As a student’s point of view, I love paper tutoring because they help in a lot of subjects AT ANY TIME. For many students, it’s very likely that we stay up past 12 am and have nobody around to help me. Paper Tutoring is available 24 hrs a day which is very convenient. They also revise essays which is helpful because they give you LOTS of feedback. The tutors do not give out answers but they do help you get to the answers. The tutors are VERY patient. I once had a tutor stay for 3 HOURS to help me with my computer science homework. HOWEVER, the only BAD THING I have to say about this app is that it works a lot better on the website than it does on the app. On the app, you cannot end the tutoring sessions on the phone so I have to get on to the website just to end the session which is inconvenient.

It’s 50 50

I’d like to say this app is pretty good for free, I personally don’t like to speak to people in person, so getting online text tutors are a great feature for the ones who have trouble talking! However there are some down sides, the tutors can be either awesome and get straight to the point! But others not so much, they can take up to 40 minutes explaining one part of the problem that I honestly could’ve done on my own watching a quick video, some will make me try the same problem 10 times that I get wrong, I totally believe in 2nd chances, but I’d like if they could explain step by step if I were to have trouble with doing so, I love their cheerful attitudes I think that is a great motivation! However with some certain tutors if I get it wrong their whole attitude changes, I am a slow learner, so I, even noticing in text, someone’s attitude can be deeply noticeable it does not make me feel any better, or make me feel like it’s okay to make mistakes. It makes me feel like it’s just impossible for me to be “smart” which I know is not the case, and this app truly built me out of my comfort zone to ask questions! I love this app, but mentally, for me it can be a bit overwhelming. [I love making things challenging that’s apart of learning, but please don’t do those following constantly as for it can be overstimulating!]

Waste of time

I used this app 2 times, and both times I was left disappointed. The first time, I had a small question about a homework problem. It took the tutor over an hour to explain how to do it, after understanding, I could’ve easily figured it out myself. All the tutor pretty much told me was to use a formula. It took her an hour just to say that. The second time was today. I am sick so I don’t know how to do the homework, I checked out paper again hoping they will help. I told the tutor what was going on, and I sent her everything my teacher linked. She made she’ll try solving them herself first. Then she said she hasn’t solved those type’s of problems in a long time so she’ll ask another tutor for. After making me wait 35 minutes, she then said she’ll transfer me to another tutor. When the second tutor came on, I explained them what was going on and linked them everything as well. The second tutor took like 10 minutes to say that they can’t teach “class” here on tutor. The entire second time I used tutor took 45 minutes to basically tel me to figure it out myself. Yay. The first tutor could’ve told me that Paper can’t teach classes instead of making me wait 35 minutes while she “asks a tutor for help on my homework”. I don’t know why my school suggested everyone to use Paper, but I do not recommend it at all.

Do not use this - waste of time!

Please save your time and go get a tutor from school or a better online website! I was introduced to this free tutoring site and was super excited. I have been trying to get help for a casino project for my probability and stats class. I’ve been transferred 6 times in the span of 2 hours. No one knows what finding the probability is for a game. When I click on stats help it has given me 2 English tutors. This site/app is pathetic. Currently on my 7th tutor right now, all I wanted was help for correcting it. Hey guys, update! I tried giving it another try today and get stats and probability help. I got an English tutor and then I decided to try and reset the program and try again. Yet again I got an English tutor and then she transferred me to another English tutor. Do not waste your time with this app or site. Such bull crap and a waste of time. This is the most useless company in human history, a dead pigeon is more helpful then this.

Great app but...

Great app and really helpful for when I have questions for school however, am unable to end the chat between my previous tutor and I to get help in other subjects. I don’t know if this is just my issue or an issue on the app but if you guys can fix it, it would make my experience much better. Thank you!

Unreliable and waste of time

I’ve tried using this app multiple times, anytime I ask a tutor a question they never help! I got left on delivered for over an hour before then she just ended the session without helping me, and I have been waiting for a response for thirty minutes currently. Totally unreliable. My teachers say we have no excuse to not do our homework because of all our “resources” but this is completely unhelpful. I don’t know if the tutors are just terrible or if its a technical issue, but I don't understand why they greet me then never help. They act friendly but this app doesn’t even work??? Makes my homework take way longer than just googling the answers. They talk about how they’re “available 24/7” but I’ve never received assistance even after giving this multiple times.

Technical issues, but great otherwise!

I love paper and it’s really helped me out. But one thing I noticed when I was typing to a tutor my keyboard kept glitching in the app and kept going down making it take forever to write. Other than that minor issue, all the tutors I’ve had so far have been amazing! They’ve helped me understand and improve my school work. I wish though to get that keyboard fixed so it doesn’t keep going down though. It’s a great app though, and I highly recommend it.

Inconvienent to use.

I use this app many times and yes It has helped. The thing is the tutors take 5-10 minutes to reply to your message and repeat this over a course of a few messages then hours can pass. I had to finish a math problem in three or so hours because of that. Also constantly getting transferred when solving a problem is very frustrating. App was a waste of time to use. I’d rather just study myself than ask for help using this app. I use this app while doing other tasks so there’s that because of how long the tutors take to reply It’s not the tutors fault . It’s more or so the technical issue and how the Paper app is designed. From a students point of view this is extremely frustrating.

Deleting this app right now

I would give a 0 star if I could but since one is the lowest I will have to stick with it. First of all, the tutors take at least 9 minutes to respond back and it takes at least 2 + hours just to help me figure out with a simple question. And no the reason the tutors responded back slowly is not because of the internet, it either just takes them a long time to figure it out or their on their phone and ignoring me. This didn’t just happen with one tutor either, this happens multiple times. They would always responded back 9 minutes or more after I gave them my question.

Why can’t I use this app after graduating?!

After graduating high school I got banned from my login! This app was super helpful and I would love to sign up but it doesn’t seem to have this option! It only gives the option to log in! I would love a response please

Why I like and why I don’t like paper

I download it on my phone at home and I couldn’t fine my work or do work that I haven’t done yet but overall it’s pretty good I like how I can talk to real life people and not robots

Hit or miss

some tutors are pretty helpful, MOST of them i feel like are just stalling and don’t actually help. It feels like they’re just stalling out equations while they get paid. I’ve been transferred to other tutors so many times, i think they should also fix that

Disclaimer not a great review but is honest

I was told about this app by my school and all I will say is it makes me hate math more. Secondly, the people that help are basically ais every time and take way too long to do anything. For instance in person it takes me 20 minutes to do 5 problems on this crappy app it takes me an hour an a half people saying this is good are acoustic

Not letting me log into On phone

So it lets me log on with computer but not a phone and I am entering the correct info!

Very unclear

used to use the website last year when I was in 10th grade and it seemed to work very nicely. Now, for some reason, it won’t explain why I can’t login using my school email, I can’t use my personal email either. It will pop up with a notification saying I need to wait a moment, but not actually work again.

This App will Waste your Time

I spend 30 minutes of valuable studying time, on grade slam app. The tutors have no knowledge of the subjects. Waste of time. Cant’t believe my school district would support a program that a fraud. Within that 30 minutes was between 5 tutors who had knowledge of the subject. I want Grade Slam to say sorry for wasting my time, and all of the tutors to get fired, since they careless about answer your questions.

Amazing tutoring app AND available 24/7!

My son used this today for a geometry problem he was struggling with and he logged on and he got the help he needed very fast! I love that it's all subjects 24/7 and bilingual!!

Phone problems

If anyone uses this app on phone then some texts will get delayed and the tutors would end the session thinking you are inactive. Use a laptop if possible

Keyboard & Camera

Worst keyboard ever. My keyboard won’t disappear even when I swipe it down. Also, the camera is extremely poor quality and makes every picture a vignette and all photos seem less than 720 pixels.

Creating an account is nearly impossible

It won’t recognize my Google account or Apple account and provides no option to actually create an account on the app or website.

Waste of time

Truly a waste of time. I’ve used this app twice and was not able to get the help I needed. One time, it took me 4 tutors to solve one singular question. In addition, their shifts always seem to be ending no matter what time of day it is.

Student POV

For some reason it will not let me login with class Lincoln. That’s what my school uses and also Google is blocked from it as well so I cannot log into the paper app. This app is horrible.

extremely unhelpful, wasted my time for over an hour. didn’t even know the question i was asking and was a complete waste of time. one of the worst tutoring experiences i’ve ever had, tutor looked up the answer online then gave me an answer which was wrong so i told her it was wrong and she said “sorry, you’re right...” and proceeded to keep wasting my time. made my stressed night even worse.

First I would like to say that some tutors take forever to respond but some r SUPER fast.some tutors don’t understand how much you need help because you struggle but others r ok and um the app controls r a bit weird

can’t sign in

I click the app, sign in with clever. I sign in, it says go to portal. I go to portal and click the paper app in clever. It tells me to sign in with school name, I put my school and it tells me, “Sign in with email, username, or SSO error.” Hellooo, I just tried signing it with my email and username for school and it didn’t work? It sent me to the paper webpage, don’t you think I tried to sign in?
