I have been using this/app since it was PPG or Pop Price Guide. I love the app but the user interface is unnecessarily hard to get the hang of. I use this app to keep track of all of my diecast cars, Funko pops, vintage video games and other collectible hobby items. The problem is most of the time only the most expensive items are entered into the database. You’ll always find Chase versions but a lot of times you won’t find the regular. Scanning the barcode is easy, but with items like Hot Wheels, you will still have to scan through a lot of cars to find your item. Don’t give me wrong, I love the app but I just wish it was easier to understand. Example would be, what’s the difference between my showcase and my collection? Buying and selling, is easy as long as you get the right seller. Give it a try, chances are you like it! Thanks Cody
I’ve been using this app for a few months now and I can say it has some great features for collection management as well as discovering new items. I wish I found it sooner! I know the team has many planned enhancements in the pipeline and I look forward to see them over time. Although a more modern UI would be nice to have, I’m glad the functionality is prioritized (I personally prefer useful features that are reliable over a modern UI with buggy or limited functionality). That said, it’s a great app for collectors. It’s the best app I’ve found for this purpose, so a big thanks to the team for putting this together!
Please add a Box to identify those with Errors. Please allow user to add an image and information to items not found. Having to Stroll for an item takes a long time only to find the item not listed or different. Would be nice if while typing in the Search box if named Item would be come up if in the Database. Would be nice if my Collection would be listed by name, Number, Series even Year introduced. Tho may take several pages to accomplish for each category. I am new to the Site so still learning how to locate Items, and a faster way. I have spent several days so far building my inventory and at this rate could take all year working it 10 - 12 hours a day. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for a great Idea, don’t know it there are others, I am here to stay just hope my suggestions are seen as credible. Make the inventory Printable, With all the work I’m putting in God forbid that something happens to the site. I have heard nothing on my prior Suggestions.
Has the potential to be a very helpful and amazing app for collectors. Don’t fully understand we’re their estimated values come from but action figures I own that I know for certain sell consistently for $70 to $150 on eBay this app estimates at $20. I like how box and item condition can be added into the details section of each entry into your collection, but honestly think that it could be made much easier to add and remove items from your collection entries. The Funko app even though it does not have a database for things other than funko is a very seem-less type app that makes it super easier to manage your collection. I have removed this app from my phone for now because it is too time consuming to use but will definitely be watching for this app’s improvement, because it does have the potential to be very useful to collectors.
I love using this app to track my Funko collection, but the layout is a pain. Clicking on different selections will open up a separate window and then i have to go back into the app to use a different function or reach another page. No other app that i use has this sort of clunky feel. Still rate this high and recommend this to anyone to use. All of the right elements are there, just seems like an overall cleanup/reorganization would make this app fantastic.
Sorry. Still doesn’t work. Wish there was a reliable app to help help up with collection. There isn’t and have tried them all. When you download this app, it’s fine. Going into the app works. Establishing a new account as a new customer? Good luck with that “I am not a robot” button. Mine won’t allow me to check mark the box. Same touch screen on my phone that allows me to enter all my new customer info will not highlight the space so that I can sign up. I’m as human as possible but not with this app. Seriously, I’ve tried several different things and still no luck. I really had hoped to find something to help with my collection. It came highly recommended by a friend who’s never had a second of trouble. *sigh*
I used to love this app for the past three days it hasn’t worked you can’t even scan anything in anymore. If you do the bar starts going up and then it just stops and it never fully loads. And if you try to get in contact with the app developer it sends you to a stupid screen where you click contact at App developer and it puts the box so far off to the side of the screen you can’t use it
Pop Price Guide was great. Very convenient for a collector. Simple and easy to use. Then it became an “app” which is just a redirect link to the website and then became hobbyDB and all the problems started. I can understand that ads are sometimes necessary but not when they make your “app” so glitchy it crashes every 5 seconds and the user cannot even see their collection. Then they decided to start charging people for this. Sorry guys, I wish I could give positive feedback but all the convenient features on here require payment now and I wouldn’t pay a dollar for something that doesn’t even work properly.
So helpful being able to add them to my collection so easily. Values are so much better, and more accurate. Also, how do you see the total value for all of your figures in your collection? Thanks!
Really skimped on the app. I wanted an app that combined the functionality of the Funko app and the accuracy of the website. Instead we get a scanner that links to (ie opens a web browser to) the website. I was hoping for something I could log into, bring everything up, rather than spending the time it takes to load the site, log in, etc. Huge letdown. Also, while we are at it, fix the website so we can choose our own groupings, have a list view like the old ppg site did rather than the large icon pics. Ever since the merge your stuff has been super jacked and not user friendly at all.
Was using the app the other day and was scanning my Funko Pops. Had to stop and went back only 90 minutes later, and app seemed to stop working. Couldn’t scan anything. Says I was signed in but had hard time getting to my collection. Would try to scan and opens up another window and then scanning worked but couldn’t add anything to collection. Even when trying to use website (on phone) it would bring me to the app to scan and it still wouldn’t work.
So this app was mediocre in the fact that it basically was just a link to their website if you wanted to do or see anything. Now that they’re trying to charge for that it’s no longer worth keeping around. This is the end of hobbydb. I pay $2 a month to keep track of thousands of comics and it’s all done in an actual app and not just links to a website.
Love the app when it’s working. Lately the app takes way to long to load!! Every time I click on something it takes forever to load. Same goes for the website. I’m trying to get my collection in order to sell and I was depending on the app to help me.
Why have an app when everything you click on just takes you to the website. I might as well use the website it’s less glitchy than this app. I was very dissatisfied. If I could do everything in the app instead of being redirected to the website this would easily be a five star review. The app just seems pointless and just adds an extra step to using the website.
What is the point of having an app for hobbyDB if whenever we are to use any feature on the APP it auto directs to Safari. When you are In the safari browser and scan an item it makes you open The APP just to redirect to you the webpage again. In other words, each time I check an item I have to open another safari tab. HobbyDB is a great platform but this is a very obvious system overlook
It’s a great app I’m actually new to it. But I thought it was a generated app but it directs you to the actual web, which I was trying to avoid. Maybe work on that issue and this app will be amazingly great!
I’d give it zero stars if I could and I wish I could go back in time to 10 minutes ago and not download the update. The point of having the app is so I don’t have to go into safari. Now using the app just opens safari in a whole new tab rather than as a window inside the app. Will likely delete the app now since there’s no point in having it if it’s just gonna take me to safari.
5 days now and still not working I left a Funko app because of this crap. Now I come here and I’m experiencing the same issues. It’s time to leave this app. What a joke.
I love this app. I’ve used it for a long time now. Unfortunately I can’t access my collection via the app or online. I keep getting a message stating a problem repeatedly occurred on the app and the online page keeps freezing and not responding. I’ll keep checking back and change my rating if it’s fixed. Fairly bummed. This app is an absolute must, so hopefully they figure this out.
App is less then dazzeling. Only a scanner ? Like I thought we would be able to manage our collections. Search within app make purchases through hobby db in app. Anything less. Is well. What we have. A box scanner app Slow golf clap I expected more from you guys. Exspecialy when you asked for our feedback months ago about the app. You guys just pulled a Dashawn Watson on us. Asked for our input and didn’t even add anything we were close to asking. Ps. The developer just keeps responding with generic. “ we have added new features in 1.3” msg. All I see is a garbage barcode scanner. On iOS no were to log in. View collection buy or sell nothing
Seems like all the app does is take you to the website. So, why not just use the website? The only difference tho is the scan feature, which allows users to scan products and add them to your collection or wishlist, which I think is great.
Tried logging in. Didn’t work and go a 404 error. Tried using scanner for various Funko products and didn’t pull anything up. Tried typing in the search bar and searching that way, nothing pulled up. Would love to rate it highly as this is the best way currently to track a Funko collection, but it didn’t work for any function I tried. 🤷🏻♀️
If I wanted to use the web browser I would have not downloaded this app. It’s worse now and you replying trying to make it smoother actually makes it 100x worse. I literally have to close out 20 browsers tabs when I’m done cause it doesn’t even use the same tab. Will be deleting app after posting this.
If you can’t keep a list of my collection and after I scan something I have to go ALLLLLL the way back to the site to do anything about then all of this was pointless. Wake up and fix these issues it’s really simple, should not have tried to speed up putting this app out there. Doesn’t even have all the pops listed, 18inch Pikachu wasn’t even in the database.
I like what it used to be. BUT it he darn thing NEVER stays logged in and continuously asks me to log in again and again and again…I’m just going to remove the app now, maybe another time when it’s and actual app and not a website launcher 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️😑😑
This app launches with the barebones. That being said, the developers have promised added features in the future that will make the app vital to any funko owner. Will gladly change the review to 5 stars when these features come out!
I was excited to use this after I downloaded the app, signed up and verified my email. Of the first 14 scanned Star Wars figures, it recognized 11 in their “database” and provided a value. Then I scanned about 10 more items and none were recognized in their “database”. A waste of time and I deleted the app from my phone.
I cannot login when the app launches the browser. It doesn’t bring up saved credentials or allow me to bring up the keyboard to manually enter my credentials. Why does the app even run as a web-based app? What’s the point?
The app constantly returns an error when trying to view your collection. It keeps trying to load, refreshes over and over and then crashes. Used to be a great app, now unfortunately it's unusable.
I used to love this app but for the past week it won’t let you add anything to you collection. It will let you add to your wishlist, but thats it. Fix it!!
You took a great website(toy peddler) and made this website near impossible to use. I have members emailing saying items not on here or can’t navigate through website.
Hello. The scanner function is great, but the app should do the following: -Provide a snap shot of the total value of your collection - allow the user to have their collection and share it in the app -provide the top 10 -manage collection right from app instead of being taken to the site.
The hobbyDB app is a simple barcode UPC scanner to quickly scan and research items in the hobbyDB.com and poppriceguide.com catalog. Eventually support will be expanded to image and text recognition as well. The application also provides a direct link to your collection showcase and the hobbyDB Blog so you can keep up-to-date with the latest information from hobbyDB!
