Wine Tails-A Magical Place!
After an RV trip to Yosemite in May, we planned a stop for one night at Wine Tails. It was truly a magical place! The gracious hosts, Colette & Grady, went out of their way in hospitality. As we sipped on eclectic wines and conversed with them & fellow customers we found ourselves having a lovely experience. Colette & Grady have a gift of making everyone feel comfortable as if you’re hanging out with family or friends in their living room. This place is a real gem! From the moment you walk into Wine Tails (love their logo!), you get the feeling you are snug inside a wine barrel! Don’t miss seeing the attention to design detail in the beautiful woodwork throughout the venue. We had so much fun! The hosts even picked up pizza for us. Seriously, the wines we sampled were fabulous (and we’ve tasted wines all over the world). At night’s end, we bought several bottles of wine. We also bought some fresh, organic eggs that look like Easter eggs of many colors. Colette even educated us about her chickens and the proper handling of fresh eggs. We will definitely come back for a visit here and stay in the nice RV space behind their store. Be sure to plan ahead & check their hours of operation as they are currently open Friday-Sunday. When you arrive, you need to check in first before parking. Highly recommended & dog friendly! Hopefully, you will get to meet “Jacks”, their sweet rescue dog.

I am new to Harvest Hosts. A friend told me about it. My wife and I were already planning a large driving trip using our cabover camper to visit family. We made a similar trip in 2017 and stayed at rest areas, Walmart parking lots, etc. The 2017 trip was OK because we were really just seeing people and not trying to see the sites. That trip had many 12 to 14 hour days of driving. I wanted this trip to be more relaxing and only drive an average of eight hours a day. I just completed planning the trip. I wanted this trip to be more relaxing and only drive an average of eight hours a day. I just completed planning the trip. Thanks to Harvest Hosts member facilities we will be staying at 10 vineyards, Bristol Caverns, and Windrush Alpacas. All the people that I spoke with were friendly and enthusiastic! On the downside, there are no Hosts in Nevada. Big Sky Brewing in Missoula MT never answered their phone (5 calls in 8 days and didn’t answer my Facebook Messenger message). These two minor inconveniences are Nevada and Big Sky Brewing’s loss since we typically spend $100 when we stop at a vineyard or brewery.

Must book in advance
Harvest Host was advertised as a way to stay at unique and safe locations while maintaining a style of roaming freedom that is part of the appeal of RV Camping. However, it seems due to its growing popularity, it’s pretty much impossible to book same-day stays through Harvest Host anymore. Most sites were booked out for a month at least! We paid the annual subscription and attempted to use the app along a drive, but after calling every host within a specific radius in California, no one has availability. Some hosts seemed apologetic about it while others seemed exasperated at the stress load of managing RV hosting. We ended up finding 1 host about 1 1/2 hrs out of the way, so we were able to experience at least 1 host site but for the price and promise, we were expecting a different travel experience buying into the Harvest Host subscription. I’d like to think this is just growing pains for Harvest Host and that eventually we can go back to easily booking same night stays. But most likely, given the way campsites book out months in advance in California, Harvest Host will likely end up going the same route and be an exclusive book-in-advance-only system. Wish I could take back my annual subscription purchase. Not sure we’ll ever be able to use this again.

What a beautiful place!
Candy greeted us as we stopped under a big shade tree along the drive going back to the barns. It felt like immediate friendship. She is so warm and friendly. Silver Acres is a beautiful place to kick back and relax for the night. We ate dinner looking out over the pasture with the horses. We chose to ask for the electric service they offer for $10. Although I grew up in Ohio, we’ve spent the last 10 years in Tucson, AZ and have not adjusted to humidity yet so we wanted our air conditioning. They have beautiful lodging for horses as well as people. The little bed and breakfast suite upstairs in the horse barn looks like it came out of a movie set. The bathroom even has a washer/dryer as well as what you would regularly expect in a bathroom. You can see the love they have for this place. We have already made reservations here for when we head back home in the Fall.

Great concept but poor execution in the age of COVID
We love this concept and when we paid for the membership last summer, we were ecstatic to try it out. Sadly, we have never been able to. We have tried nearly a dozen times (each time a different host) to reserve a night stay, and each time we have been unsuccessful. A couple of hosts said they had no availability for the foreseeable future, and the other host we contacted simply did not return our calls or respond at all. I understand, COVID made things more difficult for awhile, but then why charge people for a membership that they cannot use? I had a membership with a gym when the pandemic started and they put it on hold, I had a membership with a coffee roaster and when their factory had to shut down during COVID they put my membership on hold... but not Harvest Hosts. When I contacted their customer support they did not offer anything. They didn’t acknowledge any of our experiences or even mention them in their response. They only said they had taken us off of automatic renewal and would not be billed again. Disappointing is an understatement. But I am giving 2 stars because the creative concept is a great idea, if it actually worked.

$$$$ not for me
I fell for it. First I paid the base amount, then before even using the app I paid the extra for the premium service. Once I had my login I plotted a decent route through two states and looked at the options for camping along the way. They were all one evening only and for places I have no interest in visiting. This isn’t at all what I was expecting. They ask you to spend money at the places you visit. There are plenty of rules, most seem reasonable, but the one night limit takes the enjoyment out of camping for me. I guess as a stop along the way perhaps it’s ok. Then I read the recent reviews where many wrote they were unable to find any specs to camp on short notice, and places they were interested in staying are booked for a month out or more, there were even reviews stating they tried many times without success to use this app to find a place to camp for the evening. I knew that this would just be another subscription that was never used. I’m much happier paying to stay at a state or national park. One star for the way to my sucker you into paying nearly $200. I did get a quick refund so that’s good.

Making Your Adventures Personal
Get to know the backbone of America and visit these hosts. This program is easily one of my favorites when traveling around the country in our RV. Use them primarily as one night stopovers, the key is to make sure you arrive early enough to take in what the host has to offer. We travel in a 40’ Class A with Tow vehicle and are self contained. We don’t necessarily look at Harvest Host as a “cheap” alternative to RV parks as I am retired military and have access to multiple options to maximize discounts. Rather we partake as an opportunity to support and visit with some of the most amazing people and places in the country. If that’s your goal - sign up. If you are counting pennies, just understand sometimes you may spend as much or more than a typical park. And then again - sometimes you won’t ;)

Easy booking experience - app route planning great
I recently tried HH with a last minute trip (meaning a few days prior) in early August peak season in our home state of Oregon. I noticed some places don’t allow same day booking, which is super reasonable. However, you can filter for that - and filter for dogs! We planned our route - and found lots of stops along the way (very few along coast). We stayed at two vineyards, a golf course, and a blueberry farm. All were great experiences. What I additionally like about the app is the ability to add the dump station layer and see recent experiences (would be nice to add review or update data vs thumbs up/down as some info was inaccurate). Messaging through the app is easy, viewing calendars easy, reading reviews easy. Buy your UX team a beer!

App lags behind
I want to start off by saying this is a rating of the App, not the membership. I love Harvest Hosts, I love Boondockers Welcome. I was not a fan when they joined, but can live with it. I would still highly recommend memberships to both. As for apps, Boondockers Welcome had a great app. Harvest Host’s app was never as good. Combining meant we lost the good one. Harvest Hosts has had over a year to make their app better and they still haven’t done it. I am so tired of putting in my rig length and type over and over. Please fix this. Also, more detail about electric. We mostly use Boondockers Welcome because we prefer a 30 amp hookup (and are happy to donate whatever is asked for it). We end up having to read though every detail of listing searching because even an available 110 outlet can be listed under electric available. Also some Harvest Hosts are starting to have have some electric available, but that is not searchable at all.

A must stay!
The Farm @ Old World Garden is a must stay when traveling through Ohio. This is a beautiful respite and just minutes off Rte. 70. Easy access on and off the Interstate. Make sure to follow the host’s directions; they are very clear and concise. The property offers many oooh ahh moments the minute you arrive. The hosts met us upon arrival and gave us a brief introduction to the farm, the harvest hosts parking site and the available amenities. Electric is available for a very nominal fee which is nice. The parking pad is graveled and level and offers beautiful views out the side windows. We walked the grounds and trails and saw a lot of deer and many species of birds. We enjoyed a nice fire on the evening of our stay. Cannot say enough good things about our stay. You’ve got to experience it for yourself!

One Enchanted Evening with Wine, Goats and Hosts
Thanks to our hosts Dave and Diane for a wonderful shaded spot to spend our evening. Upon arrival Diane greeted and invited us for a wine tour by Meg who was very knowledgable and explained much of the local history including Bacon’s Castle and Hog Island. Dave joined us and took us on an extended tour of the farm and wine making facility. The goats entertained us with their antics of climbing the goat tower getting ready to retire for the evening. After having a large lunch earlier that day we opted for a simple dinner of baggette, cheese, snacks and Hampton Roads Winery wine purchased from their shop. The next day we took Meg’s suggestion and visited Bacon’s Castle followed by lunch at Surry Seafood. We also took a few bottles of Bacon’s Castle Red and other wines home with us. Our first Host experience was very positive! Many thanks!

Stupid update.
What have you done to the app. A blunder of monumental proportions. Check you most recent reviews posted here. Developer: You’re fire! You can no longer copy an address. Why. Can’t navigate to maps, can’t read the town you’re looking at on map provided. WTH. From 5 stars to one, just that fast - who approved this change? Previous review was five stars for what HH provides (a connection between you and someone that wants your business enough to let you park there overnight). My old review: “I’m batting a thousand with this App with two years in the books. Enough info to help you make a decision and with map (using Google Earth) overheads you get a pretty good look at where you are headed for the night. Safe secure and known locations make for easy going - and there is usually wine at the end of the road. Well worth the time and money. We’ve stayed at dozens so far and continue to bat 1000 for places we’d return.” With this broken change we must use two broken mapping systems the app now drives you too with no options to cut and paste the coordinates or address. Do the people that design these things even use them. My answer is a clear no! HH might loose me over this nonsense. Everyone I know uses multiple apps to plan and record a trip and HH suddenly makes you type out every address coordinate rather than cut and paste for use in your other application - really, why?

Great adventures
Have only been a member for 9 months, but have stayed with 8 hosts. All but one were amazing!!! The properties were beautiful, the hosts were very welcoming, social and helpful. Many went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and show us around to teach us about their crops or animals. Their products for sale were always quality. And many have websites to reorder if you would like. Because of HH we have seen areas and met people we never would have if we were only staying in campgrounds or hotels/motels. We have made friends with other campers we met at HH locations and stayed in touch with plans to meet up again. I would definitely recommend HH! We LOVE it!

Just keeps getting better
We’ve been members of Harvest Hosts for a frighteningly long time. It has become a resource we use regularly on our travels. The number and variety of hosts just keeps growing! The app, too, keeps getting better; filters now identify hosts that provide electricity, allow generators, or permit extra nights. Online reservations, where hosts provide this service, make scheduling a breeze. The app itself is a snap to use; logically laid out, clean interface, and not at all buggy. If I could add anything I would like to see churches in a separate category, and it would be plus to have a filter to show stops where food is available. Nice job, HH!

Wonderful Ranch to Stay at and Explore
The reason I joined Harvest Host was when I visited the Six Sigma Winery over a year ago and staff told me about the program. I went home and signed up. This was my first trip staying there. I have a truck/camper so I was able to stay up next to a barn above the tasting room. It was quiet and the view was beautiful! I walked over 5 miles the first evening and a bit less the next night. Patty was an awesome contact- we had a great conversation and I bought a few bottles of wine and chorizo sausage. They have 4 spots and most of them were occupied by Harvest Host folks. I used Six Sigma as a home base and went wine tasting and hiking in and near Kelseyville during the day. I highly recommend this location!!!

Not accessible at all
I plan all of my family’s vacations I don’t do any of the driving, but I do all of the planning and all of the coordinating. I think that the creators of this app are just going to assume apparently that everybody can see. There has been no attempt whatsoever to make this app accessible to the blind. Apple offers free developer tools for anyone who develops an app to make their app accessible with voiceover. This company hasn’t even tried. nothing is tagged properly and I can’t enter text into any of the text fields. I can’t even create an account. This is very frustrating and upsetting. My husband and I have a long trip planned and we were hoping to meet new RV years like ourselves. We also have a farm and had hoped to become hosts, but as I do all of the computer legwork and planning and directing I’m on able to use this app very disappointing for an app that’s been around for so long.

Working great!
Long time RVers, new HH users. I read about it on a forum for RVers. Currently traveling around the perimeter of the U.S. from home (Florida) clockwise until we get back home. In northern CA and looking for something different in an area with few parks that sounded appealing to us. I reached out through the app, got a quick acceptance from a “host” with a very interesting and unusual farm. Our first HH stay is in 4 nights. I appreciate the communication from HH HQ. Regular reminders about how to be respectful guests on the properties we visit. The app and process seem to work well. HH is on its way to complementing the other tools I use to plan trips and book sites.

Glitchy
We’ve been members of both harvest hosts and boondockers welcome since long before the merger. Since the merger, boondockers welcome appears to have suffered greatly, which is the part of the program we find by far the most useful, and where the real opportunities for new friendships occur. many of our favorite hosts simply can’t tolerate using the new app. I usually have to use the rather cumbersome website to make reservations as the app simply closes, or goes to a blank screen. After so long with the messages function being unreliable, we never know with confidence if a message or request has been received. there was a time when both programs were worth the money, that time is very much past, especially for boondockers welcome. Hopefully these issues will be worked out, but it’s been a year, and when our subscription expires, we will not renew.

Can't give 5 Stars
...until the app is in sync with the website (I can't rate this app 5 stars). I've submitted a help chat request in the app. To be safe, use the website. That's just my advice + experience. It's a really great framework and community! The problem is that on the app, you tell it what date range, as a guest, you are looking for. The app is supposed to only show you hosts that are accepting guests in that time frame you've selected. It shows you hosts that aren't actually accepting guests that time frame buy you find out only after you tap the final submit request button. I've wasted too many hours on this. It's not a good app at all. Use the website.

Vino in the Orchard
It was so quiet, you could hear a pin drop. We stopped at the Recusant Cellars Winery on our way from Boise to Spokane, Washington. We had a really nice private tasting of some of their best red wines. In particular, the 2016 Petit Verdot Cabernet was fantastic. Of course we picked up a few bottles…plus a couple of others for gifts. Along with grapes, they grow cherries and apples—we actually parked that night right next to the apple orchard! It was just beautiful. The air was crisp and the stars were full that night, and again it was so quiet it was almost eerie. We would highly recommend this stop—super friendly and super amazing.

Canyon and back trip
As brand new RV’rs and brand new Harvest host members I was hopeful the membership would be beneficial. Our very first long distance trip was from Detroit area of Michigan to South Rim Grand Canyon to St George Utah Zion Nat Park and then back to MI. All in 15 days. We alternated two Harvest host and then campground, two harvest and then a campground for a total of 4 harvest host on the way to the Canyon and 3 harvest host plus other venues on the way back to Mi. I have to say it was near flawless. Only one Harvest Host refused to accommodate us and that was due to Covid restrictions in the state of New Mexico. All the hosts we used were right on and off the main freeways which also made it even efficient and timely. Whenever a harvest host was open for business we always visited and made a purchase when appropriate. Because of how well it all worked I just added the additional golf course optional section to our membership. We are planning a month or two trip in 2021 and no doubt are very pleased to look forward to using the Harvest Host accommodations.

Improvements needed
Update: The email (notification) situation has been corrected. If they can add the red mark that makes it easy to zoom in to the city/area typed in, I will go up to 4 stars. With the new update, I cannot see the red mark when I write in a city/location that makes it easy to zoom in and click on the Host. Also, it used to be (before Harvest Host came into the picture) that one would get an email if a conversation/messaging took place between Host and member. This makes it challenging to communicate efficiently and effectively. Not everyone wants to share their phone number. Email notification and/or app notifications when there is a message from a Host/member should be standard.

Deluxe Brewery & Sinister Spirits
This is in Albany Oregon. A cool spot to hand out, with hard working and friendly employees. Laura was very nice and accommodating. I sampled several brews and a couple of whiskeys. The beer was very good. Whiskey wasn’t to my taste, but to each their own. There were people playing ping pong and shuffleboard. There was also a party going on at one end of the large room. Very friendly, mostly local crowd. I found a concrete pad to park our trailer on at the West end of property by a fence, nice and level. Next morning was an easy unobstructed, short backup of the trailer in order to leave. I would definitely recommend!

Hospitality
What a nice experience we had today. This was our first HH experience and it did not disappoint . We left ct drove thru the night arrive in the am looking to get some rest and do it all over again. We were greeted by eric he gave us all kind of options as to where we wanted to park and we parked overlooking the vineyard , how very nice , then after a nap we were ready to sample some wines again it did not disappoint all so good it was hard to divide on one so I decided on 3. Such a nice place I would love to come back to the area and spend more time. Thanks again for hosting us ...

Joe Huber’s Restaurant and Farm
What a great stay. The grounds are immaculate. The people that work their are so friendly. We ate at the restaurant and it was awesome! These are great grounds to walk around on. Our 5th wheel faced a small lake with lots of green grass. Sat and Sunday’s they have music on the patio. Small market for extra goodies and a 50’s diner for ice cream treats! You can’t go wrong staying there. We will def go back as it’s so peaceful. Huber’s winery and distillery is just around the corner...no RV parking there. They have a great farmers market. Wines and whiskey are the best we’ve found so far! Both are a must to see when in the area. Thank you for a great stay!!

Be More Selective
We just drove through Iowa and most of Nebraska and we’re planning on a nice evening at a distillery along Highway 34. What a huge disappointment. We did not stay. It was pretty disgusting. The advertisement for this place mentioned spots with electricity which would have been nice on this 90 degree day. AC would have been awesome. When we pulled around the “hotel “ we saw the spots with electricity. Not only were they full, but it looked like they were living there. Trash around them and one trailer had a window AC unit being held up by a 2x4. All the doors were locked to the office and it said the distillery was open until 6. We were there at 5 and it was all locked up. We continued on not feeling safe to spend the night.

Travelers dream
For one traveling in need of a night stay without the expense of a traditional campground, this can’t be beat! The membership fee will pay for itself in a couple of nights. Recently being retired we have stayed at venues while traveling that were more than a place to park. I will typically look for a place that offers food and drink to make it easier on both of us. We have stayed at some extremely picturesque settings and have met other travelers from around the country.

Off the beaten trail
I've stayed with several HH's in the past year and all have been in areas I never would have visited otherwise. The hosts have all been very kind, their wares for sale have made appreciated gifts for my destination hosts and no lines! Read the reviews before you go and check the weather. Some are very muddy (parking next to a fresh tilled garden), noisy (next to a lake of mating frogs) or hail damage when there's no hail (under a walnut? tree - no kidding!). Adventures! That's we're out there for anyway ;)

Super hit or miss
Requests can take either 5min to get approved and it’s an amazing experience, or they just never get approved at all. Seems a lot of businesses/hosts (through boondockers) forget they had a hosting account, and leave their page as open and available. I think harvest hosts as a company need to be more diligent in making sure hosts are actually still hosting. I have a graveyard of “pending” requests from businesses who never got back to me. Creates a major pain while traveling because your left to basically park somewhere completely random, which I was hoping to avoid with this app.

Dynamite!
Harvest Host has made it so easy and safe for us to find these amazing places to stay. It’s such a win win for the host and the guest because it’s likely that we may have not discovered a winery, a brewery, a farm, etc… had it. It been for HH. We most frequently feel like we’re on vacation in our van, even when we’re officially not. Such an awesome concept that works great. Thank you for creating this opportunity through a simple, fun clean app and the cost, which comes to less than one hotel stay. Like I said, win win. I’d give 💯 stars if I could! ⭐️ 🌟 ⭐️

Not working
The latest update is awful. Locations used to pop up when you looked at the map. Now you need to put in a location, which I don’t always have when I’m traveling around. When I do put in a location it tells me no hosts were found but I know there are hosts there as the website map tells me there is. Which the website requires a route or location too. Locations should just show when looking at the map like they used to. It helps me better plan routes and trips.

Seems very nice
The road leading to the winery is very low with trees hanging over the road ( 33 ). My rig hit a lot of branches. I am about 13’ tall. When we arrived it was pouring with rain. The gravel road looked pretty narrow with big puddles and turning around looked very difficult. This is what the owner explained when we called. I was towing so my 40’ rig with a jeep in tow made me uneasy and I decided it would be prudent not to attempt access. The place looked quite loverly and I was looking forward to a glass of mead but alas, my desire did not outweigh my fear. My suggestion is to limit the parking to a rig no longer than 30’. Just my opinion.

Better than finding a campground
We joined Harvest Host a couple years ago and thought we’d try it out. We absolutely love being able to pick different places to stay around the country while traveling! Some we have all to ourselves and others we don’t but it’s great meeting and talking with the other people belonging to Harvest Host and the different business/home owners where we stay. We would definitely recommend giving Harvest Host a try!

Worst app update ever!
This has got to be the worst update to an app ever done. The last version was considerably better. I can’t see my member number and text in the messages are overlapping and unreadable. I have put in requests only to get error messages saying they were already booked even though the app said there was availability. I thought maybe it was because someone else had requested a stay at the same time. Next day there was still availability in the calendar. Got another error message today even though I was at the HH venue and knew they were not booked! There are way too many bugs with this “upgrade” for anyone to boast about. We love our HH membership but this app is ridiculously bad!

Harvest Hosts Treasures across the US
On a cross country trip, we had our first experiences with Harvest Host, it was truly a wonderful experience! Each place we stayed was a treasure and a unique experience. We stayed at wineries, a cider farm, an Alpaca farm and a wonderful Air and Space Museum, my view out my window was a space capsule. All the Hosts were helpful and friendly. Harvest Host has grown and there are many more places we look forward to exploring. What a nice way to travel and to get off the highway and experience towns and places you might not see otherwise.

Love this service
For a modest annual fee you have hundreds of optional places to overnight. We have stayed in about 15 from New Mexico, Nevada, California and Oregon. The majority are wonderful places to stop. A few are just parking lots and a few require you to spend money. Some of the wineries have high fees for tasting, $20/person. Most are in the $10 range and do not require it. Check them out ahead of time to know their policies. We have recommended this service to a number or RVers.

Boondockers Welcome…NOT
We have previously used Harvest Host with much success & highly recommend it for fun & different experiences. Not so much for Boondockers. Debated joining but decided to give it a shot before the price went up, thinking it’d give us that many more places to choose from. NOT! So far, batting zero. First host asked for more information about us. That’s weird but we complied & spilled more personal info about us. Response from host? NOTHING… RUDE! 2nd try to another host….NOTHING…RUDE! 3rd try to yet again another host…”full up, making changes, try another time” even though the calendar showed availability. So it’s looking like Cabelas, Walmart, Crackle Barrel, Rest Stops are actually more reliable & much less time to locate.

Maybe the $30 rate increase isn’t enough
The “new” app worked fine. Then there was an update. Worked for awhile, then no locations would show up. Repeatedly stated “no internet connection”. Logged out and back in. Still nothing. Finally deleted app and reloaded another “new app” per Harvest Host email. Works again. They announced a yearly fee increase from $49 to $79 beginning January 1, 2019 because they have put on more staff to make a better experience for members. I’ve added reviews and photos 3 separate times for the same 2 vineyards, received email acknowledgement on all. After 2 weeks, still not posted. Maybe the member dues should have doubled to hire quality staff

On our way north...
My husband found this spot on your app. It was the most relaxing and beautiful places. The location was outstanding and the gorgeous views were breathtaking. We did a wine sampling and enjoyed talking with the winemaker. We bought two lovely bottles of wine. The owners, Neil and Cindy are obviously hands on people. Neil told us the farm is 175 years old. Isn’t that incredible? We thought so. We enjoyed so much learning about the farm’s history. We greatly appreciated the hospitality and thank you for sharing your amazing farm with us!

Great company, good app
Being a harvest host member is a privilege and a treat. Unfortunately, the app could be a lot better especially in the search feature. Sometimes, the ratio of the locator dot to the amount of harvest host locations obscures where one is on the map in favor of what one is looking for. Also, it would be nice to be able to see the listings not only on the map but also in a list view inside of the parameters that one searches. It is a little tedious to have to touch every single location to see what it is specifically other than just a farm, winery, museum, etc.

We had some truck problems at our prior stop and we thought we may not make but I am so glad we did! Our host was extremely courteous and helpful, making sure we found our camp spot and then showing us around his farm the next morning. We purchased some buffalo meat and was given a bit of homemade wine. Definitely the nicest host we’ve had, going above and beyond to make your stay memorable.

Harvest Host is the best thing in RV traveling!
I HIGHLY recommend Harvest Host to anyone traveling in an RV! We have found some awesome businesses on our travels and stays and even joined some wine clubs on or adventures! We are currently traveling through Canada on our way to Alaska and have stayed at a few places already and look forward to checking out some more places as we go. Best money we’ve ever spent since we got our RV! A special thanks to "Keep Your Daydream” for the recommendation!

We love Harvest Hosts
We recently purchased a vintage airstream and found HH through Instagram; we just enjoyed our first two HH stays over Thanksgiving weekend and are so excited to explore more! What a VERY fun and cool idea... I love that we can easily find places we wouldn’t otherwise know about, and get to support small businesses, while also staying in such beautiful and interesting spots! We’ve already recommended HH to many friends and will continue to spread the good word! Can’t wait until our next trip!! 🙌🏼

Awesome Host!
Moose and Goose was our first HH experience. Our host, Melissa, was phenomenal. She met us as we pulled in and pointed out where to set up. What a great location. We spent the evening with goats, dogs, and a couple of horses. Absolutely beautiful. We took a couple of flights of their wines. Very unique and tasty. Bought a bottle that went great with our dinner. As we headed back to our trailer, Melissa gave us her cell number in case we had any issues. You’ll definitely enjoy a stay here.

Multitask!
Most people now know HH is an awesome program with a network of wonder Hosts that provide the best of experiences. As for the app, is too is great with one exception… Multitasking! Please add multitasking to make planning easier. Most RVers use multiple source and the ability to have HH on split screen with Allstays, Maps Safari with RV Trip Wizard, etc when mapping out a route is sorely needed. Thank you for offering the best stay experiences one could imagine!

Very disappointed
I joined Boondockers Welcome a month ago. The first two hosts did not approve my request to stay with them, responding “we are unable to accommodate you”. The third one approved my stay, his rule was that I had to arrive by 3 PM. I did, but they never came out to greet me, luckily they got a package and came out to pick it up, so I could say hi. The fourth one did not bother to respond to my request to stay at his location, so it is still pending. So, the fact that they have over 3,000 hosts, doesn’t mean these hosts are actually willing to accommodate you. You will be better investing in the App Allstays where you can locate Walmarts, Camping world , Cracker Barrel and other overnight options.

Where are the hosts??
I live in Los Angeles, CA. One of the biggest cities in America. There is nothing nearby. And then if you drive up to Santa Barbara county (huge wine region. Hundreds of wineries) there is absolutely zero places to stay. We’re currently in NAPA. The one place that they should have harvest hosts. They have ZERO hosts in Napa valley. There are two semi nearby. One 30 min away and one over an hour. To advertise yourself as a winery stay app. (I understand there are breweries and farms, golf, etc) it’s a crime not to have hosts in America’s premier wine region. Basically THE region that America is known for. It’s just extremely disappointing to pay for a app that has nothing to accommodate you. Obviously it’s why they don’t let you see the map before you pay. Feels scamish.

App needs improvement
The Harvest Host service is great, but the app could be improved. It is the only camping app I have where you can’t share a link to a site. Makes it extremely frustrating when planning out our future stops that my wife and I can’t share places we’ve found with each other. I want to be able to text a link like every other app ever made. The website’s feedback system for the app is grating and worthless, so I’m leaving my opinion here in the hopes the developers read these reviews.

Redgate Winery - July 30, 2023
Our one night stay at Redgate was very enjoyable. The wine & pizza were delicious, the views lovely with a great sunset, the place is dog friendly (the host’s dog was too) & we were lucky to be there when there was a live band (cover charge, but they were great!!!). We were the only HH guests, so we had a wonderful view of the vineyards. The only down side was that I was told to park in a place that was difficult to maneuver my long trailer into & out of along the narrow end of a level graveled parking lot.

Great experiences but needs improvement
We have discovered some great places being members. I do recommend joining! We’ve been members of boondockers welcome for 10 years. Loved hosting. Harvest host is a great addition but I would appreciate if they would improve the map for planning. The cities are not easy to find. You have to mess around with the map to show the larger cities. This was not the case with boondockers. Still it is worth joining. Please improve your map for the iPad.
