You cannot beat these prices. They remain consistent all year round including holidays and last minute trips. The app is very easy to use. The overall experience of the bus ride isn’t the best because of the people that book these trips however if you don’t mind dealing with it for price they will get you to your destination. I have taken this bus company for about 4 years now and have never been late to my destination or had them cancel a bus. You are guaranteed your ride and the price.
First time taking this bus. They say to arrive 20 minutes early but the bus didn’t even arrive until after the advertised departure time. Then the email says to bring a printed copy of the email as the ticket but other people had electronic tickets on their phones (like one would expect). The driver was noticeably annoyed when I showed him the printed email. He didn’t help load the bags and didn’t even close the baggage compartment door - I had to. Somewhere along the way the bus started getting colder. When I asked the driver to turn on the heat, he couldn’t reach or even see the climate controls, and his window was part way open. We froze until the next stop and discovered that the driver didn’t even know how to operate the climate controls, turning the air conditioning on (in the winter). The bathroom didn’t have any toilet paper and no one warned us to bring any. Lastly, I downloaded the app to try and get the electronic tickets and it kept giving me error messages even though I had just created my account. We’re stuck on this system until we return but will not take this bus system anymore. You get what you pay for.
The app is convenient and works fine, but that’s not why we are all here though. The China bus system is so fraudulent and troublesome. From poor communication, to overselling tickets on the bus to struggle finding a seat for someone, to people smoking on the busses, to not having enough people on the 7pm bus so they move the bus back till 9, they even upped the prices 15 dollars from 30 to 45 and there’s been no improvements or changes. I’ve been through it all except had the bus break down (which has happened plenty times to people I’ve known before). They have to do better. Even with the excessive speeding, I’ve waken up from sleep plenty of times because I thought I would die. Lol Why do I still take it you ask? It’s because it’s my only option and the fastest, but if I had an alternative I’m done. When it’s good, it’s pretty ok. But when it’s bad it’s the absolute worse. Pros are duration time and price. Cons are listed above.
I waited the bus from 20minutes before at the pick up location. I even got in the bus at on time, though the bus driver withdrew me from the bus and said that they do not have capacity for me (Gotobus over booked). I had the confirmation of my ticket in my email. The bus driver did not explain the situation and just literally left me at the pick up location. I called the all number provided in their website and email, but no one got my phone call. They made me wait over 40minutes and just hang up. That’s insane customer service. When I used the live chat service and asked for help, the operators said “please wait” and left the chats. It happened over the 6 operators. They even didn’t want to give you the refund for their mistakes. When I asked the name of the manger or supervisor of the Gotobus, they left the chats. It’s scam company. Never never used this service. I still have been waiting to get the refund.
I just downloaded the app... so convenient, didn’t even know they had one! I really like the app, only thing it’s so so hard to get rewards. I’ve booked countless trips and still haven’t been able to redeem my rewards. Other than that, it works great.
Downloaded it because it promised a discount, which it did not give me. Fine print says not valid everywhere but it should tell you whether or not it is valid. Plus it just seems poorly put together. For instance it asks if you want to receive notifications and I said no and then it says please accept notifications, same with location settings. I was nervous putting my credit card information into it because it does not seem professionally designed. I will not be using it again
I kept trying to add and pay with my credit card multiple times through the app but it would change my card number to something that wasn’t even what I entered. Then I went to the desktop version and everything was fine. I don’t know what happened with this glitch but I hope both my cards on file remain correct so I can continue to have a swift checkout process or I’m deleting the app.
A booked trip was canceled, and the email I got said to reschedule or if a refund is needed it would be given but it did not say I couldn’t reschedule and if it wasn’t a good time I could get my refund. Well it took over a week and about four or five emails later for them to contact me just to say I can not get a refund because I chose to reschedule so be careful do not reschedule until you know forsure the other trips fit your schedule now I’m stuck giving this garbage company money.
I recently bought two tickets from Orlando to New York. When I arrived in Orlando post I recognized that this company GOTOBUS does not respect customers. I had little money and I had to wait for more than 1 hour delaying. They says the bus are comfortable and has free Wi-Fi, but it’s too horrible! I tried to cancel my two tickets and they didn’t pay the refund. DON’T FALL ON THIS APP!!! I’m going to the concert to process this fake company! I’m not an idiot and I want my money back!
I travel to New York frequently for work. Each bus I’ve taken to the city was on time, except one due to heavy traffic. Comfy seats. Just make sure to arrive 30 mins-1 hour before your departure to get a good seat😊
I travel to dc from nyc a lot so this app always comes in handy for me. I love the point system too! I’ve acquired a few free bus trips just from booking through this app! Highly recommend!
Hello, Thanks for the opportunity to review GoToBus. I’ve been using it for several years, from NYC to Virginia Beach. 1. There seems to be no communication between gotobus and the actual bus stations and bus lines. The bus lines claim to not speak English and do not communicate to bus riders what is happening, when the bus is late, when it is stopping, etc. 2. There is no refund policy. The bus I rode 2 weeks ago literally broke down in the middle of the night in the middle of no where, it took 3 hours for another bus to get us, and there is no one to ask for a refund from, or report this issue. It was Lion Bus Line. 3. Conditions on the buses are often unhealthy, smelling of feces and urine. Thank you and I hope this helps, Holly
The app just stopped working on my iPhone12. It logged me out and each time I tried to log back in or change password to see if that would fix the issue, I kept getting the message “update app”, in which my app IS UPDATED. Messaged for help and no such luck. GotoBus developers need to stay on top of these issues!
This is a wonderful way to travel. The buses are always clean and quiet and the drivers are very nice. I’m very thankful that I found out this was available.
This app is easy to use! I also love how convenient and affordable it is to use the bus to go to NY from Columbus Ohio. I love and have used this service about 12 times already!!!
I accidentally booked two trips going to the same place and there is no option to cancel or refund nor is there an option to reschedule to make the trip correct. If both trips are the same price there should be an option to correct the trip.
Great prices and convenient app. GotoBus needs to improve in their customer service. My grandmother missed her bus because she had trouble finding a stop inside the MIA airport and there was no one available to help.
For the price, it’s a good way to travel. Unexpected things occur on the road🤷🏽♀️. It makes stops for you to use the restroom or get something to eat 😁😊.
On the way to Maryland Friday night the bus was late . So it was inconvenient. Although the driver was nice and still made it there in a timely fashion .
Very Disrespectful Drivers they curse at the customers for reason. Bus broke down right outside the Lincoln Tunnel (I have photos) on July 9th around 8pm coming from Dover to Midtown. The same rude driver refuse to communicate the issues to the paying riders on the bus. A few of us just walked off and made our way on foot.
