First off, I understand the idea that this is a test and all and that is not completely why I dislike it. There are a few other problems baked within the website/app. First off, the reading paragraph sections are all jank. They give you this whole 10 paragraph reading section to look through even though the questions only are from 1 or 2 of them. It can feel overwhelming or confusing to a lot of people that then feel the need to check all the paragraphs each time when they don’t need too! Also, about the app lock thing, it is annoying but it did not lock me out for 6 hours after the test was over or anything like that. Finally, I am not a big fan of how most schools use this one test to place you in the next grade. Ideally they should be monitoring your progress all throughout the year.
Ok: so I can understand the concept, as well as why my school uses MAPS to measure growth, but the testing itself is awful. Trying to fit 45-55 questions that are all multiple paragraphs long into a 60min session? No thank you! The problem progression element is also awful. I am in 7th grade, so I have plenty of math skills, but the fact that the system tries to give you a question from a 12th grade textbook is mildly infuriating.
My teacher told us all to click this mysterious link and enter every verification needed. After we all did that, before the test started my classmate suddenly went bald and got malaria then passed out and died. After the first death in our classroom everyone was shocked and someone else got alzheimer and stage 143 cancer and jumped out the window, we never saw her again. I was nervous and concerned. Suddenly, i got confirmed in and did a few questions before noticing that my friend was purple and then he got leukemia and a new varient of covid, suddenly he coughed on me then dropped dead with all his hair falling off. I realized he coughed on me, soon i would be sick too. I started feeling my bones evaporating and i got stage 325 cancer, leukemia, malaria, muscle cramps, the spanish flu and yellow fever. I could feel my body slowly shut down and I suddenly died of death. I am hosting a funeral please come.
The app on its own is fine. My whole childhood has been tied to his app and the day we would take it. Most of the kids were happy since it took out from out math time. Now it’s a good testing system and I like how you can suspend the test if more time is needed. It also gives honest scores and even the Lexile. My main problem are the practice test. The new school year is about to start and I need to see if I should be placed in ALP reading class. When I took the practice test, it only gave about 3 question which in my opinion, would not make a child ready for the test. I thought to choose 7th grade and get new questions. However, I was greeted with the exact same questions. I even tried 8th and the questions didn’t change. What I’m trying to say is try and add more practice questions to the app. Thanks.
My child took the MAP Growth Reading Assessment for 2nd grade. Why would a test meant for a second grade level reader ask questions at High School and even College level standards?! I understand jumping up a grade level, but the vocabulary and content of the questions would never be considered within the range of an elementary school level and will do nothing to show my child’s progress or reading comprehension level. Other issues we had were there was no set number of questions. My second grade student nor I had any idea when the test would be over. Which really did nothing for morale. You only have 15 minutes to answer, which I initially thought wouldn’t be an issue. How wrong I was. Practically every question was a long story that was clearly beyond a young readers capability and attention span and we were given 45 of these questions. Insanity.
I wonder how many of these are troll reviews? Anyways, it’s an ok app, but on pc I have to turn down my resolution which is a pain, I don’t see why I have to do this though. My only other problems are that most of the stuff you don’t even know, which really stresses my out because I don’t know if I should know this stuff. Also, I wish that on the reading tests, some of the passages were from newer books, because they are so boring that I start daydreaming and have a hard time focusing, resulting me in getting low scores and getting stressed. I think that if the passages were less boring, my scores would go up by at least 10 points. Other than that, good overall app.
This app so easy. I am in first grade and did 169 questions in 3 minutes with 100 perfect accuracy. I finished faster than me with my hot girlfriend! This app only gives up to Harvard level questions can you believe it! They don’t even test on multiversal physics CD and post-calculus. What a disgrace for an app if these problems are so easy. They don’t even make us prove the collatz conjecture so how am I supposed to learn. Honestly this app should go into a hole and never come out. Even my retarded autistic Down syndrome friend said it was easy. I could go start a business and have sex with my wife during the time it takes for me to download this trash app. Don’t download this app or else it will make you a greasy fat McDonald’s worker and your dad will leave you.
I’ve taken MAPS testing with this app multiple times. Despite the fact that I do have bias towards this app because I’m an unwilling student, I’ll rate this app rationally. First of all, this app makes you lock it. That means you can’t access any other apps during the test and you can’t even look at the time. Second, you don’t know how many questions there are. When you get to the 40 question mark, it may end or it may go on for 30 more questions. This just brings on more anxiety for students, and even give them a sense that they need to rush themselves to get it over with. It really isn’t the best app in my opinion.
People are saying “This app have me Corona!” But thats not true at all. I was in a good mood because of this app, when you finish the test there is a bit of satisfaction. I don’t see a reason to hate the app, sure the test can get super hard but the whole point is to check your growth. I don’t see a reason to fall in love with the app either, but it’s a good app overall. People say it’s boring, but again. It’s a test. Not a game! I didn’t have any lag doing this test and I would recommend to schools every once a quarter. So yeah download it if you want I guess.
So first I was on a second grader test at least my daughter was second so there was a walk and her test was at the end of the day and she had her home today so her and her could not do anything on her iPad for six hours, also her self this app is horrible. It gives high school and college questions above second or third graders standards. This app should be shut down and does anybody know about the fact that your iPad is locked for six hours again also this app will not let you enter any other app unless six hours is over this app school got shut down because of this appapp altogether and a lot of the five star reviews are fake by AI
It’s not that bad. It works smoothly and does it’s job. People may be mad at the devs, but I like to think of this line from Iron Man where Obi comforts Tony when he’s feeling bad for being (indirectly) responsible for funding terrorists. He says that blame could go to anyone. The people who paint the runways on military bases, the people who wave the lights, the engineers/technicians ...etc. (but he is the villan, so take it with a grain of salt) They’re just providing a service and it’s the Administration’s fault if any when this leads to something bad. Oh, and now I have AIDS too. You win some you lose some.
This app is terrible. First of all, it is just too stressful. If you only get a few right, it will give you like a 12th grade question. It doesn’t tell you which ones you got right or wrong and never tells you how many questions are there. One test could have 30 questions, and the other could have over 60. If you take the reading test, there would be like multiple questions where you have to read more than 20 paragraphs! Every test takes too long and there are many things to fix. This app made me want to grow up to be an abolitionist, so I can try to abolish this pice of junk. Overall, i just hate MAPS testing.
The app is great but it has its flaws since we are in quarantine we are taking these tests at home since my laptop broke I am using my iPad since it is bigger than my phone I started my test then i got a message that the app wants to do a only app thingy I didn’t know what it was so I just clicked “No” it logged me out i tried to go take my test again but it removed my name it shouldn’t do that! The exam was important and I now I have to contact someone from the school to put my name in again! I really think you should not remove people’s name if they haven’t taken the test yet.
Ok so I actually just did math class and I got the app and it literally locked me out of my iPad I could not get out of the app or nothing I was locked in the app I suppose it’s a way to stop u from cheating but u could easily grab ur phone and fix that problem but tech is getting insane completely locking u out of ur own device they ask u If u allow it but if u don’t then u can’t do the test. Overall beside that one problem the app does the job and is very good! Recommend to people who like getting locked out there own device! :)
This testing device has great potential, but its one of the words testing applications out there, self lock option has to be changed, its fully obligatory, which i dislike, and at times it can get super slow and people may get stuck during the testing, the test scores are super weird like tell me why i got a 227 and not like a 81 percent or something really confusing just update it it super old, if you want a testing website that's actually good don't use this one YET, it has great potential so please NWEA, fix you're app
Come on, the reviews are by students like me , but the bad ones are either from teachers or students who have no idea how to use the app, or just lazy students who hate tests or reading and just talk about it in a hateful perspective. The app itself is really good for testing and has several features which help students.
when i was in remote class, the resolution of my computer did not work so I had to completely change the resolution into a much smaller and compact screen. It was annoying to work with and your not allow to use a calculator unless the question provides you with one and i couldnt even go to a different tab during the test. I definitely do not recommend it was just overall confusing and just plain annoying.

I like using this for important school tests, and I use it all the time in school. But there are LOTS of bugs and glitches in the app. And also, why do you guys NEED for us to lock our screen before we start the test? I really recommend fir you to fix the bugs and glitches. Thank you.
I’m sick of all these liars saying it killed something or gave then corona. Here’s my real story that actually happened. It’s legit trash, every time I use it — I see Micheal Jackson is dancing with Obama and they always say cringe ah stuff and Mew at the same time. They were acting like Gen alphas. But then they told me to use a microwave to prepare the perfect banana. So when I get home i try it but then it just restarts all my NWEA progress. It’s so frustrating but its not as bad as Khan academy.
First and foremost: this is not a standalone app. You need to have the NWEA testing platform school license to get the most out of this app. Overall this is a great tool for children to test on. Fast, reliable, simple, just works!
This app is a bad because 1 it puts a lot of stress if you were to get a few questions correct then proceed to get a 12th grade question and on pc/laptop you have to turn down your resolution which I don't see a point of that it runs smoothly yea but you don’t an app like this I have to 3 tests of this each year and their is 2 topics on each test this app isn't fun its just really stressful.

Whenever taking this test with the app, it says you must put on app lock. This means you cannot turn off your device or go to a new app until 6 hours have passed, the teacher stops the test, or you completed the test. And the tests are all around 50 questions. And, the test will automatically kick you out if you deny app lock.
I think this app is great, but for all of you who said it gave you cancer and it’s off brand version of fornite, it’s literally for testing in school, the app is great 5 stars no bugs

It’s an app. It’s alright, has its cons and pros. I use t this for school, and started using it years ago in middle school. I think teachers just love this app, which is ok, but to just know it yourself I wouldn’t recommend it. It glitches a lot, especially on laptop.

Ok in our school this app is used the 2 times each term to dEtErMiNe OuR lEvEl, like bro NO IT DOES NOT. Just think this app is a complete waste if time, and a students level is not always increasing. School have such high standards cause of this stupid app. And its just so stressing for students. I recently took updated my iPad to iPadOS 17. I had to take several of these tests and the app kept crashing. Whenever I tried to enter text into a text box the app would crash, and sometimes make my iPad freeze for seconds at a time. Bad app and serious neglect from its developers
Errors starting test for students. Gets stuck at is the correct screen. Gets stuck at the question is taking too long to load screen. Gets stuck at a blank white screen. Gets stuck at reset question screen.
This app made me suicidal because first, U can’t cheat on it while ur in a test, second of all, its made me suicidal, third of all, this made my grandma jump down the stairs, and fourth of all, if I didn’t get a high score in QSI (Quality school international) Then they would beat me in the janitors room with my dong out. This app needs to be shut down because when you are doing your tests you cannot turn off your device of exit out the app. Besides that, you sometimes cannot change your answer because of glitches.
On your questions you can’t go back! Teachers are supposed to teach you to go over your work but you can’t even go back and fix things. Also the questions are stupid long! Like 12 paragraph stories to answer one question! Not impressed that my school is using this app for our tests. 😡

Honestly I rated it 1 star because everyone else did it but once I started to enter the app, it crashed multiple times before I could even open it. I’m pretty sure it is not my WiFi because I be playing on my PC a lot and there’s no delay.
