I got my razer barracuda headset today and downloaded the app after reading the manual. At first a lot of the negative views dissuaded me from even trying to use the app, but after a bit of trial and error I think I realized where a lot of these people went wrong. To be as clear as possible, the headset will not connect to the Razer audio app if the headset is already connected to the PlayStation/PC/Xbox or if the headset is already connected to your phone’s Bluetooth. All other things must be disconnected from the headphones before the app can pick up the Bluetooth signal from the headset. It took a bit of trial and error but everything is working smoothly and I have no complaints. Very happy with my new headset and can’t wait to get gaming!

This app is useless. Razer Kaira Pros. Will not connect no matter how many times I try. Forgot it from my Xbox and iPhone and try connected it to the iPhone only then tried the app. A dozen times. App said it could not be found. Forgot from iPhone and tried doing it solely through the app and got the same results. Tried connecting with the BT in pairing while laying on the iPhone, app couldn’t find anything. I moved them 6 feet apart with same results. 15 feet apart for good measure, same results. Not sure what the deal is but this app doesn’t like my Razer Kaira Pros. Also did the manual add through the app, select your device, with no devices found. Thought maybe that would be easier for the app to find but no positive outcome. Not a solid app. Update after dev reply: I’m simply trying to just connect it to my iPhone alone. Not the Xbox. Why say that this works when it does not work with the iPhone? FYI: I totally gave up on the iPhone connection with this app. The app on the Xbox DOES work well. Thank you for sharing that an iPhone app doesn’t work with an Xbox. So thank you so so much for sharing that.
I love having this app to be able to tell The charge of my Barracuda X. To the people that say there’s a connectivity issue I haven’t had any problems. Your headset won’t connect if it’s connected to your pc by any cords or the dongle. And make sure you have Bluetooth enabled on the headset and your phone. You Triple press on the power button on the headphones to switch modes between Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz which is type-C wireless dongle. That’s how it works on my headset and I think all the other Razer product headsets do that. Read your instructions that came with the headset and pay attention to what mode it is on. Don’t write a bad review because you don’t read instructions. Have a good day.
I do not want to know why I am here the razer Hammerheads TWP are the worst anti apple product ever. Not only can I not get a replacement headphone for the one I lost. The remaining one is now acting up by not charging properly at all literally have tried charging it for the past 4 hours and it keeps telling me low battery like it’s my problem it’s not charging in the case. I just wanna listen to music man and I’m extremely disappointed with the price tag I had to pay for worse customer support and more hassle to use the product I purchased. The next app update and hammerhead line better be good because I probably won’t experience it and just get Bose brand since their app works amazing and their sound quality is almost unmatched. Do not get hammerheads get anything else which in turn makes this app completely useless considering if you lost a headphone it is useless anyways.
I bought these headphones to play on my PS5, but in also use them on my iPhone 14 via Bluetooth. In absolutely love the headset, and I only just started using this app, but I think it’s pretty dope. I it’s just like using all the buttons and wheels on my headphones, but I can visually see it on my phone. The app has been immediately responsive to my headphones, which is super cool when using the custom equalizer. A lot of these other reviews are kinda wacky… If you have a new and compatible headset and phone, then I’m sure this app will work beautifully for you as well.
I’ve had them for about two weeks and here are my observations. Good: they connect to the Xbox instantly. The mic is adequate. Some people say it’s muffled or not as clear as the headset that plugs into the controller when I’ve tried to compare with people. Bad: this app is pretty poor in that it’s connection and recognition of the headphones is 95% fail. The worst part of this is you just can’t see what the battery life is because of the connection. Ugly: battery life is under 3 hours. I time it every time I play. Even turning off the chroma LED lights I’ve never got more than 2.5 hours. Which is sad. I have no idea how fast they charge because I cannot connect or stay connected to the app long enough to see it
I bought a Leviathan V2 yesterday, got it connected to my desktop updated firmware no problem. (Desktop app doesn’t allow for assisting EQ etc only lights). Need the app for that. After multiple attempts and reaching out to support the app won’t recognize the sound bar at all. My phone within Bluetooth settings will recognize it as well as my laptop and iPad. However the app says there is no device found. Support figured it was a defective device. I exchanged for a new one today. Got the same problem. Support says it must be my devices I’m trying to connect the speaker to…. But sure must be my devices that can see the speaker within Bluetooth and connect to every other Bluetooth device in existence. Surely it’s not this app.
I honestly don’t understand the bad reviews and honestly a lot of the time it just seems like people are hating on the fact that the headphones they have can do things the app can but wouldn’t that be a good thing then? I mean it’s fairly obvious the app was designed for the headsets and earphones that didn’t have that capability that were also meant to be used for the phone otherwise why make a desktop app? The app has worked perfectly me so far luv u razer ❤️
I’ve tried to connect the Kairo Pro to both the phone and Xbox app, and it’s simply will not recognize the headset on either version of the app at all. $170 headset simply doesn’t work as advertised. Tried turning the headset off and back on. Tried turning my phone off and back on. Tried disconnecting it from the Xbox it had been paired to. Tried making my iPhone 12 forget the device and re-pair it via Bluetooth. I tried everything, and this app will NOT recognize my brand new, just out of the box this afternoon headset. Fed up with garbage quality from Razer. Will be returning this and buying something else from another company whose products at least have the basic functionality that’s advertised.
I’ve been having issues with my headphones Razor Opus for several month that I relied on Audio Jack. But when I want to connect to a phone or iPad it refuses to be on Pair Mode because Razor with their smooth brain decided it’s a brilliant idea to make the “pair button” be the power button no matter how long I hold it, it just refuses to be on pair mode even though this could be easily prevented if they just added a pair button or at-least a reset button So I decided to install this app to see if it works, and while it did set my Razor Opus into pair mode, installed the latest firmware. It refuses to output sound despite the bluetooth option saying it’s connected on my iPad.
I love my glasses they get me through a lot throughout the day. The sound quality is Magnifique the frames fit well the touch button controls are a hidden mess sometimes, but not a dealbreaker. The only negative thing I could really say about these glasses is that if you’re not using them, they tend to disconnect and reconnect and disconnect and reconnect, but other than that you can’t beat these good sound quality glasses for that price.
I was really excited to get a new pair of Razer Kaira Pro headphones since it had an app to adjust lighting and sound. I couldn’t get the headphones to connect to this or the RGB app. It had the latest firmware, I restarted my phone, headphones and tried to connect and it didn’t work once. There is a reason why this has such bad reviews because it doesn’t work. I see how diligent the company is to apologize for the bad reviews but they should spend that manpower to fix the apps to make a better experience for those that buy their products. My review is of the app and not the headphones. The headphones did connect to my Xbox as well paired with my cell phone via Bluetooth but why have an app if it doesn’t work?
Update: after recent update, the headphones were added as supported and able to connect. Still only 4 stars as I feel the app should have been updated ahead of hardware release, since you are unable to make any configuration changes without it. Original: Purchased Razer Hammerhead Hyperspeed for Xbox, manual stated to download the app to control function, however, app does not list the headphones as supported, so it’s unable to locate them, thus can’t make any changes to settings…Ridiculous
After reading these reviews before I purchased my new headphone, I got anxious that the app would make it really difficult to use them on my phone. But it’s not that bad! You do have to connect them to the app first then I connected it to the Bluetooth on my phone and I haven’t had any issues. I think the app is laid out in a strange way but it’s not that big of a deal, I do not see myself using the app very often other than when I’m using my headphones with my phone so it’s okay.
Using this with my Razer Kraken BT Hello Kitty w/ Chroma. Paired with my headphones no problem. Then had no problem at all pairing to my iPhone playing music. Had downloaded the Chroma-only app first then realized I could use this one to also enhance the sound. The EQ bass enhancer does help make up for the lack of natural bass these headphones have compared to another brand of headphones I have. Love being able to play with the colors and control the sound in the same app.
I have the Razer Nari Essentials for PlayStation and the the Razer Kairo for Xbox. Both work great and sound better, so I have no issues there. The Kairo use presets that you create yourself. The app works on Xbox and supposedly works on the phone but somehow I cannot connect to my phone via the app or my phone's bluetooth. I have it set up for gaming so that's great but I do game on my phone too and, I would like to have that immersion there as well. Maybe only the Razer Kairo Pro have that option. But still, it was presented to be able to do so. So I have to say it's been a frustrating experience with this app though.
I saw the reviews and ignored them, my own experience will tell me if I like the app or not. It took a few seconds to connect and download the newest update. Connecting all the right colors and sound was easy enough for my 7 year old to do. The audio is clear and she doesn’t have to turn it up or down. Works great!
Everything on the app works fine for me. The only issue I’m having is that the battery life isn’t accurate at all. I just got the hammerhead wireless earbuds and it will tell me that they are at 100 percent but then after less than an hour will say low battery. Also as I was put them in to charge it said 10 percent and one they were in it immediately changed to 30 percent. But other than the battery life issue the app works great.
My hammerhead Xbox edition earphones are great but when I first got the app was perfectly well then all of the sudden it had problems to connect I tried to connect it by using Bluetooth I try by disconnecting the earphones if that was that’s the problem but nope tried to reset my phone and or deleting the app and redownloading and try to reconnect the earphones to change settings on earphones for base won’t connect at all also would give this app five stars but at had a Bluetooth connection errors please fix your app I’ll give your a five stars
Downloaded this thinking I could make adjustments to my kaira pros without leaving my game. This was not the case. Xbox version is not supported through this app but the PlayStation version is. Sounds weird. If I connect to my phone with Bluetooth, the app should support it. Pretty sure that’s how the PS version works. The Xbox app also needs quite a bit of work to smooth out the rough edges and glitchiness of the app itself. We also should be able to store multiple custom profiles on the headset instead of just one and there should be a number of beeps to tell us what profile we are on.
The app works well with my razer hammerhead true wireless. I like that i can adjust my EQ settings to my own liking I’ve only ran into issues when i did not update the software within the app although once that’s taken care of they’re back to normal. Overall I’ve had a positive experience with the app, thanks!
Crazy I buy the absolute most premium headset offered and it has LESS support than the lower tiers. Blackshark isnt even in the list of supported devices despite being more premium than most (if not all) of them. UsingIm using the headset over BT without any app support, and its great, but it would have been great to fine tune the audio through the app using an EQ (especially since apple doesnt give too many options). Happy with the headset but this makes me question the company's decisions and priorities... when you spend more, you're supposed to get more
These really work well. However, the charger cable was not included in the sealed package and I had to order and pay for a cable. I called Razer tech support and was told on a recording that no one was available to help and I would have to go online, which was no help at all, then I was hung up on.
This app says on the App Store page that it supports the Razer Kaira Pro. Ok great I have a Razer Kaira Pro, this should let me configure it! So I download it, hold down the Bluetooth button until the blue light is blinking and hit the find button… except nothing. I figured that was because it was already connected to my phone so went over to Bluetooth settings and told it to forget my Razer Kaira Pro and tried again in the app. Nothing. I go to Bluetooth devices and my Razer Kaira Pro is sitting there under “other devices”. Well that’s weird, let’s look at help in the app. It goes to a webpage with supported devices and see: “ Razer Kaira Pro for PS5 Razer Kaira Pro HyperSpeed (PS5)” wait, what? The app listing clearly just says “Razer Kaira Pro”. I guess I have a “Razer Kaira Pro for Xbox” which I guess is *not* a “Razer Kaira Pro”? So I uninstalled the app because I guess it’s useless to me?
So there is an EQ function but you can only select between music and speech? Just.. let us have an EQ! What a tease, I run music through my DAW and I can make these sound amazing with just a little EQ (4 band parametric) it’s not so complicated!! Have some faith that your users have brains too. It feels like the function is only there as a placeholder so support can deflect the question when someone asks if there is an EQ in the app. A cheap corporate excuse to check a box for advertising. 🥲 Pretty sure I even saw promo photos with a PEQ
I recently got the Opus X headphones. Overall, these are some pretty good headphones. However, the only thing the app can do that isn’t built into the headphones is change the equalizer, and even then, they only provide presets. One thing I hoped to change were the default settings of the headphones. Normally, I would want to use the gaming mode of the headphones, but because the default of the headphones is normal mode, I have to change it every time I turn them on. Thus, I hope a feature is added to the app where the default settings can be changed. Another cool feature would be to customize the button actions. Maybe I could make the volume up also be held to activate voice command, etc. TL;DR: The more options the better, and this app lacks those options.
it can take a bunch of tries to get headset connected to the app. on top of that my kaira pro ps5s have no problem connecting to my phones bluetooth but why on earth if it’s connected to the phones bluetooth already do i have to set the headset to pairing each time i go into the app just to check battery level?? also i shouldn’t need 2 apps (this and razer chroma) that need to be separately paired to each time to change the rgb in chroma or settings in razer audio. not that i’m always changing the rgb or settings but is it that hard to make one app for both that registers the headset when already paired to the phone and doesn’t need to be paired to the app or at least remembers the headset once paired to in app once?
Like the title states, it refuses to read or even acknowledge my razer oickachu hammerheads at all. It did so with the previous app they had but not whatsoever on this one. And from other reviews it fails to read others as well. I don’t know what to do, I cannot do anything else with them and they don’t even have a computer app to proceed with updates either, it can only be done with mobile. I even have them registered with the racer website and they are authentic as well.
This headset is so good feels like I’m their and cuts off everything around me and also love the fact it had control on the app for rgb and the battery life and of course loving it in general 😅❤️
It has become a better app, but it still has places to go
I wish I could control the volume with my Bluetooth hammerhead earbuds. Also, the taps are very insensitive which is pretty inconvenient. I have to hold down the button for a bit to get each tap to trigger whereas AirPods need the lightest and shortest tap to trigger the tap. The fact that I can’t control the volume with the earbuds is pretty inconvenient.
Why is there no support for the Kaira pro for the Xbox I got the nice master chief edition but went to connect it to the app to edit the lights and audio but even if it is supported I couldn’t even get it to detect for the life of me. even checked on my computer to see if the software was up to date it said it was so idk add support or fix the problem then I could at least use the app considering it’s part of the reason I even bought them for the equalizer and light customization.
Hi, because the Bluetooth device won’t run in the app and play music at the same time, adjusting the EQ isn’t intuitive, if you’re not a master musician you don’t know what the different values mean, and you can’t hear anything so you can’t adjust it. And since it connects via BT, you can’t also connect it to the computer to play music that way. Really frustrating. Can you just add a “lower the Bass, raise the Treble… stuff normal people would be familiar with? Like “simple EQ” and “advanced EQ”? Also the advertised “adjust button actions” isn’t available in the app. There’s also no “update firmware” area, unless I have the latest update? But there’s nowhere that says that either. This feedback is for improvement not to just complain, thanks for working on this.
I got the pikachu razer earbuds and it has been working with my phone and computer fine. but I’m not able to adjust the volume through them, and the volume seems a little soft. So I saw online that I can adjust the settings through the app which I have set my earbuds many times on pairing mode and it still won’t connect to the app. Yet it connects directly to my phone/computer with no issues. There’s has to be a different way 😤
I’ve been trying to connect my Blackshark to the app for an hour now and it just won’t do it. I am wondering if it is only for the Playstation version and not Xbox (I am on Xbox) because it doesn’t specify which version to connect to. Hopefully theres a way and someone knows how to connect it. I did also read comments on having it completely disconnected for it to work but it still doesn’t change anything for me.
I liked the Razer Anzu and before the latest update. I’m using my iPhone (latest) and when glasses set to highest volume it would play about 30% to bearly audible. If I lower the volume to like 50-60 % it would play little louder, correctly. Developers PLEASE fix and test the updates. Lol Note: I tried repairing and everything and volume is extremely non audible.
App does not recognize my Kaira Pro head set when paired with my phone. Also tried unpairing it from my phone, placed the head set in pair mode while using the app, and still fails to be recognized. The Xbox app is just as horrible. Long time to connect and can’t make changes to custom audio equalizer. Razer needs a QA team that does their job and not allow this mess to be a reflection of their reputation. Very disappointed and will not recommend.
Obsessed. . The app itself enhances your music , it makes it so much better than the headphones already are . The headphones are great ! Would definitely recommend . Noise cancellation , love them both .!
Not connecting to the app after the leviathan v2 was updated.
Before it was updated the app connected to the soundbar perfectly and now after the software update on the sound bar, the app doesn’t/ find my sound bar anymore. I’ve tried several times and on my other phone doesn’t want to connect either. What can I do?
So I was havign the same issue as a lot of ppl couldn’t get the app to connect to my headset so I can change the rq, it was because the dongle was in my ps5, MAKE SURE DONGLE ISNT CONNECTED TO ANYTHING, the app should then connect you to the razer Kiara pro no problem, I hope this helps
Razer Kaira Xbox Series X version headset will not connect to audio app.
I’ve been trying to connect my Razor Kaira Xbox Series X edition headset to my iphone via the audio app, however the app will not pick it up. I had initially bought this for my new xbox but i have a Series S instead of a series X, so I figured why not use this headset for my phone. But, the headset isn’t being picked up and won’t connect.
Worse engineering of any computer brand I’ve ever experienced besides maybe a 1990’s Gateway laptop. Their products look flashy but are made of cheap plastic. I bought the Anzu Smart Glasses to filter out blue light because of my epilepsy. They disconnect every 5 minutes, flashing blue lights right beside both my eyes where it is not filtered, and to make it worse it’s combined with loud audio saying, “disconnected”. This is how you get sued. Stay away.
I adore my Razer BT kitties! But the app cuts off the last two audio options, please update it so I can get the enchanted quality or make the buttons smaller so they fit. Other than that I’ve had 0 issue and I’m honestly just found my forever brand and headsets.
Downloaded this app to use with my Blackshark V2 Pros. No matter what I did (deleted blacksharks from iPhone bt, unplugged the dongle, tried through the app and the product list) it just simply could not find my headset. Upon looking through the reviews, I see this is a common issue not only with the blacksharks but also the barracudas and krakens. Don’t waste the time on this app. If only synapse was on iPhone.
The app is ONLY for the onboard control of the glasses. To connect audio you do the same as you would any other Bluetooth device in the settings app. The razer app is just to see battery level, toggle game mode or remap gestures.
I have a pair of Razer Kaira Pros that i want to change the RGB on with this app and it won’t connect. The headphones have no problem connecting to Apple Bluetooth or my Xbox Series X, but they just don’t connect to this app. I tried rebooting my phone and turning on and off the headset about five times, to absolutely no avail. I would give this app 0/5 stars if I could, huge waste of time. Fix this please.
The glasses are great, but it would be nice to get other features like the color, the output of the color like Razer, and other devices with built-in LED lights on the way.
Not to bad could have more adjustments and options also would be nice if the ability to be paired to my phone and console would work correct instead of it disconnecting mid game and me having to fully turn them off and back on
Better than Facebook glasses, sounder than bose...
When using this app a duplicated Razer Sound is added to Bluetooth list, performed firmware update during the process. Pay QA in a early adopter market
Just got my hammerheads and this app works perfectly. I like all the different options like turning on gaming mode more easily and the different equalizer settings.
