Crash and repaired.

I enjoyed this app until i bought the yearly subscription and then it crashed. The app didn’t open. So I wrote a review and the app developer contacted me to explain that there was a slight bug. I reinstalled the app as instructed by the developer; and now it I seems to be functioning normally. I am a native speaker but don’t get a lot of opportunities to practice my skills. I look forward to maintaining my skills with the help of this app. Thanks!

This app is a great tool...BUT!!

I really love this app coming from a household where I wasn’t taught my home language. It is so cool to make the correlation with the conversations I’ve heard growing up, to now have an understanding of what it means. HOWEVER, there are major glitches with this app where I have to select a subscription every time I want to learn a new lesson when I’ve already paid an annual subscription for it. This is my only vice with the app. Other than that, thank you so much for saving us Haitian Americans lol!

Afew issues

I enjoy the numerous lessons that are given to you I’m starting to get the basics down pact to where I can somewhat hold a basic conversation. My biggest issue is that I’ve paid for the yearly subscription to access all lessons. But when I go to anything beyond the greetings it ask me to purchase again when I hit restore purchase it says that I haven’t but when I go to re add the yearly it says I already have it purchased.. is there something that you guys can do to fix this? I really love using this app

Ok app with a few flaws

I like the ability to hear words and phrases repeated. I like that the speed can be slowed down. The sections are long though, and at 10-15 minutes/day, I can’t finish 52 “pages” at one sitting. Other reviewers are saying they can pick up where they left off (but can’t review). I’m finding that the app goes back to the beginning of a lesson when I stop and come back to it, and I don’t see a way to fast forward to where I left off. Also, when I type word answers I have no way to add the accent marks, and the app counts it wrong.

Been busy...

I really love this app and I learn a lot when I use it! I love that it doesn’t make you start from the beginning /every/ time. But, unfortunately, I’ve been really busy and haven’t been able to do much with the app and have forgotten what I learned. It would be amazing if I could have the option to start a section over if I wanted to! Otherwise, thanks for a great app!

So cool... one small problem

This has been fun to start learning for our next trip to Haiti!! I like that I can read, hear and write what I’m learning. I also like the option to repeat what I’ve already done. Small problem... on the iPhone XR I cannot hit the X in the top left corner because it is under my clock time. This means I have to close the app and swipe it away to fully exit before I can get back to the menu. It would be cool if that could be fixed. Thanks for this great app!

Great app but there’s a problem

I have an XR and I’m not sure if it’s just my phone but when you get to the last section of every lesson where it’s asking you to “translate what you see in Creole” there’s literally nothing on my screen. It’s a completely blank white screen and i don’t even know what it is i‘m meant to translate to creole. Please fix this 😭💕. I feel like it hinders me from getting the full learning experience, thanks. Maybe even change the font color if it’s white font and it’s just not showing on a white background? I’m not sure but there’s nothing there.

SO HELPFUL!

This is by far the most helpful app for learning Haitian Creole. I didn’t give it 5 stars because it can be glitchy and definitely needs an update. If I’m paying for this I want be a bit more advanced. I want to see how far along I am in the section and be able to pick up where I left off. I have to restart every time I go to a new section. Also there’s no instructions explaining how the cards work or any customizability.

The art of language

I am an American that has a love for Haitian people! I remember being in high school and wanting to learn French to speak to my Haitian people. A young Haitian woman that I was in love with who did not speak creole introduced me to her family that speak it made me want to learn it! I have a bunch of Haitian friends! I love the people! This app is a bridge to forging relationships between African Americans and Haitian people!

So far this is working the best for me

It breaks it down just enough to help my feeble 50+ year old brain to understand more than other apps that cram too much information too fast. No, I’m not someone who wants to bring medical relief somewhere, I’m an American who noticed that a lot of my neighbors speak Creole and I want to know what they are saying.

My Updated Review

All the hiccups that I ran into before have been fixed so far. My review was originally 3 star. But now it’s 5. The app adjust to dark mode so now I can see what to type and the accents aren’t an issue. Thank so much. I kinda didn’t go on because of that, but the app has always been great.

I love this app, but it’s not working anymore!

I was using this app to better communicate with my family since I never spoke creole growing up. At first, the app worked perfectly. It never crashed and it felt like I was actually learning! But lately the app hasn’t been responding. I’d try to open it, but it immediately closes, but even showing the opening screen. Why is that?

Love it!

It has you pronounce and repeat the words/phrases as well as write out what you heard so you get a full understanding of what you’re saying! Which also helps you keep the info in your head since you have to write it

Not Pleased

I was enjoying this app so much that I did a monthly purchase that has an automatic renewal. It renewed and I went back to work on it and it was not letting me in and kept asking for my subscription. My subscription is still active but it was not allowing me to use them all. After this I decided I would cancel my subscription and not be ripped off.

This is really helping love myself even more !!! I’ve always known I was creole but never really was taught it because of the military and moving and now that I’m older I’m learning for myself but most importantly for my future family

Love it!

This app has helped me hone my Creole significantly. Although I was born of Haitian parents, my upbringing was in the states, so my Creole was elementary at best. Now, when I speak to friends and family, they are always surprised at how eloquently I’m able to communicate with them verbally and via text. Thanks, Anatec!

No sound

I’d like to subscribe to get the rest of the categories but there is no sound. I read the feedback from reviews with the same issue and none of the troubleshooting tips have worked. I tried headphones, turned up the volume on my phone and waited several seconds for the audio to play.

I love this app it taught me how to speak creole. I really recommend it. It teaches you numbers family words, greetings words, and it even teaches you emergency words if you have an emergency.

This is excellent It makes you use active recall and you can speed up or slow down the sound of pronunciation just excellent

Needs work very basic

Love the app because of what it teaches. Would love if you added a back button for when I’m in the lesson. So I could try and memorize something I didn’t get right the first time.

Very Effective

This app is user friendly and provides sound of the correct pronunciation and spelling for each word and phrase. I also love the quizzes included to test your knowledge.

It’s good

I already speak creole but I didn’t really grow up learning how to write. I also wanted to give myself a review because I low key was starting to forget how to speak. This app is really good

Great app but the formatting causes trouble

I loveee using this to learn creole, but I can’t complete the levels because the words in the english to creole writing portion is written in the same color as the background. So I can’t see which phrase they want me to write. Please fix this so the app can be completed :(

Very helpful

Really like the app, but one thing that would be extremely helpful is if there was a favorite option on each phrase that you could practice just the favorite phrases. Make it so you can add and remove phrases from the favorites list as needed. Thanks!

Faulty Yearly Subscription!

Great app for learning Kreole but I had an automatic subscription renewal but it won’t let me get past lesson 3 even though I already paid for it. Don’t waste your money by doing the renewal only to find out after the fact that the app won’t recognize it.

Easy to learn

This app has helped me to learn the basics of Haitian Creole so I can communicate with the people who this is a first language to. I am learning to understand this language in fluency.

Great app, some bugs

Started off with my first lesson, but I was left with a blank red screen and they were still asking me questions. I want to continue but the app doesn’t work!

Vocab Review Box Suggestion

I love the lessons, but I think creating a vocabulary box so that users can go back and review specific words/phrases they choose after completing a lesson would be helpful! Thank you.

My only gripe or complaint is that there isn’t a way to see if you’re pronouncing the words or phrases correctly.

Best app to relearn or freshen up on Creole!

II love the audio and writing option. the phrases are super useful to practice. I like that the app makes you review what you didn’t do well on. The writing is my favorite challenge of the app

Right now I can only use the first 2 lessons still this is by far the best app to learn Haitian creole . I may in the future move to Les Cayes.

Great app but only showing me French to creol

This app would be one of the best out there but when i go in the settings it gives me options to do English to Creole or Creole to English, but instead it just keeps giving me French to Creole. Would love some help if anyone knows why this is happening.

Best free H.C app

Honesty Better an app I pay 20 a month for. This one has better flow and I feel like I can actually talk to native hatian speakers and not sound … yk ..

Broken

Illegible

Great app! But I can’t practice reading or writing because the typed text and the background are the same color. So I can’t see what I’ve written.
