It’s a ok app but $7 a week is way toooooooo Much! That’s $28 a month ridiculous! I remember when this app was $1.99 or free Apple really needs to get a handle on this “ subscription app”crap or customers will leave!
I’m not against paying for apps. I enjoy procreate and adobe fresco. I’m willing to pay if it adds value to my pipeline. This however does not. The idea is great. It’s why it got me to download and try it. But the implementation is glitchy. Works better with the proprietary art, but for my uses I really need to import my own stuff, and it starts faltering shortly after I do so. Also there is a glitch where it infinitely zooms away from the edit field after placing 3 objects. There aren’t many tools that can be creatively used. It’s capable of making very basic tileable patterns, you can’t use it for making game tiles or web design wallpapers. This on top of the predatory subscription model makes this a very disappointing app. I could see this pleasing very casual users for a .99 cent one time download price. But currently I recommend anyone on the fence to give this a pass.
This app is exactly what I need to make a pattern for a project of mine, but the user interface is less than good. You can’t zoom in very far, and it’s very touchy. It’s hard to keep images the same size while rotating them. If there were two separate ways to rotate images vs move images, things would run much smoother. (ie how transforming and rotating and enlarging images on google slides works) It would also help if just tapping the image allowed you to access the (duplicate, horizontal flip, vertical flip) menu. Currently you have to move the image, then tap and hold it twice to get the menu to pop up. It’s very clunky. Otherwise the app does its job.
I love the idea of the app (hence the two stars as opposed to one) but something about the phone interface is VERY difficult to use. It may be because I’m used to using a computer being precise with alignments, measurements, etc but it’s very hard to align the objects and make them the size I want them to be. Additionally, I appreciate the size of the motif selection but it’s honestly overwhelming. It’s hard to sort through everything and the categories are messy at best. You can’t search for categories or anything, just endless scrolling. Will be deleting as I don’t see myself using this app unless they improve the interface.
The functionality is missing a few key features. And $364 a year is absurd for what this offers. 1) the app doesn’t automatically pattern options that go over the edge of your work space. To get a true perfect pattern you have to fit your objects within the square, which defeats the purpose, or duplicate objects and resize / move it to be perfectly aligned. 2) you can’t duplicate or delete an object. So if you want to get a nice pattern with objects that overlap the edges you have to eyeball it and hope you get it perfect 3) no customization for output sizes or shapes when you save 4) The app crashes every time I try to save 5) no easy option to create transparency for your own artwork. The eraser is ok but an easier tool would be the ability to select a solid color (like an unwanted background) or use a selection tool Overall, very mediocre and I’m sorry. When your limited app costs more than an Adobe app, you need to rethink your pricing.
The system keeps turning off when I have just about finished a design. Very frustrating. I like it otherwise, but it needs a lot of work! I wish I could have more positive things to say about this app. Please get this up and running correctly. And you’ll have the best app out there for patterns,
This app is pretty cool, I just downloaded it. Only two things I’m not fond of. One, with the free trial you have a certain number of patterns you can create a day, it asks you to sign up to create more, but you’re already signed up. So that’s annoying. Other thing is there aren’t a lot of options in some categories, nor is the app easy to maneuver. So overall it’s okay if you just want something to do, if you’re trying to actually create, I wouldn’t recommend.
It does exactly what I need it to do PERFECTLY (I’m a surface designer. I design complex repeat pattern tiles and I needed and application that would quickly and easily apply the repeat to a large canvas). It’s super quick and easy, just upload your tile and press apply, then drag the slider and save. BUT you only get to make two patterns a day for free. And unfortunately I needed to make THREE today.
This app is amazing! Create some cool backgrounds for you mobile! Honestly! You don’t even need to buy premium, and still have tons of stuff to work with! I definitely recommend this app if you are looking for cute backgrounds!
I was ready to buy a yearly subscription but wow, I can’t save anything worth using! Motifs pop behind each other and can’t be brought forward, the elements are very hard to resize and rotate w any finesse, and there’s no logic to the order of the elements which changes every time you close and reopen the picker. Search is non existent. Very disappointing
As soon as I downloaded the app, the pop up screen automatically signs you up for a free trial that will expire after a few days. Which creates a subscription that you have to pay $40 for, and you most likely won’t even know you are subscribed. I don’t know if I am subscribed because it gave me no other option. The ads look nice, but they are scamming you.
Highly recommend. Would love to be able to pick my own paint colors & more cheetah options ☺️ I’d also like to see what the paid features offer? Seriously, this app is really great!
It’s just that I think they should add a search bar to the motifs when you’re creating a pattern. It’s just a pain to scroll through until you find the category you’re looking for. For example I was just looking for the “cat” and “sea” categories but I couldn’t find the cat category.
I have it 3 stars bcz I felt it was pretty expensive for an app that is limited to the art it has. I had another app that was free and had more content on it. Also for the price it should have more options to work with. Other than that I liked it.
Not truly seamless after edit, but works great otherwise
I uploaded one of my designs edits to Spoonflower and there were hairline spaces on my fabric. Easy fix but be careful if you use this for fabric designing.
This app is great for editing photos and making cute customized schedules. A little tricky to operate, not a great variety of stickers to edit with, but it is great that you can make your creations private or public. :)
The idea is great and the motifs are nice. The problem is that once you add the third or forth motif, the app glitches and destroys your entire work. It’s kind of annoying because you need to start all over. Also there’s no search button for motifs which is annoying
I downloaded this app to try it out and the idea of it is great! Even the motifs I thought were cute. BUT it’s a nightmare to control, it just kept getting stuck or delayed and the tools aren’t that that great. Even making an object smaller or rotate was hard. I don’t think I’ll ever use it again :(
This should be a one time 6.99 purchase. I’m shocked that anyone pays beyond the trial. I’m dumbfounded that anyone would pay 6.99 a week. Disappointing because it’s a cool app and I actually imagine that the company would make more money if it was a one time purchase and they attracted more people.
First, I was promised a 3 day free trial, and afterwards, I would be charged for $6.99/ month. As soon as I agreed to it, I got a tex message saying my bank was charged $12 by their company and I’m now negative $45 in my bank account. Over a FREE TRIAL that was supposed to cost $7. Don’t waste your tune in trash like this. I wish I could give ZERO STARS.
I love this idea, but you can not find anything!!! They have so many awesome images to use, but you can’t search for anything specific. They also have no rhyme or reason for their organization. Not even alphabetical order!
Every time I think I have something in the right spot and I try to add a new element it selects a different area and then my whole pattern is destroyed and there is no undo button on that screen. VERY frustrating
Accidentally deleted an image I meticulously erased around, and couldn’t undo. Had to start all over again. Non responsive to gestures and does what it wants. Super irritating, but since it can yield cool results, I’ll keep playing around with it.
I thought this was a free app with add ins! Turns out you are signing up for only a 3-DAY(!!!) free trial then it automatically converts to a $6.99 WEEKLY subscription! Very difficult to unsubscribe - I think it may be impossible to do so until subscription starts and you’ve already lost $6.99 on an app you’ve never even used!
For $28 a month to create patterns? Really? And it doesn’t work like it’s supposed to. If you put an image in the edge, it doesn’t repeat it at the other end and so your patterns will look “boxy”. Worthless. I’m deleting.
