Not as bad as people are saying
Ok, so I expected to be really disappointed because of all of the negative reviews, but it’s nothing horrible. Ok so I did like the feature of continuing to watch something while scrolling to the next. But it’s not that big of a deal. Would I want it back, yes, but it’s not a make or break. What the commercial haters fail to remember is that they wouldn’t have tv to watch without those “annoying “ advertisements. Relax guys. No ads, no shows to watch. Simple. I found it easy to navigate and enjoyed what seemed to be increased speed. Maybe I imagined that.

Doesn’t work if you are a cable TV only customer
This app requires you to be both an Optimum TV and Optimum Online customer, even though it is an Optimum TV related product. The app attempts to check that you are home by only working if connected to an internet connection that is your Optimum Online WAN IP. However, Optimum now has ISP competition in many areas. So if you are an Optimum TV customer, but your internet is through a different (better) ISP, this app is useless to you as a TV subscriber. This app should be updated to get with the times. Optimum no longer has a service monopoly in many areas. I understand content agreements are worked out in a ways that you need to make sure people are using this from multiple out of home areas. All th modern over the top services have figured this out, Optimum need to figure it out as well. Optimum should also make this app available for Apple TV without being an Altice One customer. It’s time to give up on the forced cable box subscription model. Again, there’s competition all over, and Optimum is going to loose customers to other ISPs and over the top TV providers if they start competing with compelling functionality and features.

Awful - Developers need to use KISS method - new and pretty does not equal better
Where do I begin? The Guide needs to be resimplified and if you’re looking for a show that’s coming on in the next half hour, allow us to switch to that channel from the guide wherever we are on the time schedule. When going back to the guide after looking at a show’s details, go back to where we left off, not the beginning! How hard is that concept? When searching, need to sort by most recent first, regardless of the channel. Why are you listing shows scheduled a week away before those on today or tomorrow? In short, perhaps some user input before implementing this app would have been a good idea. Once again, Optimum shows its disregard for its customers. Always feel like Optimum is shoving whatever suits them down our throats making us feel like pennies waiting for change. UPDATE: Based on my review which echoes that of others and vice versa, the developers have no interest in what the user needs/wants may be. Ready to cut the cord soon anyway. So much good content available in streaming services for a better price. For what we pay for cable, a useful app is minimally expected.

Can’t schedule a recording
Still can’t schedule a recording from the app! This has been about a year now. Forgot to record at home, went to try from the app and it’s not allowed? What’s the point of having the app? The old app, I’d do all my recordings from, now I can’t use this at all. Worthless! - Old review that still stands. Can’t schedule recordings, the guide is so hard to read on the phone since 1/2 of the screen is taken up by the channel name, and I could go on and on. I think of you read the other reviews you will get the idea...steer clear and if you can, not just if the app but the company as well. - I can’t explain how much I wish we had other options available to us in our area but alas, we are stuck with these money hungry losers. Raising rates during a pandemic MULTIPLE times is bad enough but then not providing consistent service for our kids, teachers, work from home folks and people in general is (hopefully) a class action suit waiting to happen. Respect your customers, lower your rates, give us service that actually works and I can’t believe I’m going to say this because it was so bad, but give us the old app back!

App Doesn’t Work and Live TV Availability on Apple TV
It’s been about a month now where this app has been completely useless. I’m connected to my home network and it does not detect it. It’s been like this from the last two updates that’s been published. ****I wanted to state in an update review now that this app is now completely useless. I tried on my iPhone and iPad but the app no longer recognizes that I’m connected to my home network when I am connected to my homes Wifi network. It’s never changed and the app has been fine. Once these last two updates were made public, it’s made the app act this way. There needs to be a fix for this.**** This app should work like the Altice One app where you can use it on the Apple TV. There should be a dedicated app for the Apple TV since Altice One is offered by the same exact company. Altice One has been a nightmare and this app not being on the Apple TV is probably the reason why I would switch providers since I can’t put the Samsung cable boxes in all the rooms I would like to.

Unavailable on Apple TV
It’s so ridiculous! I have been an optimum customer for almost 20 years now and I pay almost $300 a month because we have nine boxes in my house. Optimum just raised the price of renting the boxes to $13 a box. All I want to do is use this app on my Apple TV in the Living Room with my 4K TV. But the app is unavailable on the Apple TV box. I understand from technical support. They were only allowed to use three devices at the same time with the Optimum app watching TV but if I could at least save money on three boxes without having to upgrade to Altice one that would be such a help. I wish optimum would stop nickeling and diming me on the boxes and allow me to download this app from my Apple TV so I am allowed to actually watch Contant in 4K when it’s available and not through the 1080 Samsung boxes they provide. Not to mention I’ve been on the phone for over two hours in total with Optimum Support without them even telling me this. And I’m thinking that they keep trying to fix the problem by refreshing my account.

Avoid at all Costs!
Avoid this company at all costs. Their speeds are never what they’re supposed to be, and their customer service is horrendous. I was not getting a connection for several hours today, thought we got it fixed, disconnected from support, then had to get back with them when it went out again after a couple of minutes. At no point was I rude, but Candida decided to take offense to a word that’s not even a cuss word and not bad and that wasn’t even directed towards her but instead about my day, which led to being threatened to be turned into management, told they would end our chat without resolving my issue, and kept threatening me to report me. When I requested one last time to be transferred to her supervisor or manager, she disconnected the chat without resolving my issue. I have now filed complaints with the FCC and BBB, for all the good it will do, and will actively discourage anyone from using this company! This is not how you treat paying customers!

Worthless for steaming video via lightning connector
The old app was nothing to rave about but it was functional. One of the nice features that you could connect a HDMI to lighting connector to your iPad and connect it to a monitor or TV and view it on a larger screen. This eliminated the need for an extra cable box. Well the new app now conveniently does not out video but only audio deeming this app unusable for that feature. Just another way for optimum to screw its customers again and requiring you to have to get another cable box as if we are not paying enough for service already. This was the single best feature I liked and now its gone. Maybe it’s time to switch providers after 28 years. Seems like price continues to go up and more and more features are removed. Recently they removed the mcAfee Antivirus they offered for free and now will charge you for that service. No reduction in price but an overall price increase. Not we lost the features of the app. What’s next.

New app is a step down from old one
This new version of the optimum is prettier, but harder to use. The older app probably did need an update, but this was not a step up in the way it should have been. With this new version, searching is far e difficult. For example, if you search for a series that is on multiple channels, it shows the listings separated by channel, in order of date and episode. So in order to figure out if there is an episode on today, I have to check through all the listings, not just look from the bottom up or top down. Also, I find it more difficult to record episodes, and when I’m going through the guide scrolling down can activate other features. Perhaps I just need to adjust to this new format, but right now I seriously miss the old outdated more basic app. I really hope optimum and heir app developer will fix all the bugs and mistakes they made in their design of this new app!

Never works
Paying all this money for cable and to stream when away from the tv great this app worked fine for a year and half 3 months ago error message after error message can’t watch all other tv apps work but this one so it’s no my device I have been lied to hung up on promised it would be fixed it never does horrible service awful customer support . I got an email saying they wanted to help fix my problem right to them or call them I wrote to them I was ignored I called and the guy I spoke to on the phone could not have been more rude and was unable to help me again terrible customer service I recommend you find another cable service as I’m going to do that now I’m in the process of finding somebody else because this is just unacceptable and the people who work there are rude Not a very good combination when you’re incompetent and mean about it

Terrible update
They got rid of the ability to connect your devices to a non-smart tv via a dock connector and view television shows. Everyone doesn’t own or even want to own a smart tv or streaming device. Optimum is not considerate of its customers and I wish I could give this app a negative rating. Does Optimum even listen to it’s customers? I believe they’re all saying the say things. The new app is terrible and they would prefer to use the previous version of the app is the general consensus. What happened to the customer is always right. Is this an experiment to see how many negative reviews you can get in the shortest amount of time? Congrats!! You did it! To the developers: I wouldn’t put this one on the resume. You’re giving customers programmed responses when they’re obviously feeling betrayed instead of resolving the issues. Continue putting your customers last and see how long you last.

Nice but can be improved
This app is functional but can use improvement. I think I watch my iPad more than my smart TV. The app startup time is slow. If I open the app at 8pm it’s usually 8:03 before I can view a channel. It’s difficult to change channels. It is difficult to check the guide when watching a channel and then get back to that channel. It would be nice if the app opened to the last viewed channel. When I get frustrated with this app, I switch to a streaming service(s) which are more user friendly. Maybe follow their lead? I stick with Optimum because I like to watch local live channels .

BRING THE OLD APP - THIS VERSION IS GARBAGE
I really don’t understand how you manage to consistently drop the ball with your apps. Not sure how that’s even possible, but the current app is WORSE than the one you had before. Yes, there were issues with the sound volume and it would freeze up, but it more or less worked. The current app is TOTAL GARBAGE - it keeps freezing and constantly returns error messages. I’m now missing the NFL playoff game because I can’t get your idiotic, joke of an app to work - it just doesn’t load. Whoever is responsible for the redesign should be fired immediately. An idiot who signed off on this app from your senior management, should be fired - they clearly do not care about customer experience and have not tested the product before roll-out. Pathetic, guys - when you think Optimum’s quality and service can’t get any worse, you always surprise to the downside...

What the heck -upstate took away all my service
I pay a fortune to get all my services from Optimum. Rent 3 boxes to watch TV and now I can no longer watch what I pay for on the app?? What a joke. In effort to crack down on the people who steal your product you screw over loyal customers?? Doesn’t sound like a good business plan. My daughter who is in a wheelchair uses the live TV feature all the time because sometimes she still can’t be in front of one of the 3 TVs in our house with cable boxes because of positioning reasons . I spend all my time taking care of her as she is medically fragile. Even if there is something wrong and it’s not supposed to be like this I still have to spend time to deal with it??? I don’t have the time or energy!! Paying you all this money to make my life easier not give me more work!!!

Terrible app
The original app was at least user friendly. The guide is not accessible and program info is not easily seen. Very hard to navigate. Not at all happy. You would think it would be improved. It seems like Optimum is trying to imitate other streaming services but didn’t think it through at all. In response to how you can help with issues... The guide doesn’t show program information or movie descriptions. You can only move ahead one channel at a time from the current hour to see what programs are in the line up.

Wow!! Fingers crossed I don’t have to change this review. Read the bad ones but the app is new. Also Optimum is notoriously terrible in many different ways. From customer service to the old app. So far this version is actually very good. Streamlined and everything I’ve tried works perfectly. Downloaded it it ask for permission to access my account and i was signed in. Can’t believe I can say this but, Bravo Optimum!! Well done !! Well they’ve done it. Went from a four star to a one only because I can’t go lower. Went from working fine to not working at all. You guys outdo yourselves with everything. The WORST cable provider there is, and actually rated as one of the worst companies in the country year after year, of course has the WORST app available. Amazing how much failing a company can continue to do time after time.

Horrible!
Optimum freezes and starts buffering until you get an error message. Doesn’t work well with Apple TV and they encourage you to purchase one to use their services. Picture is grainy too. Let’s not talk about their customer service, worst in the industry! Had a tech come to service the issue told me my Apple TV was broken…really? All my other streaming services work perfectly and clear. Told me to take my Apple TV to optimum store so they can “fix the app”. Never heard such a thing! My husband spent over 2 hours on the phone trying to correct the mess the tech did. Apparently He disconnected all of our boxes. Been out for 3 days! Then customer service said she can give us $31 credit! Ludicrous!! I pay over $300 a month. That’s the best you can do?? Saying bye to optimum soon!

Needs Improvement
This app has too many quirks. The viewing is interrupted at almost every half hour increment, seemingly while it adjusts to possible next show schedules. Without any reason the blue waterwheel will start spinning and the viewing seizes up for what could be hours. The guide schedule is also prone to blanking out and you can't pick and choose selections. If you're planning to enjoy an evening of tv it's ruined at the random whim of this setup and the only advice you get is that program information is not available and to try again later. The online schedule is just as aggravating to use and even if you find a program getting the channel up with the app may not be possible.

What is wrong NOW
You can’t even keep the app going!!!!! I pay enough money and I want to watch tv in my bedroom and I watch the app on my iPhone. Now tonight it says no data available; YET I CAN WATCH TV IN MY LIVING ROOM!! BUT I WANT TO FALL ASLEEP WITH SOME TV! WHY IS THE APP NOT WORKING!!! IT IS ALWAYS SOMETHING WITH OPTIMUM!!! NEVER A DULL MOMENT! WHATS WRONG WITH YOUR PROGRAMMERS!!! FIX IT! You’ll stay at 1 star until I get it back!!!!!!! I’m back and this app is still a piece of crap!! Useless - Can’t record anything
My main usage for the previous app was to record shows when I was outside my home. This function never worked since day 1. How could they replace the old app when this new app doesn’t work? Did they do any quality assurance before releasing it? So disappointed and I pay so much for my service. Wondering if it’s time to cut the cord or look at the alternatives. Have been a Cablevision/Optimum customer for thirty years but they’re reaching new lows. Even their cable navigation / search is terrible when compared to the competition, including Comcast. I was blown away when I saw Comcast and I feel like Optimum is stuck in time from 30 years ago. They can’t even fix the issues I’ve been having with the interactive channels for over a year now.

Works, but not easily
At least this app doesn’t crash every other time I use it and it often loads reasonably quickly. Other than that it is poorly designed, especially the remote portion. It’s like they designed the remote to be as non-functioning as possible. There is no “last” button, the fast forward/rewind/play buttons are weirdly hidden at the bottom forcing you to constantly open them up. And they barely work as is, the registration on the buttons for the remote is sporadic and often just completely broken. Make the remote functional and not really irritating to use please. There is no reason why it is designed without basic functions and hides commonly used buttons.

Not an improvement
Usually when new versions of things come out they’re better versions and this is not the case. It is very hard to navigate this app, there’s no easy way to go to the channel you want, and it is unstable. The format of the previous version was better however I just had some things that needed to fix. In this version I don’t understand why the home screen doesn’t allowed you to go to the channel that you want and when you use the guide you get a bar along the bottom that you can’t get rid of. Maybe I’m using the app wrong I don’t know. But I don’t think it’s a good app. I’m very disappointed with this because I use it almost every day. 😔

Please fix this app ASAP
Was excited when Optimum gave me a message that said to download and use this new app because the old app had problems on all my iPads where the volume up/down buttons did nothing to change the volume so it was always hard to hear. This new app is terrible. While streaming live TV (have fast internet) it continually freezes and hangs so it is impossible to actually watch anything. Have tried restarting app, restarting network, etc..... and it just continues to hang. Would rate this 0 stars if it was possible. Have to say that volume up/down does work now though. Would go back to the old app but know it is being discontinued soon. Please do not discontinue the old app. It is not good but it is better than this one.

Even worse than the previous “Optimum” app
The previous version of the “Optimum” app was poor, but usable. The other day it prompted me that it was no longer being supported and that I needed to download/install this new “Optimum TV” version before January. I was naive to think that maybe the new version would be better. Boy was I wrong. This new version is absolutely horrible. Difficult to look at due to all the white backgrounds, and much slower to load when changing time range in the guide (once I figured out how to do that). And the menu items are hidden in the hamburger menu at the top, rather than the typical mobile UI of showing the menu at the bottom of the mobile screen. I don’t know who CSC Holdings are, but they should not be developing mobile apps.

Horrible update
As usual optimum has done it again. Forcing a new update on us which does not work properly. It CONSTANTLY freezes!! Of course as other customers have said - at the most inopportune times. Don’t bother trying to watch something suspenseful or a sporting event because you will be disappointed with the freezing and buffering. With the amount that we pay for their services, you’d think they’d be able to hire competent tech employees to develop a proper app. Wonder who’s job had to be justified by trying to create a new app when at least the last one worked most of the time. Disappointed as always. Curious as to why the developers responded to most every other review but not mine???

Doesn’t work at all
Downloaded the new app before the old was out of service - didn’t work then, and still doesn’t work now. After entering user ID and pw, get a message saying optimum video service is needed to access the app which I definitely have based on the pricey bill I pay every month. I called the number in the error message only to be told they don’t know why it’s not working or when it will be working. They are still working on developing it. Why would you shut down the old version knowing the new product doesn’t work properly?? I don’t have much hope if it ever does work based on the other reviews. Beyond frustrated and over Optimum in general. Time to look into alternatives - there are plenty out there...

What happened???????
For years the app would be rated NO STARS to finally a really good app. I opened it this AM to listen to the news with my iPods in so not to disturb anyone and I see it has all changed. The GUIDE, really only shows 9 programs, all of which I don’t watch, same with the favorites. And when you go to any of the selections and click on it it tells you to go to the app itself. Well, this woke me up for the day saying @$&&)$&. So is this the way it’s going to be now….useless! Please fix pronto!

Stupid stupid stupid
Horrible new interface for programming guide. Impossible to what’s on at a glance. Navigation is ridiculously sensitive to the extent that I accidentally skipped ahead two days but couldn’t immediately get back to the time I wanting because everything froze until that day was downloaded. Whoever thought this was an improvement doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Bring back the old format. Update: it gets worse. Takes forever to load, totally unintuitive. The only good thing is that it convinces me to finally cut the cord and ge5 rid of Optimum. Thanks fir that! And it gets worse: set Favorite channels in Guide to make navigation less cumbersome but they keep disappearing. Not worth the effort resettin* them every other day.

Worse than the old app
Just like everyone else has said, this app is terrible. The old app was super glitchy, but it made sense. I’m don’t understand how Optimum could actually think this was acceptable. I can’t control volume anymore. When I go to the Guide and find a show I want to watch, I used to be able to click the show and the channel would change. Now it requires multiple steps just to do something that should only require a single tap. I then have to navigate back to the remote to manually enter the channel to view on the tv. This feels so backwards, I’m honestly confused as to who designed this and how optimum could approve this over the previous app - as bad as it was...

Worst app yet
This is the worst app I have ever used and we are forced to use it. The old app worked fine and was easy to use and find what you were looking for on tv or on demand. This app spins when you try to get the guide and if you are lucky enough to get tv, it keeps freezing. Can’t watch anything on it. The main page is useless pushing movies I don’t want to watch. If I could give it negative stars I would. Stop trying to be so clever with design and make an app that works. Answer from developer: delete and reinstall. Still can’t watch live tv without it freezing up every 30 seconds. Useless app. Seriously considering getting rid of optimum tv and just streaming prime and Netflix since that is all I can watch on the iPad.

Frozen 🥶
Under the heading - if it ain’t broke don’t fix it- Optimum felt the need to screw up a functional app with it’s latest app update. Now get ready for picture to freeze every few minutes- especially when you least want it to happen. Cannot watch live sports anymore (for example:baseball) because it will freeze as a pitch is coming in & when you finally get it out of “frozen” mode it’s 2 batters later!! Oh- how to get it out of frozen mode? Hit the channel & change channels & back to original channel or get out of app reboot it & go back in… needless to say thanks for screwing up watching cable on my iPad. Time to reassess if $pending all this money is worth the aggravation 🤬

New app is terrible and won’t play live TV
The new app is a step down from the old app. As of the last couple of days, it will not play live TV on any iOS device. You get a “Cannot play live TV” error and it tells you to try again later. “Later” is now 3 days later and it’s still dead. Tried to delete the app and reload, nothing. Cleared my cache which lost all my safari tabs and minor passwords and nothing. Worst app I’ve ever had.

Interface is not Intuitive; Downgrade
99% of my usage for this app is as a remote and channel guide. Instead of having the remote section pop up immediately, I have to go over to a left-hand menu and select from a drop down every time. It’s a waste of time and the endless scroll on the homepage is unhelpful when you already know what you want to watch. The buttons on the remote are also smaller which I can’t imagine is good for those with coordination issues or not as great vision. The channel guide shows less information now, which makes it unhelpful in deciding what to watch. I hope someone will read all these criticisms and fix these issues.

Live TV back!!
Updated review: The issue has been fully fixed and the developed reached out by email to ensure that it was now up and running. Good to see the issue fixed and thanks for the follow up. App looks and operates very nicely now. Previous review: Someone should have tested this app before releasing it. NO LIVE TV anymore on my ipad, iPhone, etc... nothing works. Old app was perfect. I called 2 weeks ago and they said it ‘was a known issue’, but still unfixed. I don’t know what this app is for anymore.

Live tv does not work
Well suddenly live TV is now working as of last night. A Christmas miracle. And this happened without updating the app? So that means the problem was in the back end service ! Crazy that it took this long and so so many negative comments and hundreds of hours on the phone with a helpless help desk to get this resolved. I actually felt bad for the tech support folks. They had no idea what to say and seemed blindsided. Called support 4 times. Live tv does not play an any of my 4 ios devices. And right before they rolled out this piece of garbage live stopped playing on the old app. Tech support is a joke. One person actually told me to call Apple! Hey developers! Wake up and get this fixed !

BRING BACK OLD APP - This app is awful
This app is awful. Just plain awful. The old app froze a lot and it was not the best but at least it worked. This app does not even work. Talk about freezing, horribly. I like to watch my shows in the kitchen while cooking but I have been so frustrated not able to view anything. If it was not for my husband not wanting to switch for whatever reason, I would have canceled already.

Terrible design and nothing new
About a month ago I was complaining about the old optimum app’s inability to keep playing as I access other apps, so I was hopeful that despite this terrible new design - god help anyone over 50 trying to navigate the text - that it would at least have this feature. It does not. Yet another reason I’m reconsidering my huge monthly payment to cable.

Frozen app
The app is difficult to navigate and freezes often. The old app was much better. Have a hard time connecting and staying connected is a problem the optimum internet is too weak to support this app. I usually have to turn the internet off and on 10-15 times before I can get a connection. While you can set programs to record you can’t seem to watch recorded shows. Even though we have the top subscription package this app wants the user to open a separate app for each premium channel. This is ridiculous since there are so many channels.

This is literally the worst cable/service provider I have ever dealt with. Horrible service and outdated tech, which they complement with high cost. They only thing they try to perfect is how to limit your ability to use any functionality on other products. It’s one thing to prevent their app from being used on a smart TV, but they don’t stop there. Even with a cable box dedicated to the TV, they still prevent you from using their app on that TV. Why would they even care? It certainly makes the choice to use other providers easier. Anyone who rates their app 4 or 5 stars clearly hasn’t used other providers.

Cellular problem
The app is now forcing a pop up box every few minutes asking to turn on cellular streaming. I dont want to burn up my data plan and every time i say no, the channel shuts down. This just started happening in the past 24 hours. What changed and how can this be stopped! Please fix this. I rely on this app 5 days a week for business news usage. Gotta stop this annoying pop up immediately! BTW, i am working from home and using wifi yet the warning still comes up.

Sleek new Nothing
They tried to make it look like a Netflix or Prime app while losing most of the functionality. Not customizable at all. The floating screen can’t be resized. The side bar/channel guide is huge and hides what you’re watching. The size of the Guide is also huge with very small text having little or no information, forcing you to swipe/scroll forever. The Guide also hides the previous hour and part of the next so you lose your reference point. No options to resize, relocate anything. Just a very bad redesign attempt that should have never been approved for use. And someone gets paid a lot of money from our cable fees to come up with this garbage.

What gives?
Tried to access live TV this morning but the guide only showed a handful of channels on my iPad, none of which I watch. Tried it on my iPhone, all seemed normal. Went back to iPad and upgraded to iOS 14.8.1. Now I see all my usual channels in the guide, but at 12:41 PM, IT DOESN'T SHOW ANY PROGRAMMING PRIOR TO 5:00! If there’s an issue, at least make your customers aware of it! (Coincidentally, my Cablevision TV service is also fouled up, with all, channels being available but no info available about what they’re showing. Typically, there’s nothing on Optimum’s website about a technical problem.)

The app is worthless and so is Optimum support
Am a longtime customer of Cablevision and Optimum. Enjoyed the old app on my Ipad. The new app is nonfunctional. Tells me I need optimum tv video service to use. I have optimum tv service! I spend over $100 a month for it! Went to Optimum service center yesterday. Showed them the error message. They couldn’t help me. They told me to call tech support. I called tech support yesterday. They told me they’re escalating the matter and that I would get a call back within a half hour. No one ever called back. My next call is to the Board of Public Utilities. Maybe that will get some response from these incompetents.

I NEVER rate apps, but this one deserves a rating
Do you like wasting your time and staring at nothing but a black screen? Then this is the perfect app for you! I’ve been contemplating switching providers for quite some time now, and this might be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. I can confidently say that Optimum has the worst customer service team of all-time and couldn’t care less about their customers. After using their old app and having very few problems, the company insisted that I download the new version. After declining multiple times, I was forced to download the new “revolutionary” app and can confirm that it turns your phone into a brick. Do NOT download this app.

Awesome new app
I don’t know what all the negativity is about because this app is pretty awesome compared to the old one. The interface is way sleek compared to the antiquated look of the old app. I’ve been waiting for optimum to come up with an app like this where we could watch live TV anywhere without the need for a box and it works flawlessly for me from the second I downloaded it, not sure what’s happening with everyone else.

I hate this APP
If I could give ZERO stars I would!! I do not like the new guide, first the time written is so light it is barely readable, it’s very difficult to navigate to the correct time on the guide and if you are looking at 8 pm and want to look at 9 pm, you should be able to easily move the screen. Now you can only look at one channel when you do that! Also you can’t just preview what a show is about, it starts playing and you have to scroll to read what it’s about, but then you can’t see the picture!! Definitely NOT an improvement!! Please go back to the old app, it was so much better!

Meh. Good for setting up recording, not much else
Good for searching and setting up shows to record. Otherwise not useful. It’s definitely an easier interface to search for something you want to record then you will find on the website or the clunky search function on your cable box. 1/2/23 Update: it won’t let me sign in. I change my password. I can get onto the regular Optimum website but not onto this. However on the regular Optimum website I cannot search for shows to record. This is ridiculous.

Almost five months to fix
I contacted optimum when the new app was released and finally on June 1st I receive a message live TV is now working. The notice came from Apple so not sure if it was an issue on that side and not Optimum I have a 7th generation iPad. Ever since the new app launched I cannot watch live Tv. I emailed the app support email. Responded that a ticket was opened. Here we are five weeks later and getting the same error Live1003. Have followed up in reply to same email twice and no response.

The old app worked perfect. The new one u can’t jump to the show in the RC as fast. U have to goto another part once u find what you want to watch to change the channel on the TV. Leave things alone. If it’s not broke don’t fix it. The new app is so much more confusing and too much to look at to even concentrate on what you’re looking at. Very hard on the eyes. The old app was great this new app is junk. The app is horrible it now does not work. , can’t access it. Who knows what they are doing now. If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst service from a provider I have ever had. Will change to another provider soon. Optimum is useless to me now. And overpriced.

Worse than suddenlink
I never had any issues with suddenlink I could download history channel app, abc,amc and many more and use my suddenlink login to watch the shows. Now with optimum I can’t do that I log in and when I go to watch something on the apps it tells I don’t have access to this content to reach out to my provider, I have access to all the apps I’m trying use. I can’t even use the optimum app it tells me My subscription doesn’t allow me access to the app. Yet I can login on the website just fine. I have tv and internet with optimum, Very upsetting highly disappointed.
