I live closer to an AMC, BUT they don’t maintain their seats. I actually started a list of what seats not to seat on. In your theaters I’ve yet to see 1 chair broken, the leather torn or the seat being tilted. Plus the popcorn in Farmingdale is freshly popped- unlike your Hicksville location. I rather drive a little further for a better experience.
I was watching A Quiet Place the begining. With an hour of the movie, the movie shut off and we were told to exit the theater due to an emergency. My family and I left quickly and orderly out the theater leaving our food behind. We did not go back into the theater. In fact, we left for fear of a gunman, fire, or some life threatening situation. I was told I could get replacement tickets but I can not t food replacement. I find this to be upsetting because movie theater food is not cheap and due to an issue beyond my control, I was forced to leave and left food behind. I feel I should be able to get reimbursement or a replacement for what I bought.
I love the fact that the Showcase Cinemas app has the online ordering feature. It really adds to the movie going experience. However, whenever I go to pick up my order at the designated area, I am always told to wait on line with the people who haven’t used the app. I always tell the concession worker that waiting in line with the people who haven’t used the app defeats the purpose of using the app. There should be a designated person that makes the online orders, especially in the weekend when it gets busy.
Tried buying tickets and ordering food in advance and the app always timed out before I could finish. Bought tickets on my pc, came back to app to order food and after selecting food and entering credit card info the button to complete the order stays faded out and I can’t complete the order. Tried multiple times, as the saying goes: “insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result” so I gave up.
I can book our tickets, seats and food hours or days before we go to the movies. Makes my life so much easier! Especially as a physically disabled adult!
Love being able to order food and have it ready when I get to the theater. Plus Lux and SuperLux level you can have your food delivered right to your seat.
Every time I open the app (after it's completely closed), it grabs whatever I have on the clipboard. There's no reason to do this! And I don't know what it does with this data. Please stop scraping from the clipboard. If you had copied your credit card number, password from a password manager, etc. before opening the app, the app would grab it.
It would be helpful to see all available seats before going through the process of selecting the number of tickets for specific show times. I use Fandango to see what’s available before I use the Showcase app.
Servers used to take orders and payment directly now they force you to use their app to place your order which is clunky and not that user friendly. Also menu doesn’t have quality items it used to.

The old app stopped working, telling me it had no internet connection. I downloaded this app and it would not let me log in. I use LastPass so I know all my login information was correct. I gave up and asked to reset my password, then I was told there was no account with that email address. Btw, I only have one email address. I set up a dummy gmail account and registered with that instead, tried to select seats for a film and app kept refusing to accept the two adjacent seats by telling me there was an empty seat between my two selections when there was none. Just give up, wait several months while they fix this app. There is no excuse for such a poorly designed app today. Btw, I am a 63 yo professional who, in addition to my professional work, teach iPad and iPhone apps to attorneys and seniors. I absolutely can tell a good app from a bad app.
1.) go to sign up page on showcase cinema website 2.) enter the SAME email and name you originally used to sign up. 3.)after that you should get a link to migrate the acc and may have it resend the link email then 4.)go to your email and check for the email “link your starpass account” then click get started when you get to the page it will ask you to input a password. 5.)Then it will send you a verification email. Follow the instructions on the email to verify. After that your all set. You will use your original email and the password you inputed in step 4. the app developers should add a link to do this in the app.
This is really a review for Showcase Cinemas overall. While I do like Showcase Cinemas, I don’t like what you have to go through to get a refund. AMC app has the option to cancel a movie ticket at any time. With Showcase, you have to call the Customer Service number and choose a movie, then the movie theater, then speak with the manager about refunding a ticket purchase. (In case you can’t make it, or decide to go a different night). It’s just a long drawn out process that should be able to be resolved within the app or the website. You can’t speak to a representative until you deal with the automated service. So, all in all, I would say this app should have that feature. To be able to cancel a purchased ticket for a refund within the app. Usually, theaters give you a few hours before the movie starts to request a refund. I also purchased a ticket to one of their theaters through the Atom app. Upon checking, it does have an option to cancel the order. Maybe, I’ll just purchase my tix to showcase through them from now on.
This app does not work at all - I have addressed this at the Edgewater Cinema, Edgewater, NJ - Management suggested I contact Stephen Macropoulos - the “man in charge” I have e-mailed him at National Amusements - he has not responded to me - I will continue to keep track of my ticket stubs and wait for a response - I am an avid “movie goer” and I keep getting ripped of - not receiving any of my rewards - this is terrible - the app does not work - management in the theater don’t know how to work the system - so it’s just a joke at this time - I live on Social Security so going to the movies is a treat for me - everything was fine before they switched to this system and I am aggravated to say the least !!!!!
There used to be an all that showed you how many points you had and allowed you to see all your favourite theatres and the showtimes at each theatre. It also allowed you to purchase through the app (for extra points I believe). Now with this app I find myself asking: Why can’t I find the the specific location for showtimes or add it to my favourites? I have three spots available but one location can not be added to my favourites. I also can’t find what I have for rewards. It shows me the points but what rewards do I have available?
The worst app I’ve ever used i think. This app seems very disconnected from the website. No place to create an account it seems , got tickets and was not able to “join”. Website wouldn’t let me join tells me to use in theatre details but no idea what that means. I Think there is a rewards club but couldn’t join that either. Just seems awful and then a $7 booking fee ?!? But can waive that if you join but nope can’t do on app and doesn’t work on website Just assanine ! Will be going elsewhere and calling for refund for free. AWFUL!!!!!
Just updated and still can’t see my local theaters. I have a Starpass and can’t see my earned rewards, only points until next reward. Theater no longer prints rewards saying they can be found on the app, so I have to ask each time “what rewards do I have.” Have another version of Showcase app that lists my local theaters, but won’t let me log in, nor does it list the theater experience (Real D, Imax, etc.). With the skyrocketing concession prices obviously increasing profits, you’d think they could hire a new app coder to get this right. Don’t bother with this app, try a third party.
Loved the old app, then without ample notice they turned off support for it. I didn’t realize until many weeks later that there was a new app. I followed the steps to activate my account on the new app and it wouldn’t let me in; I tried the desktop site and it worked fine so I knew the app had a big. I emailed showcase cinemas support and they simply told me to update the app to the newest version , guess what? I already had the new version. Nothing works, don’t bother downloading this stupid app since it’s useless.
After reading all the horrific reviews, I was facing a conundrum. My old app didn’t work and everyone was saying the new one didn’t work either. Well, I took the chance. No, the new app didn’t recognize me. However, I was asked to hit a link to re-register, which I did. Once I did that, all my info was there. I was sent an email which gave me directions. I followed the directions and. Viola, all is good. The app works perfectly. Read people
Good: larger poster images & showing prices Bad: larger posters take up too much space ... way too much scrolling; no movie descriptions; no ratings UGLY: once you select a poster, it often looks like you can’t go back to look at another movie because the Back button is often obscured by a picture. Obviously this wasn’t tested by a movie goer. They’ve had plenty of time to get this fixed, but must not care about their customers.
App feedback - it needs to be updated so that if a movie has no seats left that you aren’t able to click on that time and then continue all the way to selecting the seats to find out you can’t. Also, sometimes you get to the seat selection and aren’t able to click on anything. If the section is closed so it. It is very very annoying to do theses two things
Love this app! Showcase made some great improvements with the new app. Love scanning my card straight from my phone at the movies and seeing my earned rewards and past transactions so easily!
I don’t have much to ask with this app except for it is missing the ability to tell you how close you are to a reward and how much you spent at the concession stand.
