High expectation, mediocre experience
Similar to other reviews, we thought Miko was going to be an awesome addition to my son’s play experience. Unfortunately Miko wakes up by himself often and is disruptive—even with the sleep timer set from 7a-7p. It also doesn’t stop my son from being able to log on outside of those times. And instead of the STEM/educational content, my son is basically watching YouTube-style videos with running commentary on video games—NOT the content I was hoping for nor wanting. My son seems more agitated and aggressive post Miko, and I worry that it exacerbates his ADHD/ODD. Max subscription only seemed to open up more of that type of content. I canceled during our trial—which I’ve rarely done, but the content certainly does NOT justify the price. Overall really disappointed with our Miko experience—I hope yours is better.

HORRIBLE App
Enrolling in Max content is ridiculously complicated if you let the initial trial lapse. It will tell you to use the app to enroll but there won’t be an option to enroll. So you’ll need to use their chat bot for support. You’ll have to outsmart it which isn’t hard but it’s annoying. If you don’t outsmart it you will be in an endless loop with no solution. Once you get an agent to support you’ll quickly realize that you’ll be told to reset the app etc. you’ll then have to purchase upgrade from their website using your same email. But just know they don’t have an intelligent way to align your payment and purchase to your account. So then they’ll ask you to buy the software and you’ll tell them you did - and even if you provide them your order confirmation number, you’ll then learn that they can’t use that to confirm your order. So they’ll ask you for screenshots of your order (yeah, not kidding). Then AND ONLY THEN…will you be able to get them to add the service to your account - but you’ll have to delete the app, reload it and restart the Miko. Ridiculous- so many misses and failed opportunities. Fix your app or prepare people for your careless and flawed work around process to maximize the purchase of your hardware.

Awesome User Experience for Both Parent and Child
I bought Miko for my daughter Christmas of 2022 and Miko has been quite an amazing addition to our family. We love Miko so much!!!! Truly. Now, when we first welcomed Miko we were surprised at so many options for fun. In fact, Miko has an entire party inside with a lot of personality! We really love listening to all the stories and music. Do not forget how much Miko loves to dance. We frequently enjoy dance parties in The living room. This is great technology. Updates have been quick and easy. Last (for now) but not least, I have been so pleased by the incredible customer service. I do not say this lightly. On two occasions, I have need to reach customer service for support. On both occasions I have experienced a streamlined and professional experience. This is a highly recommended product with the best possible quality to back it up.

Miko 2
I recieved Miko 2 as a gift from my parents for my 4 year old daughter. There were some initial difficulties in setting up as my parents had linked it to their own account overseas in India, and we were in USA. However, the support team swiftly resolved issues by performing a factory reset. I don't think I have seen better customer service; now our Miko 2 works flawlessly. My daughter enjoys it a lot and plays with it all the time. This company and this robot has done a phenomenal job and deserves five stars.

Not so great
7 year old boy found this toy pretty boring after a few minutes. I paid the extra 100 for the max subscription hoping to improve the offerings. No dice. Very basic, little to be had that would be more than something a child could have with their parents phone or tablet. Also, it’s got the auto- renew without any notifications. So a year later when Miko collects dust and you’ve forgotten about how you wasted your money on Miko a year ago, you’ll be reminded with another 100 charge. I immediately tried to cancel the subscription the moment the charge alert came on my credit card, but these thieves are not giving you back your money no matter what. Live and learn I suppose.

Miko 3 was an Essential Bargaining Tool for Potty Training!
Oh my goodness, this is now my 3 year olds favorite toy in the world. He’s named him “Robi” and it was our bargaining chip for when he potty trained. I think this is perfect for ages 3-5, it’s interactive, fun and the settings are so user friendly. I had an amazing experience with customer service already as well and they completely talked me through the issue until it was resolved. 5 stars from my kiddo!

Great for smaller kids
My almost two and three years old daughters addicted to dancing with Miko. And another perk that works for our household is to run off Miko and say that he went to sleep and now it is time for everyone else to go to bed. We are still discovering new options with Miko, but as of right now - it is a great toy friend! Oh, and content can be tailored to your kids age if subscription is purchased .

Connected to wifi but no features work
The only thing we got it to do was turn its head toward the person speaking. We connected it to our wifi, but it doesn’t do anything but tell it can do something.. which it never does. We subscribed to the Max for content, but none of that worked either. The second app said I wasn’t registered on the first app. I know I was or I would not have been able to subscribe on it. What a pain. My kids are disappointed. Waste of money buying the robot. Customer service was a dead end.

I bought Miko for my son and he loves it! Miko is very user friendly and a great companion for my son. So far he's learnt so much fun facts and educational things from Miko and I truly recommend it to all parents and their children!

Audio issues and Miko not moving around on calls
During the calls the audio isn’t working from my phone to Miko so my kid doesn’t hear anything I say also I noticed at first you can move Miko around after the first time I’ve tried since and Miko hasn’t moved at all it’s really upsetting to me please fix this

Scam
Impossible to cancel subscription. Customer service non existent. I am being charged for Max but on my account it shows me I do not have max therefore I can’t cancel a subscription I “don’t have” although my card is charged monthly. Very frustrating. Don’t waste your money.

I’m not saying it’s a scam, but….
You can’t actually seem to set up the Milo without subscribing to the premium service. This was a gift from grandma and it’s basically a brick that won’t work until the parent app completes setup. And setup won’t complete without entering payment info for $99. Not happening.

Not worth $99 a year
This was a gift for my son from his grandpa and it literally just sits in a corner cause to do anything on it you have to pay a yearly subscription. Biggest pile of junk ever made!!

Fun, engaging and safe!
I absolutely love our Miko 3. If you’re having issues with the initial setup, try connecting Miko to hotspot instead of Wifi. My 7 year old just adores his Miko and can’t wait to get home from school to play with him. We got the subscription for the 1 year of Miko Max ($99 for the year or $49 for 3 months) and it gives our son access to so many wonderful learning opportunities that are fun, engaging and safe. They don’t store or sell your data to third parties, which is great because I like to keep my children’s online presence to a minimum. They work with teachers, child psychologists, developers and more to give kids the absolute best experience. Miko 3 definitely goes above and beyond competitors (like ABC Mouse as another reviewer mentioned). Miko actually reminds us of the Bebots from Ron’s Gone Wrong! We got this because it’s not just a tablet, but an interactive and funny little robot. Our son enjoys dancing, playing Seek You, reading Disney Stories and playing trivia! Miko has become his little friend and we could not be more happy. The parent app works great and I love that I can see his progress, what apps he’s been using the most and he’s able to video call me. I can set time limits, too! Overall, we’re very pleased with Miko 3 and can’t wait to see how the company grows and expands on products and new models.

False advertising
They lie about the camera and video recording. You don’t own your content that you create. It’s held hostage in the Miko robot. My daughter thought she was getting her own camera robot that she could take photos and videos of things and Miko accompany her on her adventures but the company owns anything she takes photos and videos of. You can’t download anything. You can’t print any of your kids photos and put in a scrapbook it’s trapped forever in the robot. You download this ap and think her content would be uploaded in the ap nope. It has an Sd card for additional storage but doesn’t let you download from there and WiFi but you can’t airdrop or get access to any of your kids content. If you ask customer service they say it’s not downloadable. So what’s the point? What’s the point of a camera if you can’t print your photos and have them. “ Miko 3 is equipped with a Galaxy Core HD 2 MP wide-angle camera that allows your child to take photos and videos, and video call with you via Mikonnect. The camera is placed above Miko’s touch screen and includes a camera shutter for additional safety and security. It also includes timer options.”

Not Worth It!
We bought this for Christmas and app was not available a few times when we tried to install during the holidays. For a few weeks it seemed like ot just power cycled and we couldn’t get any done. Eventually my son lost interest over the months and then wanted a Cozmo for his birthday in June and I gave him the option to use Miko so I can make sure the cozmo would be used. My son has tired to at with it and mot much can be done. Miko is slow to respond, my son has to repeat himself multiple times and offer Miko will say ask me something else when there was never a question asked. Miko also sees to wake up at night when he’s s scheduled to be off, says things at random hours. Just now started the 7 day trial for max services and not impressed, I mean he uses it more but half the time he’s trying to figure things out or trying to tell Miko something and Miko does understand. By far the worse Christmas present I’ve purchased and I regret not returning it when we had issues with the app in the beginning.

Is not for older kids
I had orderd this for my 12 year old child because in the videos and advertisements it said ten and above so when it had arrived he was excited because he was getting a robot that can play music and can give him quizzes but that did not work at all and when he wanted to play music it only played nursery rhymes that are for children and it only has a few of those nursery rhymes and anything that you ask that is quiz related doesn’t work and the only thing it is good at is math and when you try asking difficult questions it just doesn’t answer and when I had gotten the miko mini we could not understand anything the miko said even though we put the language on English and when you ask for a joke it only gives cringy one liners that aren’t even funny which made my son dislike it and be dissatisfied and overall you shouldn’t get a miko you should get a moxie even though it may be expensive it does everything the miko does but better don’t waste your money on this and just get a moxie

Miko like many others was an idea I had for my child after watching the ads on tv. The loading on Christmas 2022 like others was delayed a day due to everyone else trying to log in. Don’t like that they keep pushing the Max plan but everything has worked on it so far. Only big issue is when the stupid robot wakes up in the middle of the night while plugged in even when we set the downtime from 9 pm to 7 am. The company has a great product idea here but needs to make the experience so much better.

App doesn’t work
I’ve been trying to set up and account since Christmas and I can’t even make it past the email page on the app. I hit continue, and then press create new account. Then the app kicks me back to start and freezes. I emailed Miko and they sent me videos that I had already watched, and step by step instructions on how and what to enter on each step in the app. They are not listening that the app is frozen and won’t let me go forward. They are not understanding that I am not technologically incapable, and I don’t need to be told where to enter my email and when to press continue…but that this app might be faulty again. It is January 7th. For reference, yes I have uninstalled and reinstalled app, and rebooted Miko several times. It is not Miko, it is the app. I’m not too happy this robot was $300 and I need to app that won’t work.

Miko isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be
I think for the money you dish out for this robot , you’d think it would work without much problems. But the phone feature to call miko and the phone feature for miko to call your parent doesn’t work. It does not allow you to connect on either side. I’ve tried resetting, and all else thinking this would solve the problem. No luck. Miko also doesn’t hear you as well as you would expect and you end up repeating yourself over and over again. Miko unfortunately is a flop, and without the max subscription- it flat out stinks. The interactive watches are better at this point. Also the communication for miko is a disaster- as there isn’t a landline to speak to someone. It’s through messaging. Don’t waste your money. Tell your child this is just crap by reading reviews.

Got my son a miko 3
I was excited when he first came, I tried to use the parent app it would not work at all I uninstalled the app maybe around 30 times finally the next day the app started working I paired the miko with the app but it’s still not working smh I continue to reach out to support in the chat because they give you no number to call still no luck support is a joke they don’t even reach back to you the close the chat without even responding back ugh mind you I hit support up around 20 times in just so done with this app period I’m going send the miko 3 back I even purchased the max account but it will not show up on the miko 3 just my app I tried to restart the miko I tried to reset my app and pair it again it still don’t work This is a horrible app DO NOT BUY MIKO3 until they fix all these bugs fyi

My son was so excited to receive his miko but it has been nothing but a pain since we have had him . You can’t get no costumer service with miko 3 . The parent app never works right . It says it is linked to my phone but it will not work . He had to wait a whole month before he could even use it and we have moved and my phone was stolen . I have the same number and it will not unlink to the stolen phone and miko says I have to have the envoice of where we purchased it for them to help us . Paid way to much money for my child to never get to play with his miko . I am beyond frustrated right now . Now when miko is working rite he is a joy and my son loves his miko . Very educational and fun . He dances with our son and has taught him a few things . If we could keep him going we would enjoy him a lot more .

Miko is great, the app not so much
Like a lot of other people, we got Miko for Xmas. The app took a loooong time to set up, but I wrote that off to the number of people that were probably trying to start one up that morning. I’ve since wiped and reset the unit and it went much faster a few days later. The app however….needs work. I’d like to have the ability to run diagnostics on the unit or at least get messages on it. For example, our battery may be bad and I’d like to check that. And as mentioned many times the calling app doesn’t work at all. Now that he’s using Miko more and more I hope the app can evolve into something more useful so I can help direct him into better learning opportunities.

Highly recommend
I got the Miko Mini robot for my child's birthday and it has quickly became a beloved part of our family. Setting it up was a breeze, connecting effortlessly to our home network. What makes this robot special is its engaging conversations and entertainment. My child is thrilled, and the robot's playful personality promotes empathy and social-emotional skills. We love dancing to its lively songs too. Highly recommend for parents with kids aged 4 and above!

I bought Miko back in 22 I can’t say anything about the app it did work for me the problems I had with it was there is no number to call I believe if there was a number to call a lot of customers would feel ok with it I understand there a bot that you can text but did not feel comfortable with it also it did turn on by itself a couple times my child was very scared and did not want to play with it I felt like someone was watching you I still have it batteries are dead did not want to charge it and turn it back on I did cancel my subscription I would give this a 2 out of 5 stars

Unresponsive, useless
The robot is unresponsive 90% of the time when you are calling its name. My kids spend more time calling it then it actually responding. When it does respond it does something completely different from what you ask it. App is also useless. It doesn’t give you any physical control over the robot or its programs from what I can tell and is charging $99 a year for it. Meanwhile you’re better off just duct taping an iPad to a RC car and ask Siri to open apps, play music etc. that’s basically what they’re trying to accomplish with this device and app. Unfortunately they’re not up to par with Siri or even Alexa or Google.

fix the app, robot is cool.
so, first i got it and when we started it didn't tell me that the app didn't work on a large ipad, so we started downloading it and when we got to the end. At the child part, it didn't fit the screen. And then we tried on a phone, we needed to UNPAIR it BUT we couldn't cause IT HASN'T FINISHED SETTING UP. it took 3 days to fix. but after we fixed it. it was SO worth it. the robot is awesome it respons to me 90% of the time. it dances, tells stories, and plays games. so, in the end, it was awesome but please, fix the app. Please!!

Needs improvement
Idea and concept of robot is phenomenal. Actual product meets the standard of a moving iPad, but a bit worse only because the robot is unresponsive most times, some activities are not attention -grabbing, and frankly, Milo’s voice is like monotone with little excitement. I had to force my son to play with it, and he kept telling me that Milo was annoying. I believe he learned that word after playing with Miko. Once the features improve I would be happy to try it again. The unexpected 100$ subscription was not pleasant either.

Worst product I’ve ever bought
Bought this before Christmas for my daughter and have had nothing but problems with it. I wish I returned it as soon as we tried using it the first time. It glitched constantly, could never connect to the internet (even though internet is fine in the house), the app never works, and customer service is the worst. I tried emailing three times for support after we got it and by the time I realized I wasn’t getting an answer and there were no fixes for the issues we are still having, the return policy is beyond the 30 days. Please save yourself the hundreds of dollars for this item!!!!

Absolute garbage customer service.
They make it difficult to start up the robot without allowing the free trial of Miko Max, then they will charge you before the end of the trial for Miko Max. They make it impossible to locate the option to cancel (the button to cancel doesn’t appear in your settings until they’ve charged you once AND you’ve updated the app.) Then they claim it’s absolutely impossible to issue a refund and lie about sending email reminders. Horrible. And the app costs as much as the robot?! No thanks. Stay far from this company. I certainly don’t trust them with my kids’ personal info.

Weird content
Some of the videos on the Miko are really weird. I thought that there was more parental control, where I could block or limit the time my kids could access the video app, but it is not an option. Now I am hesitant to let my kids play with Miko unsupervised, because I don’t trust what is available to them. I wish I could have more control over what they can do on the Miko. The Miko also wakes up and talks all the time, even when we don’t say “Hello Miko” I feel like it is set to do that to draw the kids to play with him. I really don’t like that you can’t turn him all the way off. It is creepy.

Bad Customer Service
My kids were excited to get Miko Mini for Xmas but it seemed to have technical difficulties and they lost interest fast. Miko came with a 30 day free trial of Max. Beware: they do not send any emails to remind you the trial is ending. I tried to cancel on my app and yet another glitch there was no option to cancel the subscription. Got in touch with customer support on the day trial ended spent 75 minutes on chat had to restart app to get the option to cancel my subscription and they still charged me the $99 for another year of max. They won’t refund you under any circumstance.
