I’ve been a daily reader of RCP since it’s infancy and have come to depend on it being the aggregator of political news for me since. It faithfully gathers wide and disparate opinions on all matters of political interest and serves them up on a platter for easy perusal. No entity does it better. RCP wins the competition like Secretariat won the Triple Crown — like no one else was in the race.
The video pop ups are annoying me. I’m reading an article and suddenly the screen goes black and a video pops up. Don’t want to watch the video. Just want to continue reading so I close the video. Then it pops up again a few moments later. I close it again. Pops up again. Close it again…and again…and again. Ad infinitum. I’d much rather use the RCP website, but now have constantly sign in since Apple started the private browsing. So I’m stuck with the app. Is there a way to stop the videos from popping up? If I want to watch a video I’ll click on it.
It can be hard to find trustworthy balanced news sources in today’s media environment. RealClearPolitics lives up to its name and delivers. I appreciate that both sides of controversial or breaking news and events are represented. Excellent coverage, delivered by a competent team of professionals. Thank you!
First day of using the app. Pretty stoked about the “14 day free trial”, which isn’t a 14 day free trial. It is just a “free version” of the app with annoying pop-up “ads” for a full subscription on nearly every screen change. If you’re going to do a free trial, maybe give the user an experience that would be had with a paid subscription, which is the point of a free trial. Content is great by the way, but I’m not trying the app for the content. I’m trying it for convenience, and it is severely lacking in that.
I enjoy reading articles from both sides. The one problem I have with your site is that when I open the app it doesn’t acknowledge my subscription and I have to do some maneuvering to get access to the polls.
There is a lot of info here that is very useful. A lot of good columns are listed. Unfortunately the editors sometimes succumb to their own bias by running right wing propaganda instead of rational conservative thought. They should wake up and not support anti-democratic drivel that is a feature of some on the right.
Long time subscriber to the online site. It is my go site to get timely updates on both side of the debate. Easy to navigate and never a problem. Visit several times a day. This app is an abject disaster. Glitches abound. Coverage is limited. Links to the rest of the RealClear suite is missing. I’d rather do without the handy phone version, than settle for this amateurish offering.
Used this app for about 2 minutes before getting sick of the pop-ups. Every time you change to a different page, you get a pop-up trying to get you to purchase something. Very, very annoying and would otherwise be a good app.
While I really like RCP and have used their website for years, it’s frustrating that you need a subscription ti the app to access the same polling data you can access for free via the standard online website.
They can’t even be bothered to fix the typo saying “Lastest News” instead of “Latest” news after WEEKS (perhaps longer). It’s obvious there was absolutely zero quality control on this. If I led marketing there I’d fire somebody. Embarrassing.
I wanted to try it out. But the constant pop ups made it frustrating. I could read for one minute without something else getting in my way. Sorry guys, I will not be subscribing.
I purchased an annual subscription in November 2022. Worked fine until February 21, 2023. Content no longer being refreshed. Instead getting a message that the free trial period expired. Three requests for help or refund ($34.99) all unanswered. Think hard before purchasing a subscription.
I downloaded your app on my iPad (an Apple product) via Apple’s App store. Very soon after I opened the app for the first time, I removed a message that browser is not supported. The browser I use is Safari, Apple’s browser. This browser message is garbage. If Safari is not going to be supported, then RCP should not be in Apple’s app store. 👎👎 This is very curious because a pop-up from X.com says Safari is supported.if X.com is not you, then that raises the issue of whether this app is infected.
