just go to the library and find something to read. I hope they change this up because I certainly don’t have the patience to do this for every single book I want to read. All in all it’s a good app, if you don’t mind paying the money I say go for it, or if you have the patience to wait to unlock the chapters then it’s a great app.

I love it but more chapters a day and points improvement
I love reading books. They tell a story. I like the app but I wouldn’t say I love it or exactly recommend in first maybe third or fourth choice for reading app recommendations. The reason I say this is because the stories are great. But the things you have to do to get to the next chapter isn’t exactly worth it. You have to wait 35 hours (a day and 11 hours) for the next chapter (one chapter) I think for the wait to be that long there should be at least 3 chapters unlocked a day. Some people aren’t patient to wait especially if we are waiting that long just to only unlock one chapter. Second, the number of points to skip the wait is a bit excessive. We only earn one point for logging in each day. They only option to earn points(if you have done some of the other steps but you only get one chance to do so) is to watch ads but you only earn 2 points at a time and you only get to watch a few ads at a time then, you have to wait till 7 am to watch more. Or, you could buy points but not everyone has the time, money, or wants to do that. Also, you can earn more points by scheduling a 20 minute feedback call. But I think 20 minutes and calling is completely unnecessary if I just wrote this review in under 2 minutes. Overall, the stories are good and the app is great but it needs some improvement and adjustments.

Honest Review
This app has exactly the books I’ve wanted to read, and the thing is, I hate reading. With that being said, the flaws that come with this app make it incredibly frustrating to read, for starters, they give you two chapters for free and then make you wait 6 hours to read the next chapter, one SINGLE chapter, and if you manage to build up points and pay with them, they increase the wait times, I went from having to wait 6 hours, then it was 11, and yesterday it was 17 HOURS for a SINGLE chapter. The second issue I have is that they have free books that you can unlock chapters for free but for a limited amount of time, they gave me this book for free and I was starting to enjoy it! The downside was that when my time was up and the book reset, they put me on chapter 6 which I had already read, and expected me to wait 6-24 hours just for me to get to chapter 7 even though I had read up to chapter 30, there’s absolutely no WAY i was gonna wait 6 hours for each chapter all the way up to 30 when I wasn’t even going to be reading them. The unfortunate thing is that for most of these books I literally couldn’t find them anywhere else, I looked everywhere and was even willing to purchase them, but they’re stuck on this app. This app made me kind of like reading, but the flaws outweigh the good of this app, therefore, I’m deleting it. Unless you like to wait up to 17 hours for a single chapter, I’d steer clear of this app.

I honestly see why this is the number 1 reading app. It is so good and has a really good choice for getting coins to get chapters. Like almost every reading app, the first couple of chapters are free. After that, you have to pay for it but unlike some reading apps you don’t just have to buy the coins (it makes me so mad when other reading apps are like that 😭) but you get to watch ads, specifically 10 per day and it resets at 7 am. For each ad you watch you get 2 coins so you can get up to at least 20 coins per day if you do this for 7 days then you get an extra 5 coins on the 7th day and on the other days, you get an extra coin. Of course, it doesn’t have to stop there because you have the option of buying coins. You also get to wait if you don’t want to or can’t afford to spend money on a game. It takes about 5 hours then you get to read another chapter and so on. Also for some of the books you get an option for there to be sound to make it better but you don’t have to do it which I actually kind of like and I don’t think it’s like that for any other reading apps. Overall it is the best reading app I have found and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good reading app. P.S. It just depends on what book you pick but the smut I have found differs there’s some where it’s just 🥵

Pretty cool
I find the sound feature in the app pretty cool as na immersive experience. It’s like a little imagination guide as you go through and read the story. I do appreciate all the different kinds of styles in each story, but there are definitely some that should not be on the app at all. There are some stories about SA and there is a warning, but despite knowing what the main character is doing is SA it as shown as normal or attractive??? That is definitely not okay. It’s horrible, actually. Anyone reading it could get the wrong idea about SA and its implications. That being said, there are many many other stories that keep you entertained without overstepping. If you don’t want to pay to get points, they have other methods you can complete to get points for free and then use them on chapters you want to unlock, otherwise you need to wait anywhere from 5hrs-2 days, which is fine by me. I much like the way it gives you your daily dose of the story and leaves you be so that you’re able to pace yourself. Overall, functionality is great, most of the stories I’ve read, I’ve liked, other than the few that take a turn for the worse a few chapters in in terms of plot and character arcs. Plus, if you’re looking for some spice in your stories, then this app is the way to go, just be prepared for seeing some ideas or values you may not agree with in some stories.

Some great books!
I’ve read about 20 (give or take) books now and I must say, as long as you’re picking genre of books that will interest you, there are some great reads! A few have been too boring for me and I couldn’t finish them, but definitely more that were great and captured me right to the end. A couple of them are so good that I still wish I never finished them and I was still reading more, like there’s more story continuing from where they ended at. The only thing I absolutely hate with this app is the points system. Either you unlock chapters with 10 points if you have them, or else you have to wait 6 hours to unlock and read the next chapter. Every chapter this is happens. You can spend money for buying more points, which I did a lot of and I’m now beyond broke from too many times doing that. I wish they would lessen the wait time considerably, or did something better then only 5 adds worth 2 points each a day. More points per add, or no limit to the adds in a day would be great. I’m willing to watch a couple adds berween every chapter instead of the 6 hour wait if that was an option instead. I wanna be able to binge read so badly, and I can’t do that with this App. I end up starting to read 2-3 books at one time because of this and it kills me. Otherwise, the App is a pretty good one if you love to read, in my opinion.

The app and some stories I’ve read.
The Goodreads app is an excellent tool for tracking your reading progress, discovering new books, and connecting with other readers. The app's user interface is sleek and easy to navigate, making it a pleasure to use. One of the standout features of the app is the ability to create custom bookshelves and track your progress as you read. This is particularly useful for avid readers who like to keep track of the books they've read, the books they want to read, and the books they're currently reading. The app also includes a social aspect, allowing you to connect with friends and other users who share your reading interests. You can see what your friends are reading, leave comments and reviews, and join groups to discuss specific books or genres. In addition to its social features, the app is a great resource for discovering new books. The app's recommendation engine is surprisingly accurate, and the ability to browse curated lists of books by genre, author, or topic makes it easy to find your next great read. Overall, I highly recommend the Goodreads app to anyone who loves reading and wants to connect with like-minded individuals. It's a great way to stay organized, discover new books, and share your thoughts and opinions with a community of fellow book lovers.

Impressed & grateful....
I have to be honest and say I wish I had found this app years ago. MANY years ago. I own well over 1,000 different titles. Now, with this app, I can even travel with reading material of a vast variety. As an avid reader, I have been reading multiple stories at once. All have been captivating and stimulating to the imagination. Being able to purchase points at a VERY low & reasonable price gives Galatea an advantage over other apps.....but being able to earn points by reading, and through other offers, give a special bonus to the Galatea app! The fact that reading sections open every 6 hours instead of every 24 hours & each book has its own timer, makes Galatea the only reading app I use!! I truly appreciate this app. Being disabled, I do a LOT of reading. This way I always have some reading material on me and I can change what I am reading any time I want to whatever type I want. Thank you to the creators! I give Galatea 5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ EDIT TO ADD...I have submitted this this review already a couole weeks ago and I am still waiting for my points. Aside from that, I have tried sevwral other apps in the last couole weeks. Andnonce again, Galatea is the ONLY one I have kept on my phone. I am still impressed and I am loving the selection of books available. Thanks again, Galatea!!

Good app but waits are too long
This app is amazing. It has long story’s of all different genres and they really keep you on the edge of your seat and while you can watch 10 adds to get 20 points which you can purchase 2 chapters with it is still a little over kill that you have to spend around 5-10 minutes watching ads in order to do so and if you don’t you have to wait 6 hours for another chapter. With sleeping 6 hours can go by fast, but when your reading an amazing book and you’re shaking uncontrollably with anticipation just to get to the end and wait a quarter of an entire day to read on other episode is disappointing. There are a decent amount of ways that you can get points but once you do them all you can’t do them again so like I said the app is amazing, but it would be a million times better if the wait time could be cut down to something smaller like 1 hour. Waiting 6 hours I personally lose interest and I just can’t see myself getting through 300 chapters of my current story while having to wait 6 hours in between each chapter unless I watch 10 ads which once again only gets me so far. If this problem doesn’t get fixed I recommend getting more apps similar like Radish or even watt pad to read while your waiting and pass the time. Thank you for the amazing app and stories that fill it.

Like so far
Pretty good app so far. I am totally engulfed in the current book I am reading. It is so good. I like the choice to do audio if you prefer, personally I enjoy reading books myself. The one thing I might change is the length of a chapter as you have to pay with coins per chapter. I feel like I don’t have much reading time in between each one. Otherwise I am really enjoying the app so far! ***UPDATE*** I wanted to update my review after using the app for a longer period of time. There have been a couple changes, like amount if points per ad which is good. Right now I have enough points that I’m not worried but I still find myself panicking about running out and having to wait 6 hours for 1 short chapter and only getting 1 point per comment doesn’t help considering its still 10 per chapter. I understand they have to do things to keep the app running but I still firmly believe that in the end I end up paying more for 1 book than I would for 3 actual hard/paperback books..and those are not cheap. There are so many free options on iBooks and Kindle which I also avidly use but what keeps me here is the amount of books that are totally in my wheelhouse and are more accessible as they recommend several at a time for you, which means I don’t have to search. Anyway, hopefully the point system will get better.

Good material, bad platform
I’ve used Galatea for over 6 months now and they offer enjoyable content. The quality is way above that of Dreame, GoodNovel etc though still a little below that of traditional paper books. Unfortunately, it also comes with problems. After a recent email exchange with the support department I wrote them a response that I include below. Reviews cover both the good and the bad of a business and potential users should have access to both. Adjusting timers etc is highly improper behavior. It makes your platform untrustworthy, unreliable and undesirable. You’ll need to improve your behavior if you want to retain users, much less grow your audience. Additionally, you offer a “monthly” price without monthly payments - app users don’t want to drop $60+ all at once. You may offer interesting books but without a proper business plan that accounts for what the general public wants, you’ll rightly lose your market. Bait and switch is how that starts. Your premium or subscription products as well as your wait-for-the-next-chapter works need to be chosen and categorized BEFORE you make them available to the reader base. No playing around with 6, 14, 20, 36 hours etc. until you can access the next chapter. No playing around with people getting through “book 1” and halfway through “book 2” of a multi-book download and then changing it to premium access only. That’s unreliable and unreasonable behavior, and no one likes that.

GREAT APP WAITS ARE TOO LONG
This app is amazing. It has long story's of all different genres and they really keep you on the edge of your seat and while you can watch 10 adds to get 20 points which you can purchase 2 chapters with it is still a little over kill that you have to spend around 5-10 minutes watching ads in order to do so and if you don't you have to wait 6 hours for another chapter. With sleeping 6 hours can go by fast, but when your reading an amazing book and you're shaking uncontrollably with anticipation just to get to the end and wait a quarter of an entire day to read on other episode is disappointing. There are a decent amount of ways that you can get points but once vou do them all you can't do them again so like I said the app is amazing, but it would be a million times better if the wait time could be cut down to something smaller like 1 hour. Waiting 6 hours I personally lose interest and I just can't see myself getting through 300 chapters of my current story while having to wait 6 hours in between each chapter unless I watch 10 ads which once again only gets me so far. If this problem doesn't get fixed I recommend getting more apps similar like Radish or even watt pad to read while your waiting and pass the time. Thank you for the amazing app and stories that fill it.

Life changing
Not even going to lie. This changed my life. I went from sleeping while reading the first few words on a book to reading 9 different stories from books at a time. This app is the best. Maybe it’s the immersive part of story reading I like or the sound effects while reading each story or even the fact that the stories are short so your anticipation is high when the short stories end, but this is the best app ever. I used to try to read actual books, or the kindle app, or even iBooks, all of which I felt were uninterested for. But once I heard of this app, I downloaded it, started reading and I AM HOOKED! I love the fact that you read each line at a time and that the stories are short leaving a sort of cliff hanger because it makes you want to read more. Books lack this with all its words on one page which makes it overwhelming, (mostly when your reading a bit book like Harry Potter and see not only a whole bunch of words on one page, but a whole lot of pages). I like that even though these books are long, we get a little at a time. Right now I’m reading 9 stories: (The Millennium Wolves, The Alpha’s Call, Her Possessive Guard, Savage, Reaper’s Claim, The Arrangement, Colt, The Price Possession, and Devil vs Alpha). ALL ARE GREAT! Much Thanks to the inventor of this app and to the authors of these immersive stories !!!

Keep An Eye on Access to Library
Overall I am happy with the Galatea App. It’s has books that are not too amateurish written or obviously written in Chinese then translated badly into English like 90% of the other reading apps. It also doesn’t have a majority of books that appear to follow Chinese or another Asian countries culture, while attempting to be written as a story of an American hero/heroine. Pay very careful attention though to the books you’ve purchased chapters to in your Library. I had purchased the complete set of a series, did not log into the app for a couple of months & my access to books I’d previously purchased and read was blocked. It took numerous emails to get those books ‘opened’—all while Customer Service NEVER responded to the emails. Also—some of the books require ‘Membership’ ‘unlimited’ purchasing. It does not allow for monthly pricing—only the yearly at $70 (rounded up). I’ve not become a member. I joined a different app’s unlimited & discovered that unlimited is not a true definition of the word—it was literally the amount of ‘coins’ that would coincide with the amount of the membership vs coins. I do not know if Galatea follows that format of limited unlimited reading as I can’t afford $70 and only read when it’s free now, especially after I couldn’t access my previously purchased books.

I like the books but don’t like the wait time or point system
I love the books they have kept me interested in reading them. The only issues I have with the app is 1) the wait time. The waits typically start at 6 hours or skip for 10 points but for some stories the wait time and points to skip increases. I have so far gotten up to a 36 hour wait time. 2) the point system. There are only 10 ads that you can watch and you only get 2 points per ad. If you only watched the ads then you would only get 20 points that you could either read 2 chapters if you chose to skip the wait and the points to skip stay the same, if the points do change then you would be using most or all of your points for the one chapter. I don’t like having to wait over a day to read a chapter for it to be short sometimes. I have noticed from the books that I have read is that it seem like the longest wait times are on the books with shorter chapters. I also have done everything I could to get points from the other options. I don’t know if anybody else has had an issue the the refer a friend point option I have tried to do it multiple times with multiple different friends, we followed the instructions and did exactly what it said to do it didn’t work any of the times that we had did it.
