Why are there stories over a month old still in the feed??? Purge old stories after a specific time period (like a week, not > 30 days). While the news cycle may be slower in SWFL as opposed to larger markets I’m sure you can find more recent and relevant filler pieces.
I’m a fan of televised NBC-2. I thought I’d be a fan of their app. Unfortunately, the contents within the app appear to be the product of an employee the station holds onto just because they’ve been together forever. It’s lazy newscasting at its finest. Minimal amount of new stories daily, backed by articles up to two weeks old that try to make the app look relevant. NBC-2, you’re better than that, fix it. Between local, state, national and world events, there should be no reason to hold two week old content on your news app. For that matter, I believe it should be more than a couple days old before it’s removed.
This app has been completely redone and it’s terrible. Not user friendly at all, have to search for the weather which takes you to a separate site where you have to put in your zip and then click radar. The radar has no play option either. By the time I’ve navigated it the weather has past. The old saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” rings true in this instance..
Loved the old weather app, this new one does not provide your location marker while viewing the radar. (Location permissions are enabled) This is a deal breaker. I want to know my particular location I am at on the map when viewing a summer storm band blowing through. Fix this and I will try it again, for now I am going elsewhere for my weather app.
I always used the weather app and now it does not exist any longer? Why? A large new station like this should certainly behave a weather app. Especially if you want to be the leading weather and hurricane authority in SWFL.
Now if you prefer to read an article rather than watch the video you only have a small window under the video to read about 2 lines at a time. I prefer to read the articles and not disturb the people around me. I’ll look for another news app.
The most recent update is, unfortunately, not an improvement. Most people interested in the news can read, so you do not need have huge pictures to have to scroll through. Please revert back to the simple story text links, or at least make it an option.
I have now deleted this app. Every time you open it you are slammed with ads. Then, every time you open an article you are slammed with more commercials. It is the only news app I’ve used that does this.
The app needs to be fixed, I get redirected to some kind of website when I try to watch the live stream? Plus the links to contact you and news tips don’t work
I have 4K Apple TV devices and the app just acts like it’s loading but never does. Tried uninstalling but doesn’t work still. No trouble with any other apps.
This app is great for news, but often has grammatical errors, misspellings and inaccurate or incomplete information. Some news articles never include location - don’t know if the event happened in Florida or Alaska. The weather section in the news app has recently been a day old and the forecast often has the wrong days (ex. Tuesday listed as Wednesday). As others have stated, when you tap a notification, it just goes to the news that hasn’t been updated.
The app works as expected except for the notification feature. I used to get notifications which were useful, but in the last month they started sending notifications about winning money—NOT NEWS. If I wanted to win $ I’d get an app that was designed for such! So, I’ve deleted notifications and the app has become less useful.
Shame on you. I will never watch your news cast again. You used to be my go to news. I hope you’re ready for the repercussions of all the businesses that you have shut down shame on you again. Our county does not warrant a complete shutdown you are affecting peoples livelihood
You can customize notifications which is a HUGE plus. Takes some getting used to because it’s different than the old app, but give it time and you’ll depend on this app for everything you need to know in SWFL!
App works very well. But I see the local news is all over the place. Suggestion from readers: Can you create a local tab for local news? Between Lehigh, Ft. Myers, and Cape Coral, there is plenty of news to post.
Roll back to the old version. It wasn’t broke so they “fixed” it. Old version you could scan local news at a glance. Now you have to keep scrolling to even find local news. It’s not even in one place. I guess no one told them about beta testing before release.
I have this app to get up to date news. I get notifications about a news story, when I click on the story there is no story. Nothing related to the “breaking news” notification. Fix your App.
It takes forever to load. Then when you open an article the title is there but not the article. It was a great app but it gets worse and worse over time!
UPDATE 7/25/2020 I was forced to update when I realized the news stories were all 3 days old. App works on iPad but not iPhone 11 running iOS 13.6. iPad version is all I can review : Newest UI version is AWFUL. Picture blocks TOO big. Please just list headlines !!! And where did the local section go??? Some of us just want to read local headlines. Deleting NBC !!! ****************************** This is my everyday go-to app, but it definitely needs some improvements. I think the UI of the older version was more user friendly. Here are some suggestions: TRAFFIC - it is accurate and helpful, but difficult to navigate. The two finger pinch is tough and it often zooms back out causing me to lose my place, and start all over. It is VERY FRUSTRATING and needs fixed. It also should be on a tab EASIER TO GET TO when in a hurry to check traffic conditions. NOTIFICATIONS - notifications no longer have their own tab. This was a nice feature in the old version. I could view them anytime if I cleared from my notification screen. Additionally, sometimes clicking on a notification doesn’t take me to the link. LOCAL NEWS - there should be a section on the app dedicated to just LOCAL news - similar to website.
