Not a bad alternative to mangaman, just has a couple bugs here and there
I’ve been using this app since mangaman was taken off the App Store and I’ve loved it. Until it started acting funny. I now have to reload a chapter about 7 times just to read it. I don’t even get the x’s anymore it’s just all black. I’ve been waiting for an update that hopefully fixes this, but haven’t seen one for months. (This I think has been mostly fixed with the last update. Just had it happen again yesterday but it hasn’t happened for awhile now. So I was more surprised that it was happening again than annoyed.) Back again. I guess I never uploaded this review. That was awhile ago but now I’ve been having glitches with this app. Some of the mangas/manhwas im reading, don’t update because they don’t load correctly, I guess you could say. I have to unfavorite it and then search it again and favorite it again. I’m grateful my chapters are still there but it’s inconvenient since the app takes so long to go from the favorites to the search tab. Side note: it would be amazing if there was a bookshelf for all the mangas we’ve added to favorites/to be read, so what were reading and what we want to read are separate so every time there’s an update it’s just the ones we’re actually reading at that time instead of every manga we’ve added. I just want to declutter my space honestly and not have 175 updates of the ones I’m not reading yet 😭
Great app! I love that I can read all my favorites and the fact that I can change the order in which the books put up in my saved Favorites, from A-Z, Z-A, recently added or even recently updated. And then there is the fact that you can change how the book pages are read, from left to right, right to left, or even as a WEBTOON style. I also made the VERY correct decision in doing the purchase so I’d be ad free. One of the best app purchases I’d ever made. Lol. There is only 1 problem for me and it’s not really a problem more like a hassle. And it’s the reason I only gave 4 stars. When you want to reread a story you go into the book but it doesn’t give you the option to start from the beginning (as in chapter 1) it starts you on the page you last left of said chapter. So then you have to scroll over until you get all the way to page 1. Most of the time this really isn’t an issue because chapters at around 30 pages. But then you have those few books at are 100 pages and so you’re sitting here scrolling all the way to page 1 and it takes like 5 minutes to do it. Then you read the book in less then 10 minutes and going to the next chapter where you do the process all over again. But other then that issue I have no problems with the app and have recommended it to several people!
Hello I found this app a couple months ago and I fell in love with it! So my mom was going through my phone so y’know… I had to delete the app. And I re-downloded it and now the stories that I had I can’t type them in anymore. I want to know in what way are we supposed to type in the names of the comics. Because I was reading “Ouran High School Host Club” and it’s not popping up AT ALL. And I had it on my favorites last time. I trie fall lowercase, without Ouran, I typed in just high school, and I can’t find it anywhere. Same with a few other stories. Is it supposed to be all lowercase or something? Cause I even tried copy and pasting it from google and it still didn’t work. Do I rate this app 4 stars until this issue is fixed. Tysm for all the frequent updates and amazing stories though!
I’ve been using MangaNelo for a long time, and I’ve had the issue countless times, sometimes I’d just give up reading manga to return months later. The problem for me seems to be that every time I read a chapter not in consecutive order, the next chapter/episode doesn’t load and shows up as a black page with an “X”. Could you please fix this bug or add a reload button? I have no idea how to read the pages that are not loading, I’ve tried closing the app, going back to the previous and ahead episode, and deleting page cache in the settings. MangaNelo, I’ve tried contacting you on your link provided for customer service and the link doesn’t work. I’ve tried going to your website as well, but it’s filled with ads and third-party sites that forcefully take me to other websites. I love this manga app as it has an amazing selection, updated regularly, and the functions are adaptable to most mangas. However, sometimes a manga that I store in my favorites will unfavorite itself for no reason… and sometimes I will be reading then it kicks me out of my manga all the way to the home or Lock Screen. Even with these minor bugs, this app in my opinion is the best manga app out there! I’ve tried many in the past, but the selection was too few, or never updated, or was just super glitchy; however, this app has none of that (after the 9.99 purchase, which was worth it) and it satisfies me everyday!
So Recently, maybe for about 3-4 months there has been a bug were my screen is black and i have to change the way im reading (left to right/right to left/vertical ect) or close out of what im reading and go back in and repeat until i can finally read. Thats one of the problems i have. My main issue is that 5 minutes ago i was forced out of the app twice and then i went to go and delete it and reinstall it to see if that would fix the problem. Little did i know all my data would be erased instead of being saved like a normal app that uses the cloud. Oh also i spent money on this app and they dont have a way to make accounts to prevent something like this from happening unlike the actual website. Aside from the huge variety of manga they have, this app pisses me off.
Like the app and the selection. Paid to remove ads which is nice as there is one between each chapter. Have had several manga that won’t load images and only get “x” screens. Have had to go online to read those chapters. Mercenary Enrollment is pretty much unreadable in my app. It needs a force reload button. Maybe that would help out. There have been a few times where the chapters of different titles don’t fully load up. Adding a refresh or reload button would make it simple to get the content. Gave 5 stars for the selection and normally works great.
I started using this app and I’m liking what I see as this app lets me read just about everything I’ve searched for but there are just a few quality features I hope be added in later updates to the app such as: - A read history page that shows the last manga (and its chapter) you’ve read in the order you’ve read them - IPAD ONLY: read manga in 2 page mode when you turn & hold the iPad sideways - Having the ability to read the next chapter of a series by swiping to the next page when you reach the last page of the current chapter you’re on - Putting a notice up that your on the last page of the last current chapter of a series if you try to swipe to the next page (this will only work when and if the 3rd suggestion is added) Outside of these few suggestions, I have had no issues with this app and would recommend it to other people. Not having those features are the only thing stopping me from giving this a 5 star rating.
I really like the app since it is easier to read manga from my phone rather than getting up and going to my computer at night but i would like if the app had it so all of the pages from the chapter are in one thing so we can just scroll all the way down like on the website, the way it is now some manga gets cut off and it is hard to tell what it is supposed to say when it does (Edit) just realized there was something to make it it so you can read it that way and i was just being an idiot
The app is great and I have a ton of manga saved. I would give it five stars, but I have a couple issues that brought the review down. First, there should be a way to recover favorited manga in cases of a wipe or a redownload. I recently had to delete and redownload the app and I lost the several manga I had saved. I managed to find like a fraction of the ones I had previously but I honestly gave up looking for all the ones I had before. Second, there’s an issue of pages not loading. There are a few mangas I read where there are one or several chapters that won’t load the pages. It’ll just be a black page with an “x” in the middle. It’s the reason I had to redownload the app.
No login option? Then I’ll just use the website instead...
First and foremost I’ve been using the online MangaNelo page for 4+ years and it’s been great. The only reason I want to use this app is for ease of access and a more mobile friendly UI. Unfortunately, there’s no option to sign in with Facebook/email/username&password, so I’d have to manually add every manga I’ve ever bookmarked...seems like there’s an easy opportunity to make the app useful for the people who want to swap from using the website to using the app, and I hope this is added soon as it would make the app way more convenient and useful. I’d be happy to give it a 5 star review if this change was implemented!
I just recently found out manganelo has an app, I’ve been on the web using manganelo for at least 3 or 4 years and my account has hundreds and bookmarked manga’s and manhwa’s. I come to the app only to find that I can’t access my account on the app from the website. Now I was wondering if you can find someway to have us be able to access my account through the app so I can have all my bookmarked reads in the app instead of going through all the hundreds of them online and favoriting them one by one.
So I’ve been using this app for a little over a month. The app design is good, I like it. But lately whenever I’m reading a story, the images don’t load up. I have to close the app and open it again, sometimes I have to do this process multiple times before I am able to read the story. I find that really stressful because I just want to enjoy reading but because of this problem I’m not really enjoying using the app. Another problem is that when I am using this app, it sometimes forces my phone to turn off. I am pretty certain the problem isn’t my phone but the app itself. Apart from these few issues mentioned the app is pretty easy to use.
I really like the app, but simple features missing makes it lose the 1 star. The ability to slide down at the end of the chapter to go to the next chapter A download option to read offline Search option revamp to let us select multiple genres A “for you” section that learns what genres you like or authors you read and has it there Some simple things like that would give it a perfect 5, but it’s a good app and I recommend people at least try it
I’ve been using this app app since the demo and it has stayed my main manga app for years. Over those time I have a lot of stories saved it would be cool if you guys were able to add in a folder section where I can store the stories I liked separately. Like a I would be able to make a folder where I put the stories I finished reading, another folder for new stories I haven’t started, and other folder to separate my stories by their genres.
I have been using this app for a while now. I love the wide range of manga, but lately it’s been acting up. Every time I select to move to the next chapter, it boots me from the app and reloads it. What’s strange is that it only does it for some titles and not others. There was another title that I wanted to try reading, but it booted me before it loaded the first chapter. I tried 20 times before giving up. A while ago, it lost track of all my reading progress. It kept my favorites, and the history was saved, but it showed that I hadn’t read a single chapter of anything. This manga app is so close to being good, but my god this has been putting me off
I’ve read quite a few webtoons, Manhua, and manga on here but I’ve noticed that during some of them the app often crashes. There will be times when the panels will be almost microscopic and you’ll have to zoom in to read. It’s not all bad though the quality is good but if you get a series with a terrible translation, it’s unbearable. Read at your own risk, often times they’re good but you’ll run into quite a bit that has problems. This app should have some sort of QA/QC (quality accounts and quality checks) before they upload for people to read.
The app has defiantly has been a go to for me to go in and just have a compile of a lot of quantity and quality works all filed and able to personalize comics so that you know what is released. The three star exists mainly because of very few manhwa mainly Korean comics having pages that are black screened with a X in the middle. Maybe it’s a corruption data of the pages, but as longs as the few but very quality manhwas that are trailblazers in the comic world are corrupted. It’ll stay as something you could download and just know what’s out in the Asia’s manga store, excluding R18 material. ( there are few, sprinkled here and there.)
I don’t know where they are getting the source for their mangas but half of them don’t even load or work, if you start reading a story, just know that half of the stories you read will have whole missing chapters in pivotal points.. Just when it starts to get good your met by black screens with X’s on them. I suggest finding a new site to goto because at this point every story becomes a teaser or spoiler if you are not able to finish. Waited until today for a new chapter of a story just so they could update it with errors. But luckily I found the updated chapter on reaper scan so I suggest you all do the same if you want to enjoy your stories, this app is a failure.
This app has a wide variety of both manga, manhwa, and manhua my ONLY gripe that I have and this may or may not be a big factor in me keeping this app is that; at times chapters just do NOT load, some chapters of material have different content than what should be there( as an example a berserk chapter might not be from berserk but some random chapter of a different manga), and at time the app will glitch out and not allow someone to swipe through the material. Those things get fixed it will be a 5 star from me but for now 3.5
This is a great app, I’ve been using it for almost 2 years. Recently when reading manga, if you go to the next chapter it shows a black screen. I found with that issue, I need to back out and manually go through the chapters. This issue doesn’t happen with manhwa. Another issue is the app will close on its own and not track any of what you read since you’ve opened the app. I love using this app, but as time goes on, issues start adding up.
This app is amazing I spent money just to get no ads but the reason my rating is so low is because of the one problem this app has from making it perfect and that’s the X’s they said they fixed this bug after the last update but they didn’t I’ve been trying to read certain manga but it’s been kinda hard to do that when every time I try to read some pages have are blacked out with nothing but a X if they can fix this I would gladly change my review to a perfect 5 star but until then it stays to this
So I recently downloaded the app and I actually really liked it. There’s different genre’s and different stories to choose from with a lot of chapters, which I like. I kept reading and kept getting ads so I decided to buy the 10$ premium. Now the app is not loading chapters, there’s a black screen with either a O or an X on it and the chapters just don’t load. If I had known that the app would do that I wouldn’t have bought the premium, I hope you guys fix this because currently it’s pretty terrible. I had high hopes for this app since I love manga but I’m disappointed with how buggy it is even tho it says they fixed the issue 2 months ago…
I used this app when they got rid of manga man from the App Store, I paid for no ads thinking this app was like manga man, I was wrong. Not only do the big X’s appear when a chapter can’t load, sometimes when I’m reading a chapter of a book the app will crash and the weird thing is it’ll crash when reading specific chapters of books, while it won’t crash all the time it’s still annoying to deal with an app that keeps crashing every time I read a new chapter for something. Manga man never crashed this much.
Everything on the app works perfectly. The only issue with the app is that once you finish a chapter you have to exit the chapter to go to the next otherwise it won't load properly. Then there's the notification spam. I thought it was just updating me about a new manga in my list being updated but no, it's the exact same notification over and over. Had to turn notifications off for it because yeesh
I love this manga app a lot! And it is easy to use and has some mangas up to date, but the only issue I have with the app is not being able to find certain webtoon like slaughter queen reborn, the princess’s doll house, first miss reborn, I reincarnated into a ducal house and was immediately branded. And it sometimes won’t load the pages to some manga’s. If this can be fix that would be great and if these mangas that I mentioned can be added in the app that would also be great.
The chapters aren’t popping up when I try to see the next chapter it’s all black is there like something wrong because when I exit and click again it’s still black but in third time it’s there so those my thoughts if there’s anything else. Please give me your opinion of what’s going on. this MangaNelo is by far the best. Thanks again by far the best app ever. But it’s still the same black with the X sign
it’s a good manga reading app especially if you bought the no ads thing, but there’s a bug that makes it so that some, if not all, pages are blacked out. the only temporary fix i found was just to quit the app and then get back to the chapter as fast as you could, but zooming in/out also seemed to make the pages appear. not very easy to read in that case though. otherwise very good app. would recommend once those bugs are squashed.
Just like the title states. Your latest update messed something up really bad. All the stories that I have read are all back to the beginning not to mention the chapter updates are a bit of a bother. Like right now it’s showing I have three new chapters updated but scrolled through them all and nothing. Not to mention the updates show first in my list which was odd to me. You say other bugs fixed, I think those fixed bugs fudged something in the process. Y’all are literally doing a two step forward with a six steps backwards.
This is a pretty good substitute for manga rock the two bucks you pay to remove adds are definitely worth it but sometimes chapters don’t load or take a while to load but the developers have a discord that you can use to contact them and tell them about issues the app is having, overall the app isn’t perfect and has its problems but definitely worth checking out :)
Since update it loads all at once but just yesterday all my bookmark reset and now have to find the pages again. Also a glitch where if you change the format to left to right when you click next chapter it goes black so you have to exit and reclick to see it again but it’s perfectly fine when you change the format. Otherwise it’s a great app
I’ve been able to find and read a lot. Good searching and filtering. Thinks that would be nice are vertical reading. Also, at the end of the chapter to be able to just drag to the next chapter in test of taping to open the ui. I reread a lot, so if going back reset the chapter to the beginning. In your favorites, have your updates first. Sometimes hard to find if you are reading something else and it goes down the list. However, I haven’t really been kicked out. Good app.
The app works fine as a reader and seems to mirror the site nicely. My complaint is the ads. I don't mind ads every now and then, but closing them seems to be a battle every time. I click the skip or exit button about 10 times, opening the app store etc every-time before it finally registers and closes the ad. Its very frustrating and on the back end this benefits the ads app because its bloating their “view” numbers and seems like a shady practice.
This app was great up until now. I could read tons of manga and I was content with that. The quality wasn’t that bad either. However, all my data disappeared, just like that. I’m really disappointed and dissatisfied that this happened, so I hope you guys can fix this as soon as possible. Also, when I try to create new data, that all disappeared too. Please fix this bug ASAP.
Since MangaDex has gone down, I've been using it across iPhone, iPad, and MacBook, and it's been a pretty seamless experience (since I paid the steep price for adless). I'd give it 5 stars but it lacks any sort of cloud save transfers (for keeping place across devices, or even favorites for that matter), and does not seem to support landscape mode on iPad for some reason, but I'm pretty sure it does on iPhone.
Really like this app I did pay the 1 time $9.99 to remove adds because they were very annoyingly consistent. The thing I was was different was a community to comment on chapters and talk with other readers, I’d also with the once you finish scrolling through the chapter it would just continue to the next chapter in stead of having to press the next arrow. For the most part very happy with this app
Overall I’ve been using this app for a solid 2-3 years since I upgraded my phone and couldn’t get back the older apps. For a good while I had zero problems, other than the occasional loading problems, but now there’s what I assume to be a bug where I can’t even read anything when I’m connected to wifi. As soon as I connect to my wifi I can’t read anything at all and idk what the issue is.
Tbh I would give this a four and a half but tbh it makes since to give it a 4 I have good reasons to 1.there’s so many adds after every chapter But I mean how else will the app make money ? ATLEAST we are not paying to use it right? 2. Sometimes there’s glitches like a can’t read a chapter or some pages CANT and WONT show up if this happens you can use a site and..you may ask “why not just use a site” there annoying and using it to much can spread viruses on your phone 3.limit to soem books (don’t expect it to have every single manga right ? Yeah) ANYWAYS! There’s always gonna be a flaw to a app right ? There’s more but nothing much :) I totally recommend using MangaNelo!
App works great, I’ve used the app for a significant amount of time now. Covers just about everything I’d want! Just one caveat being that it will not work while you are over seas in certain countries. Specifically korea, but I’m starting to think just about all apps of this nature are blocked in some way over here.
I have been using the full version for a while now on my iPhone and it works great and has majority of the manga I like. Only thing I don’t like is that there is no way to sync my favorite collections to another device and read from where I left off on my IPhone. I like to read on the iPad too and have to find where I left off.
It’s a great app, has a great collection of manga and updates regularly. It doesn’t glitch and show ads every time you click on something. There’s is a good amount of ads without removing them, but 9.99 isn’t bad, considering other apps want monthly subscriptions. However, I’d like to see some new features- - A account login page - A more advanced search/explore page (filters) - A more advanced favorites page (selecting which chapters are read/unread, more edit options,etc) Other than that it’s one of the best apps on here for reading manga. It’s a lot more convenient having it as an app than logging into the website.
I enjoy reading most of the time but it suffers a lot of glitches. It drops data, quits, has problems loading, slows to a halt, etc. pretty consistently. It is also free soooooo. Like right now, the app just isn’t working so I’m giving it some time to see if it kicks back in. On the other hand, there is no end to new titles, it updates frequently and as I said, mostly I enjoy spending my ti e reading. 🤷🏻♂️
So I just downloaded this app, and I can't find any of my favorite mangas. This is really annoying because I'm trying to read demon slayer, and I googled where I can read it for free online, and it said this app. However, it's not on here! The only one that's on here is demon slayer kimetsu academy, and I really want to read the normal demon slayer. Anyways, I just have a request that you add the normal demon slayer (demon slayer: kimetsu no yaiba) because I've been searching for it
This is one of the better reading apps I’ve tried. One thing that could make it better in my opinion is the ability to have something similar to folders so you separate the ones that you’ve already caught up on. It would make it so much easier to navigate to one you haven’t read yet.
I gave this a three star because I figured you guys could put a little more effort in fixing up the app a little bit. I’m not gonna lie, I love finding things to read, it’s the trouble accessing the chapters that are the problem. I also couldn’t find any of the titles that I was looking for as well. Would you please be so kind as to fix a few things? Thank you.
Not bad, not the greatest Only complaint for me is since the new update, I’ve been getting pop up of updated new chapters, but like repeatedly, even if I close the pop up or open it, the pop up notifications just spams. Pages have been uploaded more frequently so I see less x/blank screen and it loads smoother Please fix the spam pop up of new updates thank you
First this app run really slow on the iPhone a lot it take to long to load up some manga stories Second this app takes forever to open up a manga page or book. Third Can y’all added more manga comics on this app soon Thank you
This app is literally terrible. Yeah they have a decent manga selection but it crashes 24/7 the UI is alright. The search bar has results from like google or something and the scans aren’t even that impressive. If it wasn’t for the fact that there’s nothing better I wouldn’t even bother wasting my time. If every other free manga app and website weren’t as garbage as this one manga nelo would fall from relevancy faster than mangakas fall into depravity with child porn.
It’s a very excellent app to read any type of manga but sometimes it’ll unfavorite some of my manga and the app will crash every now and then if you try to read a certain chapter but it’s a free app so can’t complain too much about these minor issues
It’s best if you just buy the app so you don’t have anymore ads but it’s crash’s so much so far it better then the other apps currently looking at other alternatives will update/edit this review when I find a better app
