Gamer DVR - Share game clips

I really enjoy this app! I especially enjoyed it back when Xbox didn’t really have anything in their Xbox app that let you straight up save your clips, I’d like the app and really found it convenient and easy to use, but recently since around I believe October if I remember correctly, this app started having a weird bug so I am making one of my first ever reviews to help bring attention to this and get it fixed. As I’ve seen it mentioned in the past reviews, mostly the most recent ones I hope you guys can fix this as for im not the only one which did come to mind because I have a really broken iPhone lol. Anyway, you can literally only watch one video at a time before needing to close the app and open it up again, this happens when you go on full screen mode and it doesn’t let you exit out, so the only option is to reboot the app. Other than that I have nothing else to complain about, this app is great and easy to use! Will come back and change my 4 stars to five if this is ever fixed.

If your a gamer or use social media, this app is great! You can easily upload clips to your camera roll or instantly share them to twitter or instagram. The only problem I have had with the app is that whenever I share my fortnite clips to Instagram, it cuts out the sides of the screen and the clip only shows the middle. It doesn’t do that with other videos and it’s irritating because some of my clips focus on the side of the screen and I can’t upload them. Other then that, I would highly recommend this app and I hope you fix my issue!!!

For as long as I’ve used the app, it’s been pretty much my go to for watching my clips and downloading them. But lately I’ve been getting tons of error codes or the app won’t be able to get any my clips or screenshots. This isn’t just for me. I can’t view my friends clips as well without getting any error about not being able to get the clips. Everything else still works fine like it has in the past but these error codes are getting more and more common than they used to Update: there are no more errors but I can definitely say that app has a mind of its own. Some days it shows me what I want and there are no problems. Other times I gives me error codes, won’t bring up my clips but will bring up my friends clips, or won’t recognize any of my friends clips just to name a few. The app works but there will be days of frustration with this app

Really it’s a good app, simple and straightforward... when it works... Every single time I try to run the app it kicks me out before leaving even the initial loading screen. I don’t know if it’s my connection, or if it’s because some clips are uploading at the time I’m running the app, or whatever, but it’s getting stressful having to reset the app and try over and over for 10 minutes until it decides to work with me for a moment. Even then, however, often gives me error messages when downloading a clip, and even slightly leaving the app if ever for a moment will cancel your download and screw up the whole app so you’ll have to reset. I don’t know if I’m the only one experiencing it. This is for sure the best app for what it’s meant to do, but it’s too inconsistent and buggy :’( PLS FIX

So there has been a glitch since around December 20-30 of last year, and that’s that all the screenshots are not visible, and I must resort to taking clips and screenshoting the video I downloaded. Another that’s most likely been here since the start is if you upload a clip or screenshot to Xbox live then it won’t appear for some reason.

If you’re a gamer with a gaming blog/page on social media, this app is perfect for you. The clips/screenshots sometimes take a while to sync from XBL to the app, but once they’re there, it’s literally one button away from downloading it to your gallery. I have a gamer clan page on Instagram (@clan_htn) and we use this app all the time. It allows you to trim your videos, and save screen shots. You can even access content from multiple accounts (if this applies to you). Very simple app, highly recommended.

This is the best app to save your games clips. I don’t thing we new a sign in option since this is not a social media, and what would I want to edit someone else’s clips. Thanks guys for such a nice work. This app does everything I was looking for. A way to save my clips to my photo to be able to edit them on final cut and LumaFusion. Once again thanks. Hope you guys keep supporting the app. Please don’t let it die. U guys deserve more than 5 stars but I cannot give u more.

I love this app so much. Saving my game clips and making cool videos out of them is so much fun and it makes it much more convenient to show my friends cool clips. But I started to get this message when I load the app that reads “The data couldn’t be read because it isn’t in the correct format”?? I have no idea what this means but I can’t access my clips on the app now and it really is a bummer because I love this app

I originally screen recorded my clips from the xbox app and then had to crop them myself, but ever since the screen now goes black when I record I’ve been unable to do so. This app not only solves that problem but I can crop them from within the app and have the clip saved in HD WITHOUT the audio lag that came with the xbox app, all in a matter of seconds. This app is incredible. 5 stars

I like this app because of how convenient it is, however, I won’t be using it because I get an error when I try to share clips through discord. The error message says I have a network error or discord isn’t launched even though I have discord open, I’m logged into discord, I have four bars, and I’m connected to my home WiFi. I believe it’s an error with the app and not an error on my end.

This app is honestly really good, only problem is that when you try to view a video in full screen it won’t let you exit out, so you have to close the app and then it will let you look at the videos again.

I have used this app for for almost 2 years and i love it, but there is a problem. When i clip game moments from my xbox, the audio from my voice doesn’t show up, but my friends voices are clear as day. I don’t know how to fix it. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this app :)

Until the past two weeks or so, the app has worked as it should 95% of the time. The other 5%, clips and screenshots would upload a few hours late, which I’m fine with. Recently though, none of my screenshots that are clearly on Xbox Live, and appear on my console are on the app. I’ve been removing clips from my account to try to make space, but most of them still appear on the app for some unknown reason.

I absolutely LOVE this app. Downloads are quick, and the clips are usually pretty HQ. but for some reason, there are certain games that won’t show up? I play Minecraft pretty frequently on one of my Xbox accounts and it’s never been on the app. So I have to download another app solely for MC clips lol. Other than that it’s a full 10/10

Xbox live app no longer lets you screen record game clips but this is an even better alternative. I can easily browse through my Xbox live clips, trim them, speed them up, slow them down, and save them to my camera roll. This is a staple item for me as a gamer who posts clips on Instagram. So glad I found this app!

This app is duper handy for sharing clips. Since Xbox won’t let you screen record in the app I ended up finding this and it works great. The only issue I have is sometimes when I download the video it gets stuck with a spinning wheel but when I go to my camera roll it shows that it’s been downloaded

The app had worked for me for about, 2 months. But now I cannot log into my account or my brother’s account. And both of the account privacy settings are set for everyone to view captures. I deleted the app and reinstalled it, but nothing is working. This has been going on for 2 weeks now. I hope you find a way to fix this pretty big issue, it would help out many of the people who use the app.

Very clean and easy to use app! Wish there was more functionality, such as the option to filter videos in the clip feed by game instead of only by most recently made. Otherwise, great app for saving and uploading clips to places like Instagram.

No ads before, now there are ads. Please add an in-app purchase option to remove ads. Uninstalled until then. Edit: Good response from developer addressing both my ignorance and concerns. I still won’t be re-installing until the Pro option is added to the app, but rating has been updated in the meantime.

So, this app has worked wonderfully for around a year and now it some reason doesnt upload my screenshots from my xbox the last one it uploaded was from a month ago, i need this fixed cuz i need my photos

Just got the app. I’m sure it works perfectly fine, but I was disappointed to find out that Xbox Live is needed in order to access recorded clips and captured screenshots. This is not a problem with the app in any way, but rather a problem with the system it’s forced to work with. I guess I’ll have to fork out a few bucks to share them across other platforms. Oh well.

Usually the sharing feature works with Facebook where you can switch the group that you want to share your clip. But this is now the 2nd time this function has disappeared and I am no longer able to choose the group I post in. Now I have to save my video then post in the desired group. This is the only reason for the 3 star review.

I’ve only used this app for a short amount of time but I’m already in love with the app. It allows me to view my own clips and ss AND any of my friends with just the click of a button. There a couple things I would recommend and that is 1) When you click on a clip it automatically full screens it 2) When viewing your friends clips you have to press 2 things to go back to your clips. Although I can overlook this having a 1 click arrow or something would be great! Besides that this app is perfect for my personal use. Thanks guys!!!

Bummer. I liked this app. It organized your content nicely and made sharing/editing easy and, most importantly, FAST. So what…Microsoft got somewhat decent with sharing/editing captures and that was enough to call it quits?? Lame. Anyways, don’t bother downloading or using. The devs haven’t shown this app any love since 2020 so, as you can imagine, it’s either not working well or not working at all.

As someone who likes to edit montages of gameplay this is a dream come true. I play with my wife and we both record clips that we like. I can now save these easily and throw them into iMovie and edit them. Thank you so much for this fantastic tool! 10/5 stars

I’m having a issue when ever I search up a gamertag and put it in exactly the way it’s spelled out it says,”no gamer found with that gamertag” and I deleted and reinstalled it a bunch of times and still goes on by saying that. Please investigate. Thank you

Just updated to the new version and at first the videos and screen shots were not loading. Rebooted my phone and that seemed to help. My friends still do not load. All I get is “The data couldn’t be read because it’s isn't in the correct format”. Which is the error I was getting at first in the video and screen shots.

I just started this app and I absolutely LOVE IT. The sound won’t work with mine, even though my sound works on other apps, the sound only seems to work with my headphones. I don’t know if this is just a bug or what. Other than that it’s amazing! Good job guys!

For some reason my clips don’t pop up when I go to save them. I’d take the clips hours ago and let them upload, and when I went to save them they weren’t there. Anyone know how to fix

The clip that I want I cannot get only because it’s not there. It has the clips before and after, but not the one I need. It’s a Minecraft Clio, but I don’t know if that had anything to do with it. If you could respond to this with a possible solution that would be great.

The application needs to be updated to allow more than 2 saves, I save 2 videos then it takes 10+ minutes, I make compilations for instagram and I cannot get my clips in a timely manner because of the delay and bug. Great app other than that.

There is a bug or something but nothing will work when I put in the gamer tag. It keeps saying that the gamertag is incorrect or I need to put in the full thing, but my gt is only 5 letters so I know it’s right and I tried putting in my other gt and it’s doing the same thing. Even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application.

When I start playing my clips the sound works normal but the video freezes. I can’t even watch my clips which is the main purpose of the entire app. This is extremely frustrating and has been going on for a long time and haven’t been fixed.

This app is awesome works Very well. It isn’t slow, you can share threw practically every social media platform. My problem is the new Call of Duty- MW videos I record aren’t showing up on the app yet they are on my Xbox. I would appreciate some help/feed-back, thank you.

After many struggles of finding a useful and efficient app to share my gaming clips to social media, I have finally found one. It is easily accessible and very quick! 10/10

This app does everything you want it to. Also does it very quick and easy. Only issue is since the IOS 12 there’s a few little wonky things. I’m assuming they will be fixed though!

I love this app as it doesn’t take any details away when you download a capture, but for some reason my new uploads won’t show in the app, it’s all my old pictures I’ve already deleted from my system. So not sure if it’s a system issue or app. I’ve deleted and re downloaded the app but same result

My only problem is that when I try to get clips from some people with there gamer tags have numbers after them it just refuses to accept that is there gamer tag, for example (xxxxxxxx#7645)

Hey so I’ve been using this app for over a year and had no problems with it, but I was going to look at my Call Of Duty Modern Wafare clips but none of them appear🙁 And when I go to select a game, Modern Warfare isn’t even there. Can you plzz help!?

The app is awesome and perfect but the last update had some bugs i wish you fix it like the screen stops working while the video is playing.

App worked brilliantly at first and now it just states that “saving failed” every single time I go to download to save or edit and save including when I select the share button. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. This app seemed like a great thing to have at first but now it’s pretty pointless to use since it doesn’t work. Hopefully it’s back up and running sooner rather than later.

Probs to the developer here. This app is seamlessly easy to sync up and download with one click of a button right to your photo gallery. The dev did a great job with a sleek design and foolproof method of making the app work. Fantastic job!

When you download an app because it’s free and you figure “what do I have to lose?” - And it’s so perfect that you feel guilty that you didn’t pay money for it. This is AMAZING. To the point. Clean. Easy.

The app has been a life saver and I’m very great full for this app. But recently it’s been acting up. The app hasn’t been uploading my latest clips in like weeks. I’ve purged many clips from my Xbox memory thinking that’ll help. But it hasn’t.

This is a great app and can easily install clips to the camera. But for some reason it won’t show my Minecraft clips. Just my other games like brawl halls and pvz garden warfare 2

This really is a great app but I recently changed my gamer tag to Nytro, but the thing is that if you have the same name tag as someone else you get a hashtag and 4 random numbers at the end. And so every time I try to find my gamer tag it won’t work

It was great all the way up until recently. No matter what I do it says “unable to fetch game clips please try again” . Probably Xbox changed some coding on their side with an update so now this app is completely broken until they update it as well. Shame.
