Easy Learning
I’ve really enjoyed the app for several months now, just trying to learn at the age of 51 and this app keeps me inspired, interested and challenged. There is a ton of information and tabs to follow. I imagine even a skilled, well seasoned guitar player would enjoy and appreciate what the app has to offer. Multiple, well known players provide valuable insights through the videos and step by step instructions, and suggestions. Easy to read and play to tabs make it simple to follow and play. For decades I’ve tried to commit myself to learning on my own and always walked away frustrated with how overwhelming it was to take on all the tabs, notes, chords, techniques and everything to do with learning and playing. This app really helped ease me into learning without overwhelming information pilled on. With very little effort and time I’ve continued improving and learning all of everything there is to know and understand. In essence, this app is as simple as it gets to truly learning how to play guitar. Great job to the team who is producing it.

Some holes in what is being taught
App looks very hip. I am enjoying exploring around. I’m a professional musician but I don’t play guitar, so it’s at once new to me and nothing I’m not familiar with. But I notice no real jazz and no roots stuff, like rockabilly, jump blues, country swing, dixie... Obviously, for some of that stuff guitar wasn’t really the feature of that genre, but there are decent examples in each style where it very much is integral. Rockabilly is what made everyone want to play guitar. There’s some fun finger picking stuff I see in the lessons, but all relatively modern and missing a whole stylistic phase of guitar music that’s surprisingly absent. If you’re looking for specific hit songs guitarists would be attracted to, there’s no shortage of music students could learn from by artists like Brian Setzer, Johnny Burnette, Rosetta Tharpe, and Carl Perkins; or for jazz looking at everyone from Joe Pass, John McLaughlin, Pat Metheny to Frank Gambale. I’d love to see stylistic diversity way outside the states too, maybe incorporating Latin music, African, etc. Even without any of that, I think there’s some key elements that would be awfully hip to include for guitarists looking to know how we got to today, or expand their harmonic and and melodic understand of music.

Awesome learning experience, but seemingly limited
First, I absolutely love the app. It’s a great immersive learning experience. I really love the way the app integrates my playing with backdrop music, as it reduces the impact of my less than enjoyable output, while giving good feedback on my performance. That said, I think the value could be better. That’s why I only gave it 3 stars. Unless I’m missing something, there is only a basic course for acoustic and electric (I’m only interested in acoustic). It’s been years since I’ve played guitar, and the basic course was highly beneficial to me. However, I’m past that now, and I’m ready to move on to intermediate level training. Unless I’m missing something, there is none. I went through the whole app trying to find the next level course (intermediate), and couldn’t find anything. Am I missing something? I hope so. The song library is fun, but not necessarily helpful from a skill learning perspective. For example, I loved the Tears for Heaven, Eric Clapton, song, but the level of fingerpicking involved was not covered in any of the skills training and took a long time to get down. It would be great if there were more courses on fingerpicking and other intermediate/advanced skills.

The way you teach the G-Chord needs to change.
Why the H-E-Double hockey sticks do you teach the player to use their pinky on the G-chord? Do you know how near impossible that is to do without muting some strings? Why are you teaching such a hard way to play the G-chord when there is an easier way that doesn’t require the pinky finger? I was really enjoying the app(better than the competition in some aspects) until I ran across this lesson...I got so frustrated trying to learn the way the app wanted me to, that I went back to Yousician to learn the G-chord there instead, only to find that there is an easier version of the G-chord that Amped does not teach you... After trying that version I went back into amped to complete the lesson but it was very confusing to be told to use my pinky...I really wish Amped would change this, and because there is no way to contact the developer on their website I decided to use this form instead. I highly recommend this app to those of you that are not the developers reading this, and just because I think their way of teaching the G-chord is frustrating and dumb doesn’t mean I don’t recommend this app still, I really enjoy it, for the most part.

Why this app is not famous?
First, some ”psychological factors”: first, I was skeptical about this because the app has a lot less reviews compared with other apps. For that reason my mind automatically thought that it would not be worth it to download it. Second, I downloaded anyway because I liked the rock and row vibe of the app. Other guitar learning apps have these childlike interface, which turns me off. Besides the psychological factors, I think it is the best guitar learning experience someone can get in an app. It is intuitive, immersive, they don't take your intelligence for granted making ridiculous basic lesson. I don't understand why it's not more popular, but I am happy that I found this. I am just not sure how much silence on the background I need to practice, or if the problem is my headphones (the wired one that cokes with the Iphone 8), but I am able to get good feedback only if I am in a completely silent place. Summarizing, thank you for this app and for bringing the experience of playing real things from lesson one.

Absolutely the Best....but my Progress :(
Let me start by saying that out of every guitar teaching app I have tried, This one is the only one that I DONT get frustrated with. Even when it’s trying to teach me to use my fingers in a way that I’m not used to, I usually end up realizing later in the learning path that it really makes changing chords a much smoother experience than whatever “easy” way I was trying to force through. The whole experience is of a quality that just isn’t matched by anyone else. They lead you through quick, achievable lessons that build skills, raise confidence and keep you motivated! Before you know it, you’ve completed 2 of the learning paths, and you’re feeling like learning the guitar is no longer this overwhelming, foreign, and out-of-reach longing in your soul. And then I lost my progress.

Great app…when it works
FIX YOUR SERVERS!!! Another update: Unable to open the app at all. Reinstalling and trying to login results in a JSON error. Frankly, this is a great app broken by poor backend performance. Losing a star for wasting my time tonight. Will practice using Fender Play or Songsterr because they work. Update: Latest update broke the app. After reinstalling, everything works again. Third time in my first month of using this app and I’m unable to practice due to continued server errors and software glitches. This time it’s “error loading game data”. This app can be great, but let’s face it…if you hired the best guitar instructor in the world and they didn’t show up for your lesson three times you’d find someone else. Server issues aside, I’ve had some of the most informative and productive guitar lessons in decades using this app. I’ve learned two basic skills that no other app, not even an actual guitar instructor (actually, he didn’t show up much either), has shown me. I feel like I’ve taken a huge step forward.

Watch your wrist/hand position!
I deleted this app after a week. My daughter and I both developed wrist pain and we feel it is due to using this app. At first it seemed helpful, but as the lessons wore on the video game aspect of it compelled us to stress out and try to get the note right at whatever cost to our technique. Three nights ago I thought I was having a good session but all of the sudden I had shooting pain in my fretting hand. I looked down and my wrist was in a terrible position that no instructor could endorse. Now I’m taking at least a week off to let it heal before I try to play again, very frustrating. Maybe some people don’t have this problem, especially those whose technique is already locked in and healthy. But from where I’m sitting I would recommend Fender Play or Guitar Tricks. This way you can go at a more controlled pace and not get sucked into “leveling up” in a video game when you should be keeping your hands in the correct positions. I expected more from Gibson. Maybe this is more cost effective for them than building out an entire curriculum with human instructors.

Game-changing presentation with room for improvement
I’ve been playing guitar for 14 years and hold two degrees in music, so I know my way around the guitar. I’ve also spent a few years teaching on and off. —— My daughter is 7 and started playing a few months back. She loves the guitar but easily gets discouraged when she runs into things that she can’t do right away. It’s difficult to get her to stay motivated though those moments especially when you’re lucky enough to have a Nintendo Switch readily available. Amped makes it fun for all of us. She’s only been using it for a few days, but she seems to enjoy it much more than the leading competitor app. I believe this is directly related to the pace at which the information is delivered. The lessons increase very gradually and even overlap each other, which is great for learning. Of all of the educational programs using the Guitar Hero model, Amped has the best presentation. While you could definitely learn guitar from Amped alone, I think it would be best used in parallel to a guitar teacher or related online sources. I’ve peeped ahead to check out some of the future lessons. So far, my only notes are on the technical side. -The tracking, especially when playing chords, needs some improvement. -It’d be very cool if Amped supported all usb class-compliant audio interfaces and not just the iRig. I know at least one of the competitors supports this. Overall, excellent app. We love it.

Couple Problems
The app is fun and works great but could you add a couple of stuff? It will really be a dig improvement if you add these two things… - Please provide a little warm up for when you get into the app? I am really busy and sometimes don’t have enough time to play my guitar and jumping straight into what I was learning can be challenging and frankly extremely upsetting. - Can you also make levels that know your skill level specifically and will help you to open new areas with confidence. When I follow the main course, it just assumes my skill level and puts me on the course everybody takes. Adding these would definitely enhance your app and make the fee that we all pay worth it! Oh also I forgot, will you PLEASE add a feature that teaches you how to read sheet music notes so if we want to go professional, we can? One more thing, you should add a feature where you can create your own music and play it so if you ever forget it, you can come straight back to it.

Best app to learn guitar!
As a middle-aged person learning guitar for the first time, this app intimidated me for too long. I finally decided to give it a sincere effort and am so glad I did. This is the best app I have used (and I have tried many different apps.) The lessons are well done and the quality of instruction is excellent. I really enjoy connecting my guitar and amp to the app, playing along with songs and lessons, and getting immediate and accurate feedback about my performance. My only negative is that I wish there was the option to view more than a bar or two of a song at one time. It would be great to be able to view a full riff, verse section, or solo on the screen at one time to practice without having to scroll back-and-forth across the screen.

Still trying it
The app is immersive. The lessons are easy to follow. I try to perfect each lesson and nail it with three stars before moving on. I’ve been at it for a week or so and I’m trying to decide if headphone augmented reality is how I want to learn guitar. What comes through the headphones is not what is actually being played on the guitar. I get that it’s working finger dexterity on the fretboard but it makes me feel like the app is attempting to trick me into thinking I’m doing something that I’m not. I realized yesterday I haven’t plugged my guitar into my amp for several days. Do I want to play an app or guitar? I know my basic open chords and the chord section throws me off because I want to go straight to the shape I know but the app builds it up slowly finger by finger. The app requires rigidly following this pattern which makes me overthink what’s going on. All that said, I’m going to stick with it to see how it goes.

Learn to play guitar!
I am only beginning this app but already I highly impressed with the quality and scope of this presentation. It includes even such basics as : how to hold a pick and how to change strings and how to tune your instrument. Customer support is excellent. They quickly answer questions and problem areas. The instructions begin by plucking one string with the index finger in time with Witt’s novice version of “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” by Bob Dylan. The app grades your performance and as you practice the song your improvement is apparent. You can progress at your own pace with nobody pressing you to improve beyond your comfort level. It is truly exciting to hear an old favorite come to life. Highly recommended app-5 stars!

Great App - Needs More Original Versions of Songs
I came into this app cynical, but have been converted to the “karaoke” approach of learning songs. Worth the money just for that alone. However, the song library is too heavy on the beginner/intermediate versions of songs without an option to learn the original. It’s kind of frustrating to see an iconic song pop up only to realize it’s been scaled back to the point that it only sounds good with the app. I get the need to provide engaging content for beginners (side note that the “intermediate” arrangements are beginner level from my perspective as an intermediate player) and to slowly dribble out content from a marketing perspective. But I would stick with this app longer if more songs were available without being dialed back, as I’m already running out of songs to play.

No Search option for songs
This is a great app for learning to play guitar as well as some other features. I particularly love that it listens to you while you play and gives you feedback, even though it only works if you use headphones. However, the only issue I have with the app is that there is no search function in the songs tab. So if you want to look for a tutorial on how to play a specific song, there’s no way to find it other than just scrolling through random list of songs and hoping you locate the one you want. If they add in a search function for songs/artists, the app would be five stars for sure. It would also be really nice if they gave you a 10% discount on guitar and accessory purchases like the Fender play subscription does, but I guess beggars can’t be choosers.

Your chord and string bend recognition needs more work
I been using your app for awhile, at first I used the chord recognition issues as an opportunity to refine my finger placement to get all strings to ring out perfect. I’m beating my head against the wall as it can’t be done...acoustic or electric thru a clean amp makes zero difference, I tune using the built in tuner...it’s frustrating at the very least. So, cut my losses on your open chord progression process and started the lead guitarist1 and soloing, you have no direction on what to bend string to...semitone or whole? Tried various bends to try and dial in the correct bend, no luck, either says “bend not heard” or something like that or wrong note. I don’t know where your issues lie, at least Yousician has a way to try and calibrate the microphone. I won’t be renewing my subscription if it doesn’t improve, for the beginning student, the frustration is high enough without these glitches already

Stop changing the skill levels!
Been a big fan of the app since I got my guitar from Santa a year ago. I recently completed the basic skills course and felt so accomplished. Now after an update, there’s apparently a new basic skills course that I’m somehow not finished, my stars count is different and the interface is completely different. It’s already hard enough to learn guitar if you’re a complete beginner but it’s even harder if the app keeps changing on you. It’s completely discouraging to think you’ve completed a level only to have that effort erased. Plus, as a very visual person, it’s so jarring to have everything in completely different place on your screen. I really want to keep going with this app but I’m constantly frustrated with the glitches and app updates. Every time I find time to play, most of it is sucked up by having to update the app, restart my iPad, etc. I may have to find something more stable and consistent.

Excellent!!!
I started playing a a little over a year ago with videos and other apps but progress was slow and haphazard. Then I tried this app and WOW…what a difference. I started with the solo track for the first few months and really started to get the feel for my guitar. It was not a race to finish for me so I did not move onto the next lesson until I was comfortable with the previous lesson. I then started the rhythm track and do a little of both each day. I am approaching 1m xp and can feel my abilities improving at a faster and faster pace. The new updates are fun but I do miss the video record option. Keep up the good work!

Need to try more songs but so far it’s a mixed bag
The app is pretty and has a nice interface. I have played Rocksmith since 2014 and have been begging for a iPad app that could compete. Yousician didn’t, fender play didn’t, and from what I can tell Gibson isn’t looking so good either. The issue with not paying the license for the songs is the unlistenable covers they use for backtracks. And the bad thing here is that the app doesn’t require a chord, but does require headphones and since it doesn’t emulate your guitar you cannot hear what your playing.. the notes have a horrible tone guitar emulation playing but it’s not an emulation of your own playing, but what should be played. I tried 30 seconds to Mars and the Chorus killed me. The singer on the backtrack could not hit the notes in the chorus and I had to stop it was so distracting.

False Promotions and a Glitchy App
I would like to start off my saying that there’s absolutely no way this app is truly and honestly rated as a 5 Star app. This is definitely a rating that Gibson has paid for and thoroughly fights to maintain. Let me explain my experience with this app: I bought a new Epiphone that had a pamphlet offering 14 day free trial if you download the app. That’s not true whatsoever, it’s only a 7 day trial and only works if you sign up for the Yearly subscription, not the monthly. This is false advertising and insanely frustrating. Secondly, I wanted to explore this app before diving in and committing to a $200 purchase for a year subscription, and the app helped make my mind up. So beyond glitchy, and cannot do anything without the app crashing or freezing. I wanted to like this app, but holy cow, the first impression was atrocious. Regardless, I decided to try it out and see what this app is all about using the lied-about 7 day trial. Man oh man, this app is straight hot garbage. The timing/calibration is absolutely trash and makes the actual app itself basically useless. I’m an intermediate guitarist and have played for years, but I can’t even get through the intro lesson played on a single string because the app doesn’t want to register when I hit a note. It literally doesn’t work. This app is so, so, so bad. Peace out Gibson ✌️

Great app
I’ve taken private guitar lessons in the past but with the state of the economy, I wanted to find something more economical - that I would actually stick with. I’ve tried numerous online courses, and apps. This is the first one that has really held my interest. I love how interactive it is, and how much variety it has. I love that it “listens” to you and tells you how you’re doing. And believe it or not, I actually like that you have to do well enough on something to advance to the next section. It gives me a goal to reach for, which pushes me beyond “well it’s good enough.” I’m so happy with this app, and highly recommend it to others.

Great learning app for beginners
I’ve tried out a bunch of the different guitar apps and this one is hands down the best. I like that they don’t just throw you into using all 6 strings in the first two main courses or starting chords immediately. I think this approach actually gets you used to playing single strings quickly and pick up finger dexterity and speed that you’ll need before diving into more complex lessons. Design is great too with the ability to slow the speed and look at the whole tab before playing. I’m excited for the new music theory course too, which will help me better grasp what I’m playing.

Great application get and use it!
I am 7 weeks in and more than 350 lessons and I can feel the change. The option between classical, folk, country, rock and metal keeps it interesting. The practice features that allow you to slow down and practice a piece are excellent. I would love to be able to isolate and repeat trouble spots. While I am an accomplished musician of many years it is really good to fine a way to practice with accompaniment. If you are looking for an Application that will change you and produce results get this app, get and use it. Trust me you will not be sorry.

frustrating app
The concept of this app is really cool. I like to layout and I like what seems like a competition with other players to play your best. What I don't like is when you're playing along with the notes on your screen I know I'm hitting them perfectly and I'm getting a low percentage result due to the fact of it not registering. Sometimes I have to hit the notes just a little bit before the screen says I'm supposed to and other times I hit them right on in their perfect and other times I have to hit them just a little after. And it's been multiple times that I havecorrectly hit the note and it tells me I hit the wrong note. So to say the least I really like this app but it's very frustrating

Buggy, poorly designed, big disappointment
I was excited when I saw that Gibson had released an app to learn guitar. I’ve always had Gibsons and was looking to pick my guitar back up again. The pictures and layout looked slick and I was intrigued by the Guitar Hero style of learning. The excitement was short lived and gave way to frustration and disappointment. The subscription is very expensive, much more than the Fender app. But I bought a month to try it out. Nearly every time I launch the Gibson app, I have to go into Settings and restore my subscription, very frustrating. The linear path seems user friendly, until you actually try using it. Very poorly executed user experience. And the learning curve is very inconsistent. Some lessons are almost too easy, while others are much more difficult and cover different techniques that weren’t previously taught. Overall, a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I’m definitely not going to continue my subscription. I’ve used the Fender app in the past and have been pleased with it. Better produced, not as buggy and friendlier user experience. Do better Gibson.

Can’t use the app
Day one of the free trial and after a few lessons I am getting a data error and cannot connect. Tried reinstalling the app and I cannot connect my account. Edit: day 2 and I was able to get into the app but now it offers me a free trial to try the lessons and when hit ok the app tells me I already have the free trial. So I am locked out of the app. Kind of annoyed. I give up. Cancelled the free trial and will delete the app. Even if the bugs get worked out there are still a couple of issues. There is no PC client. It would be nice to use a PC and take advantage of the larger screen. Even though the app is made for mobile devices, it still swaps between portrait and landscape going through the menu and lesson. I don’t want to constantly rotate my device. It’s a cool idea but needs some work.

Great idea. Lots of problems.
I like the setup of the app much better than similar game style guitar learning apps and the song selection and leveling are both great. This app is fun and I usually end up getting really pulled in once a begin a session. There are a few technical issues that make the app really frustrating though, and I don’t see myself continuing past the free trial unless they are addressed. First off, there are major issues with note detection. I’ve used several different guitars and headsets and even played pretty loudly through an amp. I’m in a quiet room and it keeps missing notes. I’ve taken my headphones off and picked through individual strings. The other major issue is lag when slowing down songs. It’s not just the first time. It happens on a redo even if I just played the song. Finally, I’d like to see a bit more fine tuning with slowing down song sections and the ability to quickly choose certain sections without having to move the slider around and guess. There is a lot of potential here and I really hope to see what future updates bring.

Very good with a few small issues.
I really enjoy this app and it makes me want to play. I have seen a pretty big improvement in my playing since I started using it. The lessons are broken down well and I like the ability to slow them down as needed. A few areas for improvement. 1. The app crashes constantly and a lot of the content has broken links. 2. Some lessons combine VERY basic skills the jump right into VERY complicated songs. This requires you to replay the very basic part over and over tho improve your score. 3. The jam section could be improved a ton. It's simply a very weak backing track with suggested notes. 4. If you have any background noise in your environment it will tell you that you played something incorrect even when you are playing it accurately 5. The song section is nowhere near as good as the lessons. Usually it's someone playing the song with tabs flashing and going away. Leave the tabs on the screen and better yet let me print them out.

Your fantastic team fixed the bend detection bugs
Great update! Compared to other apps with trivial updates this one is a big deal. You truly care about your app experience fixing complex issues like these. I actually feel like I am learning compared to Yousician’s arcade exp. PreviouslyI loved your app except for the bend and lick lessons. Now they are working. Well done. We are one in this. My minor ask now are improve seeking and looping sections. Yousician does seeking and resuming within a track more cleanly. The UX for looping a section takes a step or more than it needs to, just seems a awkward every time I do it.

Almost perfect
I really love this app, every other lesson or training app falls way WAY short of this app achieves in keeping you engaged and making learning easy. Most all of the lessons I’ve done thus far are way below my skill level but I’ve had fun 100%ing the songs and licks so far and I’m really looking forward to being challenged more. The only thing I really do not like has how the app celebrates my accomplishments by promptly crashing at the end of each session. Other than that, this is well worth the annual subscription!

Great app to learn guitar
I have been playing and studying guitar for many years and have tried every app and membership out there. The Gibson app is one I am going to keep. The augmented reality is great . It keeps you in time and trains your ear to hear what the tone of the guitar should sound like. So when you plug into your amp you can dial in that tone. The app keeps you motivated to practice. They update the app often and add new material. I had a minor issue and support was awesome and handled the issue quickly. Keep the the good work guys!

Good but kinda hard for fresh beginners
I like this app, it doesn’t use 15 minutes of talking and shows examples but my only problem is when playing after learning notes and how to use multiple fingers its kind of hard because of how fast the songs go. Day 2 and we already use 3 fingers and are expected to switch strings fast.. And I have the free trial but I feel like daily sessions shouldnt be stopped because you have to pay/sign up for a trial first. wish we got the limited time notification after our day session was over.

So much fun!
I’ve learned so much from this app. Didn’t realize I was learning, was just having fun going through the lessons and learning songs, but my skills have greatly improved. I use the iRig HD X interface on an iPad while I Bluetooth the audio to a Spark 40 amp. Very rarely do I have any issues. If it ever does lag, a quick reboot of the app usually fixes it. I have so much fun on this app, can’t recommend it enough. It’s pricey, but you get a lot for your money, as long as you use it.

I 💜 Gibson Guitar Lesson App
Play it everyday - making rapid progress - lessons are broken into really good sizes and levels - has tons of guides for learning to improvise solos and jam to backing tracks - which I could not figure out with other apps - has amazing sound in app - especially good sound for beginners - I’m at intermediate level now - getting a lot of good practice with string bends - riffs - solos - scales - it’s like this app was designed for me. Thanks so much for all the work done with the app.

Great needs more though
Love this app and it has helped me alot progress in my learning. Couple requests/issues Would love for yall to add more songs into the “combining techniques” section of essential techniques as those have been my favorite to play and have taught me the most on combining everything, like maybe some of the blues songs that have been in past lessons like the riffs and licks like “time to go” and others. Issues; i have noticed some of the power chords are not picking up and it reads as “wrong chord” in some lessons which can be frustrating when trying to attain a perfect score or get 3 stars. Also it would be nice to have your account carry over from iphone to ipad. I find that when i switch between the two that stuff is “locked” that i have already passed through when i switch back and forth even though all my stars are still there..

A great app!
Tried a few apps but this app is the best I’ve found. I’m a 4-chord plunker who wanted to get better and learn more. Their step-by-step makes it easy to get started. You have to practice as you should expect but it’s worth every second! The progression of songs starting out with newcomers progressing through advance categories keeps you interested and encouraged. New songs are constantly added. Hope this helps

Pretty significant technical problems
I really like your song selection and the interface is simple but elegant! That said, there’s pretty terrible lag whenever I slow down a song. Practicing even at 50% is almost impracticable. Practice at the slowest speed is basically impossible. The app also crashes not infrequently. Finally, for some reason, notes are not being picked up by my mic. I do have new headphones and they’re not terrible. I hope you address these issues soon. At the very least, I hope you make this app accessible on my Mac. If you fix these issues, you might even be a better app than Yousician. Good luck!

Amazing!!!
If you're a beginner at playing guitar, don’t hesitate to get this app! It's a game changer. I had a guitar for a long time but struggled to learn how to play. I would jump from song to song, failing due to a lack of structured practice. This app provides step by step practice sessions that make learning guitar enjoyable and effective. It's definitely worth the monthly payments and is absolutely worth downloading!

They are always there if you have a question, they answered me and were patient. The Gibson app is a amazing learning environment of any guitarist at any skill. Whatever genre of music you want to do the Gibson app can get you there! It is well worth the money I suggest this app to any guitar player and anyone who wants to learn! Great app keep up the amazing work!!!

Other reviews totally wrong?
Look, this app claims to teach you guitar. Sure, you’re going to learn the bare minimum of each topic. You’re going to learn about 5 of the 12 chords you should know in order to play basic music. They only teach you five. Every other app will teach you all of them because it is the most basic guitar skill, but not this one. Then, they’re going to throw you into more advanced topics and teach you part of that skill, just like how they only taught us part of the basic chords. Then even more advanced concepts without giving us a full grasp on any of the basic skills you need to play guitar. Extremely disappointing AND EXPENSIVE!!!

Love it!
I was stuck for 20+ years. I gave up, until one of my buddies convinced me to give this ap a try. I did and I personally couldn’t be happier! I am miles from where I was, I still have a long way to go. I’m confident I will someday reach my goal and surpass what I ever thought I could do. I have no interest in performing publicly I just play because I love the way it make me feel.

Ehhh…
It’s an ok app, great in theory. The practice system is great and if I could I would continue to use this app. Unfortunately the vast majority of lessons, songs and other features are locked behind paywalls essentially making a beginner friendly app not so beginner friendly. A free trial of the premium experience is offered but for beginners who may struggle, they might waste the premium experience and then be locked out of the things that will help them improve. If the majority of practice sessions weren’t locked behind a paywall this app would be perfect for new guitar players.

Loving it!
Love the app and the ability to challenge you. Loads of content. Still has a few (small) glitches to be worked out but all in all, 5 stars. Update - not only is the app great, so is the support. mentioned the small glitches and they promptly reached out to have them addressed. These were small glitches but the response was awesome. Highly recommend!

Great App, needs a little refinement
I love this app and its is entertaining and educational. A couple of suggestions. First, the app needs to be better explained in the beginning. What is the difference between two and three stars? I would also like to see a score on 50% speed and 75% speed. The scored wouldn’t count towards advancing but would give me a barometer if I’m ready to pay full speed at a high accuracy level

Rotation Problem
A few days ago the app started rotating. You open the app, the image rotates 180, things are upside down and unusable. Sometimes you can “force” the orientation but it will flip upside down again. It does not matter if rotation is locked or not. I have tried this on several iOS devices with the same results. This is one of my favorite guitar apps. Please fix it.

Great overall but..
I’m really enjoying watching and learning how to play but when I need to slow down a song or rewind a video more than around 45 seconds it plays half a second of the song or video I’m watching over and over again. it won’t let me move the slider to go forward or back in the video. Other than that it’s a great learning app and would recommend to any new guitar players

Great app but family sharing does not work with family subscription
I’ve contacted support and followed their instructions multiple times, but the app does not show up in family sharing, and does not give me an option to share it from manage subscriptions, although I’m on a sharing subscription plan. Aside from that the app works great. I did the family plan to share the subscription with my son, so that is a rather large issue.

Tuning Issues/Chord correction
I am extremely new to learning how to play a guitar, I have no prior experience nor knowledge. My main issue is learning how to tune my guitar. When I use the tuner assistance within the app, all of the chords are incorrectly displayed on the tuner page. When I strike e (the smallest string) the chord B shows up. I am unsure as to why this is happening, It’s not my sound quality because I’m in a relatively quiet area. (Sorry for any incorrect guitar grammar, like I said, I am very new.)

Got charged during my First day trial!
Not impressed! My bank account got charged and I just added the “Free 7 Day Trial.” Why do people have false advertising? Please refund me! Also, this so called, “trial,” does not allow you to sample the courses. It lets you into two lessons and then it blocks the rest! I was a school teacher and also taught in the business school at nights, the step-by-step teaching approach is missing. It is not interactive as it claims. Again, don’t know why I was charged in the first day of the trial period. So far this company has not responded to my email with a refund. Miriam

Not ready
seems like it could be an interesting "Guitar Hero" approach. I tried the initial lessons without a subscription. Every time you hit a streak of notes, the graphics lag (but the audio is uninterrupted) while it processes the cool image it's trying to show. Since you're relying on the steady flow of the notes to gauge the rhythm, this makes it pretty much useless (at least on my iPhone 12 Pro). Thought I might have better luck on my M1 MacBook Pro... it won't even recognize that I have headphones connected. It's a no from me.
