Difficult to find important topic details or current lesson info. Google Classroom has set an example of more intuitive navigation. I believe there should be an area where the Teacher / Educator could attach the last assignment or last Graded Quiz or last Graded Test. In our case last Summative. It would give the Parent an opportunity to see where the child is in current lesson . There should also be an area where parent Can note question for next Parent - Teacher conference. So Teachers are not consumed with full conversations on Manage Bac.

Through several other schools my children have attended over the past 13 years, I have encountered very good (Powerschool), okay (Canvas, Sycamore, Google Classroom) and bad (Magnus) apps for tracking and submitting school grades, assignments, forms, teacher communication, etc. ManageBac is by far the worst app I have had to use. It is neither intuitive nor user-friendly. There is nowhere one can see (as a parent) an overall view of how my student is doing in terms of grades, assignments (graded, missing, upcoming), tardy/absence standing, or a means of communicating with teachers for ALL CLASSES AT ONCE. I have to click on each class individually to see assignments, which may or may not have been graded (not always correctly indicated) and the grades may or may not show. The problem is not exclusive to parents. I have spoken with several of my student’s teachers and found that they, too, struggle with the clunkiness. For that reason, they often don’t bother to enter or update the grades, etc., which in turn leaves us parents “in the dark” about our students’ standing and progress. My understanding is that ManageBac is most useful for the IB Program students in Years 12 and 13. For Year 7, my student’s current grade, ManageBac is virtually useless and wastes time because I need to contact teachers, who are already very busy, just to find out how my son is doing in school. I have never been more mystified nor frustrated by a school-related app.

I think managebac is generally a good platform as far as the basic necessities go, but unlike a platform like google classroom, or even skyward, the user interface is very boring and unappealing. Its very all over the place and not very user friendly, im used to it now, but when i first switched from Google Classroom to ManageBac it was very hard to tell where to go and what certain tabs did, and going back to my point about it being unappealing, everything is too small and there is too much on the screen, making it both overwhelming and underwhelming at the same time, which doesn’t help the non-user-friendliness. I hope my review has been an indicator for some of the fundamental problems of managebac.

I think the overall app is really cleanly designed, and if I ever forget what class I have its really useful, although when I open the app after closing it it says “unable to verify session”, and the retry button does not work, but when I fully close the app it works, so it’s just a minor inconvenience. The other small complaint I have is the colors for the timetable is really weird like a light grey and it looks really ugly, so maybe add some more color customization.

Manage bac is so annoying and if we have a better app it will be so much better so we can use it easily and manage bac me as a user it’s so hard to use it I used to be (PYP) and (CLASS DOJO) was so much easier than manage bac so I beg this person who reads this please please if u can change the app please like for next year cuz the year is almost finished so yea thank you

Okay, I get it, it’s an IB system and whatever, but it is so much worse and finicky than google classroom. It won’t upload work half the time, you can never find your grades and not to mention when it just logs you out of the app. It is impossible to navigate for me, an 18 yr old. But those kids in 6th grade are probably failing school because of this app. For goodness sake, use any other learning app for the sake of the students. Google classroom is much better. If a developer can answer me here, it won’t let me upload a file. It just doesn’t show up. Help me.

The app is really nice. I am an 𝙸𝙱 student and I know what I am saying. It has been helping a lot and reduces a lot of stress. Everything you can think about learning is in this app. You submit your assignments on it easily. It is only slow if you do not have a stable internet connection.

It’s kind of hard to find out where stuff is, it would be nice if there was a drop down menu on the left still like there used to be,(not asking for them to change everything back) I’d like to be able to just have a menu that tells me where everything is

Hi developers, I noticed in the latest update that there is not an option to scan your coursework, maybe it is a glitch or maybe it was purposely removed, but it was a very convenient built-in feature, I would like it to be included in the next update, thank you.

im sorry i just hate this program. i use this app for school and its extremely annoying. its not very user friendly especially for me as a student. it wouldn’t let me move the calendar to check what homework i have due next week. the tabs around the interface are very confusing and i just don’t like it. im sorry.

This app literally strives off of “fixing something that was never broken”. There is ZERO reason why the app needs a complete overhaul every 2 months. ZERO. It just ends up confusing everyone. Just stop updating the app for 2 seconds PLEASE. Literally spent 20 minutes trying to find a file only to realize that managebac changed the location to a new “resource” tab like what is a resource tab huh??????

Missing many features, such as the Turnit In Similarity Index, that are present in the desktop version. Also hard to navigate, and constantly glitchy and slow to load. “Save Login” doesn’t work half of the time.

Half of everything you click on is not up-to-date because people don’t input things regularly. Consequently, there are mostly useless links filled with data that is incomplete or old.

First the app is hard to navigate, as said by many. Second it’s is laggy and often doesn’t save work. I have to finish my writings on a document then transfer it to managebac. Simply this app isn’t trusted to save your work. Wonder why school chose this app when there are many better ones… even google classroom is better, at least it saves your work.

After I read a note the notifications are still there. I’ve tried everything to get them to go away but nothing seems to work. This must be a bug. Please fix!!

Not all features available on mobile app. Mail or notifications are very complicated to handle. Should be as any other mail app. As a parent you can’t see grades easily, you have to go class by class, assignment by assignment. Won’t allow you to filter tasks by pending or upcoming so again, you have to go class by class.

Mobile version only good for submitting things only saved onto your phone. UI on app looks like it came from web version, and you can’t click on certain buttons, unless you force scroll and use 2 hands, which is just really annoying and frustrating.

This app literally stops working for hours everyday, the layout is terrible, stuff is extremely hard to find, it glitches constantly, and it’s just an overall nightmare to use. Whoever is responsible for developing this app needs to seriously reconsider their life choices because this is obviously not cut out for them.

This is perfect for me! At my school, we use this on a regular basis- and it exceeds our expectations! Do continue to update it, as it is wonderful!

If I inadvertently forget to sign out after reading messages etc I can never get back onto to the site . The only fix seems to be to delete the app and reinstall . Very inconvenient and tiresome !

The app gets worse ever update, I can’t even check my average grades (You could a few updates ago). Sometimes I just wanna do a quick check on my phone, but sadly I can’t.

It’s a sized down and more organized version than in Google Chrome. Totally recommend it for anyone.

Broke on me and kept trying to use faceID again and again even after it verified it was me. No, using my phone password did not work either.

Impossible to navigate on a good day. So bad that some teachers won’t even use it. As a parent you have almost NO visibility into what is going on with assignments, due dates, ongoing progress, or anything. I would say it’s utterly useless but it’s worse than that as it actually IMPEDES your ability as a parent to track your kid’s progress.

Difficult to navigate. Push notifications do not come through. Tasks and deadlines shows nothing is due. With 3 weeks left of 8th grade we are learning our student hasn’t completed work in a week in one class and is failing another only because a teacher emailed.

the app unlogs you every time which gets annoying really quickly. it takes forever to load anything. navigation is a nightmare i spent 20 minutes looking for files. and also the design is pretty bland

1. crashes every other time I close it (wifi or cellular, phone model pretty recent) 2. always says am signed out (im not, i just have to press try again 50 times) 3. doesnt update even after reload sometimes

Super complicated to clear notifications. The red badge for notifications will show the notifications even after you have read/deleted them until you force close the app and reload it.

This new update made it impossible to open pdf’s on mobile. Also it was a backwards decision to make you go through 3 pages to upload a file.

I liked how come it can help me with school work but there’s an issue such as tasks being uploaded but no one saw it.

I forget my passwords a lot and the option not to be able to see the password on other devices is driving me mad

My son uses this app in an IB school ; the interface is not user friendly, no drop down menus and overall lots of searching to find what you want. Please consider doing some major changes

It’s designed for ib schools but I’m genuinely curious how much money they are actually making off these ib schools that don’t use google classroom instead…

I can’t even login into my school email no matter how many times I try. I searched for answers on their website, and nothing pops up. I even submitted a report! Yet, I get no response back. At this point, I give up.

Lay-out is extremely complicated. Difficult to find teachers’ contact details. Too many notifications. Difficult to integrate schedules of the children into my phone. Look at the iSAMS app if you want a benchmark or Show My Homework app.

Incredibly laggy, has potential but not quite ready.

I’m having a hard time understanding what my childs grade is. This is way way complicated compared to canvas.

It’s difficult to sing in and the works are very difficult to upload and notes are not very clear and the activities s are difficult to understand and… it’s very bad 😑

The app is not reliable at all! Anyone at the school can alter any data without any accountability, as it does not record the time or identify who changed the information. This raises significant concerns regarding the integrity of the data.

We have taken classes on it and still is is not user friendly so many better options out there you as an app should do your research and do better

I absolutely don’t understand the interface uploading deleting sometimes don’t upload. As a parent I am confused with this interface. Not able to make sense of any of the other. Garbage!

no, just no. goofy app always has java script or error issues, making me have to log out and log in over 30 every day. Now the dang app can’t log me in due to a stinking error that hasent been fixed

I have seen relative degradation over the years. This app can never work fully. Always a new major error with every update.

Whenever I enter my school email (the one I use for ManageBac) it gives me a message on my screen saying that I need to verify my email and I have no idea how to do that.
