Outstanding app

Having attempted a few languages I’ve found the best learning experience is immersion. Followed by some loss of skills post-immersion. Kind of like going swimming; I get wet, it feels good but I’m still not a fish. Once out of the water I dry off and leave the wetness behind. With Drops, it’s more like a shower, refreshing, stimulating and quick. Now I’m clean, and ready for the day...but, I get to do it when ever I want. I’ll be taking a shower with DROPS every morning, it’s quick and I like the feeling when I’m done. Cheers Wes

Makes vocabulary a game

I’ve been using the free version of this app for about two weeks and have already decided to purchase the lifetime subscription. I honestly found myself wanting to keep “playing” after the five minutes were up. It’s very simple and is a great way to supplement your vocabulary building while not getting bored at that sometimes dull task.

Too many errors!

This is specifically for the Esperanto version. Ive noticed the pronunciation is inconsistent with o’s a’s and e’s sometimes being mispronounced. A major bug that I’ve noticed recently is many of the spoken examples no longer even represent the word written before you. The picture may stay “mi tranĉas,” but what you actually hear is “mi tondas.” This seems to be the case with about a third of the vocabulary. There are better apps out there for language learning which will lead to less confusion. Additionally, I’m really disappointed because I actually purchased the premium version.

Learning without stress

After using them a while, learning with flash cards seems to get tedious and my mind starts wandering away from what I am trying to learn. With Drops, I wonder where the five minutes has gone. I like how the words have matching pictures. This makes it so much easier to remember the words when you see objects in real life.

Interesting concept for a language app

Already a good language acquisition app because of the simplistic animations and activities, but the compartmentalization of learning to a few minutes of a day is really an interesting turn on memorizing a language...I’d like to see how it goes in practice!

Creative!

I love the way that drops attempts to incorporate the language processing center of the brain with the visual and motor cortices, in a way that regular language learning apps don’t reach with simply typing phrases. The format makes the learning feel like a game, which makes for an intuitive app interface and makes the user want to return. The only downside is that Drops restricts usage to 5 minutes a day unless users pay to upgrade, which seems like a cheap move.

So Far a Great Sop

So far this is great, but the app cuts off your learning after five minutes unless you leave a review. Hence this review. I’m a little skeptical at this heavy-handedness. I might love this app or I might hate it...how can I tell after five minutes? So I’m giving it only three stars. (To be fair, the app cuts you off after five minutes but says you can start again in ten hours unless you leave a review.)

great application

taught me some words that duolingo didnt, its great for very specific words that you probably wont use but you know in english, a step to help you with more vocabulary. the only thing lacking with this app course is the travel talk section that appears in other languages, i like how i can set my native language as esperanto on the multi language app so itll give me a way to learn a new language while retaining the old. however i didnt know there was a travel talk section on the other languages because they dont have a translation to esperanto. that’s something i really hope will come soon, but anyway gpod work

Short and sweet

I love you learn a bunch of words in five minutes. Nice and easy and engaging way to learn vocab! One thing though is after a few days and many similar images it would be nice if it tested you on its meaning once in awhile because sometimes the pic doesn't really clue you in so great I remember the word with that pic but forgot it's meaning.

Language learning game

Language learning game that teaches you how to learn the game and the language at the same time. I heard about the invented language Esperanto and just had to get a handle on it. Drops makes it possible to learn within the first thirty seconds.

Perfectly done!

I love the layout, flow and ease of use with this app. I’m only using the free version and I love it! I am definitely going to consider upgrading to the paid app since I am so impressed with the free version.

First five minutes seems wonderful!

I firmly believe that repeatedly exposing my mind to Esperanto vocabulary will help me master the language. I've been dabbling with Esperanto for a lot of years and am now committing myself to becoming conversationally fluent. I hope this app can help.

Easy to use...

Such a great app... It’s an enjoyable way to begin - to stretch and learn vocabulary quickly! The graphics are nice and the whole design has just made it such a pleasure to use... Thanks to the app designers for there great work.

It’s pretty good

Honestly thinking about purchasing the in app purchase for unlimited use. Even if u don’t it still gets the job done with only 5 minutes a day.

Vocabulary builder!

Great tool to help build your vocabulary. It is hard to find a tool that works at an intermediate level; but in drops you can indicate your level in the settings.

Makes it fun to learn

It’s just good to see a app that doesent take its sweet goddam time like duolingo that takes a century to get through a single course. Nice change of pace.

Very well done.

Keeps my attention. I love doing the 5 minutes a day. Nice addition to Duolingo. Words aren’t the same. Feels like I’m extending my learning beyond where I left off with duolingo.

Beautiful display

The simplistic yet artistic display and tasks make this engaging and easy to use. I do wish there was an option for typing, but there is spelling so that’s okay. Will pair well with duolingo!

An engaging way to learn!

I enjoy this app because it takes just little bits of time to complete, and I don’t have a lot of time to sit and work on a lesson in large portions of time.

Fun

I cannot believe how fun this is. I tried to learn Japanese, Spanish and French but couldn’t learn any of it. This is easy and fun. I can’t wait till tomorrow to learn more.

Good concept, but a little disappointed

It says "danke" is thank you & some of the pronunciation is wrong. I also wish it had Dutch as a native language option. They have so many others

Forced to give rating

I was enjoying the game and even purchased a subscription. However after 15 minutes of using the app I was required to either wait 17 hours before again using the app or give a freaking rating!!! My subscription should include unlimited use of the app not a mere FIFTEEN minutes!

Pretty good to review vocab.

If you watch or read Esperanto fontent, then do this every day, you’ll re-inforce stuff into your memory. Good app
