RightNow Media

I've been using this app for a couple of years, this year it has become unstable, you can't view an entire video without it crashing. If your not watching the minutes you have a hard time finding where it stopped, even then it may take several tries before you can get it to stay open long enough to get back to the place it crashed. It's very frustrating in that the material is very good and information we all need at sometime in our lives. Please fix the bugs that are in this app, then more epode will benefit from these training videos.

Chromecast was fixed and combined with AirPlay option making it user friendly and meeting my needs. When I first started using RightNow, I was able to cast to any Chromecast devices in my home including my main TV which has it built in. There have been two updates since I reported the issue with an update which resulted in Cast not working at all. The Cast button is displayed by cannot see any devices. Although I can use my AppleTV, it makes more it complex to share other things I use for display. I know it is an easy fix but am bewildered at how you can implement two updates without a fix - bewildered at not catching the error before it happened. As others have stated, I’ve had some crashes with AppleTV as well - problems only occur with this App.

Buyer beware!! As soon as I download and joined an app called “ChurchCenter” and joined my church, which is a really good app by the way, this app called “ right now media “started spamming my email sending me emails sayin that because of my church affiliation I have all these free Christian videos and free membership of this supposed Christian materials to help me grow. Come to find out it’s just a email scammer that scraped my email from a third-party and sent me junk that is not associated with my church in any way shape or form and they made me go through a lot of installation hoops and giving away personal information thinking I was going to actually be a part of this great teaching tool, all proven to be fake and is no way to actually login as an actual number of my church unless I bought something! They made me feel and believe that because I was a member of my church that I could get benefits from this app which turned out to be a lie and a scam. Deleting this crap right away!

This could be such a great app. I’ve known of RIghtNow media for several years now and love what they do. I especially love some of the kids materials they have. However, i can’t remember the last time I tried playing something for the kids and the app didn’t pause every 30 seconds to a minute using airplay. This has been the case with this app for so long. When I begin playing a video, if I go to another app it will immediately pause. If I use airplay so the kids can watch on the TV and my phones screen turns off, it will pause or stop completely. Whenever it pauses it’s almost impossible to simply press play and have it play again. Most of the time I need to restart the app or choose another video and then get back into the video I was originally watching. Looks like I’m not the only one having these issues.

I have this app on three different platforms/devices. On my Roku it works ok, but is a bit laggy and hard to manuver, but I manage ok. My frustration is coming from the Apple products, my phone and iPad. For some reason it keeps crashing when I try to open something. It's not everything, just what I happen to want to watch or do research on. Now after the latest update it signed me out of the app. I tried to sign back in and it refuses to let me put my email info in, it only lets me put the password. I'm not sure how to fix it or why this happening, but now I can't even get into the app. If anyone knows how to get this fixed, I'd love some help. Apart from that, I love the studies and such, but it's no good if I can't get in.

Everything had been working wonderfully until this past week, after we upgraded to the latest version 2.5.1 when my husband and I tried chrome casting one of the video studies we had been working on...I tried to cast, it connected, tried to load and then crashed...happened every time I tried. Then i asked my husband to do the same on his app, which he was still operating on the previous version...it worked. However, his app then updated to the newest version, and ever since that point it no longer works on his ipad. It crashes just like mine did. I’m a bit bummed because this was a wonderful app and I would have for sure given it a 5 star rating...was wondering if the developer has any solutions for our problem?

My app stays up to date, yet when I cast the app shows the program on tv and immediately skips to the last three seconds... then turns off AND disconnects from casting. Air play doesn’t work either. It plays whatever has been selected for approximately 90 seconds then ends on a freeze frame like its cycling. Giving it five minutes to “refresh” doesn’t change anything. Restarting the app or my phone... doesn’t change anything. I LOVE RIGHT NOW MEDIA! So disappointing the app glitches so badly now.

I can never get the app to login on my iPhone and it is super frustrating. The content is amazing and I want my kids to use it but logging in on a portable device is pretty much a nonstarter. 1) the app needs to leave the app ecosystem and essentially go into a browser to login. This prevents things like facial recognition or automatically logging in. Additionally when the browser loads within the app, it never produces the login fields. It’s just blank which means I cannot login. 2) even when I am managed to be logged in (say on my Roku device OR when it just randomly wants to work on my portable device) it will just log me out whenever it feels good and ready. So instead of staying logged in versus having to type in a password every time, it seems like they want you to manually log in every week or so. My bank doesn’t even do that. Why should a streaming movie service? 3) it almost needs a kids standalone app or at least have easier navigation for kids to get to the kids section.

I’ve not been a RightNow Media subscriber very long so when I started experiencing app issues I thought it could be my internet connection; but other apps worked just fine. I decided to read some reviews and found others where experiencing the same problems I was having... freezing up when trying to scroll through media, videos playing the sound but the picture freezing up, casting to chrome cast and then all of a sudden it stops and then not able to cast, etc. It’s been very frustrating. I love love love all the content! But I want to be able to use it! It concerns me that if nothing changes will it be reliable enough to use when we do a group study in our small groups at church? Our church is also getting ready to launch this for our families. I would really like all these bugs worked out before we do. Again, I love all the content and thank you for making it available. Just need to be able to get to it!😊

This app has some of the best if not the best content I’ve been exposed to. But it being restricted to only certain church community subscriptions seems hypocritical of the content itself. I would love to see it accessible to anyone who wants to hear and learn about Gods word. Not just for the ones in select church communities. As a home group/bible study leader, this serves as a great tool. But I don’t believe someone needs to switch churches or talk their church into “purchasing” Gods teachings to be granted access to God’s word taught by wonderful teachers. I highly applaud the effort in putting this together, but I pray it becomes more open to the individual user.

I was looking forward to using this app but the background only, no text blank pop-up after selecting sign-in renders the app unusable. Everything is up to date; My iPhone is running iOS 16.2; I uninstalled and reinstalled the RightNow Media app. I also tried to change the font settings, requested desktop view, and cleared cache and cookies on safari. The problem seems to be safari as with the DuckDuckGo app I can get logged-in (but does not pair with the app) but when I tried to open under safari app alone the same blank screen appeared with only background texture and no text. Nothing seems to work. Hopefully future updates fix this problem.

This app started off working great but for the past month it won't let me get past the first page ("sign into RightNow" or something like that). When I click on it, it will try to go to the page to let me sign in but won't completely open and then about half a second later it'll switch back to the first page. If I just use the website instead of the app everything is fine. I tried updating to the newest version of the app, no improvement. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it, no improvement. My other apps work fine and I've got plenty of space so I'm not sure what's going on to cause this problem.

I love the app but ever since the update to connect with other devices it has stopped working for me. At first it used to connect through Chromcast but after some time it now doesn’t connect at all. The “RightNow Media” screen will pop up on my TV but when I select a video to cast to my TV, it only plays on my phone and disconnects from my TV. It’s been doing this now for some weeks. Pleaseeeee fix this! I love using the app but it’s frustrating when it keeps crashing on us.

We’ve had RightNow for a couple years now. Our family absolutely loves the content-individual bible studies for every age group, or group studies that can be used for family devotions, homeschooling resources, and preschool songs and bible stories, etc. Our account works great on our internet TV. However, when I downloaded the app to my iPad so I could do personal devotions, it suddenly locked me out. I’ve reset passwords, etc, but it only locks me out of our account on the app, never through the internet site? Not sure what is going on, but for months customer service hasn’t really been much help. I’d love to update my rating as soon as they update their app. Great content—I’m just disappointed I can’t access it.

I love this app. It’s really improved. Well, I haven’t used this app in a while, but, I remember when I was watching something this dog show and me and my mom were sooo frustrated. It froze. Totally. Frozen. On certain shows, episodes, it freezes and we leave. I stopped watching when we found Ryan Defrates. It’s a great show. Your children would love it. It’s funny. But I would agree with loving this show. You’d agree as well. So get this app. Please. Thanks for taking your time to read this. 😉☺️❤️♥️🐶

Have had this app for several years and the content is great. Biggest issue is like many others where there are so many glitches that you lose focus or quit. If you have to go back 15 seconds to rehear something it will glitch in and out for over 30 seconds or longer. Normally at which I exit the app but when I come back to the app it is in the same place still glitching. This used to be one of my favorites but over time it has really become a pain to watch the videos.

We got the app specifically to lead a group bible study that requires watching the videos in order to have the group discussions, but the app has failed 4/4 times so far. It will stop playing the videos at a random point and refuse to continue playing (even if you wait a while for it to possibly buffer.) I have an iPhone XS and a 2020 TV - neither of which give trouble playing other content - so the IT errors shouldn’t be occurring. Unfortunately, it’s too big of a distraction when trying to lead a group & the negative IT reviews from 2016 seem to still apply, so I likely won’t give their content another chance. Huge bummer!

I have been using RightNow for several years and love the content. I use Chromecast both at church and at home and never had a problem until the last few months. My setup at home works fine with every other app such as Netflix, Prime Video, etc. when I try to play a video from RightNow, it connects but then disconnects. I am using an IPad or IPhone 10r with version 12 and 13 software. I have an older IPad with version 9 and it will play videos but there is a lot of buffering during playback. Please fix your compatibility with Chromecast. Thank you.

The content is fantastic! So many choices and great new videos released regularly. Problem: When you pause a video, it starts the video all over most times. Not every time, but most. It does not show videos, consistently, that you've watched recently so you can go back and keep watching the series. You have to remember the last one you saw and look them up.

(April 2018 - v 2.2.49 - used mostly on an iPad Pro, OS is up to date, plenty of free space) Sorry to be harsh but the instability of this app has gotten ridiculous. It randomly crashes when searching, accessing queue, a screen rotation change, or just randomly mid-stream. If it crashes, finding your place again is incredibly irritating since there's no bookmarking upon crashing. Seriously, this content is impressive but the platform is downright painful. I was tempted to give more stars for the sake of the content but I just can't. It's bad and someone needs to understand it's bad. Looking forward to seeing it fixed.

I literally wish i could download this app onto everyones phone that I know… not only is this the best resource I’ve ever owned, but it’s unlimited to SO MANY wonderful videos. Whether its a devotional or bible study, this app is endless. Not to sound corny, but it changed my life for the better. Its opened up tons of learning opportunities for me and led me to follow so many new inspirational people. Im grateful for it and hope everyone downloads it !

Just wanted to let people who are having trouble with the app stopping while watching it on apple tv. I had an issue with another app that was stopping after 15mins. It was the sleeptimer! For some reason it only affected a couple of my apps, not all of them. How I fixed it: settings > general > scroll down to sleep and set to never. Fixed this one and a couple of others. Hope it helps. Love this app!

Super frustrating to watch videos and not have it start over or skip to the next in the series each time it’s paused or a quick switch to another app. I’d love to be able to watch and take notes or interact with others during a Bible study, and not have to have it start over and then try to remember where it was and not have to watch the whole video again from the beginning. It’s been doing this for as long as I’ve had this app and it’s frustrating.

This app has amazing content that my kids enjoy, our small group utilizes and just all around helps me with my personal walk. It’s disheartening when every time we go to watch a video it either never loads or crashes somewhere in the midst of watching it. Many times the crash will happen when doing something simple such as rotating the screen or searching for a video to watch. I would love to give this more stars but until these are fixed I can’t do it.

Great shows always stuck in one keep adding more videos I love the one Chi-Ro best show ever except it always freezes and two of the episodes are missing here are the ones so you can add them back- 1. The Fish And Bread (also known as Jesus Feeds The Five thousand) 2. Creation. And that’s all of the episodes and when I say creation I mean the 2nd episode not the one of the creation poem and anyway I really miss those two so please add them back to Chi-Ro thanks and bye 👋🏻 Sincerely, Chi-Ro Lover

This version seems to crash frequently a minute or so into playing a media resource. Retrying usually works, so it’s not a total disaster, but it’s clearly not as reliable as it was in the previous version. Another issue that has just appeared is that the Chromecast function is missing. This is something I’ve used for a few months without any issue, and its sudden disappearance is puzzling. Finally, the layout on the iPhone X (at least) is difficult to operate. Content thumbnails partially overlap the navigation icons at the bottom of the screen, and trying to tap the Airplay icon at the top during playback is much trickier than it used to be, making it difficult to send audio to my Bluetooth headphones. I love a lot about this app but it’s only barely usable in its current state. Here’s hoping for a timely update.

We love RNM! We’ve noticed issues since the latest update. We will be watching a show and the picture will freeze while the audio continues. It took us 60 min to get through a 30 min McGee and Me episode. We had to summarize the last 5 mins of the show for our kids because we couldn’t get it to work. Good thing that I saw the episode so many times in the 90s...ha! Looking forward to some bug fixes. 👍🏼

I had submitted a notification on a bug, and with this release it’s fixed! More important than my little issue, though are the updated features! I love the recently played list at the top! I love that my queue is right below that, so easy to access! Plus, since the update released, the app has been running smoothly and not quitting on me! Great job development team!

I appreciate the content you provide through this app and use it in one of the small groups I lead. Being able to download leader guides for most of the series is very helpful. My frustration lies in that I have to sign in basically every time I open it up. I have a myriad of other apps that tie into my iPad or iPhone thumb print or face recognition security so this is not required. Please update your app so logging in each time is not required.

Absolutely love using these studies for my youth group, there’s so many options to choose from that my youth kids can learn and relate too! Right now we are going through the book of James with Francis Chan and it is excellent! But really frustrating when it constantly buffers and has to load, please fix this problem!!!

Love y’all That being said, I’ve experienced a lot of technical difficulties :-( that it sounds like you’re working on. Namely, Apple airplay is pretty janky. Videos turn off/phone goes to sleep after a minute. Separately, it’s not tracking which modules I’ve completed. Completed modules are still showing up in my inbox, and worse, showing up blank. :-/ help??

As a mom and children’s pastor, I find the children’s content invaluable. It’s been so helpful to have and offer to other parents an alternative to worldly entertainment. My kids are constantly singing songs of praise now. Personally, I love the books of the Bible studies that give greater context and depth to the scriptures. I recommend this app to everyone!

I love this app! I use it for myself, to facilitate my single moms group and especially for my 4 year old! I don’t have a problem giving her my phone to watch Story Book, Bible Man or anything else! This is especially great since we have a 20 min commute to and from school/work. My complaint is that it constantly crashes! My daughter gets so frustrated when she cannot watch a show. On the roku app there is no auto play. Would love to have that!

I haven’t been able to log in to this app for months, either on my phone or on my Apple TV. My church pays who knows how much to give the congregation access to their resources but if I, as a web developer, struggle with this, I can only imagine that the rest of the congregation has probably given up. Seeing as though it’s likely built by believers, this is extra lame. I’ve reached out to support with no helpful response. Additionally, it doesn’t save or sync progress on resources across devices or even locally.

This app is amazing! My favorite app of all time! I just recently started using it and I’m so happy because It’s hard to find anything Christian to watch on regular programs. I absolutely love it! I can’t wait to learn more. The only problem is trying to decide what to watch next since there’s sooo much to choose from. Thank you for sharing this with us! ❤️

This review is not concerning the content but is rather the app functionality. We use RightNow Media for a lot of small group studies but ever since the last GUI update the ability to cast to chromecast enabled devices is completely gone. We have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, restarting/resetting devices, and rebooting systems, but the problem persists. Every other casting app works fine. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE! I will gladly update my review when patched!

To start off this is an amazing resource and I really do love it. Why it only has a one star rating- I have started watching on my phone more often (iPhone 6s) and I cannot see my queue and now videos are always crashing or he screen will black out and the sound will continue until the video ultimately crashes as well. I really really love this app and often my phone is the only way I can watch it. When this gets fixed I will update the rating but it is a real shame because the app is very unusable in its current state.

I love this app all the content it has to offer. But for years I’ve had issues with casting my iPhone to my tv. It says “error messages occurred” or it will show playing on my phone but never connect to the tv. I want to allow my kids to watch it instead of using my Phone. I keep hoping that with each new update this will be solved but sadly it’s not. Please fix.

This is an update from last review. This latest update doesn’t crash when you try to view content hosted on Vimeo. My only criticism now is that the main page doesn’t scale correctly and covers the upper half of the bottom buttons on iPhone XS Max screens under iOS. I was not able to test casting to Chromecast yet but will update review once I do.

I love this so and I love using my iPad to take notes but for whatever reason, you can’t do both of those at the same time on the iPad Pro. Picture in picture would be great to be able to move that little window around a as need be, but I would at least expect the support to run this side by side with other apps. Would love to be able to use this app for my Bible studies.

Brand new iPhone 15 Pro. Open the app —> spinning logo —> “You are offline”. I am not…perfect internet on every other app. Deleted, restarted, reinstalled, same result. Edit - changing my review to 5. My router was blocking the app on my local network as part of some parental control rule. Love the content.

Love the app! The app builds my relationship with the lord Jesus Christ! I can watch bible study’s and a lot more!!! The kids can watch little kid TV shows that teach them about the Lord! The app does not just build my relationship with the Lord but my kids relationship too!!😍 This app it better than you can imagine! I definitely recommend this app!❤️❤️❤️

I cannot tell you enough how much I love the content of the app. It’s perfect for my family and has great videos for the kids. I would give this five stars BUT as of last week I cannot cast my RightNow media app to my chrome cast. The icon has disappeared and I’ve done everything to try to resolve this. From reinstalling the app, making sure I’m connected to the right WiFi as my chrome cast, to restarting my phone and chrome cast. What can I do? Is this just my iphone or is it a different issue? Please help!

Great content for almost every single aspect of life. I wish they can beef up the media steaming servers because it pauses often during streaming and it won’t resume after you pause the video for over a minute. I like the 1.5x play speed that helps me to finish a video quickly, but wish they add 1.25x speed too. Keep tweaking it!

My church just sent me an email to sign up for this. I did and WOW this is exactly what I have been wanting needing! I have leaned a lot about God’s Word from bible study and reading but RightNow has it all and easy awesome wonderful videos!! I am so excited about this! Everyone needs to know about RightNow! I was excited to use this app, and still hope to be able to use it in the future. However right now the query/search engine does not function, the app takes a while to load, the queue has randomly deleted things that I had added to it, and it has just frozen and crashed the majority of the times that I have tried to explore it. The content looks awesome, the app is not a good medium for it.

1. Content is great! 2. But terrible user experience. It is not intuitive and not easy to navigate to watched videos. If I am watching a series of videos it’s hard to look at the overview. I have to go back and find it in search window. 3. Offline download is pretty much useless. It takes forever to download one video and sometimes it takes a day and still doesn’t download. Also going to point 2 you cannot download from the serious you watching but you have to go back and find it through search to attempt the download. 4. Overall the app design is very messy and slow. I would give a 5 but those problems create very bad app. I really hope it would be fixed soon

I have the app on my tv and it crashes a lot. i tried to get it on my phone but i just get a log in page with no other options. i’m new to bible study/scripture study and i thought this would be a great tool but it’s having trouble working. maybe an update to the software and it would run like a charm. good luck guys and ladies. thanks for the efforts and time put in.

Still have issues with queuing videos. Crashes after that. Also crashes after viewing trainings. Hope there will be a fix soon for all of this
