Great app for therapist CEs! Dashboard feature needed.
PESI has great digital seminars and online courses and tons of sales that make these courses very accessible to therapists. The app works great, is very visibly appealing, and allows easy viewing of videos and other course materials/handouts. The app even allows you to download training videos for offline viewing which is invaluable. The only reason for my rating this app 4 instead of 5 stars, is that you do not have the ability to delete online courses or seminars. Because PESI offers a lot of free live trainings during their sales, it you sign up for some that you miss or later decide not to do, you are unable to delete them and it makes your dashboard incredibly cluttered and visibly to scroll through the long list of courses to find the ones you are working on, as the ones you already have completed and the free live expired courses are all on the same list. Please add a feature to delete courses or sort them into different drop downs/areas on the dashboard by active, completed, and expired.
I’m very impressed by the content I’ve been viewing, but the app I’m viewing it in is frustrating, to say the least. First, it’s an app…a mobile app - which means you should be able to easily view the content in landscape mode since, well, content on mobile devices is better viewed that way. Fail. Second, it’s a mobile app - which means people using it are most likely not sitting at a desk, they are…mobile…and have more frequent interruptions that require pausing the content and easily resuming it at the same spot later one. Fail. Third, I except that the quiz I’m required to take to obtain a certificate is on the material I just viewed. Fail. Fourth, when I enter my license number for CE reporting, verify its accuracy three times, I expect to receive the emailed certificate with my accurate license number on it. Fail.
This review is based on the app that I have observed so far, and not in regards to the course content as each course varies. So far my issues with the app have been that it does not support Split View in order to google or research something as the course is being viewed without stopping it. Next is that the enlargement button when viewing screen is at its smallest, it is hovering right above the timeline bar and it is very easy to click the bar and skip to the end of the video, causing to to have to search for you space on the timeline again. Finally, the last thing is that when open the open it only stays in the vertical position and does not rotate until you open the video itself.
I am an occupational therapist and have recently been really struggling with my 15 year old son who was diagnosed with ADHD. I decided to devote my required 24 hours of CEUs to understanding ADHD so that I could help him. I was BLOWN AWAY with how informative as well as entertaining this presenter was. I cannot wait to try these strategies with my son and I feel for the first time HOPEFUL that together we can implement real change! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart up, and from the top of my head down!!!!!
Just attended their Long COVID course. Speakers obviously are NOT clinical experts, gave minimal evidence- based information, on multiple occasions were corrected by participants via the chat box, offered significant opinion instead of evidence, offered supplement advice that is completely counterintuitive to medical knowledge. Messaged the company who said they would review it, but doubtful that they will. The two speakers (Karen Pryor, PhD, PT, DPT, CH, CFPS & Michel (Shelly) Denes, PT, CFPS, C/NDT, CGCP) have multiple courses they have created and are offered by PESI; highly do NOT recommend attending a course with these speakers- unprofessional, purporting to be expert speakers in this topic where they do not have accurate and insightful content in the seminar as well as presenting inaccurate information.

It’s good that PESI offer this type of self-study course and not time limited. Just like me as a nurse it’s difficult to have my own time for self studying. I would definitely recommend this website and I will get more study course.
I reviewed it earlier after two classes…. I’ve finished several more on the app, and finally borrowed a computer to finish an 18 hour program. On the app, with my ipad, the program runs on about 1/4 of the screen, the slides are cut off and mostly unreadable due to their size, and trying to return after a pause is tricky… sometimes it starts over, sometimes it starts at the correct spot but plays another version over the top. I used this app about a year ago for a class and it worked pretty well. Not anymore.
This app is not super functional or user friendly. When it works it works though typically not completely. Video seminars are hard to load and rejoin which is very difficult when it’s a multi hour course and I can’t rejoin where I was. Recently, it hasn’t been able to open and each time I’ve used it I’ve had to re-download the app. This app truly needs to work better to match the trainings I receive from PESI which are much-needed, useful and professional.
The course I’m taking through this app is fantastic but the app itself leaves much to be desired. For example, if I am using the app and a text comes in that I need to attend to, my course does not stay open and I have to go through several steps to get back to where I was. The app it’s self is simply not well laid out. They could definitely improve this as many other educational apps have done. This app needs much work. That said, it’s better than having to go to my browser.
I like the idea of having an app to access my PESI trainings. And I appreciate the content they offer. One huge drawback is the inability to change the playback speed. I often listen to my lectures a little faster to keep me engaged, or if I’m listening to something a second time. Not being able to change the playback speed will definitely influence my decision to purchase, or not purchase, more courses.
The app was really good and convenient, but now it doesn’t save your place when you pause. The video won’t enlarge to the full screen anymore and the circle load is constantly spinning. It wish I could reorganize my trainings so the one in-progress was on top. It would also help to have a completion icon once a CEU was done, and fully complete programs would move down to the bottom.
The videos are slow to load, constantly glitching, and the app resets to the beginning every time I go out of the stream and go back in. It requires me to keep the app open to try and download, which it also does painstakingly slowly, and if I let my screen go to sleep, it stops and resets the download and there is nowhere to find it, I just have to start again. This is all with GIG internet, so my connection isn’t the problem. The app is completely unusable for me.
Not sure what happened recently but app is now glitchy on both iPhone and iPad. Can’t pause, the 30 second rewind takes me back 5 minutes, the actual presentation is about 4 x2 inches on a regular sized iPad so only using about 10% of screen. If you don’t finish and come back, it will start you at the beginning of the presentation and not where you left off. My app says it’s up to date. This will be my last PESI course if the app functions like this
This has been helpful for me as I work on CEUs for my professional license. The app is very minimal however and doesn't have the full function of the website. It also won't pickup where I leave off if I stop a video and come back to it. If I find a better way to watch their content on my phone I'll delete the app happily.
I just watched Steven Atkinson PA/MD give a talk about monoclonal antibody therapy. It was a very timely and relevant talk. His slides were quite good and has a excellent style of delivery. The content covered was thoroughly discussed and it was easy to listen to him,
I like how the app is set up. My big issue with it, is that every time I pause my training (as a mom of a young child I pause a lot) it requires me to relaunch and refresh and go back 30 seconds in order to continue. It hold back my flow a lot. I hope that can be fixed and be more flowy. Thank you.
I can’t open the app. It is constantly crashing. An update was released where it was better briefly but now I am not able to use it at all again. When it was work on my, when resuming longer programs it would start at the beginning unless I rewinded 30 second. The app needs some work.
I love this app. This allows me to have an easy access to all the trainings. However it gets confusing to find programs among many expired programs. If they can fix that, this will be absolutely five star app.
I have this app on two phones, separate apple ids and both have been inoperable since the last update. I removed the app from one phone and redownloaded, I also updated the phone and the app either crashes upon opening or plays the same content over and over again if I can get it to open. I’m extremely frustrated.
App does not remember where was left and I had to start from the beginning every time I listen even in the downloaded section. Please provide a solution for this, or allow me to download the recording to the phone so I can use a different audio player supporting the memory function to play.
Crashes every two seconds and does not record my progress after a period of time
The app exits itself out once in a while and it’s the most annoying when I’m in the middle of a quiz, it also did not record my watch progress if I have no opened it in a while. It’s poorly developed and seems to have a lot of bugs.
The app would be amazing if it didn’t keep crashing when I try to open it. This would be a great resource to have on the go between clients, but the app never opens for more than three seconds.
The “download for offline viewing” feature is useless. It seems to require an internet connection to work. I downloaded a seminar for a long plane ride and it didn’t appear in the app until I landed. Just saw a big red X and a message about a lost internet connection. Lame.
Really like the app but haven’t been able to figure out how to remove downloads after viewing the content. I haven’t had any luck finding out who to contact for help.

I love Dr. Fox, I has watched some of his videos about BPD, but this course his really showed how knowledgeable he is in BPD and amazing tips and strategies!
I’m glad this app exists but: -no matter what time I stopped at in my course, it both shows me that time BUT starts the video from the beginning. Clicking the 30 second rewind button brings me to where I actually was -sometimes it doesn’t bring me to where I was; so I just have to remember because as soon as the video starts, the counter remains frozen (as well as the pause button) even if the video is showing Overall, I make it work, but it’s very finicky and pretty frustrating to navigate the app’s quirks
Unfortunately, this app falls short. It wouldn’t allow me to log in using the app on my iPad, so I deleted and reinstalled it, hoping to solve the issue. I then needed to reset my password because I had forgotten it-no such luck. It wouldn’t even allow me to do that so, now, I can’t access my account at all.
I downloaded the PESI app with high hopes, but unfortunately, it has been a major disappointment. Every time I try to open the app, it crashes immediately. I’ve tried restarting my device and reinstalling the app, but the issue persists.
I feel much more confident having an understanding and the language provide counseling on this topic . The presenter was concise , thorough , engaging and hilarious !
Just bought a certification class and after a few days, app won't open. My email appears and then app closes again. Very frustrating. I was on a roll with my classes.
Sorry to say, but this app is frequently crashing, starting videos over, and/or bugging out in other ways. I just downloaded the latest update, and the app won’t even open.
I used to access my Pesi courses via CE21 and they played decently there, but now apparently they only work on this app which crashes as soon as you open it.
App does not change to landscape mode on iPad. Needs to be able to change modes on iPad. I enjoy the courses PESI offers and the quality but app needs to be fully compatible with iPad.
