I’m using pickme since long time..It was very good app..Easy to use but sometimes it crashed..Few drivers are good in communication and driving but most of drivers are very angry people..Sometimes they do not came after accept the trip until I called him..When I called him they are asking me for the destination and when I say the destination they are asking for the cancel the trip then my time is wasted and my credit was over but I still do not have a taxi..Sometimes pickme have crazy drivers..They accepting the trip but they are too far..At second they arrived but the truth is they are too far from me but they clicked I arrived button and I got the 10min..If he doesn’t came in 10min I have to pay the cancellation fee..It was crazy but its okay I am still using both pick me and uber..Pickme is good and I hope you will advise the drivers like that..Thank you for the service..👌
I'm personally a daily PickMe user & I love the service, been using it ever since I heard of it, all of my friends and relatives also use it, but recently after the new UI update, the visuals look really clean but unfortunately it's reaaaaaaaallyyy slow, before when I use the app it immediately refreshes and shows me the available PickMe drivers in the proximity and I can then enter my drop off location and click on," Book Now" and immediately the "Confirm" button would appear. But after the new UI change the process is painfully slow, the app refreshes the map and then when I enter my drop off location and tap, "Book Now" it takes ages to get me on to the, "Confirm" button. And even after I've confirmed the ride and set everything up, the PickMe driver would call only to ask the location and then claim that they're almost 5-8km away, while on my map it shows that the driver is only a few minutes away. This makes my PickMe user experience very unpleasant. Please go back to the previous UI as it was much more efficient. Hope you would take these points into consideration and hope to see some improvements on this app in the future! :)
Very helpful to have PickMe in Sri Lanka. Can get many things delivered. Lots of restaurants and shops on the platform. The app itself is not the most user friendly. Like most Made In Sri Lanka stuff, quality and customer experience don’t seem to be top priority. To clarify, customer service/support is good and friendly, but the app’s user interface and user experience is cumbersome. Can be buggy and glitchy at times. Stuff I add to my cart disappears sometimes and have to go back and add things again. Many issues like that make it time consuming and frustrating to use, but still better than sitting in Colombo traffic and fighting crowds to go get supplies, etc. Hey PickMe: Please keep improving the app and make something Sri Lankans can be proud of, and not always have to look to foreign products or services for quality.
The app has all required options for a customer. Merchant’s number, delivery riders position to what not. However we cannot rely on the app’s delivery time as it’s not accurate. I’m not talking about the estimated arrival time but the latest arrival time. I can understand estimated arrival time can change for many reasons but how can the latest arrival time change? How are we to order to something expecting it to arrive before a specific time? The app doesn’t have any option for this nor any solution. Fix this and will definitely rate a 5 star.
Taxi meter is only as honest as your drivers route!
I used this app and thought it was great. For short stints or if you know where you are going it would be fine. The prices greatly undercut my best bartering with tuktuk drivers. My last and final trip with Pickme gave me insight as to why this app is not worth using and why I will just use Uber in the future. It makes you vulnerable to preying drivers- our driver took us on a wild goose chase into the middle of no where. My wife was terrified and I was unnerved. The driver refused to communicate with us beyond a cheeky grin when I had him pull over. We would have got out but we were literally in the jungle at that point. All said and done a 45 minute right to a hotel near the airport took two hours and cost double the price. We called Pickme and they said to pay him and file a claim. So we did. Now they will only refund us in Pickme credits which will expire and we have left the country. Decent concept with zero accountability. For barely more money just use Uber and enjoy a seatbelt.
Needs Improvement for Peak Hour Reliability and Payment Options
I have been using the PickMe app for over 3 years now, and while it has served me well as a Sri Lankan alternative to Uber, there are certain aspects that require improvement. Firstly, the app's reliability during peak hours is a significant concern. It becomes unavailable and unable to make bookings exactly when it is needed the most. This is a major inconvenience, and I hope that the developers can address this issue to ensure a consistent and reliable service. Additionally, although less frequent than with Uber, many PickMe drivers still ask "cash or card?" when it comes to payment. This practice should not be allowed on the platform, as it defeats the purpose of having an integrated payment system within the app. Strict measures should be implemented to ensure that drivers adhere to the app's payment policies and provide a seamless experience for users. Despite these issues, I appreciate the service provided by PickMe and its local touch. I hope that the developers will take this feedback into account and work towards improving the overall user experience.
Good prices and app works on older phones pretty well too. I have 2 issues 1. When we accidentally leave something in a vehicle like an umbrella or a bag it is rarely the case that we have a photo of it to submit when reporting through the app. This must have inconvenienced so many users me included. 2. When booking a trip for multiple stops the location is wrong. It seems like the location that gets selected is not the center of the screen but a point on the far top-left of the screen.
Excellent app and service. Used it a ton getting around Colombo area and found it to be a great value every time. This app has vans and other options like tuk tuks that Uber doesn’t have. I travelled with six so mostly needed vans but also did a few cars and tuk tuks. Pro tip, tuk tuks are the fastest getting around this crazy busy traffic and are super cheap using the app. Also fun to ride in! :) Highly recommend using this app if you’re looking to get around Sri Lanka.
5 stars because it's great app and great service which they provide, been using it for few days and I'm truly amazed at the service they provide. Appreciate it and expecting more on you guys. Small bug to your attention: when I open app while playing music, it pauses for some reason. I don't mind it at all but if you guys have time, try to look into it. Good luck guys!!! :) :)
I’ve been using PickMe for almost one year + now and I should say the app is having a lot of good services including taxi and food service. Also really like the market place service and flash parcels delivery service. Those two were really helpful during this COVID19 situations.
The challenge is to communicate with the drivers..most of them doesn't understand "English"..also, I got automatically logged out from the app & couldn't log back in..it says password is incorrect..when I click the "forgot password" link & provide the email address I've given, it prompts that the email was not registered..when I try to register as a new member, it says my phone number is already registered..! There was no way I can login to the app..!!
Sometimes good. But drivers not taking their responsibilities. They are giving miscall if they can’t find the place we have to call them. They can’t follow the location through the map. Most importantly, drivers not giving the correct balance for the ride. It’s customers responsibility to give them a tip if they like. But taking customers money is a mistake. Sometimes they talk very unprofessionally.
First of all, app is totally unreliable. Secondly, drivers keep calling and asking the rider to cancel. The reason they give us is they're too far from the pickup location. Aren't they informed about the distance (not the exact location) at least or give them the ability to cancel within a given time period? Or implement some other mechanism to avoid such scenarios. I understand pickme is new to Galle, but this has been the experience so far.
Four drivers three stole money think as the first was new he doesn't know the rules yet. 1st was good very happy. 2nd dropped me and never stopped the charges so was charged three times the rate. 3rd never showed but still charged. 4th didn't know where he was going even with gps. I now just use it to get another driver for same price worthless drive share maybe better to do uber its only twice the cost
I was surprised that a driver was able to overcharge me by not registering my drop off. A 6 min 2 km ride was charged as a 45 min 10 km ride. My charge was 3x the estimate. I immediately contacted support but they will not correct it. It’s been over a week and they just keep closing my case without reason. Use with caution, this is not grab, Uber, etc.
I have been using pick me since it started and I added my card after the card payment option introduced. Last few payments (2 or 3) couldn’t processed. It may be a bank error or a error of their system. Today I got a message saying my account is permanently blocked.
Keep trying to login after the new update and I get the session is expired bug, how did the developers push this update out without Q&A catching this. Please fix, otherwise the app is great.
This is a scam. Do not give them your credit card. I had trips that were 300 and they charged 1200 to my card. When I complained they gave me about 900 useless “points” that none of their drivers accept.
Tried it for the first time. All drivers ignore your requests and the worst first day I installed literally spent one hour getting rejected to travel from rajagiriya. Would give 0 stars if possible. Do a favor and get Uber. Tons better service
Honestly app is very professionally and easy to use but problem is drivers sometimes they ask extra money bec that can’t cover the oil coat (it a lie) and some won’t like to come to some particular places.overrall pickme company giving good services to us.
When I log in to PickMe, it instantly looks for a ride without me choosing location or type of car. I called PickMe. They tell me to delete and reinstall. Same thing, still does not work!
Never any tuk drivers when i searched. Why should they use this service and get only paid fair rates when they're already comment ripping off tourists?
After downloading the app, I tried to make a new account so I could login. After entering the verification code sent by SMS, it asks you to enter info for a profile- such as name and email address. However, the keyboard would not pop up so I couldn't enter any info in the profile and it wouldn't let me proceed. Therefore I have been unable to log into the app to try it out- even after multiple attempts.
